  • Internal camera failure after software updates...first skype couldn't......

    Hello!
I am having internal camera failure after software updates...first skype couldn't find the camera, and now photo booth also says camera is not connected. Its a brand new MacBook Pro which has been working fine for a month, but after a software update (the blinking message said i had 13 new things to update...you know what I'm talking about right?) all of a sudden Skype couldnt find a camera, so i went to the skype community and tried some things (like trashing skype) but now photo booth says no camera detected, which is weird cause the camera is built into the computer..
    Please help!
    Thanks

    First, reset the SMC:

If that doesn't help, then take it to an Apple Store for examination.

  • N79 camera

I've bought a Nokia N79 10 days ago and I have a problem with my camera. I can't find it of high resolution and it seems like it's 2 megapixels not 5 megapixels
When I capture the image immediately with one click, the image seems to be blurred (especially when I photograph texts)
To make it capture the image properly with clear text, I should keep pressing the camera button till I see the green brackets then take the photo.
Is that normal or a problem?? knowing that nokia E71 camera is completely different with clear image although it's 3.2 MP.
The same thing happens when I capture anything(especially text as well)on video.
Please I need a quick answer because I need to know if this phone is defective.
Thank you and sorry for prolongation.

You'll need to focus before taking pictures, that's what the green brackets show. The E71 had some sort of fixed-focus mode by default, and only focussed if you used the "T" key. In both cases an unfocussed picture should focus at infinity, meaning it's okay for taking pictures of distant objects, but not for anything within a few metres.
As far as video goes, most Nokia handsets currently focus at infinity for video, meaning that the subjects are blurred. The only currently-manufactured model which focusses nearby is the N86, which focusses at about two metres. Older handsets such as the N82 and N95/8GB also do this.
Help I'm trapped in a sig factory.

  • N79 Camera is not working good in Auto Flash mode.

    Hello,
N79 phone which I bought last sunday, camera in falsh on mode takes photo with some greenish effect. while without flash mode it is doing good. It alse capturing video with greenish effect. please help me.
    Thanks in Advance,
    ajit

There is a physical design flaw in the flash/lens housing of the N79, a small gap allows light from the flash directly onto the lens causing a white "shadow" on images taken in low light.
I've physically blocked this gap with some opaque glue but it seems from what i've read on these forums that Nokia tried to hide the problem by using software compensation in the later firmwares. Now all my flash photo's come out darker than they should be, they look quite nice when the flash is on during focusing but once the image is processed it looks bad...
Best solution i can think of is block the gap and use older firmware, unless Nokia is gonna make a special firmware version for people who tried to fix their design flaw as best they could.

  • E7-00 Front Camera Failure

The front camera of my E7-00 (RM-626) Product Code 059F6L7 running 111.030.0609.282.01 Nokia Belle consistently produces this error message when I attempt to use the front camera  "Unexpected error occurred. Please restart the camera. If this does not help, try restarting the phone."
I've done both suggested actions. I've reflashed the firmware. I still have the same  error message. Am I missing something? Is there a log for this error so I can tell if it is a hardware fault? Is there a work around?

    @luke_dirtwalker
Probably only option left for you to try before returning device is to try re-installing existing software using OVI Suite > Tools > Software updates > re-install existing software in case of any possible software corruption.

  • Can there be a N79 Camera Update with Face Detecti...

Hello there, I'm yet to have this phone delivered but I'm looking forward to it. I was thrille dto hear that Nokia do updates which can also enhance this phone's cameras which is really cool. My question is if Nokia could make an update that gives the phone Face Detection, Smile Detection, and all those other modern camera features? It seems unlikely to me but I was just wondering if they could do this, and if they, can they do it soon!
    Thanks.

well the nokia n86 has this feature who knows it may be in the line down the road you can use the contact us link and suggest it to nokia there
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Camera Failure

My xfinity security camera is no longer workig and i have only been with Comcast for 7 months. What are my options. Or am i just forced to pay 130 bucks for another one that i'm assuming may last another 7 months. Is there some type of warranty on the original camera. Mine was never touched or abused. And it was indoor use only.. All test that was instructed on reconnecttivety were done, and yet no green power lights came on.Seeking advice!

Do you have other Cameras, if so I would try the power supply from them on the one you can't get to work. All sensors come with a 30 day warranty.  You can purchase a service protection plan from Comcast to cover your sensors and camera for a extra $5 a month I believe. All though with this plan you do have to  keep it for a period of time to not be retroactively charged for any work done.   Another option would be to buy one second hand from ebay and install it yourself. There are plenty of videos on youtube on how to do this.  Hope this helps.

  • Installing USB camera failure

I installed a default WES 7 OS with the IBW disk. (Application compatibility)
After installation completed I plugged in a USB web cam, expecting for the driver to be installed automatically (pooling the driver from the internet, (as I did and succeeded with windows 7 pro) but the
    installation failed.
    Camera model ELP-UA188
    VID_1871&PID_0d01
    Any ideas?
    Best regards,
    Avi Wertheimer

Installing the USB came after installing from IBW will not pull in the various device drivers needed for the camera. Make sure the USB camera is connected and then install via IBW.
The proper method that give you better control is to use TAP to investigate drivers and pull the PMQ into ICE. You can add any missing drivers via ICE and then create a custom IBW.

  • Skype camera failures

i tried to Skype call my dad from my mac and on his iphone 4. i could see me in the small box but my dad didn't see any thing. and yes video Skype calls in between mac and iphone work.

    See this thread:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5306216?tstart=0
    FIX:
    1. You need Time Machine
    2. Go to folder /Library/CoreMediaIO/Plug-Ins/DAL/
    3. Copy AppleCamera.plugin to good place (usb memory stick is the best place).
    4. Go to Time machine in date that skype work fine.
    5. Change AppleCamera.plugin with file from Time Machine
    6. Restart system, Now skype need to work with camera.
    If that doesnt pass,
Suggest looking here, much success has been found:

  • First day of use iphone5 found camera failure!

I just got a new iphone5 Yesterday (6-Dec-2012) I check all functiona well before paid. Just the first day of use my camera show picture like this. I took this and then turn off/on.
After restart iphone camera operate normally. I'm not sure when it will happen again.
For this case, Could apple can replace my iphone with the new one, if I claim this with my retailer (Thailand AIS). I don't want to refurbish one. Just 1 day of use.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Phongmanee J.

Simple restart fixed it, this is often considered one time glitch. You have full year Warranty, so well covered, if problem recurs.

I'm getting a 4003 camera error since installing the latest update.  I'm reading it's a common problem.  What's the fix?
    Solved!

    Hi brysonguptill,
You're right there is no fix for the issue. Please check the below KB article and forums post for knowing more on the issue -
KB30341 "Camera Error: The camera is in use. Close any other instances of the camera and try again" is displayed when attempting to use the camera after upgrading to Tablet OS 2.0

  • Video Camera Failure

I have a Macbook that I have had for about three months. About three weeks ago the built in microphone quit working. Now the computer won't recognize the built in isite. Anyone had this problem? Suggestions?

Check if there is any program using iSight resource. You can see it from dock, and see if any other icon beside finder and widget have black arrow at the bottom of it.
iMovie, comic life, and IM program like yahoo that start automatically everytime you restart the computer might use that iSight.
Also reset nv-ram and pmu (pmu also reset nv-ram) might resolve the problem
    Good Luck

  • "There is no connected camera" error

After updating to 10.9.2, I can no longer access the camera built in to my Cinema Display and connected to my 2009 Mac Pro. It fails to work in all applications I tried, such as Skype, FaceTime and Photo Booth. Typically, I get an error that says "There is no connected camera."  I can’t say for sure that the update caused the problem, but I became aware of it shortly after doing the update. The camera in my similarly-updated MacBook Pro works just fine.
Here’s all the relevant diagnostic info I can provide:
    • The camera is still listed as “Display iSight” in System Information
    • The problem affects all user accounts, not just my main account
    • Resetting the SMC had no effect. Restarting had no effect.
    • Trying to kill VDCAssistant, either via the Terminal killall command or via Activity Monitor had no effect. In fact, it appeared that neither command successfully killed the two VDCAssistant processes I had going.
    • Console is showing a steady stream of VDCAssistant crashes. A key part of the crash report states: “Client is attempting to access a display by index (1) instead of display ID. abort () called.”
    • ONE THING DID WORK: If I restarted via a Safe Boot, the camera worked! This confirmed my suspicion that the camera itself (or its connection) is not broken. A software fix should be sufficient. I’m just not sure what to fix.
When I did a normal restart after the safe boot, the camera failure returned.
    • I used Cocktail to clear the System Cache. It too had no effect.
If anyone can figure this out, I would be most grateful.

Hmmmm.... The camera is working properly on my 24" LED Display connected to my 2009 Mac Pro!
    Did you try both:
    (1) a restart Mac, repair permissions, 10.9.2 Combo Update, and another permissions repair and,
    (2) OS X Mavericks: Reinstall OS X via the built-in recovery disk?
