N8-00 CK-100 & voice guidance in GPS

Above combination with the current firmware release in all.
Phone pairs with BT to the car kit fine but does not say 'player connected' unless playing music from the phone when it all works fine.
As such, voice guidance on GPS doesn't play through car's radio speakers only phone's own internal speaker.
If I play music from the phone, then yes, the voice guidance works, but does not cut out the music that is playing.
How do I pair up the music player through BT, so the voice guidance works through the CK-100 please?

If you mean Ovi Maps voice navigation, the output of the Maps voice instructions over bluetooth to a car-kit is unfortunately not supported. You need to use the phone speakers for the navigation voice.

  • Navigation voice guidance

Maps begins voice guidance before GPS has been established; possibly based on latest known position. Latest version of Maps in 'N95 8GB'.

You can get it with Ovi Maps. V.3 is now available.
Voice guidance is free for 7 days. After that you have to pay a fee.

There is no built in navigation app on the iPhone. If you want navigation, with voice guidance, you will have to purchase an app in the app store. While you can use the iPhone maps app to plan/map a trip, it is not a true navigation app & does not provide voice guidance. The iPhone maps app also requires a data connection, as none of the data is stored locally on your phone.

  • FM Transmit and GPS voice guidance

I activated the FM Transmit on my C7 mobile. I am able to listen to music stored on my mobile phone on my car stereo. But I could not get the GPS voice guidance to broadcast on my car stereo.
Can anybody tell me how  to make the GPS voice guidance to work on my car stereo.
    Thanks

    Welcome to the forum!
Presumably you can still get voice guidance via speaker of C7?
Due to technical restrictions the audio output of Ovi Maps voice guidance is not supported over bluetooth connection to a car kit unfortunately. It was apparently a technical trade-off in the Bluetooth implementation prioritizing optimal use of Bluetooth headsets rather than enabling voice instructions through the carkit.

  • HT201272 I had my iPhone replaced and everything synced back except for my motion x gps voice guidance that I paid for already. How can I get that back?

I need some help if possible reapplying my live voice guidance to motion x app. I purchased this a few months ago and have receipt for it but it never synced with my replacement phone.

At any point has the device been restored as new and then had content synced to it?
If so, did the problem continue?
Based on the description, my first assumption is a corrupted backup or setting in the backup.

  • Problem in voice guidance in navigation

    Hi everybody on nokia forum.
I have a small navigation problem I have latest phone software (v20.0.012) and updated everything i can with PC Suite and I have Full Ireland & UK GPS function for 90-days with voice guidance but here is the problem

I re downloaded voice about 100 times but it is the same. Even tried to delete everything and install all the maps and voice but the same..

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

A small number of languages can't be selected offline, Baltic state languages are amongst them. All you need to do is let the Maps app go online briefly (Options>Tools>Go online in Maps 2.0) then do the selection of language. The phone will ask for permission to go online to update the database of languages, then do a search, and when you see the list of available languages, your Latvian will be one of a number of 'new entries'.

  • No Voice Guidance under Bluetooth

The "No Voice Guidance under Bluetooth" problem seems to be well documented on this board as well as elsewhere on the web, and can be sumarize like this:
In-Car bluetooth connections that work fine for phonecalls will not relay voice directions from Maps, and the phone itself stays mute. In effect, no voice directions are heard at all.
The reason seems clear as well: The bluetooth standard allows for several different kinds of sound-streams for priority purposes etc. Most In-Car bluetooth devices however (including several NOKIA-ones), accept only actual phonecalls. Hence, all oher sound is muted while connected to the car.
The rather obvious solution would be to have a setup-item in Ovi-Maps that forces all sound from the program to use the phones integrated speakers instead of an operative Bluetooth connection. (Use Bluetooth connection for Voice directions On/Off).
However, over all the posts, NO NOKIA STAFF have responded to aknowledge the problem or comment on it's possible solution or workaround. (And I have not found any third party app that adresses the issue.)
One might speculate that the reason would be the design of the operating system, choosing to handle all sound in a similar way, which undoubtedly is a good thing ... in most cases, but in this case dissalows usage of the free navigation in the one situation it is of the highest value - IN THE CAR.
NOW - as FREE NAVIGATION becomes a major selling point and the aplication can't work in a modern car while maintaining legal phone connectivity, NOKIA needs to accept this reality, and make Ovi-maps useable for these users as well - even if that means defying a design principle. An actual response from someone informed, would be greatly appreciated.
For reference, I use version 3.03 10wk01 b05 of Ovi-maps on my NOKIA N97 mini with a factory fitted Alfa Romeo "Blue&Me" bluetooth kit, developed by Microsoft Automotive.

I don't have this issue. But then I don't have a BT system built-in to the car.
What I do have is a Sony BT Radio / CD / AUX which I fitted myself.
The Sony has 2 "channels" for BT input - "Music" and "Phone". I can connect my N97 using both of these channels,or only one. The SatNav function on the phone uses the Music channel, and the phone uses the Phone channel.
I also have an Archos 5 IT, which has GPS and BT. So I can connect my Archos for the Satnav, and the N97 for the phone, and the radio controls which output is muted, at the touch of one button.
I mention this to show that the Nokia N97 has all the technology and flexibility to perform all these functions perfectly, co-operating fully with other devices.
Can you say the same for the devices fitted in your cars? How long ago were these devices fitted? How long ago did you buy these cars? When was the firmware last updated? What standards did the in-car devices conform to in the first place.
    Just a thought.

  • E6 - Ovi Maps Voice guidance over BT Car Music Sys...

OK everyone has been screaming out a lot on this issue, I had the same problem while using E71 before while using the Ovi Maps.  (Refer my earlier post)
    /t5/Maps-Navigation-and-GPS/No-Voice-Guidance-under-Bluetooth/m-p/665637#M21482
It seems Nokia have partly answered to this problem, but still there is big OPEN FAULT.
Got my Nokia E6 y'day and Tried the Map's Voice guidance while connected to my same Car System's BT (Blaupunk Hamburg MP68 - refer my earlier post ), here are the changes I noticed.
    1) While playing music through CD/USB, Nokia E6 gives out Voice guidance while navigating through its "own" LoudSpeaker.  THIS IS A GOOD CORRECTION to the previously noticed problem and the guidance is not lost.
    2) Now comes the issue.  While navigating, when there is a incoming or outgoing phone call, music stops and the phone voice conversation are routed to the BT music system properly (This is something the basic functionaly and it works as it as properly).   But the  Voice guidance is totally lost in this scenario!!!  THERE IS NO VOICE GUIDANCE EITHER ON THE PHONE'S OWN LOUDSPEAKER OR THE BT MUSIC SYSTEM.
Nokia, expecting u to fix this bug sooner...
    A Nokia Loyalist :-)

Looks like this fault will stay for ever...
Here's reply from Nokia Careline when complained this problem.
    ======
Thank you for contacting Nokia Careline.
We understand that Voice guidance of your Nokia E6 Ovi Maps gets lost when there is an incoming or outgoing phone call.
We value the importance of your feedback and we are here to assist you.
In response to your email, we would inform you that we can not comment on compatibility of Nokia E6-00 with non Nokia device (in this case, Blaupunkt Hamburg MP68). However, we have taken this as a valuable feedback and we have forwarded the same to the Consumer Feedback Division for their due consideration.

  • New Indian Turn by Turn Voice Guidance Maps with o...

    Dear Friends,
MapmyIndia.com offers Sygic mobile maps (http://inav.mapmyindia.com/product/sygic/sygic_mobile_maps.html) claims to have intuitive design, easy to read as you drive, crystal-clear spoken voice instructions and route guidance with map coverage of 401 cities all over India. What is also claimed is MapmyIndia Sygic mobile maps, once installed, are stored on your phone/SD card. This means that you do not require a GPRS or data connection to get them working. What's more, there are no subscription or recurring charges. The one time cost is 55 US Dollars which would be a great saving as I often use the map while in Indian roads. This provides me a better option compared to Nokia Maps which I like but is expensive and Google Maps which doesnt yet come with turn by turn voice guidance for Sybian 5 platforms (only available in Android 2).
The customer care of MapmyIndia mentioned that it is totally compatible with my new Nokia N97. However, I would like to find out if any of you have used this service and if it affects the performance of the phone (speed, memory, crashing etc) in any way. How does Nokia looks at such third party alternatives?
Many thanks for your help and for sharing your experience.

Dear cjlim, Thanks for the input. Well, in terms of updated maps, the google can't be matched. However, Nokia map updates do not necessarily cover all the rapid changes thats taking place all over India. As per your suggestion I had a chat with the customer service rep of mapmyIndia and the response are as following which says the update is every six months and it could be downloaded free.

  • Lumia 920... Backup maps, voice guidance, and apps

How can I backup apps and maps/voice guidance before a hard reset process?? Making backup copies of photos/vidoes is simple... But I have some 8 GB of apps/maps/voice guidance and I really need most of them... Is there any way to back these up?
    Thanks in advance

not sure why you want to back those up.
after you reformat, you can just reinstall them very easily.
that is, if you are talking about the nokia maps/drive
if it is another 3rd party application, then you may want to specify

  • How do I  hook up Koss CS 100 voice recognition headset to my iMac and make it work?

I just got a Koss CS 100  voice recognition headset to hook up to my iMac.  It has 2 plugs 3.5mm diameter (one for the mic and one for the earphones.  I cannot get the mic to work.  I have tried
Preferences > Sound > input > audio port line in ....external microphone does not work
Preferences > Dictation and Speech > line in  (and in automatic as well)......Ext Mic does not work
I have tried every possible combo of above.
How do I make these work with my iMac so I may improve speech recognition for transcription of letters.  I am using the Apple speech recognition software supplied with OSX / Mavericks/
    iMac  OSX 10.9.4
    2.4 GHz Intel core2 Duo
    4GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

Moat likely the input impedance and/or level are wrong for the input port. You will probably need some sort of sound card plug-in like the iMic Support | Griffin Technology. Or search Google for USB sound cards such as Newegg.com - usb sound card mac.
If you plan to use Dragon Speech Recognition software, then they provide a headset as part of the purchase. See Dragon Dictate for Mac.

  • Missing some voice guidance with hands free kit

I have found that the first few seconds of any voice guidance message is missing when I have my phone connected to my BT hands free kit.  This is normally the key bit "in xxx yards turn..." or even the entire speed warning.  It doesn't happen using the phone speaker.
I am using the Nokia HF-200 hands free box and the 'problem' has occurred with maps 3.03, 3.04 and 3.06.  I have tried my X6-16G (RM-559, V 31.0.004)and a 5230 Navi and both behave the same.
Does anybody know if a different hands free kit would solve the problem, or are they all slow to start up.  You don't notice it with calls because the ring tone seems to 'wake up' the HF-200 before the voice message starts.

You're lucky even to get navigation commands via car speakers which defeats the latest Nokia devices with Bluetooth carkits.
Don't want to misinform you but think that CK-300 with CarMenu application upon individual device was one of the few to achieve this but seems development stopped.

  • Can't Get Voice Guidance to Work

Hi; My N95 came with a free 18 month voice guided Sat Nav System. The Phone has detected that I have the free software and the sat nav works fine. However, the voice guidance doesn't work.
I have tried downloading the voices and maps from the map locator software from my PC onto the memory card. It downloads and saves to the phone. However, I can't find where on the phone it saves to "install it" any ideas or does it does this automatically.
Can someone help as I'm sure this feature is excellent but sat nav without voices is pretty pointless and dangerous and that's what I have at the moment.
    Thanks

I think everything goes to a folder on your card called 'cities' and it installs there via the Map Loader automatically after you have selected what you require.
