N8-00 Exporting Mail

Hi
How do you export email from the Mail app on the N8-00.  I installed the PC Suite and it synch'ed contacts but there is no option to sync email.    I want to copy the email to outlook on my PC.

@DStratton
As you are probably aware Nokia Suite supports Outlook but to sync with Outlook you have to install the Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 (KB952142).

  • Exporting mail from specific subfolders only via powershell

    I am trying to create a powershell script to export mail from the specified subfolder of the inbox of an exchange 2010 mailbox to a PST.  For example, if Bobs mailbox has a folder in the inbox called salesinfo and this needs to be exported to a PST,
    but nothing else in the mailbox should be included, is there a way to do this in PowerSHell?
    I have tried new-exportrequest -mailbox bob -includefolders '#inbox#\\salesinfo' -filepath \\server\share\bob.pst
    and am getting nowhere fast.  this gets folder structure for somethings out but no mail.... exporting the whole mailbox or even the entire inbox is also no good...
    Does anyone know if there might be a way to do this?
    thanks much

    Hello Derek,
    There are parameters that you can use to export specific folders however these days Exchange forums are getting attacked by third party product person so having lack of quality :)
    You can use IncludeFolder or ExlcudeFolder switch to choose specific folder or exclude folders that you don't want...
    For example for default folder (you can use #defaultfoldername#)...
    New-MailboxExportRequest -Mailbox Kweku -IncludeFolders "#Inbox#" -FilePath \\SERVER01\PSTFileShare\Kweku\LegalHold.pst
    If you want to include multiple folders then here is an example...
    New-MailboxExportRequest -Mailbox Kweku -IncludeFolders "#Contacts#","rootfoldername/subfoldername"  -FilePath \\SERVER01\PSTFileShare\Kweku\LegalHold.pst
    If you want to include all subfolder of a root folder then here is the switch...
    -IncludeFolders "rootfoldername/*"

    by forwarding or redirecting all the messages to your webmail email address one by one. that's the only way. the same is true for any other email client you may use. there is no other way to get messages into a webmail pop account.

  • Where is export mail option

    Greetings.. i have a straightforward question.. is it correct that there isn't an "export mail" option in 10.6.8 ?   Mail version 4.6
    I have read various comments on forums about exporting mailboxes, sometimes there is mention of choose Export Mail but there has also been advice to copy the mailboxes to a usb then transfer to another computer.
    I definitely don't have an Export Mail option available.. only Import and Copy. I would like Export tho .

    Thank you for replying but i already knew to do as you suggest,  and i had done much searching within the menus,there isn't an Export Mailbox option in the Mailbox menu ( and i was highlighting specific mailboxes).
    Amongst references to taking accounts online etc and smart mailboxes in the Mailbox menu the more applicable ones i have are Rename, Delete and Archive. Also Rebuild which i don't want to get into.  But no Export.
    Under File menu i have Import and under Edit there is Copy.  I pretty much know my way around things so this one does surprise me.
    I don't think it was on my PowerPC eMac either ( i found an old mailbox file on a usb which i must have transferred) but i thought it might be on this iMac although by some standards it is becoming old.

    Was able to successfully solve the export problem by below command by adding the contentfilter parameter all -like this gave me all mails sent to this user and received to this user perfectly.
    New-MailboxExportRequest -Mailbox "journalmailbox" -ContentFilter {all -like '[email protected]'} -FilePath "\\server\mailbox.pst"

    I d like to export mail folder ("on my mac") to different mac!
    In detail:
    I got a MacBookPro and have a lot of important emails saved in mail under the "on my mac" folder. How do I transfer those folder and emails to my Imac? Both macs mail is working fine but if i create a new folder under "on my mac", emails on the Imac disapear and they are not in the "on my mac" folder of the Imac. Any suggestions?

    You will have to buy the version that is compatible with the version of Apple OS X that you are running.

  • Export mails/mailboxes to PDF?

    Hi everyone,
    on the PC you can export mails or whole mailboxes to PDF while retaining all the attachments in it. This is made possible when you have Acrobat Pro 9 installed. Is there a similar way to accomplish the same with Apple Mail? I know of the Archive option and how this gives you an mbox. For me this would be sufficient, but in order to be viewable also on the PC the customer would like to have PDFs here, too. Any ideas? Automator to the rescue?
    Thanks

    Sorry for bumping this thread, but I’m still looking for a a comparable solution.

  • Can't import LDIF format exported mail address to Address Book

    New to iMac and trying full migration from PC
    I have a LDIF format address file (exported from Comcast's Webmail in Netscape Communicatore LDIF format). Can't import the file to my new iMAC's Address Book.
    Getting the following msg: No Cards Added. No importable cards were found.
    It is a small file, there are records in the file- I opened the file with MS Notepad. I have opend the file with TextEdit as well and see the records in the file. Records have givenname:, sn:, mail:. xmozillanickname:, description:.
    I've checked the FAQ, all support pages and there doesn't seem to be a solution.
    Is this ture?
    iMAc   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    I found a solution.
    When I tried importing the mailboxes, I was selecting "Files in mbox format," because that's what they are, right? No. Apparently, I needed to select "Apple Mail" instead.
    That imports everything under an Import folder, and then I can select the emails and drag them to the appropriate inboxes (after re-setting up the accounts).
    Ugh, this is not easy. But I'm getting close.
    (Oh, step 6 will be to clear off Time Capsule and start a new backup. But only after I'm convinced things are running right. Obviously, I will be looking at other options for catastrophic backup in the future.)
    Another note: I first tried copying my entire user folder to my external drive. But after a few minutes of copying, that failed, saying that I didn't have permission to copy one or more files. It didn't tell me what it was, or ask whether to skip it. It just failed. So that's why I was left to selectively pick files.
    Another lesson learned: Know your Time Capsule password. If you rely on Keychain for this, and your machine dies, you're going to have a hard time recovering (if it's possible).

  • How to export mail.jar ?

    Hi to everybody!
    i'm writing a desktop application that needs to send e-mail (i'm using NetBeans do develop it). These are the steps i've done:
    * I've downloaded the javamail-1.4 and jaf-1.1 (activation) libraries and i've added them into my project using "Libraries -> AddLibrary" as i've always done. And everything works.
    * I've written my code (i.e. an emailSender class) and compiled it. And everything works.
    * I run the application from NetBeans. And everything works (the email are sent).
    * I've added into build.xml the code
    <target name="-post-jar">
             <jar update="true" destfile="${dist.jar}" manifest="manifest.mf">
                 <zipfileset src="${libs.swing-layout.classpath}"/>
                 <zipfileset src="C:\\Programs\\Java\\jaf-1.1\\activation.jar"/>
                 <zipfileset src="C:\\Programs\\Java\\javamail-1.4\\mail.jar"/>
             </jar>
    </target>to export the myproject.jar file as an executable on other systems but when i double-click on the jar i see the error:
    Could not find the main class. Program will exit* Then i've removed the two zipfileset tags and left the target tag as
    <target name="-post-jar">
             <jar update="true" destfile="${dist.jar}" manifest="manifest.mf">
                 <zipfileset src="${libs.swing-layout.classpath}"/>
             </jar>
    </target> Thus the application still run correctly if loaded from NetBeans but if loaded by double-clicking the jar file (after a rebuild of the project) it throws the following exception:
    class java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
    javax/mail/MessagingExceptionOf course id does not fount the definition of MessagingException.
    * I've tryed to add the mail.jar, using the jar command line, into myproject.jar but i haven't solved the problem.
    So, how could i add into myproject.jar the mail library without having the NoClassDefFoundError exception? I think the error appear only when exporting into the jar the mail api. But the manifest.mf file always contains
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Ant-Version: Apache Ant 1.6.5
    Created-By: 1.5.0_06-b05 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
    Main-Class: Main.Mainand it looks correct.
    Thank you in advance !!
    alevincio

    You don't want to include mail.jar in your jar file, and you don't
    even want to include the classes in mail.jar in your jar file.
    What you want to do is to set up your jar file to reference mail.jar
    and activation.jar, e.g., by including a ths in your manifest file:
    Class-Path: mail.jar activation.jar
    Then make sure that mail.jar and activation.jar are in the same
    directory as your jar file.

  • How to export mail message body data detectors information, not address bok

    Is there anyway to export Apple mail's "data detectors" information within the message body other than to the address book? I don't want to export the other non detector information contained in the body of the message. I would also like to include From, Subject and Date. Preferably the export result would be in a organized comma format.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

    James,
    Two routes to try come to mind, the first being Applescript. Mail is obviously "aware" of the info contained in the detectors, and of course it knows all about what is contained in the header. You can probably use Applescript to extract the desired data, placing it in a Text Edit document. It has been some time since I haves used Applescript myself, so I won't be much help in guiding you. Regardless, you would need to teach yourself how to use Applescript, even with assistance.
    The other route to take would be to drag these emails out of Mail to the Finder, creating standard text files. You could then handle them in one of the command line text editors- scripted, of course- to extract and format the needed data. Again, this is something you'd need to explore on your own.
    Since these messages all have the same formatting, it is simply a matter of identifying the data you need, then placing that data in a properly formatted text document. Generally speaking, this is part and parcel of what both Applescript be text editors do.

  • Import/Export Mail messages

    Can anyone tell me how to export all my email messages from Mail from one computer to another?
    Ie, from an iMac G5 to a MacBook.
    All I seem to be able to achieve is copying the application and not the actual email messages.

    Folders You Can Move to Your new Mac
    From the Home folder copy the contents of Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures, and Sites.
    In your /Home/Library/ folder:
    /Home/Library/Application Support/AddressBook (copy the whole folder)
    /Home/Library/Application Support/iCal (copy the whole folder)
    Also in /Home/Library/Application Support (copy whatever else you need including folders for any third-party applications)
    /Home/Library/Keychains (copy the whole folder)
    */Home/Library/Mail (copy the whole folder)*
    */Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist (* This is a very important file which contains all email account settings and general mail preferences.)*
    /Home/Library/Preferences/ copy any preferences needed for third-party applications
    /Home /Library/iTunes (copy the whole folder)
    /Home /Library/Safari (copy the whole folder)
    If you want cookies:
    /Home/Library/Cookies/Cookies.plist
    /Home/Library/Application Support/WebFoundation/HTTPCookies.plist
    For Entourage users:
    Entourage is in /Home/Documents/Microsoft User Data
    Also in /Home/Library/Preferences/Microsoft
    For FireFox:
    /Home/Library/Applications Support/FireFox
    /Home/Library/Preferences/org.mozilla.firefox.plist

  • How to Export Mail RSS feeds to another reader

    How do I go about exporting RSS feeds I have in Mail into another reader like NetNewsWire?
    Thanks.

    Hi Purple Cat,
    Have you considered using New New Wire as a bridge between google reader and apple mail?
    1) download NetNewsWire
    2) configure NetNewsWire as default RSS reader
    3) open NetNewsWire
    4) Enable Assentive Devices
    5) run terminal command to add RSS feed to NetNewsWire
    6) verified correct feed to add in NewNewsWire
    7) synced with google reader.
    1) NetNewsWire download, put in applications folder.
    2)open safari, go to safari menu, click preferences, when preferences open chose RSS. Set the pulldown menu default RSS reader to NetNewsWire
    3) open NetNewsWire, make sure it's open, with no dialog box being displayed.
    4) open system preferences, Click on Universal Access, check "enable access to assisted devices"
    4) Open terminal, paste in the fallowing command, then press return:
    IFS=$'\n';for i in $(find ~/Library/Mail/RSS/ -name "Info.plist");do open $(grep "<string>http://" $i | sed "s/.*\(http[^<]*\).*/\1/;s/http/feed/"); osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to keystroke return'; sleep 20; done; say done;
    NOTE: while this command runs do not click on any thing. it will take about 20 seconds between adding each RSS feed. if your speakers are on and your volume loud enough, you should hear the computer say 'done' after adding all the RSS feeds.
    5) in NetNewsWire verify all the RSS are good to go, remove any you do not wish to add to google reader.
    6) when your sure your ok to have the feed in NetNewsWire added to google reader:
    in netnewswire go to preferences, click on the syncing icon, put in your google user name and password, Click Merge Subscriptions button, Then check "sync with google reader.

    It's recommended to download and install

  • Export mail/mail folders?

    We used to use this great mail program at work which would allow us to select a folder and export the entire contents as text files. It was very helpful for archiving. Can this be done with Mail, aside from selecting each individual email and saving as a text file?
