N8??????????? ANOTHER BIG LIE !!!

Few years ago, I used to use Nokia all the time ! and only Nokia !! I've always had issues with Nokia handsets and never been satisfied with such qualityl, this is why I swore that I will never carry a Nokia handset ever again !! then I started using SONYERRICSON & I was fine with it so far !! Then when time comes to go back using Nokia !!! I decided that the N8 might be the right choice !!! I don't get it !! is it that Nokia is very lame to design a smart phone without any freezing, restarting problems??? I"ve had the N8 since 10 days now !!! and again !! restarting itself !! freezing for no reason !!! especially ! when you're running the GPS service ! I was so damn happy with this service on the N8 and I was driving and moving from a place to another using this service !! but unfortunately !!!! I only had two times of joy trying this service ! coz now everytime I run the service my N8 goes frozen & it does turn itself off !! it takes me 3-5 minutes to turn the mobile again ! COZ when I try to turn it on it just asks for the pin code then a white screen shows up and stays up for few minutes ! I updated the software ! searched the internet for such a problem and found out that it's a common problem with Nokia N8 !! .. seriously ! to me this is a disaster when such a huge company with billions of dollars being unable to design a nice mobile with no problems at all !! sometimes I think Nokia does it on a purpose to invest from the maintainance money afterward !!! Now I need a damn solution !!! I don't need this N8 anymore but I don''t think so Nokia shop here in Jordan will ever gimme my money back ! so I will just videotape what happens to my N8 and will upload it directly on youtube ! and I will send you the link for sure and will send it to everyone I know so they think twice prior buying the handset. Stay tuned !!!!!

there is no justifying bad service but why would you go back to using a product you have only had bad experience with? Why don't you share your reason for leaving Sony Ericsson with us. Why don't you just wait to get it back and see What happens? For all you know it might actually work.

I also had issues opening AVCHD files on case-sensitive filesystems.
You can try these steps to solve the issue:
Right click on the AVCHD file and select 'Show Package Contents'
Right click on the BDMV file and select 'Show Package Contents'
Rename index.bdm to INDEX.BDM (it seems that all files in the BDMV folder should be in UPPERCASE for Quicktime to open the AVCHD file).
Go back twice and try again to double-click on the AVCHD file (Quicktime should open a window showing the multiple clips, as expected).

Another big hugly bug

Moving objects in the layers panel is really anoying. If you tell a layer to go beneath another layer it goes on top. if you pick and drag a layer every grouped object layer opens and everytime you stop moving a layer in the layers panel it resets and goes to a different position so you're oblidged to scroll to wherever you where before.
Not time saving and a huge pain in the ***!!!!!

Did it finish loading the iView files? If so check the size at the bottom. If it's still incorrect and extremely large try rebuilding the library, launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed, follow the instructions to rebuild the library, while selecting only the database option. That may clear up the problem.
I didn't note the size when I was importing my iView collection but iPhoto does reports the correct size now.

I have combined two images but new mask image is totally overwrite and come in whitecolored not in original color.....
I have user CGImageMaskCreate, CGImageCreateWithMask......
But i want to put small image on big image at particular point...... that i m tired to search but i can't find.......

Check the Quartz2D documents on Apple's site. Do a search in your examples folder in the developer folder and on Apple's site for Masks. I haven't used them under this API but that's probably the best place to start.

Well 2.0.1 is out and i was hoping for a fix for the second monitor color profile bug ... but no, not yet.
But guess what .. i think i have found another little treat.
Ok here we go, click on the Exposure, Recovery or Black Point sliders (but don't move them), notice anything?
On my system as soon as you click, the shadows block up. Take your finger of the button and they shadows go back to normal.
Next .. click and slide, when the button is down... blocked shadows again, release the button and shadows open up.
This also happens in the White balance panel.
Also we still have the tint slider problem, click it and it jumps the tint.
The exposure and white balance problem only happens in full screen mode.
It happens on my second monitor when running in mirror or alternate (or any other of the settings)
If i press the F key and go full screen on my macbook pro, the same thing happens on the macbook's screen.
Press the Z key to zoom to 100% and the problem goes away on either screen.
But get this ..... click any of the sliders in the Enhance panel before going to the Exposure panel (you don't have to move them), then go back to the exposure panel and...EVERYTHING FINE.....whaaaaaaat.
So now i have a second monitor with dodgy colors and an exposure panel glitch.
Thought this was an update!!!
Anyone else got this problem?
Oh, just to add, i have deleted pref files, deleted aperture altogether, re-installed 2.0 and 2.0.1, rebuilt library, tried on another library...all with no joy.

As much as I hate to say it.... I am going to be buying my very first iPod..... I hate saying it, but yesterdays announcement of iPod partnering with Nike to give you an MP3 player that has a plug in accessory that calculates Running Pace and gives you the ability to program in interval workouts was the straw that broke the camels back. I really love my Creative Zen Sleek, and I love the fact that I can download unlimited music from Yahoo!Unlimited service.... The killer of the entire deal is accessories, or lack there of from creative players. Apple and iPod hit the mark with this one and thier Nano.... It gives you verbal feedback of how far you've run, avg pace, and has the ability to change to an uptempo song if you've prerecorded an interval workout.
Sorry creative, you missed the mark. Prehaps you should watch and learn from the TV Show Apprentice, because if this were a task between two teams, you would have just been crushed, and ended up in the board room where someone would be fired.
The electronics industry by nature is a very low profit margin biz. You can't expect that just selling the players is where the bucks lie. You have to figure out a way to sell the player, and then cash in on all of the little accessories once those people have purchased thier product. That's where the cash is, and Apple has capitolized on this market.
I love your product, it is a thing of beauty and sounds great..... It's just not 00% there.

Yeah sure im going to go buy a 200$ pair of shoes and a 50$ nano adapter, a 200$ nano and convert all my music to .acc format (and me stuck with ipods for the rest of my life) just to know how little callories im actually burning while running around my house.

I'm sort of new to Java so I'll need some help on this one. I'm not new to programming, though. My question is how do you open a file in java for reading and writing. I want to be able to attach the file input stream to the data input stream so I can read stuff like integers, characters, booleans, strings, ascii characters, etc. How do I do this! Maybe a sample of code will be more clear...

This is not the right forum for your question. Try the regular "Java Programming" forum.
However, that code does look reasonable, except for using System.out in the second part. And naming variables with an initial capital letter will drive other Java programmers nuts.
When you repost this in the other forum, make sure to give details on exactly where it freezes and any other relevant symptoms. (Also check out the [c0de] tag for posting code snippets.)

Benchmarks: Dynamic Overclocking on the P965 Neo-F is a big lie!

I've just upgraded to the 1.5 BIOS and decided to run some benchmarks. What I found was interesting, so I thought I'd share:
I set the DOC function to General, which should give a 15% boost to the FSB when the processor is under heavy load. I wanted to see how much that will improve CPU performance compared to when DOC is disableled.
To test I transcoded an album from the lossless APE format to mp3 using Monkey's Audio and Lame 3.96. I chose this software because it reliably maxes out both of my cores, since Monkey's Audio can be set to do two separate encoding tasks simultaneously: one on each core. Lame itself is assembler optimized to use the processor's fancy vector extensions, ensuring a really maximal CPU load. The command line options I used in Lame are: -V 2 -q 0 --lowpass 19.4 --cwlimit 10.7 --scale 0.99 -mj -b96
Here are the results for my system (E6300, P965 Neo-F BIOS 1.5, GeForce 7600GT):

To confirm these results I ran 3DMark05 at the default settings with the FSB set at 280. My scores: 5637 with DOC disabeled, 5628 with DOC on General (+15%).
In other words, Dynamic Overclocking on the P965 Neo-F is hopelessly broken. It doesn't actually improve performance and sometimes it seriously damages it! Can anyone confirm that this is so?

My test results:

The most shocking thing about the numbers is that at 266FSB, DOC actually underclocks your CPU just when you need it most. This also beautifully explains the performance results I got above. But if you look carefully, DOC seems to work just as it's supposed to when you bump the FSB to 267. Higher than that, though, I haven't found a frequency at which it works correctly. Generally, it underclocks, and underclocks more the lower the "rank" is that you choose. The exception to this is 333, where DOC seems to neither overclock nor underclock.

How do I make a jar of netbeans (or anything big)?

I was searching for a jar file of netbeans and instead found a different installation file per operating sytem. I am not complaining about this but I want to make a jar out of this (or another big problem) for the sake of learning how (a jar actually does have some benefits like bringing a program on a flash drive and making sure it works on all operating systems and CPU architectures). For small programs that I made myself, I basically have to make the class files in lets say directory "programDir" (without the quotes). I then make a file called x.mf and in it put "Main-class: MyClass" (without the quotes) followed by the "jar -cmf x.mf nameOfJarFile.jar *.class" command (without the quotes).
I think the process is made more difficult when involving packages? So apart from the package issue, I think all I need to do is *1)* find the source code of lets say netbeans *2)* figure out which is the class with the main method in it.
And yes, I have trouble finding the source code of netbeans! I downloaded the "OS-independent zip" and found a few .java files but it didn't seem to be the entire program!
Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Big Problem with KT4V. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

At first I describe you my confiugaration.

And now the problem.
It appears when the procesor is set to XP 1700+. After the temerature of processor rise obove 55 C my computer is shutdown automaticly even if the bios option "critical CPU themerature" is disabled. When it happens something like alarm siren goes off. It is one high and one low sound.
Another big problem is dramaticaly low ( even 20% - after one hour work ) "system resources". I dont know if it is call like that in english so it is START->Settings->Control Panel->System->"performance".
Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

First thing you might want to do is get a new PSU. Anything under 300W is pretty much going to make for an unstable system for any processor like yours. AMD recommends(if I remember correctly) 300W or better and also read up on this sticky, I think it will help you out.

Big troble with 6163Pro

I have a motherboard-
MS6163 VER:2
Chip 6163Pro
Cpu 500 Mhz
Ram 256 Mb
HDD 80 Gb + 4 Gb
I was unable to install 80 Gb HDD in my computer,it was unable to detect 80 Gb HDD.
I flash BIOS with w6263v39.exe and that helps,now my computer detect large HDD.
BUT!!!
Now i seems to have another BIG problem.
I am unable to install Windows on it,computer hanging under installation.
Under installation with Windows98 SE its hanging just in the last secunds of installations just then i can see the green deskboard before ve welcome-board.
Under installations with other Windows-versions fex with WindowsXP it hangs up in the middle of the install.
If i install Win98 on another computer and then skift HDD back to this it works propertly but not if i do so with WinXP.
That can i do.
Can i modify the biossetting maby and if i can,how??
Have anyone of you maby had the same problem before me with this.
I have searsh in the forum but i cant find any solutions for my problem.

Than i reset with the (jumper) for a few days ago coudn´t i see if its beeing any different with that.
That only load setup default in the bios.
Today i have laborate with bios again and discover that if i flashing bios with w6163mj v31 so was it possible again to install any Windows-version that i want again.
But with that bios i cant drive the 80Gb HDD so for that i must load 6163 v39 again after i have installed Windows on the computer with the large second-HDD unplugged.
Then i do so everything worked propertly again if i dont drive the hardeware detecting program in controlmeny.
If i do that the computer discover that i have modify bios? It says ACPI(Advanced Configuration and Pover Interface)Bios and Plug and Play Bios - removed.
If i let the computer than update as it should are the computer hangig totally again and i must do the same hole prosedure with skift bios, fdisk,format,install windows and skift bios again before it is working propertly again with large HDD and everything.
Do you think it is possible to hide this bios-moved for the computer,can i take that away somehow do you think?
If i can´t im not able nomore to drive the hardware-program too see if i have new hardeware installed anymore.
If it discover any other new hardewarws in computer it will update all program at the same time and that is not so good idea if you know that i mean.
What is it means with bios is removed?
