N8 - applications hangs - camera, music player, video player, photos.
These applications are hanging very very frequently. i have to restart my phone again and again due to this. i am not happy with this.
Can somebody help me on this.

There's an update for apps, go to yr N8's Menu > Applications > SW Updates
Have you guys done that yet?
So far my N8 is working fine without hang-ups even before the update I mentioned. Installed 20+ apps now.

Music player not refreshing the memory card in Nok...

Hi All,
I have , once, removed my mobile phone from data cable without safety remove and there it gave me lot of troubles. My facebook was not able to be connected through the provided application and my music player stopped working as and stopped refreshing saying that "File corrupted"
Finally. i removed my memory card, formatted it and made it worked.
Nokia should consider fixing these issues as we respect them a lot and think that they are still the #1 hardware vendor and will keep giving us good options than Samsung - android and will compete with apple phones.

It already states that removing your cable without properly ejecting the device will cause problems with the software and memory card inside your device.
This issue is user side removing the cable early. To prevent further corruptions, please safely remove hardware from your desktop.

E51 Music Player hang...

Bought the E51 one month ago..
Recently found that the Music Player hang whenever I start the application..
Anyone faced the similar problem before?

Your MP should work if remove your Memory card from your phone
When it works back up your data in your card using pc suite (simply copy paste) then format your card
Then try it inside your phone again, it should work
If it doesnt go to nearest nokia care centre

PC Windows 7 is now showing iPod Touch (4th Gen) as a digital camera instead of music player

I somehow lost my entire iTunes library on my PC Windows 7 (64 bit) and need to restore it to my PC. When I try to copy the songs from my iPod Touch Version 4.1.2, it shows up as a digital camera device rather than a music player device and only gives photo box to type into. It also does not show up as ipod_control in the ipod drive folders. I followed all instructions but cannot accomplish anything. I also tried to follow instructions provided for the digital camera device to no avail. I have the most recent installed version of iTunes 12 and all my drivers are up to date. Can anyone help me resolve this problem? Thank you so much for your courtesy.

You need a third-party program as discussed here to get non-iTunes purchases from the iPod to a computer.

Camera and music player quality deteriorated on n8...

i recently bought an n8 with belle pre-installed. I was quite disappointed with the results of the camera and the sound of it's music player. The music player with headphones on produces a very soft sound and it is the worst i sound i have ever gotten from a nokia. Compared with the n8s on anna and the original software i have seen, it has been greatly deteriorated with belle installed. My c6-01 and e6 gives even clearer pictures and has a whole lot better sound quality. Could nokia please immediately release a fix for these. I certainly think nokia would lose so much more loyal customers with this botched belle upgrade or i should say downgrade.

yeah i agree..n8 has loose his camera quality after this belle update...i am very disappointed with nokia.the best camera mobile phone has lost it quality..

My Music Player hangs after the latest firmware up...

I have a 5800 Xpress music phone. I updated the firmware yesterday to the latest version (V40.0.005). And also added some songs from OVI suite. Now my music player hangs all the time. I dont know what to do. And need to restart the phone again to get rid of the problem. Sometimes even if i restart it wont work. Then i need to remove the battery and then restart. So please help. I am frustrated.

After I updated my 5800 to v 40 - i did a soft reset (wiping the phonememory) and a format of the memorycard to make sure the device was cleared for glitches. Atm my 5800 is working like a charm. Actually quite a bit better than my n97.

Looking for a good music player application........

Hey everyone,
I am still looking for a great music player app for the Bionic and wonder if anyone could provide some good suggestions. The apps I have tried have all had something wrong with it
1) The bionic stock app is ok, but the lock screen widget is very small and a pain when driving and have to be precise when hitting the skip button, otherwise, it dissapears
2) Google music app doesnt have a lock screen widget, wth?
3) Power Amp is probably my favorite, but has 2 big bugs...ill be listening to music thru my ear buds and when i get any sort of notification, the music goes thru the phone speaker, and i listen to my music very loud. Also, when listening to music and having navigation going at the same time, the music still plays when the navigation voice kicks in, on other apps, the music stops
4) MixZing doesnt have an option that allows you to go to the home screen from the lock widget, it only allows you to go the device lock screen making you have to unlock the phone twice
As you can tell, the lock widget is a big deal since I listen to music in my car often while having the navigation going. Any suggestions? I may just trash this phone with the data issues and drop another 300 for the Rezound since the reviews have been good (so far) but until then, was wondering if there is an all out good music app out there.

Stock lock screen does not normally support 3rd party widgets so you wont find any third party players that allows you access while on lock screen.. N78 music player hangs..

my n78 got two problems..1.when ever i open the music player it starts searching music..and never stops..it even searches in the backgrond..the only remedy is to restart...2..four keypad lights not working including the caller keys..so i am planning to change the phone..does the n82 will be a better choice?? pls help me out

HI again. installed and then uninstalled both Mackeeper and Blackberry with their software. Etrecheck still shows the same 'failed to load' error. Pasted below. 5800 Express Music - Music player will not open

My 5800 music player will not open. I can open the radio and every other application in that folder except the music player. please help!!

Are you able to play the songs from the File Manager in the handset? If yes, try Restore Factory Settings in the handset. Press Menu > Settings > Phone > Phone Management > Factory Settings. If you are not able to play the songs even from from the File Manager, then try Hard Resetting the handset. Power Off the handset. Hold the 2 calls (Red & Green) & the Camera key & proceed to power on the device, while holding the three keys (green, red and camera). Keep holding down the 3 keys until after the handshake screen.
Make sure you Back-Up the Phone Data before Hard Resetting the device.

E72 Optical Key seems to make the Music Player use...

... given that if you go anywhere near it, it jumps towards the start of the track. However, if you disable it, then you can't focus the camera. Any workarounds?
And while we're on the topic of the Music Player, I find it pretty bad that you can't exit out of the application and then have it pick up playing where you left off. I don't mean let it keep going in the background - I mean actually leave the Music Player. This seems like pretty basic functionality. Makes listening to podcasts on the phone very tedious. Am I missing something? Is there a way to pick up where you left off?

I suppose I've been spoilt by having a previous phone with dedicated music player buttons. I wish there was a way to have this on the E72 although I realise that media playing isn't the focus of the phone.
As for autofocus with the optical key off - I know that you can still take the photo, but you can't pre-focus and then decide not to take the photo at all. Maybe not a biggie but still an annoyance.
Sometimes the optical key creates more problems than it solves. As I've said in another post, I'm pretty sure it's responsible for moving the cursor in Maps without any input at all.

Droid Music Player Anomaly

Interesting anomaly: When I have my Bluetooth earpiece in and I answer a call, the Music Player starts when I hang up. I haven't started the application--it starts on its own. I took the phone to a Verizon Tech Support site where they completely reloaded the OS ... which was interesting and helped with new updates, but did not stop the anomaly. I have to go to the phone and "pause" the music to stop it from playing.

I just went through this with my TB upgrade. With regard to album art, WMP sync is simply not copying the jpegs (^Note1). The good news is that WMP properly organizes your music to enable "syncing" to your device. Here's what to do:
1. Mount your phone as a USB mass storage and open the $removable_drive/Music folder (where $Removable_drive is the drive letter assigned to your phone's USB storage). (^Note 2).
2. Select/Copy folders under "My Music" directory and Paste into "$Removable_drive/Music/" (^Note 3).
^Note 1: The jpegs are stored as hidden system files in a given My Music/$Artist/$Album/ folder but are not getting copied during a WMP sync.
^Note 2: Under "$removable_drive/Music/" you'll notice the same folder hierarchy as in your WMP libraries, e.g. "My Music".
^Note 3: Since the folder hierarchies are the same, you can just drag/drop the file folders into your $removable_drive/Music folder -- this is the way music is intended to be "sync'd" in Android. This copies the hidden system files as well. In my case, I first deleted the folders on my phone, so I didn't have to worry about over-writing files during the paste.

Music Player forgets place and starts over

So I use both the native HTC music player and have also used the DoubleTwist music app and have experienced this issues with everything.
ISSUE: My music and podcasts will start over after I pause and come back later and hit "play" to resume
Details:
I have used multiple combinations of syncing methods and music player applications and cannot pinpoint the cause or find a fix. If I pause a podcast or song, come back to it later either after using the phone, browsing the web, or switching from car aux to headset and hit play, the mp3 will start from the beginning. It does not happen 100% of the time which makes this very hard to troubleshoot / diagnose
Further info / troubleshooting:
I have installed the Doubletwist handheld app / desktop client and synced my music to SD card. Issue occurs with player app and desktop widget on device.
I have completely deleted all mp3 files from SD card and re synced my entire library using the iSyncr app with iTunes
I have used both the HTC native player & widget - same issue
I have installed the Pure music widget which integrates with the HTC native player - same issue
I have done standard battery reset
I have performed full factory reset
Issue seems to have a lot to do with plugging in / out headphones or running other apps like browser or email while mp3 is paused. If I pause and exit out and then to back in the app to resume it works just fine. But if its and extended period of time or running other apps for a while it occurs almost guaranteed. Maybe it has to do with other processes heavily using the OS resources and clearing out the music cache
My Incredible came with 2.2 but some people seem to be complaining on other forums that this issue began with the 2.2 updated but I never had 2.1 to verify issue on
I have been unable to pinpoint the exact cause as sometimes it will resume but most of the time it will restart when I hit play. There are many other forums that have reported and this issue does not seem to be limited to the Incredible but may be an HTC issue in general with 2.2
Whatever the issue is, this is a HUGE annoyance. Especially when I am in the middle of a 2 hour podcast I loose my spot and have to drag around the scrub bar for 5 minutes trying to find out where I was. Anyone that has used the iphone or ipod knows this feature works flawlessly and even remembers your places when you switch from one podcast to another and go back. Anyone else seen this issue?

Music Player battery life

I was just wondering if the more experienced users could inform me on this issue...
I have an N78, running S60 3rd ed FP2, and my music playing life is around 20 hours. N79 and N85, which are running on the same platform (S60 3rd FP2) have claimed music life of 30 hours. N79 has exactly the same battery type and capacity as N78, and i'm guessing similar processor/hardware to the N78. I was wondering if Nokia would be able to increase the Music Player music playing time of N78 in future firmware updates, or is it actually a hardware based-issue and not FP2 leading to improved consumption improvements?
if someone with technical knowledge could shed some light on this it would be nice

it says that: "Since the Nokia N85 runs on similar hardware as the Nokia N78 and N79 and employs the same Feature Pack 2, it's safe to say that Nokia have done a great job fine-tuning the system's code to allow for longer battery life."
though i do agree with you el_loco that it is a different flavour of FP2, from reviews i've read it seems that N79 and N85 have a much more refined version of FP2 with some additional applications installed
we can only pray that future firmware updates will include these code tweaks, but it may very well be unlikely that an increase in music playback time will occur

Nokia c5-03 music player problem

Due to very short phone memory in my c5-03, i was deleting some of the installed applications, i have deleted some of the music player installable also it seems. Because till then, i was able to open the music players. But from then, iam not able to open the music player itself.
Please let me know how to rectify the issue
