N8 Auxillary Speakers/ in car use

Just got my N8 very pleased with it just a couple of points I hope some one can help with....
1. When I use the MP3 jack in my car to play tunes the phone automatically defaults to headphones and then goes automatically into voice recognition mode and won't play music. I've tried all avenues and cannot get the voice recognition to disable when in the car or it to play.
2. Similar problem - I have a set of Nokia external speakers and again cannot get this to register - the phone automatically goes to default headphones and won't play through the speakers.
I know I'm probably being dim but any help/ a point in the right direction would be appreciated.
Thanks

• N95 in-car use - what are Nokia playing at?!

I have for some time been using a Nokia 6680 in my car, using a ck-7w car kit and a cr-27 holder. This works great, I have handsfree calling, I can charge my phone whenever I get in the car by putting it in the cradle & I have tomtom 5 mobile which works great, even muting the radio to give directions etc because it all integrates nicely.
Now Nokia have brought out the N95 and I thought great, satnav and phone in one device. So I have upgraded.
Guess what? Nokia N-series devices are "consumer" devices which don't get a special in-car holder. You what?!
The N95 works fine with the ck-7w using bluetooth, but it doesn't have a pop-port so you can't use the ck7w cable. The only way to use it in the car is with a generic holder and a cigarette lighter charger. There is no custom holder for it. To be honest I would be happy even if all the holder did was charge the phone and hold it - I'm happy with bluetooth connection to the car kit.
This has to be the most brain dead thinking from Nokia I have ever seen. I have been using Nokia phones with car kits since the 2010, 2140, nk702 (6130), 6110, 6210, 6310 & 6680. Like I said, my 6680 has tomtom mobile 5 sat nav installed. But guess what, the N95, a phone with BUILT IN SAT NAV has no in-car charger cradle, so you can't use it neatly in a car?!?!
Can anyone who has this working explain the process to get a bluetooth connection from the N95 to the CK-7W? I just seem not to be able to pair the two.
Hi, I've got this working. I have a holder for the 6680 in place using cable connection as well. Haven't tried to connect them both at the same time, but I guess that's not what you want.
To get this working. In my situation, the carkit when using my 6680 always works. I don't need to have the keys. For the bluetooth connection I do have to have the power on (turn the key until you can play your radio, onboard lights turn on, etc.). After you turn on the power, let your N95 search for a new bluetooth device. In my situation, it found the CK-7W in just a few seconds. Then pair with the device using the 0000 password.Message Edited by jarnodewit on 29-Apr-200702:30 PM

• Connecting new iPod Touch to stereo or car using 1/8" auxiliary cable

I am having troubles connecting my new iPod Touch to my stereo and car using a 1/8" auxiliary cable. I plugged the cable into the headphone port on the iPod Touch (just as I always do with my iPod nano) and no sound comes out. The headphone port works fine when I have my earbuds plugged in. I have tried two different cables that both worked with other devices (a nano and a XM radio). Am I missing something? Is there a special cable that I should be using?
Appreciate any help that you can give me. Thanks!

I feel really stupid now...I didn't realize the volume had to be ALL the way up! Thanks.

• Ipod nano 5 in car use

Why when the ipod nano 5 was designed was no thought given to in car use?
It is impossible to connect a 3.5mm jackplug to the car's auxilary socket, and connect the USB charging cable  at the same time, as there is insufficient clearance between the plugs!
It is also impossible to find a slim enough jack plug,or auxilary cable to enable this!
Would it have been possible to mount the 3.5mm jack socket at the top of the nano chassis, and keep the USB cable socket at the bottom of the nano chassis?

• Nissan/Infiniti cars use Clarion L42A for Bluetooth - please fix the Pre!!!

ATTENTION PALM:
I have contacted Nissan USA's Consumer Affairs.  They have a dedicated area for Bluetooth set-ups on Nissan & Infiniti cars.  You can reach them through (800) NISSAN-1 (or 800-647-7261) and ask for the Bluetooth Set-up line.
Almost ALL Nissan & Infiniti cars use the same controller for Bluetooth.  It is the Clarion LT42A, Bluetooth version 2.1.1.  It is the compatability problem between the Pre and this unit which is causing the static and dropped calls.
You now have the information that you need to resolve this issue.  STOP GIVING US THE RUN-AROUND!!  FIX THIS PROBLEM!!!

• How to choose the speakers Flash Player uses?

How on earth do I choose the speakers which Flash Player uses?
I downloaded the latest Flash Player, and it worked fine. Then I had a Skype conversation, and now Flash uses the same "speakers" which Skype uses ie a USB headset.Flash player can no longer see the computer's speakers.
There seems to be absolutely no way in the web-based setup to tell Flash Player which sound output to choose. In Windows control panel (WIn XP SP3) the defaults for both sound and voice playback are set to the speakers (Realtek HD Audio) -  Windows media player plays correctly over the speakers.  If I right-click on an embedded video, I get a settings manager which lets me choose the microphone and camera Flash Player uses, but not the speakers.  And I can't choose the speakers  in the general sound controls of the Realtek HD audio, because those controls have no way of referring to any individual program. It is wierd!!!!
I don't think there is anything cracked or broken - it was fine this morning, now not. How do I get sound coming out of the speakers again?
Many thanks

• TS1286 MY MUSIC WILL PLAY THROUGH THE IPOD BUT NOT THROUGH ANY DOCKING STATION SPEAKERS. IT USED TO, BUT JUST SUDDENLY STOPPED.

My music will play through my ipod speakers, but it won't work through docking station speakers. It used to but then just suddenly stopped. Can anyone help??

• My ipod nano doesn't work in my new car using the usb

my ipod nano won't play music in my new car using the usb.  It works fine with earphones, and music displays in car but won't play?

And I have one more question, when I connect my iPod,
iTunes turns on automatically and the iPod is seen,
but it's not seen in "My Computer". Is that ok?
Since you have the iPod set at auto sync the ipod would not show in "My Computer" (someone correct me if I am wrong). If you were able to successfully switch it to manual it would show as it would be in disk mode. So I would say that this is ok.
I have done a search for the error -50 you keep getting and can't find anything. At this point I would suggest contacting Apple support to see if they can give you some insight on this error. One thing though...have you tried uninstalling iTunes from your computer completely and then re-installing it to make sure it's not an issue with your current copy of iTunes? Also, have you tried to go through the 5 R's?
http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/
If you have not gone through the 5 R's, please try that first and see if it helps. If not, then try un-installing and then re-installing iTunes. If that does not work, then it would probably be beneficial to call Apple Support.

If your car supports Phone Book Access Profile(PBAP), you don't need to do anything on your phone other than pair. The phone supports PBAP.

Ok, if you are connecting the AirPort Express Base Station (AX) to the existing wireless network, then the DSL in the next room is most likely a combination DSL modem and wireless router. Thanks for clarifying that for me.
Although they may only be separated by a single wall, the building material used in that wall may be enough to prevent the AX from receving a "good" signal from the DSL router.
Since I don't know what computing equipment you have available, please check out this AirPort User Tip: AirPort - Optimal Base Station Placement to see if you can get some SNR measurements at the location of your AX. To do this properly, you will want to power-off the AX and only get these measurements for the DSL router.

My Macbook Pro has recently started to mute/unmute itself randomly. VERY FRUSTRATING! It doesn't matter whether I have speakers connected or using the onboard speakers. Any suggestions?
I have looked at other forums and the fixes suggested do NOT work.
What would cause this?
How is it corrected?

Hello DChrystal
Try paying attention to the Keyboard Viewer to see if any keys are being pressed that could be causing the sound to be muted. If it is, try it in another user to see if it is software that is causing the issue or if it is the actual keyboard that is having the issue.
One or more keys on the keyboard do not respond

• IHome Air Series Speakers to be useed with Airplay

Does anyone know if I can use with ITunes AirPlay off my Imac or does it only work with Ipod/Ipad?

Hi radosuaff,
If I could give the following illustration - a guy owns a flaming-red Ferrari but chooses to drive around the hood with the
car covers over. No biggie. Same sleek design and powerful engine but perhaps with a tiny drag in aerodynamics.
Depending on your environment, you can have the covers on to protect the speakers' driver cones when not in use. When you want to play music, you can remove them and listen to audio that's "a bit brighter".
And for bragging rights, you can remove the covers for that 'photogenic' look.
Cheers,

• Creation of a product description field of length 250 car. used for search?

Hi all,
we need to create a specific description field for products  with a length of 250 (the standard description is too short at 40 car, =>table COMM_SHTXT) . That field should also be added to the search criteria.
What would be the best solution for this creation , given that the field must exist also in ECC SD from where the product is replicated to CRM :
-creation of a Z-append to the product table in ECC (table MARA?) and a corresponding include in the product table in CRM (COMM_PRODUCT) ?
-creation of an attribute in ECC (or Z-append) and creation of a "set attribute" in CRM (i.e transaction COMM_ATTRSET), but there are warning in CRM when you create an attribute of length > 132.
-using the standard Texts (no limitation of lenght) attached to products : is a search possible on these texts?or too complicated/poor performance ?
Regarding the display in CRM UI, is it possible to display all the 250 caracters  if the field is a customized "set attribute" or a Z-append? It seems that it is not possible to display a string field on more than one line in the UI configuration, or even, on more than 8 columns in an assignment block?
thanks for your help
Ludovic

well, I have found at least how to replace the error message (length of max 75 car  for PC UI) . Instead of trying to edit manually table T100C, there is an entry in customizing SPRO (cross appl/SAP Product/basic settings/Define Characteristics of System Messages
) which allows to customize standard messages , and so change from Error to Warning.

• Are There Any Other Speakers You Can Use with MacPro Besides 5.1?

I have Logitech Z5500 speakers on my PowerMac G5 and I wanted to get speakers for the MacPro but not the 5.1 speakers because I don't want to crowd it up with 5 more speakers. But it seems like the only speakers that have the optical port are the 5.1 speakers and they don't have 2 optical ports to support both computers.
Do I have any other choices? Any ideas??
