N8 Belle Hotmail Folder Sync Problems

Hi, recently I had to do a software reinstall due to a faulty SIM and when I reconnected to my Hotmail it no longer shows my hotmail folders (other than the usual inbox/outbox etc), and it's not syncing deletions or read mail when I go to hotmail via my PC. It worked fine before but I can't seem to find a solution online or from thoroughly checking through all the settings on my phone. Can anyone help?
Thanks.

Hi guzzmann,
The issue is usually caused by Nokia Messaging security feature, which connects the SIM card information to the Messaging account.  Usually  removing the mailbox and setting it up again will get it working.
Hope this helps,
Puigchild

I have problem when update to belle the folder of games disappear??  c7
I need to solve ??? Plus

Do you mean that pink folder w/ the controller icon on it?  I lost that too on my N8.  Actually, lost all of the folders that came with Anna like Applications & Music.  Wish I could get them back as now I can only make the generic yellow folder which isn't as aesthetically appeasing.
However, reading articles on Belle there was a picture of a Belle N8 with the games folder shortcut on the homescreen - so maybe it still exists & I just cannot find it.
Good luck & I'll let you know if I figure this out.

  • Problems with hotmail re. sync. contacts & email on Iphone & Macbook Air

    HI,
I have an Iphone 5c and a macbook air and I use a hotmail account. Problems that I encounter:
    - hotmail:  emails arrive on all devices but do not sync, for example when I delete emails on one device I also have to do this manually on another device
    - contacts: contacts on Iphone do not sync with macbook air
    (I use Imap for hotmail).
How to solve this? Now thinking about exchanging hotmail account for Icloud email account. Will this solve both problems?
    Kind regards,
    Brigitte

Hello. Do you see all accounts in "Mail, Contacts and Calendars?"
If you do, make sure you have hecked the boxes of the feartures of each account to work on your Mac. Example, I have a Google account, and when I click on it, I can select if I want to sync Mail, Calendars, Notes or Messages.
Please take note that I am referring to setting them up on the MacBook Air and not the iPhones.
    Hope this helps.

  • ICal Print List Hang / Font Issue / Sync Problems...

Okay, here's a couple issues all wrapped up into one thread/post - reason is cause I suspect they may all be tied together somehow, but am not sure.
    Sync Problems...
Regarding the Syncing problems, you can find an ongoing thread about @ http://forums.markspace.com/viewtopic.php?t=1632
In short, some of us are having issues with events syncing to our Palm to the wrong timezone, causing them to be an hour off (usually within the new & old DST date change). Yes, all the usual fixes have been tried - pls read the thread noting "adairnet" and ymatto" postings.
Also, in addition to this time issue, I have iCal events that I've deleted in iCal still show up on the Palm after one-way syncing!
    Print List Hang...
Every week I print a "list" of events from a certain calendar. The past couple weeks I noticed some lines in the notes field printing on top of each other. Twas odd indeed, but I hadn't had the time to look into the reason. Then this week I was going thru my usual printing proceedure and now iCal locks up, hangs up, crashes, forcing me to force-quit the program. It's usually after I extend the dates beyond 2 or 3 days, but I've not been able to find a consistency. I've redone events thinking they were corrupt with no success.
    Font Problems...
After the Print List issue above, I opened my Console program to see if it was reporting anything. At first it indicated that it could not find Helvetica Neue and would substitute it for Helvetica. This put me in touch with some font corruption - so I got rid of those bad fonts and activated Helvetica Neue which got rid of that message. But made me wonder if there are more font problems causing the print hanging & syncing problems. I have FontAgent Pro and do have some font issues that I'm trying to work out.
But the Console is displaying another string of messages every time the Print List proceedure hangs up which I cannot figure out...

So, all of this is causing me to wonder if the iCal or SyncServices database is corrupt. Is there a way to dig into the iCal db and check for corruption &/or fix it?
Or does anybody have any further suggestions on any of these issues?
    thanx.jason.

    RedKamel,
The SyncServices folder should be avoided like "a swarm of bees". This article discusses some of the issues that can arise when the SyncServices folder is deleted or modified:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301920
Data loss and Data corruption can result from deleting or modifying the SyncServices folder, and that data loss or corruption can be propogated to devices, .Mac, and other applications that sync with SyncServices.
If you have isolated an issue with the other steps in your post, I would recomend speaking with AppleCare before removing that folder.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • Mobile Account Sync Problem on Server

I am using home folder syncing on a network with an iMac and a MacBook Pro. The iMac is the Open Directory server where the network user home folders are stored, and is also a workstation used by the network users.
Does anyone know how to avoid this?
There was a problem connecting to the server "server.______.___".
This file server is available on your computer. Access the volumes and files locally.
It seems to happen regardless of whether I use the local home directories as the network shares, or another folder share.
    Thanks

Sorry to hear this is biting you too. I've been trying to figure out what causes this error for more than a year. Until then, I can't mount my Time Machine on my Macbook, so no backups. Amusingly, Migration Assistant managed to copy over the bug when I upgraded to a new Macbook. Thanks
Here's my ancient post asking about the same AFP mount error. Sorry I can't be more helpful

  • Itunes 10.2.2.12 - All Itunes 10 Version Sync problems

I am using Windows XP PC latest service pack, I have  a newer 5th Gen 16GB Ipod Nano, I now have the latest Itunes 10.2.2.12. Every since I have had this newer Ipod Nano, and with first version of Itunes 10, nothing but syncing problems. After calling  Apple Ipod Tech Support, and scouring Apple Help screens and forums, just like Apple Tech Support reps, the recommendation is mostly the same, they have me go through the grueling, time consuming process of Uninstalling and Re-installing Itunes, which I have done many times, sometimes it would help in syncing, many times not. Also tried other Apple support recommendation tricks with Apple Mobile Device too, and even upgraded to a Higher speed USB Port, again it would sync for a while and then eventually would start having same sync problems again, even after updating to the latest Itunes. Errors: Itunes is Unable to locate Ipod attached, or The required folder cannot be found.
When exactly will Apple tech Support put out a New Fully Stable Itunes Version to correct and remove these problems that occur over and  over again, with so many Ipod users online?? I am getting so frustrated, that I am looking for Itunes and even Ipod better alternatives to avoid these big time consuming headaches. Anybody have a Full solution, or at least somewhat permanent Solution to these Ipod sync Errors?? Thanks for your time.

well i'm running iTunes same vsn on a brand new iMac i7 2.93GHz and i'm constantly having to wait while the old beach ball of death appears. it usually only halts normal operation for 15 to 40secs but thats ridiculous enough. i've got 16Gb of DRAM and even with no other apps running this happens - and it happens about every 3 mins or so. crazy.
    9037 songs in the library.
i guess this is better than iPhoto 9 which crashed and refuses to boot full stop, in spite of several re-instals.
and i thought the new world of apple was gonna be rosy. hmmmm.

  • ITunes on Windows 8 Syncing Problems Solved!

NOTE: I have only had this problem on Windows 8, not Windows 7, so if you're having trouble on Windows 7, this might not help you.
If you are experiencing the issue where your device never fully syncs, disconnects halfway through, freezes after "waiting for changes to be applied," then I believe this solution will help you.
    Follow these steps:
    1) Locate your iTunes.exe file. This can be found by the following path: Start--> All Apps (little arrow that appears on bottom left of screen when you mouse over it) -->This PC (on the far right) --> whatever drive you installed iTunes on (if you are not sure, it is the C drive by default) --> Program Files (x86) --> iTunes --> in this folder you will see a file labeled "iTunes.exe" or just "iTunes" make sure you're NOT on the "iTunesHelper" icon for the next step.
    2) Right-click on the file and hit "Properties"
    3) Click the tab labeled "Compatibility"
    4) Check the box labeled "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
    5) Click the drop-down menu just underneath that check box and choose "Windows 7"
    6) Now check the box labeled "Run this program as an administrator
    7) Click "Apply"
    8) Click "Ok"
    9) All done! Now try syncing whatever device was giving you trouble and it should work. My iPhone had to sync about 3000 songs and it failed about halfway through, but all I had to do was restart the sync and it finished the remaining 1500 or so.
Just thought I should offer this tip for those of you running Windows 8 and having syncing problems .

Yes that is a standard fix:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

  • PC Sync Problem

I have a Nokia E61 and i used to Sync it by Bluletooth to my HP Notebook. I just purchased a Lenovo Notebook and downloaded the latest PC Suite. I installed it and tried to connect my E61 as usual, but it could never recognize it. My Bluetooth on Lenovo identified the phone no problem, but not the PC Suite. I have disabled the Anti Virus just in case. I even tried using the cable to connect, but without success.
Is there a sync problem with Nokia PC Suite and Lenovo? pls advise if others have had similar problems and what is the solution. THanks, Omar

I seem to have resolved this.
I created a back fodler in Outlook of my Calendar folder.
I deleted records from my Outlook Calendar folder
I then copied back in future appointments back into the Calendar folder from the backup,
I was then able to synchronise appointments with PCSync.
Not sure if there was some corruption with my Outlook calendar folder?

  • Sent Mail now put in seperate 'Sent Messages' folder - big problems

Never had this problem before. I have my MobileMe account set to sync everything to the server across my 10.5.8 MacBookPro and 3.0.1 iPhone 3GS. Sent Mail has always been put in the standard 'Sent' folder and we've got along fine.
The other day I was setting up my email on a 10.5.7 iMac and when it did the mail sync, it created a new folder called 'Sent Messages (.me)' and preceded to put all the synced up sent messages in this folder instead of the standard 'Sent' folder at the top of the Mail.app application.
Now its a right mess. On the iPhone I can not select 'Sent' in the 'On the Server' list when choosing where to put sent mail. It only offers 'Sent' 'On My iPhone' and shows the 'Sent Messages (.mac)' on the other list.
How do I hit the reset button and get this back to where it was before with 'Sent' folder sync bliss?
Do I need to remove the accounts from all machines and start again?
Could 10.5.7 on the iMac be the culprit?
    Many thanks.

    Maybe not...
I've had the same symptoms suddenly appear while using an IMAP account. Sent mail is no longer saved in the Sent folder -- unlike you, I can't find any of my new Sent mail. (but mail sent from my iPhone does show up) The same flurry of extra IMAP-related folders has also appeared, including the "Sent Messages" folder, just below the "Sent" folder.
So, it doesn't seem to be a .mac issue. I hadn't changed any settings today before I noticed that it started happening.

  • Sync. problem with Address Book

    Dear all,
I had a sync problem between my iPhone and the Mac Address Book, when I update some contacts with a picture and then when I try to sync iPhone the contacts came without the picture.
I add some pics from the iPhone to the iPhone contact and try to sync and it was working.
Is it only one sync or we should be able to do that from Address Book to iPhone and iPhone to Address Book.
    Thanks for your advice.
    Regards
    Florian

    Hi...
First, sorry about my, english... rsss
To repair this problem, you need make some steps:
    0. Backup your adress book first anything.
    1. Create a new Folder, put group per group of your adress book inside.
    2. Close Itunes and Adress Book
    3. Put the Isync preferences, inside system preferences to "Manually".
    4. Delete all inside the: ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook
    5. Open Adress Book, that is empty.
    6. Create your first group, and click in the correspondent group inside the folder created.
    7. After put all contact back, use Itunes that is ok now....

  • FCX 2 sync problem....not what I thought.

Folks...for whatever reason, when I try to import clips from my Sony minidv camera, I'm getting dropped frame warnings and a loss of audio sync. I'm using FCX 2.0.3 and Quicktime 7.1.6. I seem to remember (somewhere) that using the wrong version of Quicktime can cause this to happen. This is an IMac G5 with 768mb, running OSX 10.4.9, FCX 2.0.3 and Quicktime 7.1.6.
Taking the same camera to another machine, a G4 running FCP 5, I don't have the sync problems, but I did get a warning that my audio was not recorded at the same rate as that at which I was trying to capture. I changed the bitrate from 12 bit to 16 bit on the camera and that took care of the warning on the FCP box, but didn't do anything for my problem on my FCX 2 station.
A few other details...this is the first time I've used FCX since my system board and hard drive on the IMac G5 were replaced. Also at that time we went to OSX 10.4.9 from 10.3.X. Could this be any part of the problem?
    many thanks....from a relative rookie.
    Mike Nassour

As Michel told you - ALL versions of FCE before FCE 3.5 can be affected when using OSX 10.4.9.
The problem of dropped frames can be caused by a conflict between Spotlight and 10.4.9.
If you don't want to update the OS you can try this simple workaround :-
    1. Open System Preferences and select Spotlight.
    2. Select the Privacy Folder.
    3. Drag FCE's Capture Scratch folder into it. That's it !
Don't worry about "moving" your Capture Scratch folder - you haven't really done anything to it except tell Spotlight to ignore it.
With luck you should be able to capture without dropped frames.
    Ian.

  • New Ipod Classic syncing problems, restoring problems

    Hello,
Just got my 80gb Ipod Classic yesterday, and have had syncing problems, and now Itunes does not recognize it at all.
I'm using the latest version of Itunes (7.6.2.9)
Ipod Firmware 1.1.2 (or whatever the newest is)
    Windows XP Pro
I'm a long-time user of a 5g 30gb Ipod and never have had issues like this. I am syncing to the same Itunes library as my old Ipod. Connecting my new Ipod Classic, I updated the firmware, and tried to sync. Halfway through the sync, I got an error. I disconnected the ipod and reset it. I tried syncing again, and again it would hang at some point, had to disconnect, and then it said my ipod had no music, but with 60gb free only. So obviously a database problem on the ipod and some mp3 files that my new ipod classic didn't like (though my old 5g ipod has no problem with this library).
Next, I connected and did a Restore.
I removed the culprit mp3 files from Itunes Library, attempted to sync again. Again, it would freeze at some point during sync. Had to disconnect Ipod while Itunes was frozen. Again, Ipod says has no music but with only about 60gb free.
So Ipod is corrupted again. The problem is when I connect it to my PC, Itunes no longer recognizes it, so I can't do a Restore. What do I do?

Just wanted to post my results, for future users benefit:
Putting my Ipod into Disk Mode, connected to computer, Itunes recognized it, performed a Restore.
    Still had syncing/freezing issues.
Decided that my Itunes library database was corrupted. Went into My Documents > My Music, and deleted the Itunes Folder, except for the containing Artwork Folder.
Have been rebuilding my Library from scratch since, and have had no syncing problems yet again.
Only problem is that in the outermost Podcast menu, it is always empty. The only conveninent way to access my Podcasts is to make a playlist and put them all in it.

  • Identify Persona Syncing Problems - Log entires

    Hi all,
we're still encountering random syncing problems with view persona management (files not syncing from persona share, sometimes no files at all, sometimes only some files, sometimes desktop missing all files etc.)
Could anyone explain the following log entries and what would cause them. I do not know yet, if it is related to the syncing problems, but can't rule it out yet either.
These are log entries from a user that logged in but didn't get his files to sync from the persona share. Other settings like Outlook config were fine. It's just really the files that do not sync down sometimes.

Not sure if this is of any help...
    Thanks,

Alright, I have spent hours reviewing logs and events and compared between when it loaded profiles correctly and when it didn't load correctly.
The only difference I've found is in the "VMWVvp_Status.txt" file which is located in: C:\ProgramData\VMware\VDM\logs
The logs in said file, are all the same, except for the very last lines of it (**User Data Start**). When it loads successfully, the log is much shorter compared to when it fails. Below are the logs, first the successful on and second the one when it fails. I've highlighted failed messages red. Though I still have no clue about the why and what causes the profile to load.
    When loading profile correctly:
