N8 Belle & PC Suite compatibility

I am using PC Suite 7.1.180.94 to connect to my N8-00 running OS Anna 022.014 and it synchronises my contact/calendar/files etc without any issues.
If I upgrade to Belle on the N8-00 will that compatibility be lost?
I cannot use Nokia Suite as it does not support Lotus Notes (only Outlook) which the German run company I work for is still using as its main email/calendar service.

i had both Nokia Suite and Nokia PC Suite and Nokia Software Updater installed on my PC at the same time, and it recognised my N8 running Belle Refresh at the same time and just fine, so theoretically it shoudl work my friend.

epends on your machine.
if you are using the 64bit machine....not really at all, if 32bit, not good, but better then 64bit.
i do not recommend 9/8 suite for n900 yet.

DO NOT USE THE OVI SUITE
if you have ovi suite installed, then uninstall it first.
then install the pc suite from the link above.
after you have completed the installation, reboot your pc.
upon reboot, launch the pc suite (if it has not already) (i would set the settings to launch with windows start up)
when the software is running, click on the blue &green yin~yang icon for sync.
click on the phone icon, it will pop up a box to help you find a phone.
plug your phone in the usb cable, choose the pc suite on you n900
click on searcy icon onthe phone connection pop-up.
once your phone is connected, then go back to the original box that youclick on the phone icon, and click on the wrench icon to set up what, and how you want synced.
if your contacts and calendar are up to date on your pc, and you want to start fresh, then chekc the box for replace all data on the handset, and then sync.
after that sync, go back into the wrench and change that setting to how you want it to sync, otherwise, everytime you sync, it will completely change all the data to what youhave in outlook instead of adding and syncing all appointments, etc back and forth.
if you have bluetooth on you pc, then it is just as easy to do it that way.

Trying to Update E7 to Belle Nokia Suite insists p...

I am trying to update my E7-00 to Belle.
I keep on getting the following message
Your Computer is running low on space
Then a long message comes below it and insists I must have 1.5 gig on my \\s drive.
Says a little lower you need to you need to delete or move 0mb from your \\s drive
Firstly my pc has 29 G free on C
The network share's have 21 G free
What is this "\\s" the update keeps referring to ?

The same issue emerged when I attempted to update N8-00 to Belle using windows pc with over 100GB free space. Installation was initiated from Nokia Suite 3.386 with backup location set to c:\temp. After the initial backup, which appeared to be successful, the install program announced that drive W: is running low on space, as others have reported, and offered retry or cancel options. The install program does not appear to recognized the defined backup folder location.

Different versions of Adobe Creative Suite Compatibility (CS5 and CS5.5)

Our marketing team has two different versions of Adobe Creative Suite (CS5 and CS5.5). We can save the CS5.5 down to an IDML document so users with CS5 can open/manipulate the file but it reduces the file size significantly. What I do not know is if this saving down process reduces the quality of the file?? I am relatively inexperienced with these programs as I am self-taught. Thanks for your help!

IDML is good for repairing files.
But IDML is not good to be used as exchange in a workflow because every export of IDML can change things in an unexpected way. So I would strongly recommend that everyone in the department involved in the workflow uses the very same version, anything else will let you struggle in a later point of time. When I have to exchange files with a client I use always their versions and avoid IDML in exchanging files in any case possible.
Between CS5.0 and 5.5 are also several changes possible, because some bugs related to the text engine became fixed. E.g. in CS5 if you had an automatic TOC or cross reference in a text frame with 1 or 3 round corners and 3 or 1 normal corners, automatic number got shuffled in that frame, like page 345 became 543. When this was fixed some changes in the text engine have been done.

What is the earliest version of Adobe Creative Suite that is compatible with icloud and Lion OSX 10.7.5?
I have CS2 and its usless now. What CS version can I to upgrade to without having to jump to CS5 or 6 $$$$$

I don't know that Adobe would even upgrade to a product that's no longer shipping. The CS6 route is probably the best. You could always subscribe to Adobe's Creative Cloud for $50 per month and use all of the CS6 applications.

CS6 Master Suite compatibility Issues

I have the installed version of CS6 Master Suite running OSX 10.9.5 on an older MacBook Pro . I wondered if it is compatible with OSX Yosemite? I am reluctant to upgrade. I am not ready for Adobe Cloud yet.

I will not give them any more money as I am ver happy with CS5 and their cloud software is not to be trusted.how it is for me

Hi I own a Psion and it uses PsiWin as its synchronisation software.
A few years back I bought the Nokia 9200 Communicator which came with PC Suite.
That version of PC Suite was incompatible with PsiWin. It needed me to uninstall PsiWin before I could install PC SUite. In fact it was almost the same software: similar desktop icons and similar
sunchronisation process.
I've no idea what version of PC Suite came with the Nokia 9200 Communicator, but I am thinking of buying an E90 Communicator (which presumably comes with the latest Nokia PC Suite) and I want to know
if PsiWin AND Nokia PC Suite can co-exist on my PC
(Hope there are some older people on this forum who remember Nokia 9200s and Psions!!)

The latest version of PCSuite 6.83 rel_14.1 has not been without connectivity issues and is probably due for replacement. I doubt very much whether things have improved as unfortunately phone connectivity software always seems so aggressive monitoring USB activity.

Adobe Creative Suite Compatibility?

Help! Does anyone have any information on whether Leopard supports Adobe CS1? I called the Adobe helpline and their official stance is that Leopard will only support CS3. However, the product specialist acknowledged that Adobe has not officially tested CS2 or CS1 specifically. Someone I know told me that he runs CS2 on his Leopard system and it runs perfectly well. Does anyone know for certain whether CS1 runs on Leopard?
I am considering purchasing a Leopard laptop but do not want to pay to upgrade to CS3 (CS1 is sufficient for my purposes and funds are low). Therefore, I am waiting to make my decision, contingent on this CS1 info. I'd really like to try to track down an answer soon.

Is Ovi Suite slow or what?

I updated the program and it took like an hour. When I launch the program from my desktop, it takes like 5 minutes before it's fully loaded. It's generally very slow performing any function in the suite. Is this a common experience, or am I the only one? I get around 4.3 Mbps internet speed, my comp. has Celeron CPU, 2.00Ghz and 256MB RAM, 7GB free space.

It depends on what phone you have and what you want the software to do, but you could try removing ovi suite and install Nokia pc suite as it is a bit lighter to run.
Your computer will however not be able to run bigger applications as fast as you want it as it has low specs. The celeron cpu is known to be quite slow. A disk with that little space left would also make it worse. Have you thought about cleaning up and defragment the drive? If it is a harddrive...?
256 mb is getting to little for todays bigger applications. Remember that much of your ram is probably already in use by the OS and perhaps other programs you have set to boot with your system. When the computer runs out of ram it will try to access the disk to compensate for the full ram, and everything will be slower as a harddrive works much slower than ram chips, and the harddrive is quite full I guess. If you take a look here http://www.nokia.co.uk/support/download-software/nokia-ovi-suite/compatibility-and-download , your computer does not meet the minimum requirements of Ovi suite (too little ram).
What I suggest you do is to clean up your computer with using a clean up tool. Ccleaner is known to be quite safe and I have never had any bad experiences with it. Then you reboot your computer and run a defrag on the harddrive.
Then make sure that you close all other programs when running ovi suite as you need the ram you have.
However, with such specs, the experience will unfortunately never be as good as you want. But having a good "computer hygiene" does usually makes things a bit less painful
Have you concidered upgrading the ram of your computer? If the motherboard supports it, It would be a good Idea. I guess the RAM u need would probably be quite cheap. Also a bigger harddrive is recommended. Shouldn't be much trouble chaning that on a desktop.

Warning: Ovi Suite Will Delete Outlook data

When syncing with Outlook, Ovi Suite will delete what you have in Outlook, if you delete it on the phone.
This happens even when you request no deletions to be done.
Recommendation: Backup your Outlook PST file before sync'ing with Nokia.

Pretty complex procedure though.
Try this:
1. Disconnect your phone from your computer.
2. Go to Add/Remove programs in the Control Panel.
3. Remove Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver
Remove Nokia Ovi Suite
Remove PC Connectivity Solution
4. Download and run Nokia PC Suite Cleaner from
http://www.nokia.dk/produktsupport/download-software/pc-suite/how-to/nokia-pc-suite-cleaner
5. Reboot
6. Download latest version of OVI Suite from
http://www.nokia.dk/produktsupport/download-software/nokia-ovi-suite/compatibility-and-download
7. Turn off you AntiVirus/Spyware and Firewall(Including Windows Firewall is enabled) software before you start the install of OVI Suite- very important!!
8. Reboot after installation of OVi Suite
9. Do not start OVI Suite yet after reboot!
10. Make sure your AV Software/firewall is not turned on.
11. Connect your phone using your USB cable.
12. The drivers should install without any problems. Takes a minute or so.
13. Start OVI Suite after Windows reports that the installation was succesful.
Everything should work now

PC-Suite using Nokia E7-00?

Dear all,
since 5 days I have now the E7-00! For the moment I was not capable to find an OVI suite parameter description. My fear is that this software will modify too many parameters on my PC with I can't control - which I don't need!
I don't need really any thing else than the possibility to backup my phone, and edit my contacts (not synch at all)
- can I use also the previous software 'PC-Suite' for my E7-00?
- can I get a really good parameter description about OVI Suite some where?
- do some body have any as much as simplest solution for that?
I'm just missing really good documentation about Nokia Software

Hi all!
I was looking to graduate out off my old 5800 XM. Happened to get a Nokia E7-00 free from Finland because I am participating in Nielsen survey panel.
One of my many issues with E7-00 is PC Suite compatibility. I too have PC Suite ver 7.1.60.0. It does not connect to E7-00. I tried exporting all my contacts from my old 5800 XM to E7 by Bluetooth phone switch. Then via Ovi Suite. But in both cases the default number selection to send text messages in all contact names did not get exported. It used work well while doing complete phone back up and restore via PC Suite for my older phones like E70, 5800 XM etc. After weeks of trying all options, I went ahead with Ovi transfer. I am active in a couple of clubs. Imagine my difficulty in sending group messages to about 50, 60 contacts. I have to select default message number 50 times! I even tried asking my office assistant to manually choose default numbers for 1250 contacts. But the stupidity of E7-00 is - after editing one contact we cannot move on to the previous or next entry. Got to go back. And the damn thing goes back to the top of the list. Now we have to search for the entry which would come next and start the whole rig morale again.
One other (lesser) frustrating issue is - In my 5800 XM, I have edited the field names for many contacts. For example, to store under Jack's name itself, his and his wife's mobile numbers, I had renamed the sub fields as "Jack's mobile" & "Jill's mobile". (That way, if the second number is not called often, I can make do with one entry lesser in my phone book).
But these renamed field names do not get exported to the new phone when done by the Phone switch via Bluetooth or Ovi, unlike good old PC Suite. In the new E7 they still come out as "mobile, mobile".
Wasted a good one hour at the local Nokia service centre. Frankly they were not much experienced with high end phones. Surprising thing was they did not even have Ovi suite.
Can you pls suggest any solutions? Because of this and some other botherations with the E7-00, instead of feeling elated on getting an expensive phone free, I feel really frustrated. I might soon go back to my old 5800 (again, that phone is becoming too painfully slow) or a Samsung or I-phone.

E63 & Nokia PC Suite

Downloaded new version of PC Suite and although phone and PC connect the sync does not work because the E63 has the following error message "invalid user name or password". I do not have a memory card installed and I cannot find any other app. that needs a password. My service provider is 3.
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Nokia Ovi Suite 2.1.1.1 crash at startup on one XP

I have a Nokia 6086 that I synchronize with my home PC (XP, with OVI)
and with my office PC (XP, Outlook, initialy PC Suite)
since latest upgrate with OVI on my home PC I had multiple name entry (2 or 3 times) that I cannot clean and are recreated... I've decided to upgrade my work PC with OVI 2.1.1.1 french.
it then crash at startup.
I uninstant and reinstall OVI,
and it crash again before displaying anything usefull (onply the splash screen).

the ovi suite 3.1.1 is supposed to be able to sync with thunderbird.
try the newest version. and i would recomend only syncing contacts/calendar seperately at least the first time so you can minimize the errors.
