N8 browser issue

My N8 had been working perfectly but while at work I turned my phone off and since turning it on I cannot get back into Ovi because it says I have no connection (connection error)! Anyone know a solution to this problem? I currently have ovi 3.1.1.85 Anna software edition with both 1/1 & 1/2 updates installed.

Sorry it is not quite clear whether this is an issue affecting just Ovi Store or when trying to browse in that neither WLAN or Network access points defined in Internet destinations can be reached.

Nokia 500 and Belle Refresh: browser issues.

The Belle Refresh was indeed a welcome refresh for this low-to-midrange phone. However, there is a serious issue with the browser.
With the update to Qt 4.8, you inherited QtWebKit, an amazing browser I know very well. In a desktop, it's fast, although it eats more memory than Firefox. However, in a cell phone like the 500, with limited amounts of RAM, this browser freezes the phone, due to the lack of memory. I'm also sure this browser can and will break phones with more memory and Belle FPx, since I've made QtWebKit use more than 1 GB of RAM in a computer running KDE.
There is a way to avoid this, called "user agent". Opera Mobile avoids this scenario by telling pages through user agent "hey, don't be hard on me, I'm browsing this from a cell phone", and pages adjust themselves to that scenario. However, you didn't tweak the user agent in your browser.
If you add no user agent tweaking, full HTML5 support, Flash Lite support (the much higher specced iPhone 4S doesn't support Flash), and low memory, you get a nightmare scenario.
1. The webpages send their complete, full featured DESKTOP versions to my Nokia 500.
2. QtWebKit supports everything, so, it makes a faithful attempt to properly render the page, even with Flash apps.
3. Nokia 500 has only 70-80 MB of RAM free for apps to use.
4. Boom.
Can you release a hotfix for Belle Refresh, changing the user agent of Nokia Browser to something that can trigger the mobile version of web pages? In that scenario, QtWebKit will eat much less memory and everyone will be happy. And please, can you do this for everyone using Belle Refresh?

I can confirm serious browser issues with the Belle refresh on a C6-01 device. The crash is so severe that only taking out the battery helps. It typically occurs when scrolling larger, feature-rich (and image-rich) webpages, so far I've seen this only on mobile connections (Edge, Umts), but that may be due to lack of testing with WLAN. (Where I've got WLAN I've usually a more powerful device as well..

IWeb pages reverting to older version- not a browser issue, deleting prefs/caches no help

Hi everyone, forgive me if this is a newb question but I've scoured the internet for answers and all of them I've already tried with no luck. I'm using iWeb and encountering a problem that has me completely stumped. I'm trying to publish changes to my site, (I do not use mobileme, I publish to disk and upload files via Fetch) and for some reason something is changing my html files when I try to upload them. The html files are correct on my hard drive when I publish them, and yet when I upload them, they revert to the older version. This is not a browser issue, as I've cleared my cache, refreshed and tried using Safari, Firefox and Chrome with no luck. I've also tried 're-setting' iWeb by deleting iWeb preferences/cache, and tried moving the domain file from application support, creating a new website, deleting it and then re-loading the old site. Nothing, still the old site. It's new in iWeb, new when I open the html files on my drive, and old as soon as I upload.
I seem to remember having this problem before, and what I found was iWeb's cache kept replacing my new pages with the old ones every time I wanted to upload them. 'Re-setting' iWeb did the trick then, but it's not doing it now. Any ideas on what is going on? It's a little disconcerting seeing a file correct on the disk and then change itself, while uploading, into an incorrect version.

If you make changes to a page there are files in the Scripts folder that get updated and must be uploaded also. Depending on what you're using to up load the files it can be setup to upload just those new or modified files.
Cyberduck is a free FTP client that works very well and if used in conjunction with this tutorial will upload only those new or modified files: #2 - Uploading only those new or newly edited and published files when using a 3rd party FTP client

Has anyone experienced web browser issues at display time? We are on IE7. We are now using the internal ITS. Our carriage returns are totally being ignored by the browser. Thus, we have a dropdown box to pick one of the businesses multiple partners, and because the HTML is not formatted correctly in the browser, the dropdown doesn't work, and we get an "array not created" error messsage in IE7.
I know that there are options in the IE 7 browser under the menu item "view". I've tried changing these to some different Unicode settings, but without luck.
Has anybody some experience with this issue?

this might be problem with Support package, by default Sap neweaver 2004s application comes with SP6, u can upgrade to higher SP to solve these type of problems.patch your system up to SP12 or SP13 and try.

Yahoo Homepage is in EST and not PST like my seetings are in. It changes to the next day when it is not midnight yet. Please fix. Yahoo say it is a browser issue!

On the Yahoo Homepage the day, date, and time are in EST and I am in PST. The day, month, time, and date, changes to the next day at 9pm and it is not midnight yet.
Example: Monday, February 13, 2012, then at 9pm tonight, it will change to Tuesday, February 14, 2012, before it hits midnight on Tuesday, February 14, 2012. Please fix.
I have been in contact with AT&T and Yahoo for the past month trying to get this fixed so it doesn't affect my e-mail time. Now both are saying it is a browser issue, and that is you guys. I can't believe I am going through all this just to get something fixed....it is amazing! Our e-mail is:[email protected]

Browser issues in DW

Not a whiz in DW but created a site and found that the logo only shows up in some browsers. How do I fix that in DW since the previews all showed fine? It's apparently a PC browser issue. Any fix for it?

Your logo is way too big for the web.

Resize to actual height & width needed for your page(s).
Save for Web as an optimized jpg. Use the smallest file size necessary for the job. 20 - 50 KB tops.

I have lost my Hotmail pagination marks. Is this a browser issue?

Hotmail used to have the list of pages in each box, ie Inbox, sent box etc.
It has all been changed recently to pagination marks instead to allow you to navigate.
However - I have no pagination marks so cannot navigate past the 1st page of any box. Is this a browser issue?

There is no GPS in any iPod. If you set up the Find My iPod service prior to the iPod going missing, then there is a chance that can be tracked, though it depends on a number of factors (the iPod is turned on, connected to a WiFi network, and has not had the Find My iPod service disabled). Log into icloud.com and go to the Find My iPhone section. After upgrading to version 4.0 my email money bank transfers do not work. Bank says it is browser issue but what is the setting that needs to be changed?

I do a great deal of online banking. Recently issue an email money transfer from an account with one bank to an account with a different bank. Have done this regularly in the past with no problems. The transfer could not be completed. After consulting the IT people at the bank I was advised the problem is with the browser, but they were not certain of what specifically is the problem or how to fix it. They advised I try to do the deposit using another browser. Went to Chrome, accessed the email transfer info and the deposits went through normally. I assume the problem lies somewhere in the security settings with Firefox, but could not find any information to help me.

I too , have had my phone crash after installing the iphone 4 update. It would not update and connect to itunes after installing it. My phone was not accesable at all.
I took it to the apple store in London and for an hour and a half waited for them to resolve the issue.
They seemed far more interested in selling their new iphone 4 than helping existing customers.
I was told it was a physical connection problem cord. I knew this was not the case and as I had my laptop with me proved it wasn't.
After 2 hours they replaced the handset and I am now in the process of restoring the backup.
I strongly advise not to install the new software.

Unable to see EXCEL output for xml report--browser issues?

hi i have created and registered an xml publisher report.
i want to see the out put in Excel format.When i run the report i get junk data as output.
is there any profile setting or viewer profiles that i need to change to view the output in excel.
i can see excel output on standalone version when i load the data into template and look for the excel output.
i cant see the same when i run the program through apps.
Can any one help me regarding this.

Domain and Browser Issues

My wife recently developed a website for her art gallery using iWeb. We upload the website using the mobileme client - which uploaded the website with no problems. A couple of days later we purchased a domain: www.intensebluegallery.com and would like to use that exclusively for the site.
Strangely, we can get to her website www.intensebluegallery through the Safari browser - but we're unable to get to the website using Internet Explorer.
Is there something we need to fix? Can anyone help? Thanks a million!

What do you get when you try to load your site in IE? Does it just lock up?
IE is notoriously bad when it comes to adhering to web standards for code, etc. and iWeb sticks to them very closely. One of the issues with IE and iWeb sites is the navbar. It is javascript based. One of the suggestions to make iWeb more compatible with IE is to hide the iWeb navbar and create your own Text Based Navbar. However, it can be a pain to update every page if you add a page to the site.
One of our more experienced users here, Roddy, uses Web Site Maestro to optimize his files before uploading to the server. It can reduce a page's size by nearly 40 percent in some cases which is a big help with IE. IE will freeze if a page has a lot of images on it. I've started using it with some of my sites on MobileMe and it will optimize the files and upload only those that have been changed or added.
Look for some of Roddy's posts about Web Site Maestro or about Internet Explorer to get more info on the subject.

I have a form which contain file browse and i have in this form select list with submit ( i use submit to populate another select list)
The problem is : when the select list do submit the path in file browse disappear so i have to choose the file agian
what can i do to this problem?
second:
i want to make a link to file that exist in database in a report,when i click the link the file will download, how can i do it ?

There's not much you can do about the first issue other than change the way the select works. You're having it submit the page for something - why not make that an Ajax process? Then no submit would be needed so no value would be cleared out.

looks like your user has more permissions than needed. You could try to remove the user from User Information List (<a href="http:///_layouts/15/people.aspx?MembershipGroupId=0">http://<your_site>/_layouts/15/people.aspx?MembershipGroupId=0)
and grant him/her ONLY read permissions (add it to the SharePoint group with read permissions).
Another options is to create a new permission level (via Central Admin->Manage Web Application, select the web application and choose "Permission Policy"). When creating the permission policy select "View Items" under List permissions.
Create a new SharePoint group and assign the newly created permission policy. Inside the permission policy you could add accounts that could Only view items for the site collection.
