N8 camera help

hopefully someone can help me...recently performed a power cycle and a soft reset in order to succesfully install "fMobi". nokia them selves recomended this as it just refused to install but since all this my default camera is not working either with shutter key or icon, just goes black for a few seconds then returns to main menu.
i have just finished reinstalling anna but this did not resolve it. thanks.

Hey there,
I'm having the exact same problem, exept now the screen doesn't even go black; simply nothing happens, neither with the shutter key nor the icon. Apps that utilze the camera work though (i.e. panorama or LiveView).
Some help would be appreciated, as my amazing multimedia phone just turned into a a very expensive "dumb" one.

  • In need of camera help

Hello everyone. I just got a Rogers BlackBerry Curve 8310 used from friend. Other then having a crack in the screen ( which I intend to get fixed ) it had no problems and ran smoothly. A couple days ago I tried to open my camera and a message came up saying `` Could not start the camera. Close other applications and try opening the camera again``. I had used the camera for a couple days with no problems before this happened. I did a bit of research online to see if anyone else had had this problem and apparently its fairly common but none of the solutions I read worked. I tried the battery pull out, I tried wiping the phone. I deleted all of the apps I didn't need. All though I know how to delete apps and such I am not quite sure I am exiting the ones I have properly. The only solution I read that I have not yet tried is taking apart the phone and pushing the camera lense back into place because I would rather not mess with it if it is not necessary.  I suppose being new at this it could be any little thing I am doing wrong that caused this problem.
Since I am new at this and I am just learning as I go, if I didn't give enough info about the problem or maybe wasn't clear feel free to ask for details if you think you know what to do because I need help very much.
I apologize if this was a dumb question or if I posted this in the wrong spot.
    Thanks for reading my post

You don't even need to take the device apart.  Just remove the battery cover and press downward on the camera lens.  This is the fix that most people have said has been successful when this problem occurs.

  • Importing movie with Sony camera help

I have a Sony Handycam DCR-HC38 video camera and have recorded some video that I would like to import into my imovie 08... I have the chord (USB) that connects the camera to my mac, and have plugged them in and my mac doesn't recognize my camera. I've turned my camera on, played back video on my camera, and still nothing.
Anyone know any tips on how to get my mac to recognize my camera? Any help would be great. Thanks!

You can't import from any tape based camcorder without a Firewire cable. If you have the newest MacBook Pro, it will have a 9 pin port, in which case you need to buy a 4 to 9 pin cable. If you have an older MacBook, it will need a 4 to 6 pin cable. If you have a new MacBook, you are out of luck as there is no firewire port.
All firewire cables, or iLink From Sony, are the same. Shop by price.

  • Iphoto has stopped recognising my camera - help

I have happily used my sony digital camera and imac to load many thousands of photos and movies over the years.  Just recently, when I connect my digital camera, iphoto launches but wont recognise camera - just shows that spinning coloured disc. Doesnt seem to be the camera as Finder recognises all the files perfectly.  I have iphoto 9.2.1, iphoto upgrader 8.1 and mac OSX 10.6.8.  Its driving me nuts ... any help appreciated.

A much better and safer work flow is to upload your photos (using a card reader is even better than a USB cable) and keep the photos - after yu have properly disconnected the camera (or removed teh memory card) and at least one backup cycle has completed then use your camera to reformat the card - this protects agains losing photo do to software/hardware/human errors and renews teh cared format every time so it is aways fresh
I personally rotate tjhrough three large memory cards so by the time I erase the olders card I have gone through several months of backups

  • Flip Video Camera Help

I'm not sure this is the right forum to ask this question, but this was the closest one I could see with what my issue is.
My daughter wants a USB type video camera for Christmas. I have been looking at different ones and really like the Flip one, but I don't know much about them. I kind of wanted to stay under $100 for this. Does anyone out there know alot about these? Kohl's had a Shift 3 brand for like $50 this week. It's resolution is 640X480 and the Flip is full VGA. I guess I am confused by what this means. Is paying the extra money worth it for what these things are? Help please? THANKS! Kelly

theme of this board is video on Mac.. a device recording 640x480 isn't compatible with most common editors (iMovie, FCE) ..
have a look on this list: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3290?viewlocale=en_US
these devices are tested and proofed, some Flips are on that list ..
    a few things to consider:
    • she's doing some recordings and then ... ? keywords: editing, DVD burning, MobileMe purchasing..
    • many snapshot cams offering 'video' too... two-in-one .. ?
    • Grandpa told me: +buying cheap means buying twice+ - you get 'real' camcorder for less than 200€ .. is this more: "look, Youtube/Facebook/ .. no shirt hands!" or the very young Spielberg on her way to stardom .. ? movie-making is a fantastic hobby for kids (my son actually writes a 'script' .. he's 9 )

  • Problem with camera help

good morning, I have a problem with my ipad 2 camera photos, are blurry not sharp as it should, someone can help me with this please

Be sure the camera is clean on your iPad!
If you're stuck within an app or you've noticed a problem, simply hold both the home button and sleep/wake button at the same time. It's important to keep your fingers on these buttons until step 3.
After a few seconds the red ‘slide to power off' screen will appear, simply ignore this. Ensure your fingers are still holding down the home and sleep/wake switch.
Shortly after you should see the Apple logo, it's now safe to let go of the iPad's buttons. Your iPad should now boot, beware this process can take up to 15 minutes or so.

  • Needing new Camera; Help!

Time for a new camera and after reviewing over and over, I just get more confused on which one I should pick. I am just a Mom of a Toddler, no pro here. I don't understand all the technical terms these reviews are using such as ISO and stuff. I just know the qualities that I want are:
    1) Fast picture taking (I have a toddler, hate getting the shot after the activity is done.)
    2) Battery save (Sometimes I forget to shut the thing off)
    3) Good low light picture taking ( I do take alot of evening pictures outside and in, some with flash, some without)
    4) I like the lithium batteries (in the past, have had better luck with those)
    5) Don't want to spend and arm and a leg
    6) Has to have a date stamp option
    7) Compact (doesn't have to be the size of a credit card or anything like that, though; just needs to be able to fit in the diaper bag/purse)
    8) Can range in picture taking from up close to the far (need the range)
    9) I like image stabilization and face detection, but not necesarry
    10) Really need it to operate well on auto ( I have a toddler)
    11) SD Card ( don't want to switch that up)
    12) Anything else that would be helpful for me, the ametuer, to take nice quality pictures
If anyone can please help me, I would so much appreciate it. You would be saving me some headaches!! Thanks.

Need a budget number otherwise no one is going to know what to recommend.

  • Network camera help

I have a Panasonic network camera. I knew when I bought it that the install cd would not work on my Mac. But I did alot of research and found many people that were able to "easily" set up this camera. People referenced how helpful the Panasonic call center was. I did send an e-mail to panasonic and received a reply back, but their suggestions did not work. I then reached out to the call center, and was told that the info I received in the e mail was wrong. They tried to help me, but they do not have any info on the Time capsule whcih woud allow them to assist me.
Does anyone know how I can set this camera up on my iMac?
It's not a life and death situation, but for me it's important; as I will be getting a new puppy next weekend and I want to be able to see him when I go back to work.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Shelley

Linc thanks. I did check out your link; maybe I just need to borrow someone's PC. So just for the record, my camera is a Panasonic BL-C230.
I guess a second question may be better.
The call center at Panasonic said I just need to locate in my router and identify the IP address that it finds for the camera. They said to locate the DHCP client, and it will show me the IP address of my camera whcih is hooked up to my Time Capsule.  I am using a my Time Capsule as my router, and not my ATT router, having the ATT router only as the modem.
Can anyone describe to me how to see the IP address of my camera within my router settings?
    Thanks,
    Shelley

  • Multiple IP camera help

Ok my dad is clueless with anything technology related. He bought a tenvis ip camera which I setup for him without too much fuss. It's working wirelessly, static ip assigned, port forwarding in router is fine, dyndns details are in router and wan ip for dyndns is updated automatically.
Problem is bt only have one open port that's useable which is 80. He bought a second tenvis ip cam and no matter what I try it is not accessible from the outside world, only visible on his internal network. He has been speaking to a cctv firm locally and he has told me they are adament it is possible to have multiple cameras on 1 single port however I don't agree because I don't understand how it is possible. If this is possible I'd really appreciate a guide of some description of how to set up the second camera and access it using the same port the first camera is on.
    Any help appreciated cheers

Its not possible unless you have a DVR controlling everything.
Simply change the second camera to port 81, and then you can access it using your hostmame like this
    http://myhost.dyndns.org:81
If you can`t change the camera port, then alter the port translation so that port 81 incoming, is translated to port 80 and points to the IP address of the second camera.
Use the address above, to contact the second camera.
Another option is to use another of your DynDNS hostnames, as a webhop, and point it to http://myhost.dyndns.org:81
    eg http://myhost2.dyndns.org webhops to http://myhost.dyndns.org:81
That way, you do not need to add the port number to the URL.
    Camera 1 becomes http://myhost.dyndns.org
    Camera 2 becomes http://myhost2.dyndns.org

  • Nokia 5610 camera help ??

hi. when i used to take pictures from my mobile it didn't make that sound while taking the pic. but few weeks ago , i've plugged my mobile to the computer and the software updated to "firmware 4.81". since then , there was that camera sound going on while im taking the picture. i want to mute that sound. what do i do ? i've searched all over the mobile settings and haven't found anything related .. even changing my profile to silent didn't help.. any help please? thanks alot ..

Privacy laws in some countries make it illegal to be able to photograph people without their knowledge and consent. By not making it possible to mute the shutter release sound, Nokia is simply complying with laws.
This does depend where you are, though. Here in the UK I can mute my N95's shutter release no problem, although I haven't yet upgraded to the latest firmware version.

  • How to turn on built-in camera "Help"

I forgot how to turn on the built-in camera in my MacBook Air (OS 10.8.5)
so I confidently clicked on the Finder's "Help" button, and entered the words "How do I turn on the built-in camera?"
it came back with accurate instructions of "How to shut off the camera".  It could not tell me how to turn it on.
Does anyone remember how to the start the camera?

Thanks, Eric.  Photo Booth did it.
I wanted to use the camera to make a pic of a small
plastic part for which I needed a custom fabricated

  • Digital Camera Help

Sorry of this is the wrong forum for this but I'm in kind of a time crunch here. Has anyone here used the Pentax Optio W60 digital camera with their MacBook Pro and, if so, is it truly compatible with OS X and iPhoto? Any help would be greatly appreciated...please describe it's ease of operation or any difficulties you may have had.
I thank you all in advance for any guidance you can provide.

Assuming that the camera creates standard JPEG files and saves them to a camera card then it’s compatible with iPhoto. Even if the camera has problems connecting to the Mac - and assuming it uses bog standard Mass Storage protocols over USB, it won’t - then all you need to do is pop the camera’s card into a $10 USB card reader.
    Reggie
Unless you can specify what there problems you are having we can’t help you.
iPhoto “does not recognize ACDSee” and I’m guessing that vice versa is the case. The point of iPhoto is that it’s not an adjunct to the software that comes with your camera, it’s an alternative.
ACDSee support for Macs is almost non-existant. Apart from iPhoto you can use Image Capture or the Finder to move the pics from your Card to the Mac.

  • Importing VCR/DVD to Mac via video camera - HELP

    Hello,
I'm trying to transfer video from a dvd/vcr combo into iMovie, and can't get it to work. I have a Samsung DVD Recorder and VCR (DVD-VR375), and a Sony HandyCam.
I've tried pretty much everything that I can think of to get the video capture to work, but I get no picture, and no options to choose my Video Camera from the iMovie screen. I've also tried to burn the VCR tape to a dvd and then load the DVD into the Mac, but that isn't working either. I don't know if I'm not using the right dvd or what. I don't know if it might be that the Samsung player isn't compatible, and if that's the case, if anyone knows of a compatible player, please let me know.
I'm very frustrated, so if you can help me out, it would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your time!

How did you do it? I'm trying to upload videos from a JVC-GR-72U Mini-DV into my MacBook via firewire. I'm ignorant to the creative world of Mac.
