[N8] Chat via GTalk won't work if Gtalk on the PC ...

Hi!
This is rather annoying. The Chat application that comes with the N8 works properly with a Google Talk account, but only if Google Talk application on my PC is not running.
This issue is probably not due to Google because GTalk allows several clients to be active simultaneously with the same account, for example you can have GTalk running on your PC and your Android phone at the same time.
Nokia Chat was OK with this in the previous version. The newest version broke something and now it refuses to connect if the client on the PC is active. If I exit it, suddenly I can log in on my N8.
Is this a known bug? Any suggestions/solutions besides installing Numbuzz, Fring, eBuddy or whatnot - I don't want another client. I want the one that came with my phone to work.

You should be able to control the function that the side switch isn't controlling via the left-hand end of the taskbar : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085 - is the icon that appears there (notification mute or rotation lock) indicating that that function is 'off' ?

However, the driver "Microsoft teredo Tunneling adapter" has a yellow exclamation mark, which i believe means it's not installed correctly or something is wrong with it. This driver is under the Network Adapters (Please see picture below).
This is what happens when I connect my iPhone 4s to my laptop (Windows 7 Starter 32-bit)
1. The phone charges it's battery
2. I can open it in My Computer and import/export media files.
In iTunes
3. It start to sync until step 3 then stops.
4. The iPhone option with an arrow appears beside the iTunes Store, but when the arrow is clicked it disappears.
I hope you can provide me a solution for this problem.

For your iTunes issue with it not recognizing your iPhone, I would go ahead and suggest deleting iTunes and all of its components from your Windows computer and installing fresh.

As far as the arrow button that you click and the iPhone disappears, it sounds like you may be clicking on the eject button. Please take a look at the following article for information on the eject button in iTunes.

There is a hardware problem. Whether it's worth it to you to have no working phone for 2 months until you can update vs paying for replacement/repair now is a question only you can answer.

This is not a reply. I just want to elaborate on this problem.
My computer freezes occasionally when it is used after being sleep for a while. The spinning ball appears and everything is totally disabled. Nothing on the keyboard works.
The mouse moves, but does not work.
The only solution is to turn the power off and on (losing all data in open applications.)
I kept the System monitor running on the side to find out which program was running when the computer froze. The Monitor as well as all other applications froze, but the data showed:
Firefox 18.4%
Activity Monitor 0.9%
Firefox Plugin 0.2%
This is all the information I have. By the way, I am using iMac with OS 10.6.

In Windows 7 Itunes loads and runs fine. When I close it down and try to get back in it just sits there. It won't work until I reboot the computer.

Let's see whether this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
Now open itunes and see if it is working?
If that works, make sure you do this below to prevent same problem after restarting windows:
Go to. START button, type in
MSCONFIG
Hit ENTER
Click STARTUP Tab, Uncheck "Apple Push", click OK.
Restart Windows.

If your startup disk says it is full, you need to remove some of your stuff.
Either move some documents/movies/pictures to an external drive (if you want to keep them), or delete them from your startup drive. Then, empty the Trash.
If you move them to an external, you will still have to delete them from the internal drive.
That won't fix Office (I don't think), but it will make everything run better. You need a minimum of 10GB free (more would be better).
You might need to reinstall Office. It should work without problem (well, at least as little problem as Office can muster).

Might have a hardware issue that was caused by the minor liquid spill.
Take it to Apple to have them look at it. I think they do a free diagnostics. That way you can find out what's wrong with your MB.

Send a ResultSet object via RMI - won't work.

Hi. I make a user interface to access MySQL database. The access to MySQL server is done from a remote location via RMI. The process to delete/update/create was succeed. The only problem is when I try to get(from the client computer) the ResultSet object, that come from invoking statementObject.executeQuery(myQuery) method, from the server Computer: it won't work. It said that the ResultSet object is not serialized(it is an interface). I need the ResultSet object for my client program since I will use it to set my AbstractTableModel class's object. Last goal is to put the AbstractTableModel object into the JTable constructor so I can see the result from a table.
Is anyone can help me? I can not return the ResultSet object to the client since it is not serialized.

I use the following solution using List. As List is Serlizable I can throw it across the network using RMI... it is also of course easy to access.......
For users objects you need to throw across the network just simply make them implement Serializable

When I start-up my computer it has a Flashing ? in a Folder. I removed the HDD as then plugged it in via USB and it worked, but just won't work with it inside the Macbook.

So, I just had a bit of a hurried train journey, two connections very close together, resulting in my laptop bouncing around a bit inside my bag (in a case). The Macbook was shutdown the entire time, but when I tried to start it up it came up with a flashing folder with a "?" in the middle of it after the start-up "bong".
I proceeded to remove the hard drive to check if it was okay, and it worked fine via USB into my iMac, so I am now running my Macbook Pro from a hard-drive that is completely naked outside of its shell.
What could have gone wrong other than the hard drive, bairng in mind that it is all working perfectly well with the hard-drive plugged in via USB. I was thinking it could be the ribbon cable that connects the hard-drive internally, however I had this replaced not long ago after a previous complete hard-drive failure, but that's a story for another time.
If anyone could help I'd be very appreciative, as my macbook looks ghetto as all **** right now, as I have the hard-drive sellotaped to the left of my trackpad.

If Apple was the one that replaced the ribbon cable, return it. If not, run AHT (Apple Hardware Test).
Using Apple Hardware Test to troubleshoot a hardware problem
Your issues might be caused by a hardware problem. Running Apple Hardware Test can help you solve this problem by showing you the faulty hardware.
Shut down the computer by going to Apple () > Shut Down…
Select Shut Down or allow the computer to shut down automatically.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter into a power source and then connect it to your Mac if you have not already done so.
Press the Power Button to turn on the computer.
Press and hold the D key on the keyboard before the grey starting screen appears.
Continue to hold the D key until the loading screen shows up. You should see a globe.
When AHT has loaded, select your Language and then press the Return (↩) key.
Select the Perform Extended Testing checkbox located under the Test button.
Press the T key, select the Test button, or press the Return (↩) key to start running the diagnostics.
Report any issues it shows in a reply.

This one is easy. The shortcut is for the old iTunes, that is why it won't work.
I assume you are using Windows.
If so, go to the bottom left of your screen and click the start button. Go up to programs and hold your cursor over it. A list of all your programs should pop up to the right. Move the curso over to iTunes. There should be an "about iTunes" and an iTunes logo there. Right click on the iTunes logo and click create shortcut (you can also just drag it out to your desktop). That will give you a desktop shortcut for your new version.

My wireless keyboard won't work for one of the users

All of a sudden the wireless keyboard stopped working for me, but it works when my wife logs in. I had to create a new account for myself and the keyboard now works. However, the keyboard won't work for my original account. Any thoughts?

Does it shows up as a device in your BT menu under the problematic user? Does it connect? If you delete it from your admin account and re-pair it, does it work?
There is a command called ioreg, which can help as well.

Do you mean that you updated your computer's iTunes or the iPad's iOS ?
If it's happening on all the apps that you've downloaded from the App Store, but not the Apple built-in ones, then try downloading any free app from the store (as that appears to reset something) and then re-try them - the free app can then be deleted.
If it's happening on all apps then try closing them all completely and then see if they work when you re-open them : from the home screen (i.e.not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
