N8 - Dukto changes date stamp on transferred files

I downloaded Dukto a few days ago after reading about it on another post on the forum.
I have used it a few times to transfer some data to my phone from a PC but for the first time I have just tried it to transfer data the other way, ie from the phone to the PC.  The files I chose were images from the camera and I am very disappointed to realise that Dukto has altered the date stamp on the files, to the time they were transferred (rather than leaving it at when the pictures were taken)
Is there any way round this, because I was starting to like the speed and ease of use of Dukto but for me, it is unacceptable if it changes what is a major plus point in digital photography, ie an automatic time stamp on images.
If there is no way round it, does anyone know of an alternative way of using Wi-Fi to transfer files in both directions, that does not mess with the timestamp info.

Hi.
The case you described is right. But it´s not a bug.
Why don´t you organise your pics/vids on your desktop with picasa for example. There you have many tools, also to rename your files, so that the filename contains the creation date.
Or you use a cloud solution like dropbox, google+ or amazon clouddrive to sync pics/vids from your phone automatically.
But never use the built-in sony playmemories. It´s really slow, pics are down-scaled to 1280x720 and vids are not synced. It´s the worst cloud-service for pics I´ve seen.

  • Lightroom changing date stamps (or more) on unopened files??

I routinely backup my catalog to an external drive, and then I sync all the folders with images to the same drive. I have done this ever since starting with Lightroom a long time ago, with no problems. Last night, I backed up the catalog (LR 3.4), and afterwards, I set up a sync. There should have been 50+ deletions and a smaller number of additions, the latter mostly XMP files. I got those, but the synch software also said it needed to update roughly 2000 additional files. Windows confirmed that the date stamps of these files had been changed. These were all jpgs or XMP files, not raw files. I had not done anything with any of these 2000 extra files. Some I had not touched since December of 2008! Could LR have changed the date stamps of these files, or done some other modification, while updating the catalog for it's backup? I have never experienced anything like this before, and now I am uncertain which version of the 2000 files to keep.
    Thanks for any thoughts.

When you copied the files to the new drive they became new files created on that date.
I have the same thing, files not worked on in ten years with a creation date of 2009 when I got the latest computer.

  • How can I change data on my XLS files? I have tried to open them in Adobe reader but they can't be read!!!

Hi. I have problems changing the data on my XLS files.I tried Adobe reader but it can't open the files. What should I do??

XLS are Microsoft Excel spreadsheet files.  You can use Microsoft Excel to open them... or any number of compatible applications (OpenOffice, Numbers, etc).

  • OS X lion changes "Date Created" for old files that I edit or update.

Whenever i edit my old photos and save the changes, Finder changes the "Date Created" for that file to the date of the last edit.
This is annoying as i used finder and date created to search through my old images. Is there any way to get it back to functioning like the previous system ?

I wonder if this would happen in Snow?
The coment "few outdated programs" Ive seen alot its not just a few its a lot and since games are not Apple's strong point I would think they would want to keep as many as they could...
An example of the rants you will see from a lot here. Don't be put off as these problems are generally user specific, and these same old comments come out after the release of every OSX I can remember. When Lion is upgraded  to the next OSX you can gaurentee these forums will be full of people screaming about how great Lion was. Happened with Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard.
So come to think of it you may be better off Googling sites that give you unbiased views on Lion, rather than expect any positive comments here. For every one complaint there are probably 100,000 people with no issues.

  • Automatic DATE stamp on the file name of each picture

How do we get the date to be saved in the filename?  such as IMG-20130925 ??
Please.  I would really like to make sure my pictures have the date in the file when saved.
And where can I find the File Properties... of each picture?
    Thanks!

Correct. The file naming convention can not be changed.

  • Possible to change date format when importing files into Aperture 3

Just wondering if it is possible to change the format of the date from YYYY-MM-DD to YYYYMMDD when you rename files as they are imported into Aperture 3? I typically rename my files and insert my initials, date the photo was taken, sequence number, camera used and original file name. When I do this in Aperture 3, the date format used includes dashes. I would like to have the file renamed without the dashes in the date. Is this possible?

You should be able to edit the format in the import presets. I have done this for folder stucture of imports, I believe you can do the same for the file renaming. At the bottom of the drop down box for file naming at improt should be an edit option which brings up the import naming presets, select the "YYYY-MM-DD" and remove the dashes.

  • Time/Date Stamp your video file

Hi there, I have a number of video files and I need to burn in time (h:m:s) and date onto them without metadata using offsets.
Is this at all possible with premiere? Some files are 30 hrs long - monitoring outside conditions and I need the date to switch at 23:59:59 to the next one and reset the time to 00:00:00 as well.
It is a very TRIVIAL thing and it boggles my mind as to why this is not possible on a windows platform but possible on a crappy editing app like imovie on Mac?
Should I throw away windows pc and buy a Mac?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks:)

there is a timecode effect in premiere, it can be set to use the timecode from the source clip, the timecode of the clip as it starts in the timeline, or you can have it make its own time and start at the time you wish.  it does count hh:mm:ss:frames  so if you dont want the frames you will have to cover it up or hide it, can use a mask for this. you can make a title for the date. for the turnover to the next day, you may have to split the clip on the timeline and reset the timecode and/or date title.

  • AD date stamp OR File date stamp?

    Hi,
Im in the process of evalutating software to archive files to cheaper storage based on size and date stamp.
Problem, we unfortunately migrated from eDir to AD 2.5 years ago and products used thus far use the AD date stamp from when we migrated which is not useful.
My question is, does storage manager archive base on the date stamp of the file?
I know we have files that havn't been modified for more than 10 years.
Is there a way around this?
    Thanks
    Albert

Not using anything at the moment.....basically looking fo something that will do the job.
Will look at dynamic files serveices.
    thanks :-)

How are you archiving files? Are you using a grooming rule? If so,
you can specify a filter based on create/modify/access time. This may
help for archiving files to the vault via grooming. However, to be
honest if you're wanting to archive files to cheaper storage then a
better option is Novell Dynamic File Services for Windows.
    https://www.novell.com/products/dynamic-file-services/
This gives you the option of moving files to cheaper storage but still
being accessible "online" by your users, or truly archiving them to
cheaper storage (or even the cloud) and only archive managers have
access to files. It's been a while since I last looked at NDFS but I
believe you can configure policies there as well based on
    create/modify/access time.

  • Date format in flat file is MM/DD/YYYY

I want to to change date format in flat file from MM/DD/YYYY to in info cube YYYYMMDD.
What is the step by step procedure to do this.

    Hi,
The date format should be YYYYMMDD in flat file.
IF the date format is not the above mentioned way, then you can change setting.
    Going to System in Menu
    System->User Profile->Own data.
Under Owndata you can change the date format to your requirement.
Check the below link also for detain info of coding:

  • Need to change Date/Time stamp on jpeg file

I combine images into panoramas using PTGUI. The problem is that the output image file is date stamped as the time that I created the image. I really want the date/time stamp to be the same as the images that go into the panorama. I cannot find a way in LR to change this.

  • How I can change file time & date stamp?

I need to change date and time info of my text file.
Is it possible to do with labview? My application

some cases I need to change this info.

There are quite a few windows version of the unix touch command which will do exactly what you need.
I'm sure there is a way to call it even within LabVIEW, using "system exec". You might even be able to call cygwin1.dll using a "call library node" (I have not tried this).
    - There is the full featured cygwin environment for windows. "touch" is in fileutils.
    - There are also simple ports such as Touch For Windows.
    (quote from this page:
    What Does It Do?
For those who don't know, here's a simple explanation: It updates the dates associated with a fi
le to whatever you want it to be. It can change access, modification and creation dates. You as a user can update them independently of each other, you can update them with any possible date. Dates can be now, user specified or copied from another file. If you try to touch a file which does not exist, this command will create it for you (empty of course)." )

  • Write data to a logbook file only when a boolean indicator changes

    Hello
I need to write my local variable state to a simple txt file only when it's true or false state changes.
for example, when my local variable 'temperature too high' is true, I need something like: temperature too high.
When it changes back to false i need: temperature OK. This with a date stamp.
It already worked to get a date stamp and to write the true or false state down but it always gets stuck in a while loop so the program keeps writing the same sentence.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I had to take a picture with my phone because we're not allowed to connect the computers with an usb drive, I hope you can see it clear.
I know this while loop causes the program to write the same sentence over and over again but I don't know an other way to do it right.
    Thanks

  • Correcting the date stamp with files converted with mpgstreamclip.

I have converted some files using streamclip but it changes the date of the file to the date of the conversion. When I try importing them into imovie they are sorted incorrectly. The files were recorded in 07 but now have the date stamp of today. Can anyone help me solve this I am new to the mac and converting footage.

It seems that I have solved my own problem while searching for answers.
First I selected the clip with the incorrect date
Next select File and select Adjust clip date and time.
    Hope this helps someone.

  • Can you change the date stamps on photos on iPad3?

When I add photos from my digital camera, any photos that have been edited on my camera show on my iPad with the wrong date even though on my camera the date stamp is correct. It's very strange, is there anyway to change the date of photos once on your iPad so that they show in the right album when viewing photos on the events tab. Thanks in advance for any reply x

I've posted this in another query of mine regarding keeping a separate bootpd log file. Two birds, one stone.
    syslog -u -E safe -k Sender bootpd -k Time ge -24h > DHCPday.log
    cat DHCP.log DHCPday.log> DHCPtemp.log
    cp DHCPtemp.log DHCP.log
The -u switch on syslog causes it to output the timestamp in UTC, thus it includes the year. By incorporating this script as a cron job, the server is now keeping a growing record of DHCP allocations with a full datetime stamp for later processing.
