N8 Email - Unable to connect to mail service serve...

I have my Nokia N8 for a good few months. Email stop sync-ing so deleted my 1 and only email account (Hotmail) and now I can not get any email back.
I have played with internet settings, rebooted my phone but still nothing.
Basically, this is what happens:
Got to set up email
Some text comes up about what mail can do and you have the option of start of exit
Press start, and it says preparing for set up, then it comes up with Unable to connect to mail service server. try again later.
The next options I have are to enter email and password or cancel.
If I enter email and password it comes up with an option to click on mail for exchange and I have to start entering user name, domain, etc or I can exit.
So, can anyone help me restore the email function. When I got the phone you had an option of hotmail, yahoo, etc etc. And that is what I want back.
Also I should mention, I don't have any options around pushing or pulling email as it never gets that far into setting up email.
I live in the UK, so was wondering if I should just take it into my local carphone warehouse who deal with Nokia support and demand it gets repaired? It's part of what I paid for so they should repair/replace for me?
Any advice would be good,
Thanks
Vicki

For the answer of both how and why please refer to the post by Abi99 earlier this week:
http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Symbian-Devices/quot-Unable-to-connect-to-mail-service-server-quot-o...
Please click the star below that post to draw attention to the expired Nokia certificate, which Microsoft Mobile Oy must renew to solve the problem! - Also use the false username and false password trick, if it is a first time mail setup on a freshly reset Symbian phone, to avoid any Nokia Messaging clutter, and then input server details manually.
EDIT: The expired certificate was renewed is now valid until 2015-07-10

I have a Photosmart 7520 working perfectly and suddenly since a week ago when I try to scan to email problem I get the error Unable to connect to web services
I followed all the forum instructions. Removed power for over a minute from the router and printer and connected the router first.
I checked that the apps in the printer main screen work ok,
I followed the suggested steps below
    1. Obtain your printer's IP address
    a. This can be done by pressing the wireless icon on printer.
    2. Enter the printer's IP address in a browser.
    3. Select the network tab at the top of the page.
    4. On the left select networking.
    5. Select Network Address (IP)
    6. Select Manual DNS Server
    a. Manual Preferred DNS should read 8.8.8.8
    b. Alternate DNS Server should read. 8.8.4.4
    7. Select apply you might get a warning just select okay.
    And nothing works.
    Any help please??

  • HP Photosmart 7520 unable to connect to Web Services scanning to email

P Photosmart 7520 unable to connect to Web Services  -   can't scan to email

If you get "unable to connect to web services" error message while performing scan to email option, first unplug router and printer for about 1 minute. Plug router up first then printer and then try to enable web services.
The web services feature will be available in one of the below options:
    1.The Setup ->Wireless ->Web Services menu option
    Or
2.The Setup ->Web option, or via the ePrint/Web Services icon on the printer front panel display.
If you still get the same error message again then follow below steps and perform scan option:
1.Obtain your printer's IP address. This can be done by pressing the wireless icon on printer.
2.Enter the printer's IP address in a browser.
3.Select the network tab at the top of the page.

After many successful efforts in the past, suddenly I cannot scan to email on my HP Photosmart 7520. I have tried several of the solutions posted to no avail. Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I am not 100% as to the steps you have tried in attempt to resolve the Scan to Email issue on the 7520, but I would like to offer the steps I have given in another Thread.
Re: Trouble scanning using Photosmart 6520 <---
The steps will cover your printer, even though they are different Photosmarts.
Let me know if this works.

  • HP 7520 Unable to connect to web services while trying to scan

I have tried the scan doctor and was able to scan from that program but was unabe to scan using buttons on printer for both Windows 8 and MAC OS X. Error message is consistent Unable to connect to web services. I am trying to scan to email on both Windows 8 and IOS X
It appears to be a common issue. Is there a downloable fix for all of the owners users of your product?
    Thank you

    Hi Kitray,
I see that you are trying to scan to your Email, but are unable to. Which Email provider are you trying to scan into? I have found great success by follow the steps I have offered here: Re: Trouble scanning using Photosmart 6520
Don't worry about the printer not being the exact model as yours as the firmware, steps and settings are all the same.
Please let me know how you make out with those steps.

    talk to them
and make sure the ports required by the mail providers smtp server are not blocked by your firewall or by your router or by your isp

I have tried everything with rebooting the printer, placing it back to its factory settings etc. The scan to email app worked for awhile and then it just stopped and sends the error message "unable to connect to web services" everything else is connected and works via the web services and is connected except this. I've used my HP Photosmart 7520 for years without issue scanning to email.  Now I get "Unable to connect to Web Services" error message.  I've done all the procedures listed in the blog, including changing the manual DNS server configuration and still get the same error.  Help!

  • Anyone else unable to connect to mail.btinternet.c...

Anyone else unable to connect to mail.btinternet.com this evening?
Imap connection in Outlook is working for a change but the pop3 connection in Outlook returns an error trying to connect to mail.btinternet.com.
Is this related to the switchover does anyone know?

Since BT have changed their web browser and email log on, I'm experiencing problems. I have a PC, laptop, chrome book and iPad. Both my wife and I have trouble logging in after entering our user names and passwords on all systems. Click on the 'Log into email' button and not a thing happens. Eventually, after closing the browser several times, it will eventually work. Now if I log in via 'Windows Live Mail' it logs in every time. Now would you agree that there must be a problem with BT's new and supposedly better program. Only BT technical desk in Mumbai doesn't seem to agree! They also don't appear to know what their browser  and email log in pages look like!

We are using the Azure server for our web services. Server is generating an error "Unable to connect to the remote server". What is this error means

    Hello,
Did you means that you use the Windows Azure Virtual Machine DNS name as the server name in the Reporting Server Web Services URL?
    For example:
    Report server:http://uebi.cloudapp.net/reportserver
    Report manager:http://uebi.cloudapp.net/reports
If you want to connect to Report Manager on the virtual machine from a remote computer, you should create a  virtual machine TCP Endpoint and open the port in the virtual machine’s firewall. By default, the report server listens for HTTP requests
    on port 80.
