N8 hangs up before call is even made!

Hey everyone, i just got the n8 a week and 2 days ago. so far im loving it! I decided to buy it outright so im still on prepaid- dont trust myself with a plan, so far so good.
However over the last couple of days when i go to make a call the screen for calling pops up, then closes straight away- if you blink youd miss it. I know its not my phone carrier as ive been with them for over 5 years and never had connection problems.
Its really frustrating, i couldnt call anyone- needed to listen to a voice mail and it just wouldnt connect. Anyone else having the same problem or a suggestion??
cheers
Cassandra

nope, havent installed anything! I called nokia today they couldnt figure out the problem. Im also having difficulty when i try to connect to my university WLAN. they couldnt solve that problem either. they suggested returning the phone and purchasing something else.

    My I hang up a call, my podcast restarts even when I hadn't been listening to it before call.
    Is there anyway to prevent this other than closing the Podcast App each time I stop listening?

    happens to me too
    Iphone 5, 7.0.4 64GB
    it plays the last thing I had used with only audio. if I was listening to a podcast before then it'll load that up. but since closing my podcast and not even using the apple music app. now it loads the first song in my play list. and its just this one song.
    force close the app and not even use the music app for weeks and its been forced closed the last time,
    it'll load up the same song. randomly, and I havent used my podcast app in months so it hasnt loaded that app
    if it has nothing else it'll load the music app.
    i've done a delete all settings and that hasnt helped

  • Jobs gets hanged when a call is made to PLSQL function in Data Services XI

    Hi,
    I am facing the below issue after migration of BODI 11.7 to BODS XI 3.1.
    The job is not proceeding after the below mentioned statements.
    print('before call');
    $is_job_enable=DS_TEST.TEST.MY_PKG.IS_JOB_ENABLED(job_name());
    print($is_job_enable);
    MY_PKG.IS_JOB_ENABLED plsql function will return Number.
    $is_job_enable is a global variable declared as decimal (10, 0).
    This Job works fine in Data Integrator 11.7.3 version and gets handed in Data Services XI 3.1.
    I tried changing the global variable $is_job_enable to int and created new data sources before doesn't solve the problem. Can anyone tell me what is the issue?
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi Manoj & Tiji,
    Thanks for your comments. Please find the below outcome.
    print($is_job_enable); -- is not executed if PLSQL function is called.
    I changed $is_job_enable to VARCHAR, still the same issue.
    I created new project and executed the same in new job, still the same issue (all objects are new except Datastore).
    The dmp happens only when we the PLSQL function is called. I commented the Function call, the execution proceeds further but got hanged in other PLSQL function call (different than the 1st one)
    Is this bug in 12.1?
    Can you tell any Hot fix available? If possible please give me the SAP Notes Number.
    Is there any other way to execute the PLSQL functions/procedures in 12.1?
    Thanks
    Maran MK

  • Help. new ios7 has made my iphone 4 a slug.Intermittent text and call usage, can't hang up from calls, dead screen, etc.  Mistake to upgrade.

    Ever since I upgraded my iphone 4 to the new ios7, I have intermittent use of my texts...cannot send or receive.  I cannot hang up phone calls...the screen is black and I don't have an END button.  I have deleted nearly everything fome my phone, about 8 gb free at the moment on a 16 gb phone. Can anything be done.  I should have never done the upgrade and now I can't go back.  Help.

    Tried this about 20 times already. Can send about two-three texts and then can't receive or send. Even tried a reset to factory...still crap.

  • How to clear all selection screen parameters before calling transaction?

    Hi Experts
       I have a ABAP report that displays data using ALV.
      When I double click a cell it calls transaction MB51. Before calling the transaction I need to set some parameters of the selection screen  of the transaction.
      My code is like below:
      <UL>
       <LI>FREE MEMORY ID 'MAT'. <I>"material</I>
       <LI> FREE MEMORY ID 'WRK'. <I>"plant</I>
       <LI> FREE MEMORY ID 'CHA'. <I>"batch</I>
       <LI><I>* Get the selected ALV row data</I>
       <LI>READ TABLE i_recon INDEX p_selfield-tabindex INTO x_recon.
       <LI><I>*   If link MB51 is clicked then open tcode MB51</I>
       <LI> IF p_selfield-sel_tab_field+8(4) = 'MB51'.
       <LI><I>*   Pass material, plant to the corresponding tcode</I>
       <LI>       SET PARAMETER ID 'MAT' FIELD x_recon-matnr.
       <LI>       SET PARAMETER ID 'WRK' FIELD p_plant.
        <LI>      CALL TRANSACTION 'MB51' AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN.
    </UL>
    The problem is:
    <UL> <LI> 1. First, I run the given transaction before running the report in a separate session with some set of values in the selection screen. For example: plant = AB01, Material = 990001 and Batch = 10001.</LI>
    </UL>
    <UL>
            <LI> 2. Then in another session I run my report. In the report ALV I have selected a record where plant = AB01, Material = 990001 but Batch is blank. But it opens the transaction with plant = AB01, Material = 990001 and Batch = 10001.
    Even though in my ALV record the batch is blank yet it uses the batch value from the memory. That is, the batch value that was given in the transaction earlier. Why it is not getting cleared? I have also used FREE MEMORY ID code in the beginning. But still it is not clearing the values in the memory.
    </UL>
    <UL>
            <LI>What shall I do to clear all the selection screen parameters before calling the transaction?</LI>
    </UL>
    <UL>
            <LI>
    Thanks
    Gopal
    </LI>
    </UL>

    Its because sap memory is globally shared.
    Do it like this.
    READ TABLE i_recon INDEX p_selfield-tabindex INTO x_recon.
    IF p_selfield-sel_tab_field+8(4) = 'MB51'.
    perform bdc_dynpro      using 'RM07DOCS' '1000'.
    perform bdc_field       using 'BDC_OKCODE'   '=ONLI'.
    perform bdc_field       using 'MATNR-LOW'  x_recon-matnr.
    perform bdc_field       using 'WERKS-LOW'  p_plant.
    perform bdc_field       using 'CHARG-LOW'  p_batch.
    perform bdc_field       using 'DATABASE'  'X'.
    call transaction 'MB51' with i_bdcdata mode 'E'.
    endif.
    form bdc_dynpro using program dynpro.
      clear la_bdcdata.
      la_bdcdata-program  = program.
      la_bdcdata-dynpro   = dynpro.
      la_bdcdata-dynbegin = 'X'.
      append la_bdcdata to i_bdcdata.
    endform.
    form bdc_field using fnam fval.
        clear la_bdcdata.
        la_bdcdata-fnam = fnam.
        la_bdcdata-fval = fval.
        append la_bdcdata to i_bdcdata.
    endform.

  • Call upon even better support for Unicode

    Hello
    Following some messages I have posted regarding problems I encountered while developing a non-English web application, I would like to call upon an even better support for Unicode. Before I describe my call, I want to say that I consider Berkeley DBXML a superb product. Superb. It lets us develop very clean and maintainable applications. Maintainability is, in my view, the keyword in good software development practices.
    In this message I would like to remind you that the US-ASCII 8-bit set of characters only represents 0.4% of all characters in the world. It is also true to say that most of our software comes from efforts of American developers, for which I am of course very grateful.
    But problems with non US-ASCII characters are very very time consuming to solve. To start with, our operating systems need to be configured especially for unicode, our servers too, our development tools too, our source code too and, finally, our data too. That's a lot of configuring, isn't it? Believe me, as a Flemish french-speaking, danish-speaking developer who develops currently a new application in Portuguese, I know what I am talking about.
    Have you ever tried to write a Java class called Ação.java, that loads an xml instance called Ação.xml that contains something like <?xml version="1.0" charset="utf-8"?></ação variável="descrição"/>? It takes at least the double of time to have all this work right in a web application on a Linux server than it would take to write a Acao.java that loads Acao.xml containing <?xml version="1.0" charset="us-ascii"?></acao variavel="descricao"/> (which is clearly something we do not want in Portugal).
    I have experienced a problem while using the dbxml shell to load documents that have utf-8 encoded names. See difficulties retrieving documents with non ascii characters in name The work around is not to use the dbxml shell, with which I am of course not very happy.
    So, while trying not to be arrogant and while trying to express my very very great appreciation for this great product, I call upon even better support for Unicode. After all, when the rest of us, that use another 65279 characters in our software, will be able to use this great product without problems, will it not contribute to the success of Berkeley DBXML?
    Thank you
    Koen

    Hello John and thank you for replying,
    You are completely correct that it is a shell problem. I investigated and found solutions for running dbxml in a Linux shell. On Windows, as one could expect, no solution so far.
    Here is an overview of my investigation, which I hope will be useful for other developers which also presist writing code and xml in their language.
    difficulties retrieving documents with non ascii characters in name
    I was wondering though if it would not be possible to write the dbxml shell in such a way that it becomes independent from the encoding of the shell. Surely their must be, not? Rewrite dbxml in Java? Any candidates :-) ?
    Thanks again for the very good work,
    Koen

  • IBY_FD_EXTRACT_EXT_PUB getting called twice even for single payment

    Hi All,
    I am extending IBY_FD_EXTRACT_EXT_PUB for a custom field Batch Number which is sequence getting reset at 99. However the sequence is skipping 1 value each time payment is run.
    On further analysis I found that IBY_FD_EXTRACT_EXT_PUB is getting called twice even when a single payment is made in Quick type. Has anybody experienced this?
    Thanks,
    Abby

    I finally have my solution. I did it without the IBY_FD_EXTRACT_EXT_PUB extend function. I modified the etext outbound RTF template accordingly. Maybe it will give you a hint or direction to solve your situation. Good luck.
    I created a level for grouping criteria as PaymentReferenceNumber/Payee/Address/AddressName, DocumentInternalIDSegment2, called InvoiceDetailLevel. The base level is OutboundPayment.
    I then added a level (InvoiceDetailLevel) between OutboundPaymentInstruction and the DocumentPayable level.
    Then in the syntax for the supplier number and the address I entered this in the Data column:
    ../../ OutboundPayment/Payee/SupplierNumber
    and
    ../../ OutboundPayment/Payee/Address/AddressName
    That did the trick and now it is working correctly on every line, looping back to get the proper information.

  • Music plays after hanging up phone call

    Hi,
    I love my Xperia Z2 but for some reason if I have music paused, then I take a phone call, when I hang up the call, the music starts playing. I understand it should do this if the music is playing when the call comes in, but not if the music is paused, right?
    Please help!

    Hi,
    Do this happen even if you don't hang up yourself? (If you wait for the other part to hang up)
    I would suggest that you try to boot your phone into safe mode to see if the problem may be related to any 3rd party app that you have installed in your phone:

    Thank you so very much! My husband is in Afghanistan and calls at different times. If I am on a call and can't answer him it could be days before I hear from him again. I never thought to just restart my phone! Duh...this is my first smartphone so I am learning. All day people were calling while I was on the phone but I couldn't answer. Thank GOD none of the calls were my husband because it would break my heart if I missed his call. Thank you again and GOD bless you! Ashley Combahee

  • Email vanishes before I can even read it...

    I have a serious problem. Been on-going and I haven't found a solution yet.
    Incoming email that is vanishing before I can even read it.
    Numerous times oI've noticed incoming email notifications on on the pop up notification window on the upper righthand of the screen. I can see who the email is from and the first sentence or so.
    But when I go to Apple Mail the email(s) aren't there.
    I've checked the junk folder, trash folder even my mailbox on icloud and no email. As if it never happened.
    For example I just paid my credit card bill online. I saw an immediate Apple Mail notification from my CC company confirming payment. But when I check Apple Mail the email never made it to my box. Not a sign of it - anywhere.
    I go to Apple mail -- no email.
    I'm having the same problem with several other incoming accounts. The emails simply refuse to show up in Apple Mail.
    Is this a known issue? It's also happening across my synced computers and the ipad. None of them show certain emails showing up.
    I use Spam Sieve to manage spam. But it doesn't seem to matter if I uninstall it or if its running or not.
    It caused a serious problem a while back. A business associate claimed he had emailed me a dozen times about a project. I would check - no emails anyhere. I finally had him do a test. I would be on the phone and he would push send. I would see the notification come up showing it had arrived. But nothing in Apple Mail. It's driving me crazy. I have no idea how many email addresses are affected.

    Here is a webpage with pictures that show what Carolyn is takling about.  I usually try the envelope rebuild first since it doesn't download my entire 12GB mailbox again.

  • Ultra 40 hangs right before memory test during POST

    While I do enjoy using my Sun Ultra 40 Workstation, there is one thing that bothers me. And I am wondering if I can get a help from you guys.
    Before I describe what I am experiencing, I politely ask you not to tell me to go other place for using Windows O/S. :)
    Anyway, here's what happens:
    Ultra 40 hangs right before Mem check during POST (Power-On Self-Test) when rebooting after running h/w monitoring software such as Speedfan or EVEREST Ultimate Edition to see CPU temps or Fan speed of my Workstation.
    It seems that my keyboard is working since I can warm-reboot by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del and I can see Num Lock light goes on when pressing Num Lock key, but that's about it.
    Even rebooting my system (either cold-boot or warm-boot) won't help me getting through POST. And I won't be able to go into the BIOS (CMOS) Setup Menu, since Menu screen comes up after Memtest during POST. As I stated before, it just doesn't do anything when it's supposed to run Memtest during POST. Plus there is no BIOS (CMOS) menu to turn Memtest off.
    Only way to make my system to pass the POST process is to disconnect the actual power cord and reconnect it. Then it reboots fine.
    Does anyone know what's going on?
    Is this BIOS firmware related bug?
    I am desperately seeking for help.

    Unfortunately, this shining blue globe we all live on
    is split into regions of responsibility as far as Sun's techsupport is concerned.
    Consequently, system serial numbers are registered for their respective geographical regions.
    Asia and Pacific is referred to with an abbreviation of APAC.
    Europe, Middle East, and Africa is the EMEA area for support.
    The Western Hemisphere is further split. North America is one support region
    and Central America is grouped with South America for their own support responsibilities.
    In this way, Sun gets local people to help where the equipment is sold, without any language barriers.
    You need to go back to your local support center, refer back to your case number,
    and request they go through an escalation procedure for a second examination.
    If this effects you there is a chance it may effect thousands of owners of that model computer.
    They send it through escalation reviews in your APAC support,
    and they may decide to open a North American case, for the sole purpose of a review of the issue.
    (After a local escalation, they may not need to consult North America,
    because there may already be an answer in a database that your first engineer overlooked.)
    There is no mandatory rule that they must escalate out of their region.
    Your local Sun Microsystems people get back to you on your local case number
    when there is any sort of an answer.
    This may all seem complicated or maybe have too many layers of procedure,
    but it is done so that everyone in Sun gets it all documented
    into the troubleshooting databases, and gets trained where to find the answers.
