N8 Headphones (still)

N8 Headphones buttons do not work with these methods
- Inserting fast (It used to work but stopped suddenly; I use them everyday)
- Inserting fully til you hear the click sound etc..
- Switching the default mode in accessories
- Inserting with music player and music playing/not playing.
- Restarting phone
Now what? Major failure by Nokia.

I've noticed that when the phone goes into 'Power Saving Mode' some behaviour changes on the phone. YOu said you needed to charge it - are you still in saving mode?
I think you can check by touching the battery icon on the home page

  • My speakers on my macbook receiently quit working after I had been using some headphones. My headphones still work whenever I plug them in with both increase and decrease in volume. I have also noticed a red light on the inside of the headphone jack.

My speakers on my macbook pro quit working the other day after using my headphones. when I try to adjust the speakers my screen indicator sayes that it is at full volume on the bar but also muted(circle with line through it). I also noticed a red light inside my headphone jack. My headphones still work including volume. Any quick fix?

Hopefully one of these steps should solve the problem.
    1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
Make sure Mute is not enabled.
    2. Remove the headphone.
If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.

  • My iphone5 speakers have stopped working.  the headphones still work as does the ringer.  the phone indicates it is still in headphone mode.  does anyone know how to fix this ?

after running i disconnected my iphone headset.  since then my iphone speakers have stopped working.  i can still listen to music using headphones and the phone ringer still works but the speakers are silent.  when i adjust the volume it indicates it is in "headphone" mode.  Any idea how i can solve this problem ?

I have read in other threads with similar problems that cleaning the headphone jack/port seems to usually work.  The simplest method is to rapidly plug/unplug the headphones a few times.  See if that works.

  • My 4S thinks there r headphones still attached.. how can i undo this

had my headphones plugged in this morning. after undoiung from jack, phone still think they r plugged in .. how can i fix this.. cant use my phone noormally

My iPhone 4S won't play ANY sound unless I have a external speaker or have a wireless fm transmitter plugged into the headphone jack to play sound through my home surround sound system or car speakers. I have searched the Internet and a few places said I might have lint or dirt in the headphone jack. One way to supposedly tell is to press the volume buttons while there isn't anything plugged into the headphone jack and if the phone shows the headphone volume instead of the ringer volume then that's the problem. But mine shows the ringer volume when I press the volume buttons. Another site said it might be the charging pins at the bottom of the phone and to clean those as well. So is there something in the headphone jack port or did my speaker stop working? I have already tried to shut the phone down, hard rest, a factory reset, and made sure I had the latest updates for IOS 6. I checked my sound settings and made sure the side switch was turned on and up! So it's not that.  Another website I found said there could be a problem in the software. UGH!

  • OSX LION NO SPEAKER SOUND but headphones still work

After pluggin in headphones, and then removing them, sound is dead. Have tried every single fix I can find, except re-installing the OS. I think this needs to be sorted ASAP and not a fix.

The issue with the motherboard port for your speakers would a physical issue and I think it would be best if you contacted HP technical support for repair options.

  • I am facing this issues that music stops playing when the display goes...Please help me with this, I already reset and checked headphones still quits working.

My IPod Nano stops playing music when display goes out.  I already tried the resolutions suggested and still having problem.  Please help!

i've had my ipod for awhile and it just started doing this - last night.  it plays for about 30 seconds and stops.  i press play again and it restarts where it had stopped.  i had wondered if i had accidentally set it to 'sample' or something.

  • I have tried to get my radio feature to work and it does not.  I followed some advice from this forum on a related question and performed the "settings reset," but this has not solved the problem.  I have icon, headphones, still no reception

Has anyone else had this problem that just got one?  This is a christmas gift and I was attempting to explore the radio feature and discovered the issue.  Do we have this feature or not??  Thanks for any insight anyone can give.  Thanks and Happy New Year!!

You are not pushing the headphones all the way in. Make sure the white plastic is flush with the iPod.

  • My iphone 3g thinks it has headphones still plugged in, any suggestions as to how I correct this? please!!!

my iphone 3g thinks it has headphones plugged in, any suggestions as to how I can correxct this? please!!!!

If no change after inserting and removing the headphones several times to unlock the mechanism that indicates the headphones are inserted, the iPhone has a hardware problem with that mechanism.

  • When Nano 'sleeps' and you have your headphones still in - does it click..?

    Hello, Here's what happens:
If I I'm lying in bed listening to an audiobook, music or whatever and then I pause the track. I get silence - for a while! Then there is a nasty click every 3 or 4 seconds. The same happens If I manually power down my ipod into sleep mode (or off) - all seems well for a while (say 1 minute) then it's clicking time. So what! - well on my ipod the same goes for sleeper timer. So if you were able to drift asleep with this mode on previous ipods then not so if you are having the same problem as me on this new nano (I'm guessing the same happens if plugged into speakers, cos I've tried several headphones). Basically any time the nano is effectively powered down - it's kind of not actually off, because some power is 'clicking away'. NOT good.
Please test this on yours, so we can find if it is an isolated ipod or a common, highly annoying problem in order to hound apple into fixing it with the next firmware update. I am on v1.02 BTW. All help is much appriecated.

I think I'm getting a similar problem, and I can't find any other topics on it. When I leave my nano pluged in to my alarm clock (iHome iH5), some nights I will get this incredibly loud feedback out of nowhere, and it will repeat about every 2 hours. It's really really loud. Just the other day, I noticed that it was doing it when it was plugged in to my car also (Belkin adapter), so I know it's not the alarm clock or the adapter, since they are both having the problem.

  • Why does my ipod touch 4g do this when i plug my headphones in? (not your usual headphone question)

Can anybody help me out? I bough my Ipod Touch on December 26th at about 11 am. I took it home registered it all all of that stuff, downloaded some apps and put music onto it. I then proceeded to use my headphones with my ipod and everything worked fine. Then at about 9:30 pm i went to listen to my music once again and when i plugged in my headphones the weirdest thing happens. The screen changes to the black screen with the apple logo on it (like the one after you restart your ipod) but it also has a little (i would call it) buffering symbol (the circle made up of 12 individual lines) located at the bottom of the apple (Apple logo). That screen stays up for 5 seconds and then switches to my lock screen which stays up for only 1 second and then the cycle begins again. It never ends! I don't understand!!! I didn't even have it up and operating for 12 hours!! I am looking to see if anybody has any ideas about what to try. I have tried doing all of the below:
    - switching off the password lock
    -switching the lock to 'never'
    -restarting my ipod
-turning it off and then plugging in my headphones then turing the ipod back on
-started playing a song over the speaker and then plugged in the headphones
    -turned off all applicaitons etc.

i am in the middle of downloading the latest version of itunes/software for my ipod because i am also trying to get imessages-- i was hoping that that would work to get it on there- and now i am hoping it works for my headphone problem (do you think it will) .
*** as soon as i unplug my headphones the ipod goes back to the lock screen, i unlock it, and it works normally (even if i dont have the lock screen/password turned on)
please please please please help This is my first ipod touch and i have no idea how to solve this problem
**ps if you can tell me how to get imessages that would be awesome too

Not an expert, but plug it into your computer.  If it comes up hit sync.  Unplug it and see if it works, if not, plug in again and hit reset (I don't have the screen in front of me, but I know you get a main screen on iTunes you get an opption to upgrade or reset.)  When you reset it's kind of like nuking and paving.  It will erase your internal memory completely and reinstall everything on it.  Make sure you have updated your computer using software update first.  It takes a while, but that should fix it.

  • IPod not putting out sound on right headphone

As of yesterday, my iPod is not producing any sound through the right headphone. I've tried my headphones on other devices and they work, and also tried other headphones on my ipod and the right headphone still has no sound.
It seems like a problem with the connection because when I jiggle the headphone jack, I get brief bursts of soun (it seems like if I physically hold the headphone jack towards the back of the ipod, it helps).
Anyone else encounter this or have a suggestion?

  • Does Apple iPhone 4 Dock support answering calls through apple headphone

Does Apple iPhone 4 Dock support answering calls through apple headphone? or is the audio out just a simple audio out that cannot interact with the headphone cable remote control, e.g. answering calls , skipping to next song as we used to as normal?

From my experience, whichever one is connected last reigns supreme and takes over.
When I walk to my car, I have my headphones in, and when I plug it into my car dock (with the headphones still plugged in and music still playing), the music switches from the headphones and pumps through my car stereo.
Then when I get out of the car and plug my headphones in (with the car dock still attached and playing music), the headphones take over.

  • My laptop wont put sound out to my headphones

HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC A6U49AV
    WIndows 7
I have not made any changes to my laptop just HP updates that are reccomended.
The main speaker works great I just cant get any sound to my headphones. The headphones work with my ipod and phone so I know it is not them.
I have tried uninstalling the audio software and reinstalling it but headphones still won't work.
    HELP PLEASE

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp56501-57000/sp56900.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
    When complete, shutdown the notebook.
Tap away at the esc key as soon as you start the notebook to enter the Start-up Menu and select the Bios Menu ( usually f10 ).  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio to your headphones.

  • My ipod will only play out of one headphone

i know it is not the headphones because i have brought new ones twice now and the right headphone still wont play... does anyone have any help or do you think apple will try to fix it?

I have the same problem but my warranty has run out, anyone have any suggestions? I've tried different headphones and its definately the socket you plug headphones into on the ipod thats the problem.
I'd prefer not to just get a new ipod when all that seems to be wrong is the headphone jack!

  • Headphone work speaker doesn't

My speakerphone, music, alarm, and ringer don't work.  Speaker plays for a couple seconds then cuts out.  Doesn't work 98% of the time.  Headphones still work.  I tried cleaning out the headphone jack, putting the headphones in and out several times.  Nothing.  Any ideas?
