[N8] Lost all album covers when moving music colle...
Hi,
I recently bought an N8 with unlimited Ovi Music downloads and soon proceeded to download virtually the entire catalog avaliable. Ok, maybe not all, but I went crazy on discographies and stuff and soon my phone's mass memory was getting crowded by the songs. I have about 10Gb of music right now so I decided to buy a 32Gb MicroSD and make it the official storage for music. So I connected the N8 to the PC via USB, fired up Windows Explorer and moved everything inside the "Music" directory in mass storage (E to a Music directory I created in the SD (F. Moving the files took quite the while, but when it was over, I was terrified to realize all the album covers were gone and nowhere to be found. I even tried to move it back to mass storage but the artwork is still missing.
I really don't know what to do. Is there a hidden directory somewhere where artwork for albums downloaded via Ovi Store is kept? I sincerely hope so because I'm definitely not looking forward to resyncing 10Gb of music from PC to Phone, especially because some albums were downloaded directly from the phone so I'd probably have to get them again on the PC
I tried searching for an answer for this problem but the results are flooded by people trying to add album arts to mp3 files imported from iTunes or whatnot, which is not my case. Every album in my collection was either downloaded from Ovi Store (already associated with artwork) or ripped and associated to a cover image in Ovi Player itself, so the files are not even mp3, they're wma
Has anyone faced this problem? Is there a non-excruciatingly-boring way to work around it?

Lost all album art after moving library to new HD
So, I found that my iTunes library was growing too big for my primary hd. I added an extra internal HD and followed the instructions on how to move my iTunes library found here (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301748). Everything seemed to come over ok (playlists, play counts) except for my album art. All of it has gone missing. I can't possibly add all that art in again. Can anyone tell me how to get my art back (I still have the original iTunes folder on my primary HD) or what I did wrong in moving the library.

P.S. I'm running iTunes 6.0.1 on a G5 with 10.4.3
G5 Mac OS X (10.4.3)OK Ive attempted all the suggestions mentioned here but have still had no luck. I deleted all the original iTunes docs on my Mac and rebooted etc but iTunes is still refusing to ignore the new iTunes folder on my new external HD, even though it is already connected.
I also tried to import the songs back into iTunes by creating a new iTunes folder on my ext HD but it just seems to create a duplicate of the folder Im trying to get iTunes to recognise and I cant see the point in waiting another 12hrs to import the songs again just so iTunes can recreate a duplicate of what I already have !
Heres how Ive directed iTunes to the folder using prefs :
NewHD/Music/iTunes/iTunesMusic
and then in the iTunesMusic folder are the artists folders and then inside of them are the album folders for each artist.
I also had a bunch of other stuff in my iTunes folder that I have tried iTunes with the items still in the folder and them taken out, heres what they are :
Album Artwork Folder (But this has been recreated on my Mac since I reset iTunes)
iTunes Export Text File
iTunes Library Data File (Again recreated on my Mac since resetting iTunes)
iTunes Music Library.xml File (Again recreated on my Mac since resetting iTunes)
Previous iTunes Libraries Folder containing 3 iTunes Library Data Files named iTunes 4 Music Library, iTunes Library 2005-9-8 and iTunes Library 2006-09-12.
As I have said I have tried iTunes both with these files and without unless Im using them in the wrong place.
Can any please possibly help me with my situation and the placement of the right files in the right place as I do not wish to have to go through the process of re-importing especially when all iTunes is going to do is recreate something that I already have ... many thanks -
Can you change the view of album covers when playing music on Apple TV?
I love the coverflow view when playing tracks on my mac. Its what I always wanted to be able to see the album cover as large as the screen while the song plays.
However on Apple Tv its "not quite" the same!
I feel that the text is too big (taking up half the screen) and although the album cover takes up the other half, the text and album cover keep switching sides of the screen every 10 seconds or so which i find a little annoying! Does anyone else find this annoying or just me?
Of course I love my mac and apple TV however i cant find a way to change this view when music is playing. I would like coverflow on apple Tv just like on mac. A full screen showing the album cover, with smaller text to show artist and track and not to switch sides of the screen!

I thought the side to side motion would be to protect the screen somehow but i dont really like it!
Not at all relaxing when playing a soothing song to see the graphics flipping back and forth.
Its great technology, amazing, but could this viewing option be changed somehow by the wizards at apple.
I might need to hit the off button on Tv and just listen on speakers otherwise. -
I have an iphone 3 and I have lost all my downloaded ringtones and music but when I sync with itunes it will not load it back on my phone. Does anyone have any suggestions?
When you sync with itunes on your computer make sure you have all the songs that you want to sync selected in the music tab in itunes when you connect your phone. Also with your phone connected click on the tones tab and make sure all the ringtones you want are selected there then sync

I just upgraded to iPhoto '11. When it was finished many pictures do not appear. I have a black box but the information for the picture is still there. Some are raw and some are jpeg. Also lost all albums. Can anyone offer assistance? Using iOS 10.7.5
Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I synced my phone to my computer. When updated with iOS7.0.2 I lost all my contacts, photos and music. I lost everything? How can i get them back? Is there any backup?
Everything should be on your computer.
You should be syncing contacts and calendars with your comptuer regularly.
You should be transferring all itunes purchases to your computer regularly.
You should be importing all pics taken with iphone to your computer regularly.
Most especially before any update.

Ipod keeps shuffling the album covers of my music anytime i sync to my computer
my ipod touch 3rd gen for some reason shuffles the album covers to my music whenever i sync it to my laptop. this has happened numerous times and i try fixing it by right clicking on the song or album and clicking "get info' which then shows the correct album cover in itunes, then clicking 'ok'. im tired of doing it every time when i get new music and then sync my ipod to my computer to find out none of the albums are correct on my ipod touch. my itunes on my computer has all the correct album covers for every song. why is it doing this and how can it be fixed???
What are you trying to do exactly and how are you trying to do it? You want to view artwork for tracks that on your iPod in iTunes? Why would you want to do that when you can just do that from your main iTunes Music library?

Has anyone else had trouble with update 6.1.2 for I phone? After the update, I can't get back on my network (password is correct), ICLOUD doesn't transfer my downloads, nothing seems to work. It saved my calandar and address book, but lost all of my apps and music (except for a few songs, figure that out) and I can't get them back. Any suggestions?
I had this problem post 6.1. Not sure if it was a coincidence, but I'd just recently changed my password after being convinced I'd been hacked, due to being told I was entering my password wrongly, repeatedly by iCloud / iTunes. It turns out my iCloud account on my Settings -> Mail, Contacts and Calendars was listed as Inactive. Putting in my details, turning off Contacts over iCloud (thus deleting them) and turning them back on again, repopulated my contacts from iCloud with numbers attached to them.

My contacts on my old Iphone I gave a family member were deleted then synced to icloud. My current iphone lost all its contacts when it next synced. I retreived a 6mth old backup to get my contacts, but I want my recent messages back, any help?
The "system" performed as designed. All devices syncing to one iCloud account are kept in common sync. The idea is that all such devices belong to one user. Different users should have different iCloud accounts. Once your contacts were edited, all devices were updated as well and subsequent backups (from yours and her device) reflected the changed contacts (and any other data that may have been edited like calendars). Your first task is to change your daughter over to a new account before she makes other changes.
The only way I see for getting back contacts is to restore them from a time machine backup, assuming you also have a Mac included in the account which syncs the contacts. However, I'm not sure whether time machine includes contacts from iCloud along with those that are local, "on my Mac".
Otherwise the deleted contacts are gone. -

If you created/burned Recovery Media boot from it to restore the original OS with all drivers/software. If you don't have Recovery Media you can order from HP for a small fee.
