N8 maps 3.08 sync

Can Any one tell me if it is possible to sync when I start map and closes map, as it was before so I can see my preferred routes and places on my phone and on the web maps.nokia.com?

Yes yes I can synd, og would just have with the auto sync.
Indeed - one of several issues I took with 3.08 - this auto sync at startup and shutdown of maps was truly a great way of doing things - so when you start maps on your phone, you pick up anything you've added, say, using a computer and the maps website - and on shutdown, you sync anything you've added / changed whilst using maps.
I can't fathom why things like this were damaged, as is the way traffic works on 3.08, given it all worked fine on 3.06 - and this is supposed to be progress?
What was so wrong with 3.06, that a LOAD of things either got removed, or no longer able to be configured?
Surely, if you wanted to update the visuals to be more pleasing, key function and configuration could have been retained, but it wasn't - and when I questioned this in beta labs, I just got some hand-waving as if what they'd done made any kind of logical sense.
As a generalism, I liked the updated interface in 3.08 - the lack of screen real estate in the betas didn't bother me that much, as I use my N8 in portrait mode for navigation. But I'll never opt to move off 3.06, whilst key configuration and functions are missing, broken or removed.
The traffic thing irritated me, too - at least in the betas, haven't checked the real release - you could configure how often traffic info was obtained - in 3.08 beta it defaults to every 5 minutes if you have traffic updates turned on. In 3.06 you could select a range of time periods - 5 minutes being the briefest. When I questioned this in the 3.08 beta forum, I was told the configuration of this had been removed to ensure that the servers weren't overloaded? Well the configuration they forced was the shortest interval from 3.06, so it wouldn't have made a blind bit of difference - it might have been eased, because some users with tighter margins on their data contract / usage, may have opted for a less frequent update.
Also, the changes to the routes, based on traffic, were automatic in the 3.08 beta - don't think there was even notification. My understanding was that there would be some indication on the final 3.08 release, but it would still do it automatically. Well every previous release allowed you to choose what to do in configuration - either prompt, or reroute automatically. Every sat nav I've ever used with traffic input, I've always wanted some choice when traffic affects routing in real-time - but again, when I questioned this when 3.08 was beta'd I was told the option to decide on whether to accept a re-route due to traffic had been removed for safety reasons, and that people shouldn't have to do any of this when driving - well why bother with big buttons for the interface then? And every sat nav I've ever used, previously, has allowed me to either accept, or ignore re-routing due to traffic.
It's just that sort of tihnking and arrogance, that's really neutered 3.08 in my opinion. 3.06 worked well, and could be configured well. Sure you may want to make it look nicer, you may want to make it easier to use - in which case, just make defaults of many things, and perhaps give advanced menus, if you don't want to trouble most users with things that may be a bit complex - but just to remove them altogether? Just daft - in an ever more competitive market, I'd previously moved away from standalone sat navs to Nokia Maps, but if things carry on the way they have with 3.08 - if that is truly a sign of things to come, I can't see me staying with it.

  • Map Module Discrepancies / Syncing Camera time to GPS Logger

The Map Module of LR5 lets us use the Set Time Zone Offset to account for the fact that you may not have reset the time on your camera when you crossed time zones. For that purpose, it works well.
But what about an equally common occurrence – the camera time is a minute, two, or three out of sync with the GPS time? That doesn’t seem like much, but in my test a photo of my house showed to be taken 2 or 3 houses down the street. That is not a big deal until you’re photographing something like an ancient temple in Cambodia where you don’t have a known reference point. The Map Module does not allow you to adjust for this. How do you get everything to show up right in the Map Module, and have it geotag your photos correctly?
This requires synchronizing the camera time with the GPS track logger device (not the computer) to get the minutes and seconds right. What’s the best way to do that? Here are some thoughts.
Before leaving for your shoot, synchronize the time in your camera to a website with the correct time, like www.time.gov. This is the simplest and easiest if you remember to do it. I tested and it works. Set your camera time to 30 seconds ahead of the current time, and put your cursor on OK. Then as the website counts down to the time you set, simply hit OK and you’ll be right on.
If you forget to do that, there is another alternative. At the beginning of your shoot, press the POI or waypoint button on the data logger while simultaneously taking a photo. Compare the POI time stamp to the photo metadata to get an adjustment time. Then use Edit Capture Time in the Library Module to apply the adjustment time to all the photo metadata. In my GPX file the waypoints or POIs appeared with a <name> entry when viewed by Notepad. You can ignore the hours in the time entry and focus only on the minutes and seconds.
If you use a GPS device with a screen rather than a data logger (I don’t because of expense and bulk) then take a photo of the screen and later compare that time to the metadata time to get the adjustment time.
Finally, if you find out after the fact that you didn’t do any of these, here’s a work-around.
Find a photo that you can locate precisely on the map based on its contents. Roll the mouse cursor over the track log in the Map Module at the point where you know you took the photo. That is the time that should be on the photo. Compare that to the time actually in the photo Metadata and you’ll see what the time adjustment should be. Use that in the Library Module to edit the capture time. Using several photos if you can to get an average is best.
If your shoot doesn’t contain a photo for which you can precisely identify the location, go out in front of your hotel or guesthouse, walk an identifiable route, and shoot a photo at an identifiable location where you can. Unless your camera time has drifted substantially, that should be close enough.
If you’ve already applied the GPS data to the photos before correcting, simply select them all, and delete the GPS coordinates in the Metadata panel. You can autotag again in Map Module after you’ve adjusted the time.
    These solutions seem to work.
What additional thoughts, comments, or solutions would you like to add?

  • Ovi Maps 3.1 Sync Error!!!

I have Nokia N96 and each time I try to sync my places it shuts down. Maps just turn off ://
    Any idea why?

I sent nokia an email and here's the reply i got back.
Thank you for contacting Nokia Care.
With regards to your enquiry, kindly be advised that you can downgrade the do following:
To perform a downgrade on purpose:
    1. Downgrade the Maps application by performing a soft reset (*#7370#) or through the Nokia Software Updater (NSU). This process downgrades the Maps application to 2.0 but still leaves the Maps 3.0 data on the device.
    2. Clear the disk cache manually. To clear the disk cache manually, go to the mass memory directory or memory card and delete the content of the folder massmemory\cities\diskcache. This will clear the map data but will still leave a Maps 3.0 cookie on the device.
    3. To overwrite a Maps 3.0 cookie on the device, start the old Maps client once on mobile device.
This step is very important, as it allows the client to report itself correctly as the Maps 2.0 client.
    4. Restore the Maps 2.0 map data to the device, using the Map Loader or through over-the-air (OTA) download.
     Alternative manual procedure
1, Delete the qf file and the cities folder.
    2. Install Maps 2.0
    3. Start the client
    4. Download the map data
Does this make sense?  I replied back because i wasn't sure about the NSU for starters (it only does firmware upgrades or correct me if i'm wrong) and in other forums, doing a soft reset you lose applications like iplayer.  also the alternative looks suspect because two simple deletes and maps 2.0 is working?
    Any ideas?

  • Why is apple maps syncing my favorites?

Whenever I add a favorite in "maps" it gets synced to my other ios devices.
So far I haven't found a way to turn that off.
Every option in iCloud is turnef off.

I don't even have a SIM card inserted into the device, so I don't see how that could impact it. All other download services are working fine, with consistently about 15-20Mbps download speeds on Comcast. It is only Apple Maps that seems to have an issue. Trying TopoMaps, e.g., the map loaded instantly on places I have never searched before (ergo, map tiles were not cached).

  • I hate Apple maps, will Marvericks give me option to sync contacts with google maps?

Will Mavericks let me sync contacts with google maps or require sync to Apple Maps as does i0s7. I hate Apple maps.

I have exactly the same issue.  I updraged my iphone4 to iOS 5.0.1 and iTunes to version 10.5.2.11.  I'm also running Windows7, but 32bit.
And I can also confirm this used to work both ways.
Good thing is that the iTunes backup and restore kept the new iPhone contacts on my device during the upgrade.  But they are still not syncing to google.
So the bad news is that its broken and has been for some time now.

    Hi Guys,
Can any one help to find one sample scenario like ABAP Proxy --> PI --> JDBC Sync call ? Sync ABAP proxy sample code any 2 or more filelds going from ABAP proxy and maps on JDBC sync request, up date target side SQL server database tables, in case if any error happens error/success message must go back to SAP one Z table with response.
Any help would be really great!!
    Many thanks in advance

up date target side SQL server database tables, in case if any error happens error/success message must go back to SAP
    one Z table with response.
When you do an update you can get back the number of rows updated in the JDBC response....you can find this in the help page showing JDBC structure. If you are looking for any other response then probably the message needs to be genarated by PI itself after checking the response from JDBC.

  • Sync RFC call from XI

    Hi
I've a requirement for a XI Inbound Order that I need to check for each MATNR on the Order Line it's associated Division (SPART).  Once I know the Division I'll then split up the Order per Division.
Can I from my BPM collect the message, call a RFC via Send Sync Step to return the Divisions and then continue with my transformation ?
I was looking for an example of how to call an RFC from a BPM.  NOT using Sync<>Async bridge.
Does anybody have a link to a blog etc for that.?

    Hi,
You can either use RFC lookup in mapping or use Sync RFC call in the BPM.
Refer the Blog RFC Scenario using BPM --Starter Kit By Arpith Seth for Sync RFC call in BPM.
Refer this document [Mapping Lookups: Remote Function Calls API|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a03e7b02-eea4-2910-089f-8214c6d1b439] for making RFC lokup from mapping.

  • Async/Sync without BPM

Hi Experts, Just wondering if this scenario is possible? Client Proxy (Async) -> Web Service (Sync) -> Server Proxy (Async) I've read some blogs about the bridge using module processor (RequestResponseBean/ResponseOnewayBean). But usually, I only see the sender being synchronous given that Async cannot be mapped to a Sync interface. The reason behind this scenario is to take advantage of the queueing mechanism of Async and to make the scenario loosely coupled. Do we have other ways to do this without BPM and coding? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Mark
I think it's possible. You have to use request response bean in the receiver adapter.
The response bean will trigger a new interface and you have to configure one more ICO to map
that response to final async server proxy.
Generic PI Async-Sync Bridge Configuration for Any Adapters
You have to use virtual receiver for second scenario.

  • Sync Send in BPM...no trace in MONI, where can i find

    hi forum,
    I have a file>BPM->jdbc scenario,
    in the BPM i make a synchronous call to a BAPI(RFC) to a R/3,
and the response form this call is sent to JDBC,
now due to SXMB_MONI trace level set to 1, i cant see the details of this synchronous call, which has a Request mapping and Response Mapping,
Since this Syncronous call is made through a Sync Send, in a BLOCK, which has a exception branch, which catches in case of any error in Request or Response Mapping in this Sync SEND,
so i m unable to see if the error occured in Request or Response Mapping,
I CANT INCREASE THE TRACE LEVEL in MONI DUE TO RESTRICTIONS***(its production)
is there any table in R/3 or anywhere where i can see the mapping which failed....
    help

    Hi,
You can do one thing. Use transaction SXI_CACHE. Select the integration process double click it. You can drill down It will juz show a graphical descrption of untill which step the BPM has executed.
RWB: Check once with message monitoring.

  • Dynamic receiver Determination for Sync Scenario??

    Hello Experts,
I have a SOAP -> Xi -> R3 sync scenario i,e, R3 to send back response to SOAP client.
Also I need the Dynamic receiver determination.
When I try to create the Interface Mapping, I get the error:
    "Interface modi are different. "
    Source interface MI_My_sync_iface is synchronous.
Target interface  ReceiverDetermination | http://sap.com/xi/XI/System is asynchronous
I coud find few threads on forum related to this but i think there is no clear solution provided.
I do not wanna use BPM.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks in Advance!
    Appropriate point will be awarded.

    > So when I try to define a interface Mapping using a Sync interface as Source and Async interface as target, XI does not allow me to do so.
You are getting this error because in Interface mapping when you use sync source then it generates request and response tab so if at target side if you put anync interface then definetly it will go into error. You have to make both the interfaces as sync.
BTW, after getting the message in R3, how are processing the message? Are you using sync proxy??
You can solve the problem by creating one additional message interface of type inbound-asyn. Use this additional Message interfce in your Interface Determination. And create additional Receiver Agreement to deliver the message to it's destination.
Note: When you careate additional Interface Determination then you have to chose the response message interface (Sync message interface which returns the response from R3) as a source.

  • No mapping logic : soap to proxy scenario

    Hi,
I have a soap to proxy scneario with no mapping logic.wanted to confirm certain things.
    Wanted to confirm certain things.
    1) So i can exclude mapping and interface mapping step since i just need to pass value to proxy ?
    2) in interface determination ,what i need to provide for interface mapping ?
    3) sync proxy will be generated from one outbound message interface "( there will be only one outbound message interface which will be synchronous  : which will be synchronous ?
    4) in receiver business system , i need not put any message interface since we only have one outbound sync message interface
    Thnx

how many message interfaces wil be needed for synchronous scneario without mapping ?
Two....one for Sender (Outbound) and one for receiver (Inbound)
in case ur answer is 2 for above ? proxy needs to be generated from outbound or inbound interface?
For your SOAP --> XI/ PI --> PROXY, scenario the proxy should be generated for the inbound interface
    1) So i can exclude mapping and interface mapping step since i just need to pass value to proxy ?
If both the source and target structures are the same , then you do not need to perform mapping....do not create message and Interface mapping .....you should however create Interface Determination with appropriate Source and Target interfaces.
    2) in interface determination ,what i need to provide for interface mapping ?
Nothing.....including a mapping is not mandatory.
    4) in receiver business system , i need not put any message interface since we only have one outbound sync message
    interface
The message interface needs to be associated with the Business System.....it will be the inbound interface for SOAP --> XI --> PROXY scenario.

    Abhishek.

  • Is mapping possible between InterfaceA_Out(Asy) and InterfaceB_In(Syn)

    Hi All,
             I have the following scenario:
              jms(asyn)-->PI7.1->(SOA with request /response)
When I model this scenario in Integration repository as Integration scenario ,the connection between the two actions(jms  and SOA)  does not show any interface on the receiver side.It only shows on the sender side,so I am unable to map the interfaces and it fails to validate the model.
Please let me know what might be causing this.

your scenario assuming that you need to process the response message from the target is a Async - Sync one.
Regarding your specific question about Is mapping possible between InterfaceA_Out(Asy) and InterfaceB_In(Syn), the answer is no. you can only have an interface mapping between a sync interface to sync interface or async to async.
    you can read thru these links to give u an idea on how to configure JMS scenarios;
How to correlate JMS messages - https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/5059f110-0d01-0010-7c8b-fdc983be70c0
In case JMS scenario that you have is a sync one, in that case if you are below SP19 you might have to build a BPM - ref: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/83/d2a84028c9e469e10000000a1550b0/content.htm

  • Maps 3.08 - how to roll back to 3.06?

    Hi all,
Yesterday I updated Maps on my C6-01 (Anna updated) to version 3.08, which appeared on Nokia Suite.
I did like some of the new features of this new version, namely:
    a) it's possible to zoom and pan the map while viewing a saved routes;
    b) life traffic information is now available for my city (Porto Alegre, Brazil), although strangely it's only available while viewing a saved route.
But, I really hated the fact that Nokia have removed some features which are available on every Sat Nav system, even on the cheapest ones:
    a) Maps 3.08 can only navigate from the current position to a saved or searched point, or to any point on the map. There's no way to plan a route with several way points. That simple makes the system useless for me, as it definetily is not a GPS Sat Nav system at all! Of course I know that I allways can plan routes on Nokia Maps website and sync them to my phone. But what happens when I'm travelling abroad and I don't have access to a PC, or simply I don't want to? Its very bad having to allways rely on a PC for planing routes for a phone Nav system.
    b) The new map view on the drive or walk mode is terrible. I allways use the phone on portrait mode during car navigation, as I have a Nokia car holder which is safer if the phone is used on that position. During navigation, Maps 3.08 shows a huge black vertical bar at the left of the screen, which shows the next turn information. The result is that the screen area left for the map is very small.
That said, I'd like to ask two questions:
    1) Is it possible to have both Maps 3.08 and 3.06 on the phone? It would be nice to use traffic information and being able to zoom and pan the map while viewing a saved route.
    2) If that's not possible, how do I revert Maps to version 3.06? Does anyboy have the download link of the latest Maps 3.06 release for Anna? I have an installer named 'ovi_maps_inst_3_06_11wk23_b05_tb9_2_PS2_195660.sis', but I don't know if this is the latest one for Anna.
update: I just found out that Maps 3.06 is still available on Nokia Store and I already had the installer for the latest release.
    Best regards!

If I tried to verify a new contact's adress on the map, Maps 3.06 opened with an error. Same occured when I tried to locate an existing contact's address on the map.
The only solution was to uninstall Maps 3.06, install Maps 3.08, completly remove Maps 3.08 and installing Maps 3.06 again. Only after all those steps I was able to make the integration between contacts adressses and Maps work correctly."
    Kind regards.
You mean address within the contact? I don't use that. I keep my contact simple with only numbers, since I back-up my contact using my SIM. Though I don't have Map 3.08 embedded on my N8 V24, I don't have any option for uninstall. I only got two componet to uninstall as described in your post: /t5/Maps-Navigation-and-GPS/Nokia-Map-v3-08-app-Removal-method/m-p/1229377#M38242, uninstall was the first option I check and found no core program to uninstall. That why I've come on the forum and ask for link to the installer to 3.06. I suppose I can do a restore firmware on my phone, but that way too much of effort. The real solution here is for those idot at Nokia and MS dog Mr. Elop here to wake-up.
PS. I did read thorugh the post, but thanks for bring it up. But I believe different situation have different problem and solution, much like I have no method of uninstalling 3.08.
