N8 mic noise - both calls&video

Hi,
I've got a problem with my N8. The microphone(s) records fizz both during phone calls and recording video. I've tried flashing latest SW, but it seems to be HW problem, as no SW change has helped since now.
I dont know whether "fizz" is the most suitable word, so check it out in this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYMyvXvdQIs -totally quiet room
Is it possible that it is a hw problem? It just started to fizz one day, no fall, no bath.
Thanks,
Ondra

mine Just started doing the same, Just like that, No drop, No water. Then this Nokia phone is probably not made on good quality. I wonder if this expensive devices are fabricated to last one year of guaranty. It would not be good for Nokia, at this time, something like this in hands of the public. Bad quality products. I hope that I can take this to Nokia and that then can fix it for Me. . . Other wise I am making a couple of many angry videos about this issue. I am part of the video and picture Comunity of Nokia and everyone will know about this hard ware issue on Nokia N8 AFTER ONE YEAR OF USAGE. My youtube channel is carlodimaximus , Just ro you can see that I am all about Nokia videos and pics. Also Nokia care sucks big time here in Panama republic.

  • During a skype VIDEO call, do both caller and rece...

I see this question aksed all over the internet with no answers anywhere.  Why?  Please could someone clarify what the average data usage is per minute on a skype video call and whether the usage applies to both caller and receiver.  Thanks.

Please take a look at this support content which should answer your question:
    https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA1417/how-much-bandwidth-does-skype-need
The data volume that one user is sending is obviously also applying as data volume for the receiving user. If you want to be really exact you should check if you volume rate only includes downstream or also upstream volume.

  • Mic is too sensitive, calls constantly cut out. People tell me y loud, and it sounds like I'm in a tunnel. Any background noise, and call is completely cutting out. This occurs all the time, but more so using earphones with in cord mic.

I have iphone5 ios6 and the Mic is too sensitive, and calls constantly cut in and  out. People tell me there is loud background noise and it sounds like I'm in a wind tunnel. Any background noise, and call completely cuts in and out and sounds as if call is dropping. This occurs all the time, but more noticeable while using earphones with in cord mic. I never had this problem with my old iphone4. Has anyone experienced this, and is there a setting that can correct this problem?

Same problem for me.  So bad in fact that I can't really use my headphones for calls.  I have tried it with several sets of headphones.  My primary are the Bang and Olufsen headphones which were great with the previous iphone 4 and 3.
    Apple please address this issue.

  • Line mic noise preamp USB hiss eliminate how?

Setup: Garageband 08, Tube MP ART project Series USB preamp, and a professional-grade non-powered ribbon mic. There is a dedicated booth for the mic.
The preamp gain needs to be turned way up to get an acceptable but seemingly-low recording level from the mic into GB.
So the preamp is set at +35dB gain (max is +45dB) and the optional gain booster of +20d is enabled. The preamp functions Impedance, Filter, Phantom, Limit, and Phase are disabled. (I know that Phantom power should not be used with the mic I have.) High quality shielded mic cable.
On playback, I can here a noticeable difference - there is silence between the gaps of spoken words - there is "noise" under the spoken parts. It is not room noise.
I can use Bias' SoundSoap (or play with the Noise Gate plugins I have installed) but to totally eliminate the noise, both the above effects muffle the sound and it can also sound out of phase.
How can I maintain a clear recorded voice that does not have that noticeable difference between the gaps of the spoken parts?
There's so much information out there yet I can't find an answer for non-technies.

Well lowering your input impedance should help sonically with a ribbon but...
The button on the preamp is set on "high".
The mic specs says the mic impedance is <=200 ohms

Do you have a way to use another interface?
Only this preamp. Is the trouble with the USB Codec? I think I once saw a way to bypass the USB Audio Codec used by the preamp, and instead use the Mac "line in" setting while still using the preamp. Change the settings in the Sound Preference pane and/or Audio-MIDI Setup? Also, regarding Audio-MIDI Setup, no matter what I try, cannot make the 48000 setting stay enabled in Audio-MIDI Setup on the left side. It always reverts to 44000. I saw a thread here about it a year ago, and I guess this was never solved.
As an aside Phantom Power itself will not hurt Ribbons. The issue is if pin 2 or 3 were to short to ground with Phantom Power on. I've left Phantom Power on many times with ribbons.
The Nady manual (from here: http://www.nady.com/RSM4micspg.html) says phantom power will destroy the ribbon in this mic.)
    How about this:
I decrease the preamp mic gain, and increase recording level in GB. And, can you confirm how to increase the recording level in GB? :-|

  • I can't get skype to alert me of incoming calls/videos/messages on my apple device

I can't get skype to alert me of incoming calls/videos/messages on my apple device, unless I have the app open in front of me.I have tried to contact different microsoft help desks. I have checked all my settings and have looked at all the help forums available and now am turning to you.Isn't it possible to be notified of incomming calls/videos/messages when my phone is in standby mode? Any help?

I'll assume you have allowed notifications from Skype turned on both in the device settings and in the app settings.
The only other thing I can suggest is checking that the conversations have not been muted by the app (go into the conversation, tap ..., tap notifications and make sure notifications are on) as the iPad version has a nasty habit of doing this without warning.

  • Does DVI to Video adapter send both s-video and composite simoutanesly?

    Hi,
I´m wondering if you connect the DVI to Video adapter on the new MacMini (DVI to s-video+composite), does the Mini send BOTH s-video and composite at the same time?
If connected to TV and projector, I want to see both simotanesly, not neede to change something in the setup...
The both having same resolution I guess is a must!
    Regards,
    Pat

Yes, many think, but i´ve havnt heard anyone whoose sure?! Can´t be such a odd thing, connect a Mini to two displays at same same time...

  • HT1399 Why cant I create a playlist for my music/song videos? Continuous play is also not possible in the video app on the phone!!!! previously, prior to IOS 6, it was possible to have both music videos & songs mixed in the same playlist in the music app

Why cant I create a playlist for my music/song videos? Continuous play is also not possible in the video app on the phone!!!! previously, prior to IOS 6, it was possible to have both music videos & songs mixed in the same playlist in the music app

I am back with an update. I turned off Match on both the ipad and the iphone 5. By doing so I was able to sync my Iphone and ipad to itunes and store the music on my devices rather than the slow streaming.  So far this has fixed my problems with the iphone I have all my music, playlist, most of the album art and so on.  But the ipad is a different story.  I have the music and artist but not one playlist  I am sure Apple will have an upgrade soon that will address these issues they are usually very good about this.
Now have any of you experienced another problem that has existed as long as I have used faces in Aperture.
I have over 200 faces and they are organized a-z problem is I have this going on A-Z folowed by a few that start over A-Z followed by another few A-Z and again a 4th time A-Z.  Imagine how difficult it is while I am showing someone the great features of my iphone, ipad and imac.  Which I do talk highly of all the time.  But how do I explain that even though their name starts with a or b or what ever they are not important enough to me to be in the first list of A-Z or even the 2nd or 3rd list of A-Z someohow they are in the 4th section of the list!!!!
I have managed to get the Imac to fix this but for some reason the IOS devices do not.   Any ideas?
    Thanks Al

  • Does the video adapter output both S-Video and Composite simultaneously?

I have a multi-zone receiver which converts S-Video to component for the main zone and passes S-Video signals through to zone 2 but does not convert them to composite which is how that zone is set up. I solved a similar problem with my DVD player by connecting both the component output and composite output of the DVD player to the receiver allowing high quality viewing in the lounge room and passable viewing in the bedroom.
I realise the quality from the adapter is questionable particularly for composite but I'm still interested if both S-Video and composite signals are output from the MBP 17" via the adapter simultanesouly.
    Thanks,
    Max.

I have a follow-up question which may help answer the original question. Does the MBP have to detect the external display when connected via S-Video/Composite in the same way that it has to when connected via DVI? My Dell notebook had so much trouble detecting composite and S-Video connections that eventually I gave up so I'm a little "once bitten twice shy" on this. If the MBP doesn't attempt to detect the external display via S-Video or composite then it must output both S-Video and Composite signals continuously (which would be great).
    Thanks,
    Max.

  • Can i use both Component video and HDMI?

    Hi guys,
Im wondering if its possible to connect both Component video and HDMI on the ATV?
Its currently connected to HDMI on our main HD TV, however, the apartment we have has a strange setup in which you must send RF signals to a loop back in the main room to reach all other TV's.
We dont have the capital for either another flatscreen TV or a second Apple TV until next year - so currently we've got an older (see 2004) bulk of a CRT TV upstairs and my thought was i could route a signal to the RF loop back from the ATV and use my iphone remote to control what it plays to view upstairs.
For this id need a component to composite/rf convertor which ive found so sending the signal is no problem, but what would happen if i were to connect component cables as well as the HDMI, does the ATV output on both, or priortise the HDMI?

When both types of cable are connected to the tv at the same time, the HDMI connection will be on by default but the component is turned off... and what happens if the source to the HDMI cable is off - eg its plugged in but its got no where to send the signal, would it still not send to the component?.. You mean if the tv was off, same thing, HDMI would take precedence.
Are you sure about this, Winston? I have only 2 component (and 2 HDMI) inputs on my Panasonic HDTV. For this reason I invested in an Audio Authority Component Switcher (Model 1154A) a few years ago. When the TV device arrived I connected it directly to the HDTV via my HDMI-2 HDTV input and also connected the component video and optical audio to the switcher. I have no problem using the HDTV's input selector to switch back and forth between component and HDMI lines. While I admit I cannot split the screen between an HDMI input and anything else for simultaneous viewing, I can leave both lines plugged in and switch between the two lines. In addition, the activity light on the switcher indicates there is a signal present on the switcher even when I am watching the HDMI line. (Of course, this may simply be triggered by the switcher's optical audio signal since I normally watch the TV video via the HDMI line (with HDMI audio muted) and use the optical audio line to drive my receiver's AC3 decoder so I can enjoy 5.1 audio with my latest conversions.) Am, therefore, wondering if the OP may have the same capability and could then simply switch to a different input mode to "de-negotiate" his HDMI connection and allow access to whatever component device he needs as long as he doesn't need simultaneous viewing on both TVs.

  • How to create bdc for fbs1 using both call transaction and session

    Hi Friends,
i have one problem with tcode FBS1, i need to create a bdc program for both call transaction and session method using subroutine.
first call transaction needs to execute if there is an error sesion has to execute. if u have code please forward.
    thanks in advance.
    chandramouli pothugunta

where as in call transaction we can do error handling explictly.those errors  are stored in one file .this file will send to the error log(session method),i.e session log.
in the above case we use both call transaction n session method at time in one program.sample code is below ,go through it .
    data : begin of itxk01 occurs 0,
    end of itxk01.
data : bdcdata like itbdcdata occurs 0 with header line.
data : itbdcmsgcoll like itbdcmsgcoll occurs 0 with header line,
itxk01 like itxk01-dup occurs 0 with header line.
    call gui-upload.
    loop at itxk01.
    refresh itxk01.
    perform bdc-dynpr0 using 'prg' 'scr'
    perform bdc-dynfld using fnam fval
call transaction 'xk01' using bdcdata mode 'a' update 's' messages into itbdcmsgcoll.
    if sy-subrc ne 0.
    append itxk01 into  itxk01-dup.
    endif.
    endloop.
    if not itxk01-dup[] is initial.
    refresh itck01.
    call bdc_open_group
    itxk01 = itxk01-dup.
    loop at itxk01.
    refresh itxk01.
    perform bdc-dynpr0 using 'prg' 'scr'
    perform bdc-dynfld using fnam fval
    call bdc-insert.
    endloop.
    call bdc-close-group.
    form bdc-dynpr0 using pr sc
    endform .
    form bdc-field  using fnam faval
    endform.
    this will help u.
    reward points for me

  • How can i reduce the noise on this video?

I have used Keylight to key some chromokey footage onto a white background.
However, I still have a lot of noise on the video, by this I mean fuzzyness, instead of good rich colors - you can see for yourself if you download a sample of the file which I have linked to here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MmBGI-JUMk
Obviously the actual file has proper dimensions unlike the YouTube example! This example also doesn't show the noise quite as well as the actual Flash file, it's a little more intense than it looks here.
How can I make the video fuller in color, to reduce the noise....?
    Thanks.

The noise looks like genuine camera noise from poor lighting with ramped up sensor sensitivity. Therefore, as a start, I'd run the clip through a pre-comp and use the Remove Grain effect or tools like RevisionFX' DE:Noise, Red Giant's Key Correct Pro and so on. If it's DV/ HDV or similar, some de-blocking by ways of similar tools is also recommended. This should already improve matters notably. Then, as Sébastien said, study the super tight junk matte tutorial and apply the technique to your footage. The less pixels to key, the more efficiently the keyer can expand its range on the remaining ones. If you then still experience jaggy/ noisy edges a second application of the aforementioend plug-ins might do the trick. Other options include tools like Twixtor, SmoothKit, RSMB, RE:Fill etc. to mend holes and smear gaps. also, since the person is wearing dar clothes, the old trick of using a dark Inner Glow might also be applicable.

  • How to synchronize both audio & video received through AVTransmit2.java ?

    hi,
I will transmit an local video file using AVTransmit2.java, but the problem is i am not able to synchronize both
audio & video streams transmitted. I have an applet which receives both the streams(audio & video) but it
plays in different players. how to synchronize both the players ?
    thanks

I know that In Midlet development using MMAPI there are APIs available to synronize the players like
    p1.setTimaBase(p2.getTimeBase())
But I am not using Players. Through http connection I m getting the raw image data and displaying it through ImageItem i.e no players required.
Therefore If i stream the audio like this How to synchronize that.
    I relly need ur Help

  • Digital noise on the Video

I have A Sony Digital camcorder (DCR-TRV130). I connected it to my Mac using firewire connection to capture some video.
I am using Fuji Digital tape.
Unfortunately I get lot's of <<noise>> in the video sector while the audio is perfect. Whenever I get the <<video noise>>I also get scratching sound in the audio. Is it a compatibility problem with the certain camcorder or there is a workaround in the settings? I tried to check if there is something in the settings that looks suspicious but I could find nothing. Your help will greatly appreciated. (the last thing I want to do is fire up my Wintel machine again)!
    Power Mac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   2GB Ram

Sounds like a bad spot on the tape or dirty playheads in the camcorder (so you get the "noise" even if the footage was taken in bright sunlight, right??). Try to run a cleaning tape session (don't overdo it, follow the instructions). If that fails, I'd consider taking the camcorder for adjustments to a repair shop.

  • How to delete background noise on home video

How do I delete background noise on home video? Am transferring old Sony Camcorder tapes to DVD, using Adobe Premier Elements 11, Windows 7

    Grandmaomi
Do you want to delete the whole audio from your home video and replace it with something else or do you want to do as you describe "delete background noise on home video"?
If the latter, a lot will be dependent on the nature of the background noise? Have you worked with any of the audio effects under fxEffects Tab/audio effects.
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premiereelements/using/WS4B8135DA-083C-42eb-B09E-65070ECBC889. html#WSF8CBE888-6702-4f8b-A85E-71B4B1531883
Please see the description of the audio effects described under "audio effects" in the above Adobe document on Effects Reference.
If one of these noise removal audio effects does not work for you, you might explore Noise Reduction in the free audio editor Audacity.
    http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Noise_Removal
We will be watching for your review of the above and your results.
    Thank you.
