N8 - Ovi Music issue

Hi,
After restarting my phone (it had some of the bugs listed on this forum...) i've found I can't access to my user details on ovi music application.
It opens browser and there are 3 icons at the bottom: home, details, search. When I press "home" or "details" it says "internet connection time expired".
Has anyone experienced same issue?
I gave my phone to a Nokia care point... they recover the Social widget, but ovi music is not working properly.

Try clearing the privacy data on the browser, it may allow you to log in again, also try another connection via wifi !

  • OVI Music and Nokia Music store login issues

    Hi,
    Yesterday Nokia rebranded Nokia Music store to OVI Music in India. Earlier I had Nokia Music Store account as OVI login was not supported in Nokia Music store.
    So my Nokia Music account and OVI login were different.
    Now when login to music.ovi.com and select India as country , I am asked to login.
    I can login with my OVI id but then dont see remaining tracks and download history.
    I login with my older Nokia Music account and I can see remaining tracks and History.
    Some of my friends report that in their case , their Nokia Music and OVI account are merged and tracks and history details are still there.But this has not happened in my case.
    Please let me know when Nokia will be able to merge 2 accounts for me. or is there any way I can do it myself? I know that similar thing happened for OVI share and Sports Tracker accounts but they were eventually merged with single OVI account.

    I have replied this in other thread too-
    "Me too having same issue, i got an email from nokia music that our older usernames have been changed with OVI at the end of old username and password remaining the same. As soon as you receive this email u can see your download history of earlier . and i tried to login by my friends account too by putting OVI at the end of username, the balance of tracks was there but download history is not there. So i think we all have to wait for that email to come from nokia music care to confirm about our account being updated with download history."

    i have purchased my mobile on nov 11th of 2010, its music unlimited edtion. but i came to knw thats its a defect piece, and so i was replaced with new handset by NOKIA care, but now the mobile is displaying a message that its not music unlimited edition, even i was not replaced with same coloured n8

    To add to greycounciller's post.. even though the versions may be market specific, you must have got the replacement in the same region , hence the issue of market specific should not arise..
    I advise you to get it replaced again with the colour of your choice and OVI Music Unlimited.. If you do not get satisfied, Pl. use the 'Contact Us' tab at the top of this page and inform Nokia about the issue..

  • Download Failed - Ovi Music Unlimited - X6-00

    Hi,
    I recently purchased X6-00 8GB. I have activated Ovi Music Unlimited on my laptop. But I am unable to download even one song. The download starts and then after 10-50%, the download restarts. Over and over again. After multiple attempts, I get the message 'Download failed'. Really frustrating.
    I saw that this type of error is already being discussed, but I could find any solution posted. Can someone please let me know how to resolve this issue?!
    Phone: Nokia X6-00 (8GB)

    I have been trying to get a solution for this problem from Nokia through email, but no such luck.
    Each conversation is replied by a different executive. Solutions provided are lame, and repeated by each executive. And they simply don't read the mail properly. 
    In any case, I have found a temporary workaround:
    Open Internet Explorer, and go to music.nokia.com
    Sign-in with your Nokia account (you may have to set your country the first time)
    Search/Browse and find the song you want to download
    Click on the download button, and you will get a prompt to install Ovi Music Downloader software the first time
    After installing, you can download the songs through your computer without any problem, but there is a catch - you have to connect your Nokia mobile to your computer, and the song gets directly downloaded to your mobile.
    Not a complete solution, but it works for me! It does, however, tell me that the problem is not with my net connection or PC or browser or windows media player - the problem is some bug in Nokia Ovi Player!!

    As it seems there are some confusion around to what the experience is when logged in to Ovi Music Unlimited, I have taked some screenshots which I hope illustrate the difference between having an active Ovi Music Unlimited subscription and being a A la carte customer.
    If you are still having issues after logging in to your account with not being able to download music for free, please take a screenshot which shows product prices and your username (like image 2 in the document) and contact Nokia Care. Be prepared to send them this screenshot, together with your username and you IMEI number.

    After all the changes Nokia applied to Ovi - that I used to download music only - I lost the list of downloaded music and some credit I had. Could that be restored?

    Whenever i try to activate the unlimited downloads with my pin it says wrong pin........
    I called up the customer care, emailed to nokia but to no avail please help me!!!

    Try to call back Nokia Care in India - http://www.nokia.co.in/get-support-and-software/contact-us/nokia-careline - to explain your issue. They should be able to check it out. Your phone IMEI and Ovi music PIN code are needed so, you could check them beforehand.

  • Unavailability of OVI Music on newly purchased 701

    I purchased 701 model on 29 September 2012 from Nokia PP in Hyderabad.As per specifications free 12 months subscription is available on this model. I have upgraded software version to service pack2 subsequently. OVI music item is not getting opened and I am not able to download music on to my mobile. Can anybody kidnly guide me in this regard.

    There was an issue with the music app in FP2, this is what caused the update to be temporarily withdrawn. The problems are now fixed and the update can be downloaded again, those who updated before the temporary withdrawal should try to reinstall the update with Nokia Suite.

    I am a Nokia user from India. I have Nokia N70. I have no vouchers or unlimited subscription. I do not want to change my phone as it work really well. There is some Pay Credit feature which I can't see how to activate. Does that mean I can't use Nokia's OVI Music store.

  • OVI music will not play any music on PC any more

    Hi there
    I have 5800 CWM phone and the CWM licence expired in October 2010.  Tthat's fine, as I was able to keep playing the music I had downloaded on both my registered PC and the phone itself.
    After a little while I  could no longer transfer music from PC to phone.  I have about 20GB of music and the phone has about 5GB of space for music so periodically I would transfer different stuff to the phone.
    Then I started being unable to play some songs on the PC at all - licence problems for some songs while others would play OK.
    Now I can not play any music on the PC at all.  I'm getting an error messge saying there is no licence, then an optimistic message saying "Your licence is being delivered" which would not happen.  Then I would get a message saying I needed to delete the song/album and redownload it from my download history.  I can see my download history but no longer have an option to re-download it - I  can only buy it.
    Additionally I am now getting a messge saying that "We can't sign you in" and that I need an OVI Music account which I already have.  I can login to Ovi.com with it just fine.
    This is starting to get really tiresome.  From having a handset which i could download any music for a year and keep after the year was up, on both the PC and the phone.  I now only have the music that is already on the phone.  The remaining music I can't access and indeed can't play any of it at all on the PC.
    Does anyone else have this kind of problem that has been fixed?  BTW it is now a level 3 support problem with no fix in sight.  Sorry for the long post.

    hi,I have the same problem and this,given the fact that i ave a one year unlimited licence for downloads. I am convinced that Nokia India is fooling people with these type of tactics and therefore I have consulted my lawyers to file a suit or Rs. 1.5 crores against the company for harming my legal interets as a consumer. I am confident that after this NOkia gets to know about my suit, they wil all stop this illegal practices of cheating the consumers.

  • Failed sign in loop when logging onto Ovi music.

    Managed to sign in to ovi music once and made the mistake of tickimg 'remember me' option. Now every time i try sign in it goes into an automatic loop of signing in and failing. Tried emailing nokia and ovi and no one seems to be able to help. I do not have pc access and use my N8 for all internet activity. This ovi site is the most frustrating ever.

    If you have a comes with music phone, the music you download is actually free, the data used to download it has to be paid for (as does any connection to the internet for any download), the way round this is to set up a wlan connection and use that, or download to your computer and sync with Ovi suite via usb cable !

    The Ovi music seems to be downloaded successful but can't be played. There is also a key next to each song. Has anyone got a solution?

    i have reasonably good net connection and even with that this error occurs

    You do the downloading straight on your phone, right? If that's the case, check your access point by going to Menu> Settings> Connectivity> Destinations> Check if you have the right access point assigned.
    Try reinstalling OVI client - Menu> Settings> Application mgr.> Installed Apps> Ovi Store Client> Options> Uninstall - after that you can obtain an installer from this page : http://store.ovi.com/content/5406
    Also you can try checking if you have the latest software installed on your phone by going to Menu> Telephone> Input this code: *#0000# - as of this date the latest is V21 (May vary per region)

           I have a Nokia X6 16GB, and I have a nokia ovi account and it has not expired yet, earlier i used to download music tracks and albums by signing in Ovi music account and tapping on button of download, and i have not changed my internet connection and every thing else is working fine in the phone, but since last week whenever i tap on download button my downloading doesn't start, tried with single tracks and albums ( different one also ), and I have done basic troubleshooting steps, like restarting, taking out/in my sim card and soft resetting my phone all of these things doesn't work, ..... So please help me out in this case so that I can download my music albums ....
