N8 - Ovi Suite - Lose connection in Update to Ann...

I already Reset the fone, delete everything using  *#7370#, Reinstall the Ovi, Restart PC,  use another port... and ever same problem
After download the Anna (arround 300mb) he start install in fone, and send message: please dont disocnnect... ignore all messages from windows bla bla bla.. after fone restart will join in blank page
after this, fone shutdown, and no turn ON again,  just the windows keep the sound of USB connect/disocnnect every 2sec, and fone still off,  after several times,  Ovi send a message of Error that lose connection with the Fone...
Say to remove Batery (this is a joke right?) and turn on the Phone... and click in Try Again
But before I can touch the fone, He turn On, like nothing has happened...
If I click in Try again.. message repeat....
So... any solution?  Any idea whats going on with this Phone?
(sorry any mistake, coz my main language isnt english)

Hi man, I have the same problem and no way to solve it.
I have encountered very bad issues with this cell phone. I expected more from Nokia. I choose this device (N8-00) instead of iPhone because I was really satisfied with Nokia old phones.. But no luck with this one. The fact is that the 500 euros I have paid the phone were not so buggy! Nokia choose to have my money this time not giving me any decent service nor a well working phone.
I am so sorry for this, but Nokia lost more than one customer for this reason. Me, my wife (she also has a N8) and other family members and friends, all af ones has paid the same euro amount!!
Bad, bad thing, dear Nokia. Even the missing answers you give for this issues demonstrates how little you care your customers and how much you care their money.
I'll never give you a chance, 'cause I worked hard to have the money I gave you without any reason.
Take care of you.

Since two weeks I just cannont acces the server from the update service on ovi suite. I've never had that problem before the error I get is this one:
    network connection error
nokia ovi suite software update service is not responding make sure the internet connection is working o check your firewall settings and try again later
    network connection error
"nokia ovi suite software update service is not responding make sure the internet connection is working or check your firewall settings and try again later"
My connection works just fine and I disabled the firewall and antivirus, so I don't know what's happening.
I have a N86 8MP and even though I know I cannot get a nex firmware I just want to reinstall the firmware but it's impossible to do it.
One last question, is it posssible to make a downgrade of the phone's firmware?
    Thank you!

It seems a server problem..keep trying..
Meanwhile you can uninstall and reinstall NOS again if there is some thing wrong with Ovisuite
    1. Uninstall Ovi Suite, PC Connectivity solution and Nokia Connectivity cable drivers from Add/remove program if anything is there.
    2. Delete the files from here If anything is there
    C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Nokia\Ovi Suite
    C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Nokia
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\OviInstallerCache
    3. Please search and download MSI clean up utility from microsoft website
Once installed please select the programs related to Nokia and click remove.
    Restart Computer.
Then download from microsoft website and install Windows Installer, so that the installer is upto date.
    4. Restart the PC
    5. Download and Install latest OviSuite http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/nokia-ovi-suite
    6. Connect the device and try

  • Ovi suite always connects thru the mobile, not dir...

I am trying to update the software in my n8-00 to fix a connection problem. (so, I can't connect to internet at this stage thru my mobile) I installed the ovi suite and tried to update it (as mentioned in nokia site as an alternative to updating the nokia software using mobile phone itself) . Ovi suite doesn't connect to internet if the mobile is not connected. when the mobile is connected, it alsways connects thru the mobile. I want to update the ovi suite via the internet connection I already have in my laptop, which is thru the wireless lan. Can some body help me?

If what you mean by 'fix a connection problem' is related to the internet on your mobile..call your operator and request them to send Aceess Points settings.. First delete all the existing Access points from the phone... and when the settings are received ( normally thru' SMS).. open the message and select 'SAVE'... Now see if your connection problem is resolved or not..( without any software update...)
If not then again delete all the Access Points.. Now try the Software update thru' OVI suite.. Since the settings are deleted.. OVI Suite should use the Internet from the Laptop... Once done.. again open the SMS and select 'SAVE' to set the Access Points...

  • OVI Suite not connecting to map server - NOT SOLVE...

Because this /t5/Nokia-Ovi-Suite/OVI-Suite-not-connecting-to-map-server/td-p/708275 discussion has been marked as solved and it's not. I wonder when we'll have any feedback from Nokia Support? It must be the new Nokia Ovi Suite causing the problem because we all have the same problems. I have tried on three different computers with good stable internet connections and get the "connection timed out" error on all of them. Using Nokia 5230 and have tried both on XP and Vista.

    @mokrypes
This seems to be working now. I tried today to download US maps and it completed and installed without any issues. Guess there was some problem with the map server.

  • Pc suite/ovi suite loses software connectivity via...

    Hi there,
    Software in use:
    PC Connectivity Solution:
     Version 10.50.2.0
    Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver:
    Version 7.1.36.0
    Operating system:
    Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit Edition
    Language: English
In both lastest Nokia Pc Suite  or Ovi Suite, very often , most frequently when using the messages area, the connectivity it's lost with the phone at the software level (E51).
The telephone still looks connected via USB, but I'm not able for example to refresh/resync messages, or send messages.
However phone still present in device manager, and the usb symbol on the phone screen it is still present without disconnection.
I've tried uninstalling of pc suite, using also the pc suite cleaner, upgrading to the latest firmware for the phone, but no luck.
The issue arrised after upgrading to a version of pc suite, latest at that time, maybe two - four weeks ago or so (7.1).
If you have any suggestions kindly please share.
Also if any of you have a link to an older version for pc suite 7.0 I'm thinking to try a downgrade.
    Many thanks,
    Eugene.

Downgraded to 7.1.50.2 , issue still persists.
Problem started not after software upgrade as I wrongly assumed, but after switching from 32 bit to 64 bit system.

  • OVI Suite not connecting to map server

After installing the latest NOKIA software updater, the OVI Suite is not connecting  to the map server. It stays: "Wait while retreiving the available maps..." for ever. I unistalled the updater, but the problem is still there. Any ideas to solve this?
    Solved!

Same problem with my Nokia X6 - "The connection to the Ovi Maps timed out". Now I have no maps
Nokia, give us the old version of Ovi Suite - this one is a piece of **bleep**. I tested on 3 different computers and the problem appeared on each of them regardless that 1 of the computers was with Ovi Suite and PC Suite already installed, the other had only Ovi Suite installed and the third had nothing of the above installed.

  • [N900] Ovi Suite USB Connection

    Hello *,
I am unable to connect my N900 via USB to the most recent version of Ovi Suite. I have the latest firmware installed on the N900, in particular PR 1.3. Connecting it via Bluetooth works fine. "PC-Suite" Mode is selected. But no connection is determined. I have double-checked the problem with my old E90, which connects correctly.
I am not quite sure, but I believe that this problem occurred since the upgrade of the N900 to PR 1.3. There have been a couple of other problems occuring since then. After deploying the PR 1.3 upgrade bluetooth OBEX functionality stopped working, as did the Explorer Plugins provided by the deprecated PC-Suite. A switch to Ovi Suite did not get things better.
    Any suggestions are appreciated :-)

  • Ovi Suite silently connecting to Internet via Phon...

Since upgrading to Ovi Suite (2.2.1.23) I've found that it will silently connect to the Internet via my phone (E72) if there is any interruption to my wifi connection. I guess that it's tyring to do something "smart" and keep my connection alive, but at the expense of my mobile data plan.
I've managed to spot this as the speed drops markedly, but I don't think that I'd be so lucky if I was in an Internet cafe etc. where the difference in service might not be so great.
I haven't seen anyone else report this exact issue, although Ovi Suite does seem keen to connect via the phone instead of established Internet for some operations.
So have I missed something in the setup that can stop this?

  • Solution for Ovi Suite 3 connectivity issue on Win...

I tried searching web for solutions but in vain, so I found it in a way I never anticipated for Nokia software though I used it many times for other software)))
After much pain, there's a simple solution for those using at least Windows 7 (as I do).
After installing Ovi Suite, do not run it out of installer, but just finish it.
Right-click on Ovi Suite, choose Properties (bottom line), in the window that appeared chose Compatibility tab, there select Run this program in compatibility mode - Windows Xp Service Pack 2.
Then OK or Apply - anyhow, after applying these settings, launch Ovi Suite, choose Use bluetooth instead (my problem was that the 'installing bluetooth modem stage' was looong and resulted in failure and, thus, impossibility to connect. Even through 'shamanism' syncing didn't work).
REMARK! On Serching for bluetooth devices you may need to do Search again so that after selecting your phone, Next button became active -> then as by the book)
    Now works.
Nokia programmers don't know how to handle Windows 7 API properly???

    [SOLVED]
    My Solution:
    1) Backup contacts using PC Suite.
    2) Update firmware to v410 using PC Suite. Install my phone E66
    2) Uninstall K lite codec pack n remove all related registry.
    3) Import contacts back to my phone E66. Uninstall PC Suite and all nokia related drivers, registry n folders from computer. Phone driver also uninstall.
    4) Reboot. Install OVI Suite 2.1.1.1. Install E66
    5) Download n install K lite codec Full version 5.6.0. Set ffd show filter to open as many media files as possible. Set ffd show filter to open base on whitelist. Set ovi suite and nokiamserver.exe into ffd show filter blacklist.
This solved my problem 2 above. Hopefully its not a temporary fixed.
    6) In OVI suite select auto sync off for everything. Connect E66 to phone, wait for 10 to 15 mins. Backup function should work. Backup phone.
With this problem 1 above is solved.
Last but not least, use task manager to kill nokiamserver.exe process manually. After ovi suite is exited. Hopefully, nokia will set ovi suite to kill the process when ovi suite exits in the near future.
    7) Now you can add applications, configure your phone with your operator settings.
    Cheers.

First the update does not want to install due to a bad signature, now I am now receiving the error "Internal error"  "Install packet ID not sent" can someone at Nokia please fix the update errors so that we can update Ovi suite?
Surely it is not too much to ask.
    Meshki

I guess this is happening because of the server issue, i just updated my ovi suite to the latest version and its working fine.

not 100% fix, but I find it works on first connection upon launching the intial Ovi suite, and then if I disconnect I get the same error.
Closing/re-opening the Suite sometimes fixes it.
OR another temporarary fix would be to actually connect for a few seconds to the internet (effectively using the N8 as a modem) and then stop the modem (ie, still USB connected).. it seems to fix it occasionally.

  • C6 - Windows 7, Ovi Suite and connection via Bluet...

    Hello
I have a problem with connection my Nokia C6 with computer (system Windows 7) via Bluetooth.
Ovi found the device, move on to the next step. Displays the message "Your computer may be required to install the Bluetooth modem", then a long, long time nothing. And then an error "Can not connect to the device. " What could be wrong?

I have the same trouble with my E71 and Lenovo TP w510 (Windows-7-64).
I've made clean install recently (disc crash) and I have now everything up2date - system, drivers, BT (Microsoft stack) and latest OVI suite. But I can't connect with BT (same messages and then error). However, I can browse my phone directly (windows BT connect) easilly.
Before disc crash I've had Office 2007 and OVi Suite 2.xx together with PC Suite (ver. 7) and everything worked ok. Now with clean install of all latest system, drivers and sw it doesnt work. This is what make me furious with Nokia and their SW - it is worthless. By my opinion the step from PC Suite to OVI Suite is is like step from ugly good horse to fancy dressed **bleep**. You have no control of syncing things not even a proper logs etc. This is simple stupid. And OVI messed thing many times. For example - lately it write me some events (serise) all over many days in my caledar. And gues what - it looks it is immpossible to clean whole calendar with one simple move on the phone.
I am seriously looking for a new phone and it looks like this is my last Nokia.

  • E-72 OVI Suite-USB Connection Issue

    Model: E-72
    OS: 031.023
    OVI Suite Version: 2.2.1.23
Laptop OS: Windows 7 Enterprise 64 Bit
Problem: When connecting the phone via USB, OVI Suite suggests that the phone is not in PC Suite mode where as I've selected PC Suite mode when it prompts also by going to
Ctrl Pnl>Connect>USB. But no luck, restarted Laptop multiple times, also the phone.
OVI works fine with Blutooth for all sync etc but I need USB connection working to upgrade mobile software.
Other Observations: When phone is connected via USB Windows 7 detects it as S60 device with options of manage media, browse files, import picture, not sure if this is related. Also the device shows error and requires troubleshooting in modem mode because of bluetooth peripheral device is not installed due to not being able to find appropriate driver.
This is a new phone and new OS, using for first time with USB cable, it never worked, no changes made that could be trigger for this issue, any help will be greatly appreciated

    Hi gmudgal83
I am not sure whether this will solve your problrm but you could try this once.
    1. Disconnect your phone from PC if connected.
2 .Open Control Panel and go to ‘Programs and Features’
    3. From the list of available programs, choose ‘Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver’
    4. Click on the ‘Change’ button on top toolbar.
    5. In the setup dialog box that pops up next, choose ‘Repair’ and select ok. Wait for setup to complete.
    6. Restart the computer if prompted.
    7. Now connect your phone to the PC. Driver installation should complete and PC/Ovi suite (hopefully) should detect your mobile properly now.

  • E71 + Ovi Suite: internet connection through the P...

    Hi.
I'm having trouble finding an answer to the following question, because everyone seems to want the opposite.
How do I let my E71, connected with a data cable to a Win XP SP2 PC, use the PC's internet (LAN) connection to reach internet?
Background: I do not have/want a data subscription. Most of the time I'm either at home where I have Wifi, or at the office where we have a 1 Gbps internet connection, but no WiFi. I'd like to use the office's connection, e.g. to download content and software ugrades.
I believe this used to work flawlessly with PC Suite, and the OS on the PC hasn't changed since, so it must be something in Ovi Suite that's in the way...
    Any ideas? Cheers.

    I can answer you partially:
1.I think y can use phone as a modem to connect to the internet.
Make sure y have latest pc suit.
When yr phone connected via usb cable ,open yr pc suit and select connect.
Under connect you should first go to settings and select yr network provider listed on it.
If yr N P is listed there y can be able to to connect to internet usin' yr phone as a modem.
But it cuts bill too much.
