N8 & Shure Music+ Mobile Phone Adapter

Note: Nokia needs to listen-up. Unable to send this mail to Nokia customer care in India through the web form(http://www.nokia.co.in/support/ask-nokia#) as it keeps throwing up a webform.js error. I tried calling up the customer care to ask if they have direct email ID to send the same but nothing came out of it. Obviously I cannot communicate this message over the phone- can I? This is sort of OT but not exactly. If someone from Nokia is reading this, please look into it.
Recently I have purchased a Nokia N8 smart phone and I am trying to pair it up with the following shure headphone  & Music + Mobile Phone Adaptor MPA-3C combination.
Shure SE-210:
Shure MPA-3C:
Following is the problem:
Shure SE210 Headphones -> Shure Music + Mobile Adapter MPA3-C -> Nokia N8.
See below for connection & electrical details of the Shure Music + Mobile Adaptor's 3.5mm jack:
http://shure.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3803
I am unable to get this combination to work reliably either for stereo music listening or for phone conversation.
Following are the observations:
1. When headphones SE210 is directly connected to the phone(removing Music+ Mobile Adaptor)- the volume levels on speaker and clarity are good.
2. When the shure SE210 headphones is connected to the N8 through the Shure Music + Mobile Phone Adaptor MPA-3c, the music has static disturbances and phone conversation is shallow and noisy. When the control button(used for receiving and disconnecting calls) in MPA-3C adaptor is pressed the voice through the headphones seems much brighter and clearer but the person on the other end of the line is unable to hear me clearly.
3. When the MPA-3c is connected to the Nokia N8 there is are two clicks before the jack is fully locked in to the 3.5mm plug. At first lock the speaker(songs) are clear but voice(mic) is poor but when the jack is fully pressed in both the speaker(songs) and the voice(mic) quality is poor.
The shure (excellent)support has conveyed the following:
It sounds like there is a differentiation in the spacing of the contact rings on the MPA-3C and the contact rings inside the phone. I am attaching the wiring documentation for the MPA-3C.
You may have to contact Nokia about their jack. We have never tried the MPA-3C with that phone.
Please let me know how to make the Shure combination work with  Nokia N-8
Thanks.

I have exactly the same problem with my marshall earphones:
/t5/Nseries-and-S60-Smartphones/Marshall-minor-earphones-remote-not-working/td-p/892075
I tried them on my HTC desire and the button work, so I don't think it's a hardware problem with different pins size. I'm really disappointed as I use the N8 as my main music player

  • Shure Music Phone adapter for iPhone

Is it just me, or is the Sure Music Phone adapter for iPhone not compatible with the iPhone 3G? I can't seem to get mine to go into the headset jack on the phone itself. It won't fully seat. It seems like it'll go halfway in and then get jammed. I know it's not a defective adapter because it worked with my original iPhone and still does (old one was given to my sister).
Any input/knowledge of this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Here is a link to the adapter for those who aren't quite sure what I'm talking about.

because the standard white headbuds suck more than a dyson vacuum cleaner when it come to any audiophile standards.
i have a set of shure E2C headsets that lock out noise from the outside.
i picked up a set of philips adapter from a local TARGET store that costs less than ten bucks...
look in their ipod section. it has the same smallish plug so it fits my 3G with no issues.
only problem is that my E2C comes with such a long cord that with the philips adapter, i have like cords all over the place...

  • Mobile phone Can't connect to the Notebook Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter

    1. Create Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter
              1.1 netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=NETWORK key=password keyUsage=persistent
              1.2. netsh wlan start hostednetwork
    2. Connect Network Sharing--open
    3. phone using wifi to connect the network
can't connect ,wha's wrong? notebook can surf through Ethernet connection.
If i set a static ip in the mobile phone which is the same net section like the Microsoft Virtual WiFi network, DNS:8.8.8.8 . Then can connected, but can't surf, anybody can give me some helps?
      Ethernet connection:
    1. ADSL dail mode
    2. Static IP is setted
    3. DNS is setted

    Hi midource,
Please update your wireless network adapter driver for good measure.
Check your phone connection properties see if it could get IP address from your computer properly.
Static IP doesn’t mean your phone has connected to network, if you set static IP the connection will show connected but without internet.
This issue could be caused by incompatible hardware with Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter hotspot, especially on some android devices.
But we still could do some configuration changing and give it a try.
Check properties of your adapter Ethernet connection->sharing, check “Allow other network to connect through…” and “Allow other network users to control…”
Tight click Ethernet connection-> properties->Advanced (advanced settings might be different depends on WIFI adapter manufacturer)
    Disable 802.11n mode
Disable 40 Mhz Bandwidth Compatibility Mode
Run Netsh command you mentioned above as administrator.
    Disable firewall temporarily.
Check your issue again after re-enable your Virtual Wifi Miniport connection.
    If the issue still persists
Please try other devices on your Windows 8.1 Virtual WIFI Miniport Adapter hotspot. If they works check compatibility issue with your phone manufacturer or set a router for network sharing.

  • Export music from itunes to card reader for voyager mobile phone

i just bought a voyager mobile phone from verizon. was told to export music from itunes onto a memory card. but the card reader doesnt show when i open itunes. how can i export music into my voyager phone from itunes? can i do it directly or do i need a card reader? if so,how do i it?

Only the iPod range and the iTunes enabled phones from Motorola are compatible with iTunes for Windows and with songs from the iTunes Music Store. If you have any standard iTunes songs that are DRM (Digital Rights Management) copy protected you won't be able to use them on a Non Apple device. Is the Phone or the Memory card showing as a mounted device on your desktop? Access the phone/card through Finder then drag and from what you wanted onto it from your iTunes Music folder.

  • 320PPI  5cm x 5cm ,  and the mobile app that this image appear runs on a mobile phone of 200ppi disp

IF I DO AN IMAGE in FW or PS of 320PPI  5cm x 5cm ,  and the mobile app that this image appear runs on a mobile phone of 200ppi display resolution, then resolution seem of image should be 200ppi ... in other words should adapt automatically????

Only if you were to measure the physical dimentions. (Using physical dimentions and changing the ppi would add or remove pixels)
    inches X ppi = pixels
A 1200 x 1600 pixel image will be the same on all devices that share that ratio, the ppi difference comes into play when the phyical size of the screen is changed.
Technically the quality never changed only the zoom changed.
When designing a screen at 1200x1600 (example) That image will fit on any screen that has that spec.
The ratio plays a role when only 1 of the 2 pixel dimentions changes (width or the height).
On larger screens, the ppi is lower to equal the same number of pixels. So when a device can support a higher resolution, the ppi is increased on the same size screen.
Knowing that, having the specs of the device will tell you the maximum number of pixels that screen can display.
Therefore, when designing a screen, always start with the largest resolution (pixel dimmentions) first, then downsample to the next size screen and so on.
The reason is simple, it is easier to remove pixels, then it is to add them later, as photoshop or any other software does not know what should be there.
BTW, this is also the reason why you can change the pixel dimentions in the save for web dialog box and not the physical size or ppi. To make it easy to reduce the pixel dimentions.

The M305-S4910 does not have Bluetooth hardware, so that's why the laptop is 'freezing'.  Toshiba sells a USB adapter:

  • IMac G5 & mobile phone

    Hi,
Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here goes. I'm about to buy a new mobile 'phone after losing one months ago. My only requirement is that it plays real tones/MP3 tones. It didn't even occur to me that some or all phones wouldn't be Mac compatible (how naive).
Anyway, I've pretty much decided on a Sony Ericsson Z530i, so does anyone know if this is going to work with my Mac? From my limited research it seems I can probably use iSync to transfer contacts etc, but what (if anything) can I use to get music files onto the 'phone?
Here's hoping someone has some suggestions.

By choosing a Sony Ericsson phone you're getting probably the best brand of phone to work with the Mac.
The Z530 will sync up just fine. And you can transfer files to and from the phone via Bluetooth or USB cable.
If plugged in via USB the phones internal memory and memory stick storage will appear on the desktop as drives to which you can drag and drop MP3s, M4A (iTunes) etc.
You can see a list of iSync supported Sony Ericsson phones on my site here - this list also includes phones supported by my iSync PhonePlugins too.

  • Mobile Phones can only Sync with one Library?

Sup all. My current mobile phone is Rokr E1 (the first phone with iTunes), hence I'm exposed to iTunes. The problem lies here. I had this library full of songs. However, recently I changed my com and accidentally lose everything(songs, pictures, videos,etc.). After getting my new com, I downloaded back iTunes and continued adding songs into my phone, but to no avail.
They tell me that a Mobile Phone can only be Sync-ed with one Library at a time, and that all my songs in my phone will be replaced by the songs in my new library (which there is none) if i adhered to it. In other words, I cant add new songs into my Phone without my old Library, but I lost my old Library. Any Ideas how to continue adding songs into my Phone? Thanks. Great Helps Appreciated. =)

Your iPod can only be synced with one computer at a time.  If you try to sync it with a new computer/iTunes library, it will replace the contents of the iPod with whatever is in the new library.  If all the content that is on your iPod is in iTunes, there shouldn't be a problem. Just go ahead and sync your iPod
Otherwise, you are probably wanting to copy everything from your iPod back to your PC first. If that is the case, you should probably disable the autosync functionality first by going to Edit -> Preferences, clicking the Devices tab, and enabilng the prevent iPods,iPhones, and iPads from automatically syncing option.
Before doing anything else,  authorize the new computer with your iTunes Account.  In iTunes, choose Store -> Authorize This Computer and enter in the correct credentials. Either copy a backup file from your old computer to your new one or create a new backup of your iPod in iTunes before letting it sync.
Then right->click on your iPod Touch from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes and choose Backup. You might also want to take a look at this article to see what it all included in the backup.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
Now onto synced content such as music, videos, photos, etc.  For iTunes purchases you can copy them back into iTunes by choosing File -> Transfer Purchases.  For all other nonpurchased iTunes content, see this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering different software availbable to assist you with this task.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2452022?start=0&tstart=0
Once the backup has been made and all other synced content such as music, videos, and photos are back in your iTunes library, restore your iPod from that backup you made earlier.  Here is more on backing up and restoring your iPod.

  • MP4 files from mobile phones

    Hi -
I just copied some MP4 videos from my mobile phone on to my iMac using a USB adapter to take the videos from a Micro SD card. However I can't get them to play properly. They will open in Quicktime and VLC but there's no sound. Does anyone know why this is or how I can fix it? They work fine on my mobile phone, I can hear sound so I know it's in there somewhere. Any help much appreciated.
    Thanks.

How do I get info while it's playing in QT?
Open the "Inspector" window and check the information on the "Format:" line. This should refer to the audio and video compression formats used in the file.

  • Mobile phone pics?

    hello all,
would simply like to ask people's advice reg. which mobile phones work easy with Macs?
can't find much on their respective sites about Mac compatibility -
how easy or otherwise to import photos for instance, and what software is needed from the mobile's side?
    thanks

I have used numerous phones with my Macs over the years that have Bluetooth.
I have sent music from my iTunes to my phone and I have edited songs in Garageband to use a my ring tone.
As long as you have Bluetooth on your phone, it should send your media content over to your Mac and vise versa.
    Oh...
    and I also used a Sony S710a
Here are some pics of the phones that I have used if that helps:
    Nokia 3650:
    Nokia 6682:
    Motorola Razr:
    Blackberry Pearl:
    Samsung SGH-d807:
Sorry if I upset anyone for the pictures.
The quailty of the photos for each phone have been great, at least for a phone. That is what I really look for when I get a phone and all of these have done the job!

  • Can itunes be moved to an LG mobile phone?

Is there any way to move a few songs from itunes, over to an LG mobile phone and how?

It depends on the formats your LG will accept. You would use whatever procedure your phone provides for loading music onto it. A web site dedicated to issues with LG phones will probably be a better resource for getting help with this issue, since iTunes will not be involved.
    Regards.

  • Basic mobile phone features missing

I miss on my iPhone the following basic features you find almost on many other mobile phones from other manufacturers:
    - ability to send/receive complete contact list or members of my contact list to other phones via SMS or Bluetooth
    - ability to send/receive calendar appointments via Bluetooth or SMS
    - Bluetooth file transfer
    - video recording
    - send notes via SMS or Bluetooth
    - real Bluetooth support when it comes to the communication with an advanced car kit (transfer of the agenda, antenna and battery indicator, permanent contact with the car kit)
    - add new ringtones (not only via iTunes)
    - create ringtones from own music (and not only from the one purchased via iTunes)
Will we ever see such features on the iPhone? If yes, when?

I'm pretty sure there's a workaround that allows you to make ringtones from any audio file, (of the right length and format), it's not that longwinded either. Involves using garageband.
There is also an app that'll do it for you.
If I remember what it is I'll post back.
