  • Navigation/BBM/Social network/ problem - How to contact BB ?

    Hey everyone,
I have a BB curve 3G bought in France, but unlocked by my telephone operator there.
I moved to Canada and get a internet cell phone plan (with Fido) but it seems that it doesn't work here... :-( I can call, send text message, but navigating, BBM or social networking don't work.
They told me my french phone doesn't  "take care" the Fido network...
Anyways, they asked me to contact blackberry for a reboot or something like that.
The thing is I can't find a phone number or an email adress to contact technical support !
If anyone experienced the same problem than I or knows how to contact BB, please let me know !
    Thanks for your help !

Hello and Welcome to the Forums!
Front line support for BB's is, by contract, not provided by RIM. The carriers and authorized resellers are responsible for front line formal support to end users. It is possible to bypass your carrier and seek assistance direct from RIM, but such involves fees since you are bypassing your support agreement with your carrier. The "Support and Services" tab toward the top of these forum pages provide information about that. But, if you do go through your carrier for support, they can escalate into RIM at no fee to you if they so choose to.
What you are attempting is actually a rather complicated thing. But, if you desire to ask other users for specific assistance about how to get the most use out of your BB, then this forum would indeed be the correct place for that.
    Good luck!

  • "Software update can't check for updates because of a network problem" - help!

Recently, when I perform a software update check on the pulldown Apple menu, I get this error:
"Software update can't check for updates because of a network problem."
The only problem is that my network works just fine. I use the internet and get emails without any problem. But I can't figure how I can fix Software Update.
The only relevant updates have been for Glims and 1Password. Oh, and note the same problem trying to access the App Store; I just get a "Can't connect to the App Store" error.
    Any hints?

I have to solve all my own problems.
The problem was due to Little Snitch. Once I upgraded from 2.4.0 to 2.4.2, my system works swimmingly again.
    FIXED!

  • The common Safari network problem - help!

    Hello
I've been involved in a couple of other posts on this topic, but thought it would be easier to pull out my problem into a topic of its own, as it's still unresolved.
The problem is a familiar one I think.
It would be great to have some help and advice as it's driving me nuts!
    Here's the symtoms:
Safari takes an age to load pages and often gets stuck trying.
Tellingly, my airtunes stops and starts when I'm playing music over the network to my stereo.
I've got a MacBook running 10.4.8 with AirTunes.
So far, I've tried the following:
    - Made sure software is up to date
    - Emptied cache
    - Ran Firefox which is just as slow
    - Repaired permissions using Disk Utility
    - Changeed my primary cabel protocol (airport) to be first on the list and deslected others
    - Removed any superflous wi-fi locations I don't use
    - In the TCP panel>DNS servers, entered 4.2.2.2
Can anyone think of anything else to try?
I read something about 10.4.8 having a few network issues, so someone suggested redoing the update, but I'm not sure I understood what they meant about doing things with permissions before and afterwards?
    Can anybody help?!
    Many thanks in advance peeps.......

Just reporting back on the weekend's testing.
I ran the Hardware test, but it detected no problems.
I also changed my network settings to Manual with fixed IP - but it hasn't made any difference at all.
So I can rule out my netgear router/modem, airport airtunes, safari and my isp (I have exactly the same problems on other wireless networks and also using firefox) and now I suppose my mac's hardware.
    Does that just leave
    1. the configuration of my network and
    2. OSX 10.4.8
    then?
Maybe I should just wait for Leopard?!
Do you think it would still be worth trying it out using an Ethernet connection rather than wireless?
If so, would you be able to give me a step-by-step guide, as I find the Network prefs very confusing.
Thank you so much for all your help so far, I'm very grateful - I think this is my longest running Mac problem to date....

  • Home Networking Problem - Help!

I'm to network my Windows Vista Laptop and my Macbook over my home network but I'm having trouble.
I've gone through the steps (i.e. turned windows sharing on Macbook etc...). I've tried connecting from the vista laptop and vice versa.
When I go to network on the Vista my Macbook shows up on the network. I click on it and I'm asked for my username and password. When I type them in I'm told there incorrect. I've check - there correct.
When I try to connect from the Macbook I'm told the location doesn't exist or may not be operational.
Any suggestions on how I can the connection up and running??
    Cheers!

When you are connecting to the MacBook from the Vista computer and are typing in a username and password, are you using a username and password of one of the accounts on the MacBook? If you try to use a user account that exists only on the Vista machine, the MacBook won't know who you are.
    Best of luck.

  • Social network / domain access problems

I have had a problem loggin on to my yahoo messenger and other social networking application ever since my upgrade to leopard v.10.6.8. It was reported to me on other discussion sites that some networks have had issues with several newer versions of Mac OS...
To explain my problems further... when I try logging onto Yahoo for instance.. It goes on to log and the waiting icon just keeps rolling forever.
Some sites I try to view thrue either Chrome or Safari, I get this error message : Safari can't open the page "http//.whateverthedomainname.com, because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes occurs when the server is busy. Wait for a few minutes and try again.
Now this message has been coming in from several internet pages and has been going on for several days. So its obviously not a domain problem.
I have tried re-installing my applications, emptied cache, resetted safari, and so far nothing.
    Thank you for your input.

ok ... I was hoping to edit my post..couldn't find how...
    This is the stragest thing...
One of the networking application I can not use is Secondlife...using either Phoenix or V2. And the strangest thing...if I enter any sort of search onto google that includes "secondlife" in it...I can not access it!!!!!
Now this is out of my league...help please...

  • Problems with mail, messags, and social network accounts

    Hi,
first of all, sorry for my bad English.
I would like to know if there is a maximum limit of accounts (email, social network, etc. etc.) that OS10 can handle.
On my Passport (OS10 Version 10.3.0.675) I have the following:
    - 1 BBM
    - 1 WhatsApp
    - 1 Facebook
    - 12 Mail
Now, when I try to insert another account (for example mail or Twitter), I recived the following error message:
"The maxximum accounts has been reached".
    Is that right?
With the Z10 and the Q10, if I remember correctly, I did not have this problem.
I need to add more email accounts, someone can help me?
    Thank you all.
    I'M NOT LAZY,
    I JUST DON'T GIVE NOTHING!

Let me see what I can find out and I'll get back to you when I know more! Thanks

  • I try signing into iMessage and it takes about 45-50 seconds to do. When that happens it tells me there is a network problem. I am positive I don't have a network problem and I need help on this problem please??

I try to sign in and it just takes forever to do I try and try and do it over and over and it brings me the same results. Created a new Apple ID and when I did it still tells me there is a network problem. But the thing is I am still able to use the Internet I need help?? And it does the exact same thing for FaceTime so I don't know what to do??

Error -3259 is a network timeout error, usually. This article might help:

My daughter has just bought me an iPad 2 from Dubai and set it all up for me but unfortunately the iMessage function doesn't seem to work. We keep getting messages, when trying to activate it, that there is a network connection problem - help!

Thank you both for your responses but my daughter was reassured by the salesman in the iStyle store (official Apple store in the UAE) that iMessages would work but conceded that FaceTime wouldn't. My iTunes account is registered in the uk and my daughter's iPhone has iMessages even though she bought it (and uses it) in Dubai. Can anyone else throw any light on this?

I have n iphone 4 with a talkmobile contract sim. I cannot send or receive msm. I have spoken to talkmobile customer service, my phone settings are correct,Aple say it 8is a network problem!! Help!!

talkmobile is not a supported carrier. It's very likely that you have the same problem suffered by people who attempt to use T-Mobile in the U.S. MMS simply will NOT work because the network is not compatible with the iPhone. If you want full functionality, you will have to switch to a supported carrier.

  • Help troubleshooting networking problem...

I apologize for calling this a "networking problem," I just don't know how to title it...
Basically, I'm looking for help tracking down an odd problem on my MacBook. It mostly manifests as incomplete web requests.
    I'll try to explain.
I'll go to a website, which starts a browser downloading images and what not. Most times, I never get the entire web page. For instance, on this very page, the bottom of the browser (Firefox) says, "Waiting for images.apple.com" and the circle is spinning at the top. This unresolved request, whatever it is, is unlikely to complete.
    Here's what I've tried:
    1. Updating my wireless router. (Netgear G. I honestly don't notice this problem on other systems in my office, though.)
    2. Changing web browsers. (It affects others, too.)
    3. Creating Mozilla profiles.
    4. Surfing in different Mac accounts.
    5. Clearning browser caches/cookies/etc.
    6. Turned on/off interference robustness on the AE.
I'm not looking for a solution (unless you have one). I am looking for some new ideas on troubleshooting the problem.
What's most annoying is that the problem is GASP intermittent. I may do one of the above things, for instance, and it seems like the problem goes away, but it comes back eventually. And it also eventually leaves for a period of time if I do nothing.
It feels like a networking issue, something outside the Mac -- wireless interference or something, but ... I just don't know.
    Thanks.

I should have mentioned that I tried that.
There are a couple of APs in the neighborhood, one is a Belkin Pre-N with Airgo's chipset. The only reason I mention the Belkin is that there have been some news reports that suggest Airgo's wireless management degrades regular B/G wireless devices in the area. I don't know how true that is.
Anyway, it seems like I've solved it.
I surfed wired for about two days and was able to determine that the problem was related to wireless communication. Now, whether it was my Airport Extreme or my Access Point...
My Access Point was one that was given to me by a customer. She didn't need it any longer. It was used and I didn't really know how it performed. I can say that one of the things I did before all these problems started to take place was install that AP.
I replaced the AP this weekend. I decided I would just try a new one.
That seems to have fixed it. I do get the occasional hangup. (I do an awful lot of surfing.) Mostly I see the hangups now on pages that have an abnormally high amount of connections to external sources. An example of this is the dynamically generated Newsgator RSS feed page. This page goes out to all manner of websites to grab images and what not and I sometimes see hangups there, but that's about it.
This is good news. I was worried my Airport Extreme was to blame. But, you know, even my wife's laptop (PC) is performing better wirelessly. There was a problem in that Access Point. I had updated the firmware just the week previous to see if that would fix the problems I experienced, but no...
Anyway, I kind of needed to talk this out. I appreciate your help!

  • I logged in social networking site but i didnot saved password, now i forget that.i need it.i am using lastest firefox version. how can i recover that? pls help

i used social networking site once.when i logged in i didnot save my password. i could not find it in firefox. so, please help me out to recover that.

If you have clicked "Never" the first time you visited the site then Firefox has created an exception and you need to remove that exception if you want Firefox to store the password.

  • 3gs no service after updating to ios 5 tried network reset, reset all settings and even restoring from back been with out phone for 3 weeks now need help telus cant find network problem and apple has bad customer support please help!!!

my 3gs has no service after updating from ios 5 tried resetting network settings, resetting all settings and restoring from back up on itunes.
telus cant find any network problems and apple is difficult to deal with.please help 3 weeks with no phone and $70 a month not happy.

I have been having a similar problem for the last few days.Without warning the signal will just completely duck out leaving the device searching for several minutes before settling on a no signal message.
Sometimes restarting the device, toggling data and 3g settings or toggling Airplane Mode will set things right. However, a lot of the time I've been left without a working phone.
I don't believe this is a SIM issue, as I had to change my SIM only one month ago for another signal related problem. Again any help would be appreciated here as well.
