Hi, i don't have the N8, but it could sound like the N8 could have some problems adapting to the correct colourtemps (Kelvin or Celvin). Normal daylight is about 5000 kelvin which most cameras are set for. if you take a picture out side in normal sun light, the light will be reproduced right.
If you take a picture with the same settings in indoor light, where lights come from lamps and such, the light will be more yellowish. Taking picture of light from lampposts outside without flash would in many cases give a green light on the picture. For instance, If you take a picture in light of a flash light you would usually get a slight colour change in the picture. A flashlight holds ca 3500 kelvin (depends of cours on various things).
There are many cameras which has settings for different light conditions. F.eks a lot of cameras has modes like: Fluorescent, inndoor normal etc. I 'dont know if the N8 has it, but it might be worth looking at.
How does the camera on the n8 perform outside in sunlight?
What you could try also, if you havent done it yet, is to take the picture with flash, and without flash to see if there is any difference. The flash however, might "kill" the light of the heat element.
If ISO is possible to change, try setting a lower ISO value, as the film or in this case the little chip gets twice more sensitive to light with doubleing the ISO.

Lightning is a problem for you because it hooks into Thunderbird at a low level and you need a version compiled for the platform Thunderbird is running on. So you can't do the preferred solution, which is to put your whole profile in a shared folder and have both instances of Thunderbird reference the same profile. (Ditto for Enigmail). Lightning may become an integral part of Thunderbird in an upcoming release, at which point this limitation due to Lightning should disappear.
And if you can't use a shared profile, you can't set your Lightning, or your Address Book, to share a common set of files. Put another way, the linkage from Thunderbird to its address book files and calendar data is hard-coded, and not exposed where we can adjust it. :-(
The halfway house is to place your mail stores in a shared place, and use the Local Directory setting in each account's settings to connect to it. They don't need to be in the profile; what's more important in your case is that they are in a folder accessible to both operating systems.
Look in your profile; everything under Mail and ImapMail needs to be moved out to a shared folder. Note the entries in Thunderbird under Local Directory before you do this, and reconstruct those pathnames in Thunderbird, but adjusted to suit their new locations.
(You can see here that you need to make many adjustments, one per account, in each instance of Thunderbird, so it's a high-maintenance solution and this is why we don't recommend it when the alternative, moving the whole profile, is possible.)
I share address books and calendars between Thunderbirds on various computers (and my phone and tablet) by syncing to something in the cloud; Google Contacts and Google Calendar are my choices, using gContactSync and CalDav.
Having made the break myself some years ago, I'd recommend you break away from Windows. ;-)

  • Hello, i'm trying to email pictures from my photoshop elements 11 organizer and once i submit, i dont get the pics i n my inbox...

hello, i'm trying to email pictures from my photoshop elements 11 organizer, however once i submit for the pictures to send, the person is not receiving them?  any guidance?
    thanks,
    Rob

    Hi,
Which operating system are you running on?
In the organizer, go to the Edit menu and select Preferences -> Sharing. Which email client are you using - Adobe Email Client?
What type of file are you trying to send - JPG, raw?
What is the size of the file?
An alternative way to share files would be to use something like Dropbox. You can upload the file to a dropbox and then give the other person the link so they can download it.

  • When taking pictures with my iPhone 4S with flash the pictures are blue

When taking pictures with my iPhone 4S and when I use the flash the pictures come out blue but wen I don't use the flash the pictures come out great. Can someone please answer my question to why that is happening

Do you have a case on your phone? Many cases get a reflection from the sides and bleed light over the picture.
The flash is naturally green/blue colour anyway..so it could be just that.

freezing/hanging when taking pictures and videos  in i phone 4 with flash on.

    Hi Mister.
Let's try to answer your questions.
    - The E5 does not have a red light when you take pictures.
    - I don't know about battery life comparing with E6 and E72, just can say on the E5 is quite good. It has a 1200 mAh battery, you should check the others, but also the features of each one, i.e. the E6 is a touchscreen one, so it consumes more power.
    - It has a notification white light, around the navigation button.
    Regards.

  • Iphone V1 taking picture in red

The camera of my iphone is taking pictures in red/purple.
Even before shooting picture just when I run the camera the camera is showing everything as if a there's an effect over it (same thing for token picture.)
all other applications are working vey well.
My Iphone is V1(US), upgraded to firmware 2.0 recently.
Does any one knows how to resolve this?

I don't know that there are any good solutions but this has been asked before. You can do a forum search and see if you find anything helpful. Here is one thread on the matter:

Also, the newest software is 2.0.2. It may be a good idea to update.

  • Error on Micro SD While taking picture. Micro SD Undetected.

Hello this is my first time using a Micro SD, my last phone was Xperia S. While I was taking picture I got an error, my phone does not detect my Micro SD and also my Laptop can't detect it. It's a 32GIG Transcender. My phone is fine but no more Micro SD.
Anyone knows what to do and how to fix an undetected Micro SD? This is my first time using a Micro SD.
    Thanks!

I am currently testing the **bleep** out of a 16GB Sony UHS1 40MB/s.
The results are very promising. Heavy file transfers, deleting and recopying. Switching between media (like playing music, then going to movie app and switching straight to movie from SD card while music is playing from SD card). And so far no corruption.
Unfortunately it doesnt rule out 64GB SD problems, but it might. 16GB could be more rugged - perhaps the internals are thicker?? They certainly come much cheaper.
Maybe top end cards only will work without fault.
Not really wanting to spend $100 on an SD card, but I think it could be a solution.
I have seen many stories of top end cards getting roasted, but if mine works, then it works with a high end Sony SD Card.

  • Power control switch for 115VAC wall outlet to operate resistance heating element.

I am very new to LabView software as well as hardware
interfacing, so don't presume that I know anything.  My problem seems
simple, I want to be able to control and automate via LabView software a resistance
heating element that can plug into a standard 115VAC wall outlet.  I
searched through the Knowledge Base and found this comment:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/855AF9CBDAACE3018625725A00638653
The PXI 2564 seemed ideal but I have no clue how to connect the serial port to
my heating element, or even if this is enough current (5A, do heating elements
need a certain wattage?)  I had originally envisioned a simple surge
protector like device that had computer control options.  Many devices
like this are available, however all the ones I have found are web-accessed via IP address
and I am unsure how to interface this type of device with LabView if it has its
own GUI.  Obviously I have no idea what I am doing here so any help would
be much appreciated.  The heating element requires 115VAC or DC it does
not matter, and all I need to do is turn the power on and off, no variance is
required, although that could be very useful.  I have implemented a NI
CompactDAQ for other control and measurement (24VDC Digital I/O and Thermocouple) if this
could somehow play into my solution, but I believe the limits on voltage for
this device are much lower.  Thanks!

    Hi Anfu,
LabVIEW gives you the power to control and automate all National Instruments hardware using NI drivers (i.e. NI-DAQmx).  I have a couple of NI hardware suggestions, but it's up to you to decide on the hardware that will best fit your application.  Even if you end up using third-party hardware, I think you will find LabVIEW is a great interface to control and/or automate your hardware.
The resistance heating element you want to control...you state it is powered via wall voltage, but you did not state the required current.  This is important information you should be able to find in the heating element's data sheet.  The amount of current you need at 115 VAC (or DC) will determine your desired relay characteristics.  Once you know the voltage and current (or power) the heating element requires, you can calculate the hardware specifications that are necessary for your application - and can confidently select the correct hardware.
Starting from the fact you need to switch wall voltage, you will want a switch rated for Measurement Category II (CAT II).  This classification ensures you will be kept safe from the high voltages being switched.  National Instruments has PXI hardware that can switch wall voltages, as you mentioned previously, and one of these switches is the PXI-2564.  Your computer would communicate with the PXI-2564 through its PCI bus, not its serial port.  Several methods to connect your PCI bus to PXI is to purchase a MXI-4 card (this would fit in one of your computer's PCI slots) that cables to a PXI chassis (in which the PXI-2564 is located).  Also, you can purchase an embedded PXI controller (then you wouldn't need a separate computer, as the embedded PXI controller houses a laptop-like computer).  In total, you would need a PXI-2564, a PXI chassis, and either a MXI-4 or embedded PXI controller.
If PXI doesn't seem ideal, instead you could create a Plug-and-Play (PnP) SCXI system!  First, choose a SCXI switch module (such as a SCXI-1127).  Then, you can purchase a USB-1357 to control the SCXI-1127 module from one of your computer's USB slots.  In total, you would need a SCXI-1127 module, a 4-slot SCXI chassis, and a USB-1357.
Another option is the SCXI-1161.  Unfortunately, the USB-1357 doesn't connect to the rear of the SCXI-1161, but there is there are two additional options available for controlling the SCXI-1161.  One is to purchase a PCI DAQ module (or use one if you already have one) and connect it to the SCXI-1161 using the SCXI-1349.  The other is to purchase a SCXI-1600 (which is a DAQ board, SCXI form factor) that you control via USB.  In total, you would need a SCXI-1161, a 4-slot SCXI chassis, and a SCXI-1600 or a DAQ board and a SCXI-1349.
Either way, the PXI and SCXI options both give you the full functionality of a modular, LabVIEW-controlled switch.  Upon purchasing the switch module, you also get the required drivers, getting-started and troubleshooting tools (such as the NI-SWITCH Soft Front Panel), and examples to get you up and running quickly.
In reference to the simple surge protector like device that has computer control options - I'm sure someone from the LabVIEW forum could assist you in communicating to one of these devices via the web.  Don't worry, if the device can be controlled via the web, you're good to go.
Lastly, in response to your final statements, it is important to find out how much current or power the heating element requires because that will directly determine your required switch hardware specifications.  You mention no variance is required, which is good, because the switch will simply turn on or off the power to the heating element.  I agree a NI CompactDAQ option could be very useful for an application such as this, however there are no CAT II relay or switch modules for this form factor at this time.
    Hope this helps!

  • Purple vertical stripes while taking pictures

    Hello
I noticed my Iphone 5 (bought online from apple not that long ago) has problems (more and more frequently) with vertical striping when taking pictures, especially in "panorama mode".
Annoying enough , but when they go purple its horrible.
Its not been dropped, scraped or anything similar, nor exposed to humid conditions.
    Anyone have any ideas?
I tried to upload the image on the forum, but didnt seem to work (chrome), couldnt get upload box.
    http://bildr.no/view/1422776
Its not always, and its not the same part of the screen, just seems random, but also more and more frequent.
    Regards
    Thomas

Unfortunately, I think you're right. You're looking at a serious hardware issue--the LCD display cable being damaged, the LCD itself being damaged or possibly the graphics chipset on the logic board failing. You're going to have to bring/send the machine in for repair.
