N8 Tv (rca) output

Hello .
I´m trying to connect my N8 to my Tv (LG Scarlett 2) via an N95 Tv-out cable and i have "no signal" on the tv sreen...the N8 shows the tv icon and a message pops up when i plug the jack but nothing else....With my N95 works fine.
¿Any ideas?
Thank you

Well, I´ve playing with another cable but still no luck:
the original nokia cable activate the tv out on the phone, but no image on tv
the other cable refuses to activate the tv out (set N8 to audio options and i can´t  chang it)... A couple of times (don´t know how) the tv mode is activated but i have to move up-down the jack until i get image on screen.
A closer look show me that the jack of the earphones and the two others are not equal and, even, i think they are more thinner because when i plug it, is more easy and i have not a "click" at the end.
I´m very frustrated because i don´t know if the Tv output is broke or not

Does the RCA OUTPUT on the CDX-GT56UI Car Stereo have both Sub and PRE-OUT? if so how do I switch to PRE-OUT?

    Hello Richard,
The unit has 2-channel Preamp Outputs  on the rear of the receiver, used for connecting external amps. This unit doesn't have Sub Preamp Outputs.
The rear preamp outputs can be set in the menu to output a full range signal to the rear channels, or a filtered signal to a subwoofer. When set to subwoofer, the output typically has a selectable low-pass filter and is non-fading. You can change the rear preamp outputs by selecting REAR/SUB option under Setup menu of the unit.

  • Does Front Panel Audio Work When Using RCA Outputs from the X-Fi Titanium HD PCIe Sound Card?

I see that the rear panel headphone output is disabled when the soundcard RCA jacks are used.
But is it possible to have the front panel audio output work at the same time that the RCA jacks are in use or is it also disabled?
I am willing to tolerate inferior quality audio feeding my monitor and use the RCA jacks for my headphone amp.

I was able to construct a work around for this problem. A Y splitter from the RCA outputs is an option but can degrade the sound because of the uneven load presented to the soundcard.
Ten eleven inch Apevia CVTAUDIOE25 HD Audio extension cables were connected together in series to a SilverStone FP32 3.5 audio front panel bay. The extension cables were connected to the front panel audio connectors on the Titanium HD sound card and then the cables were run out of the computer case and up to the area near my keyboard. I connected the front panel audio bay to the extension cable and the bay sits next to the keyboard. When no 3.5 mm stereo cable is connected to the front bay near the keyboard the sound is normal out of the rear outputs. But when a 3.5 mm audio cable is plugged into the front panel bay audio there is sound out of the SilverStone front panel bay. The sound is still muted out of the rear RCA jacks when the plug is put in the front bay but it is only used when the main audio outputs are not required.
The function for me is that the front bay serves the same purpose that the previous front panel 3.5 mm audio extension cable did.
There are photos of this under a different user name on Audio Asylum PC Audio.

  • DVI to Video Adapter: Using S-video vs. RCA output to TV

I just purchased a DVI to Video Adapter for my MacBook Pro 15". I'd like to display iPhoto slide shows on my TV. Will there be a difference in picture quality on the TV if I output from the Mac (thru the DVI to Video Adapter) using an RCA cable versus an S-video cable?

S-Video is the better of the two interfaces. Neither is very good when compared with a computer screen, which will have much higher resolution. I doubt you will notice much difference between S-Video and RCA Video but if you have the choice you might as well go S-Video.

  • N8 RCA output, No Video!

    Hi!
I wanted to see some videos on my TV, so I tried to use a 3.5mm Jack - RCA cable I had at home.
I set the TV out option as default, left the default TV settings (Normal size, PAL code, and Unactive filter) and plugged the cable.
On a CRT TV I see a stream of blinking white stripes and no audio.
On a LCD TV I get the "no signal" message all the way, and audio works fine.
    Am I doing something wrong?
(The cable is not a Nokia cable, but as far as I know those cables are all the same, isn't it?)

Okay, it was my cable architecture that was kinda stupid, trying to play a stereo song, I figured out that the 2 audio cables, were a mono sound duplicated... So my phone seeing only 2 channels thought that they were a stereo output. To be sure of that I plugged the yellow cable (the video one) in an audio input (red or white), and the output was a sound signal!
I went to a friend's to ask him to borrow me his CA-75U, and everything works fine!
I'm sorry for this nearly useless topic

  • Any car charger with line level dock RCA outputs?

    Hello,
My new car has RCA aux input jacks. I am looking for a car charger that will plug into a standard cigarette lighter type plug that also has the dock line level output with RCA plugs so I can keep the iPod charged and hook it up to RCA. I'm not interested in a headphone jack based RCA plug since that's not the line level out.

    Found it cheap! $28.88

  • How can I do live streaming with a Mac Book Pro 2011, using a new model of Sony HD camcorder which does not have firewire out/input? it comes only with a component video output, USB, HDMI and composite RCA output?

I need to do live streaming with a Mac Book Pro 2011, using a new model of Sony HD camcorder (http://store.sony.co...ber=HDRAX2000/H) ..this camcorder model does not have firewire out/input ..it comes only with a component video output, USB, HDMI and composite A/V video output..
I wonder how can I plug this camcorder to the firewire port of my laptop? Browsing on internet I found that Grass Valley Company produces this converter http://www.amazon.co...=A17MC6HOH9AVE6 ..but I am not sure -not even after checking the amazon reviews- if this device will send the video signal through firewire to my laptop, in order to live streaming properly? ..anyone in this forum could help me please?
    Thanx

I can't broadcast with the built in iSight webcam... how would I zoom in or zoom out? or how would I pan? I've seem people doing it walking with their laptops but that's not an option for me... there's nothing wrong with my USB ports but that's neither an option to stream video because as far as I know through USB you can't connect video in apple operating systems ..you can for sure plug any video cam or photo camera through usb but as a drive to transfer data not as a live video camera...  is by firewire an old interface developed by apple that you can connect all sorts of cameras to apple computers... unfortunately my new sony HDR-AX2000 camcorder doesn't have firewire output...

  • Dock vs. Mono to RCA Output for iPodding my car

I'm putting an interface in my car that adds RCA input so I can play my iPod, now the only thing to do is get an RCA converter cord for the iPod. I've looked around, and found that in addition to the normal mono (headphone port) to RCA converter cords, there are now iPod dock to RCA cords, for essentially the same price. Does anyone know if there is any difference in quality between the two? With the mono cord, I'd have greater flexibility, and could plug it in to things besides the iPod, but if the sound would be bad compared to the dock cord, I might go with that. Thanks!

I've looked around, and found that in addition to the normal mono (headphone port)
Uh, the headphone port is stereo, not mono.
With the mono cord, I'd have greater flexibility, and could plug it in to things besides the iPod
I wouldn't plug in anything with mono.
Why not just use the stereo RCA plugs and adapter?

  • Cinch (RCA) Output seems to be dead

    hi there
i'm a satisfied appletv user since more than a year, but i didn't use this device for about 2 months.
now my problem: i go to my screen over the HDMI port - works fine. the audio goes from the aux-ouput (rca) to my active speakers. this worked fine before, but now i can't hear anything.
the used cables and the speakers as well are okay, so the problem must come from the appleTV. if i turn up the volume to the max, i can hear very very low the music.
i did already a reset with no success. has anybody an idea?
    thanks for ur help.

well that would be a new feature that you are talking about.. and it would involve apple licensing from Dolby in order to do the conversion which would make the product more expensive, so i'm not sure that's going to happen too soon in the future.
don't shoot the messenger, i'm just describing how the device actually works, not how it should work. it's not a bug.. it's by design. basically with this device, if you plan on playing movies through equipment not capable of decoding DD 5.1 then you need to include a stereo track.. when you are playing the movie press and hold play then right click to change audio track and choose the 5.1 track (which just lists it as the language) or the stereo track.. all movies in iTunes include at least a stereo track and most now seem to include DD 5.1 tracks..

  • Ipad HDMI/RCA Output

can you use the hdmi out and add a Line-out /charge connecter to the extra dock connctor on the av connector?

The idea behind the digital adapter is that it can be connected to an HDMI TV at the same time that it is connected to its AC battery charger.

  • Can I split the output of my airport to more than one device?

I have an apple airport connected to my stereo.  This allows me to listen to my itunes library over my household stereo.  I want to hook up a second stereo, with speakers in a different room.  Can I split the RCA outputs so that it goes to a second stereo?

    bayfish,
edex67 is right that a second AirPort Express would do the trick. It would have the advantage that you could select from the Mac which stereo got the signal, and you could even drive separate signals to the two stereos should you (or your guests) have a second AirPlay source.
If you want to try the splitter idea, it would likely be cheaper than another Express, but don't buy the cheapest cable, especially for the long run to the second room. If you have the inaudibility problem that edex67 mentioned, you can try turning up the volume on the stereo(s)..

  • Connect iPod touch 2G to Reciever using RCA's? It cannot be this difficult?

    Hello!
Need to connect iPod touch 2G to my reciever using RCA's?
But +I do not want to use the headphone jack....+ (I heard I will get higher sound quality using the bottom multi-pin connector on the bottom of the touch going to a left and right RCA's) +I have uncompressed (AIFF) files on my iPod touch and want the best sound quality possible.+
I found a couple companies that make these cables with one being the Cables To Go 4-Feet RCA Stereo to Dock Connector Cable for iPod and also the Nyko Stereo Link for iPod, but from reading the reviews on Amazon neither of them will work with the Touch 2g (or the iPhone for that matter).
I am also open to a simple dock of some sort that would provide me RCA outputs. Seems as if Apples universal dock would be great but it seems to have NO RCA outputs on the back of it.
If anyone has a solution to this I would be very very happy!
+I have looked high and low for a solution for this seemingly simple task.+
All I want is a connector that goes from the bottom of the touch to 2 RCA's so I can input this into
my home stereo so I can listen to my ripped CD's in high quality. A dock would also work too! I do not need charging or anything fancy....
(already have try the Tekkeon NavDock for iPod which was cool because I could watch my videos on tv from my touch but i dont need that)
+*just looking for something simple that works with the iPod Touch 2G.*+
    *It cannot be this difficult?*
    thanks, techo

As I stated above, the docking connector is not a "true" line-out, it does have a volume-tap so the volume control will work. It probably is somewhat cleaner than the headphone out (haven't measured it), but it is not going to be a significant difference as any improvement you get from the connector is severely limited by the DAC in the iPod.
You get no improvement in sound from using the pins on the 30 pin connector versus a 3.5 mm jack. If you buy a Universal Dock it is passing the signal from the 30 pin dock to a 3.5mm female jack, then you use the 3.5mm to RCA. Going directly from the dock connector to RCA will not improve the sound, the 3.5mm connector is not inferior in itself to the RCA connectors.
The A/V kit will get you the ability to watch your videos on your TV and output the stereo signal to your receiver. If you want even better sound for your music, get an Apple TV and use the HDMI cable to transfer the video and sound:

  • QT supports multichannel, but how do we output it?(Recommend Firewire/USB2)

I want to output QT multichannel sound from my Intel Mini and G5 to my stereo while playing back H.264 movie trailers and anything I convert from OTA HDTV broadcasts.
I know I need up to 7.1 analog output for QT AAC multichannel and digital spdif passthru for DVD/EyeTV/VLC since there are no DTS/DD decoding solutions for OS X. The problem is that there are zero recommendations for firwire/usb2 devices that work.
The M-Audio Firewire 410 doesn't appear to have rca output jacks for all 10 channels it claims to put out. There's a discontinued Terratec Firewire sound card that does 7.1 analog and digital output, but it's not really available and does it work?? There's the Griffin firewave that still isn't available for purported 5.1 analog out.
What are we supposed to use? and Why aren't there recommendations plastered on the QT pages?
It's one thing to offer multichannel output, but most of us are clueless as to how to get it from anything that isn't an $800+ pro recording device designed for far more than what consumers need.

Surely when you set the audio track's channel position you are telling the system which of the surround channels to go via? The list to choose from includes Left, Right, Center, LFE Screen, Left Surround, Right Surround, Left Center, Right Center, Center Surround, Rear Surround Left, and Rear Surround Right, as well as many Discreet options.
As an example setup, the Superman Returns trailer has its multichanel AAC set to Center, Leeft, Right, Left Surround, Right Surround, and LFE Screen, which is the typical Dolby Digital 5.1 arrangement.
    I just found this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=421483
which does suggest that without special software or hardware the audio in Apple's own trailers cannot be heard in surround. I'll check with the authorities and post back in a while!

  • RCA hook-up to MBP

I have a new digital camera that was given to me as a wedding present and it is an 8mm cassette digital video camera. I recently bought my MBP and I am trying to hook it up to my mac. The only problem it hooks up through Composite Video. One RCA for video and one RCA for audio. I had some software for my PC that was called DVDDirectX. I bought it at wal-mart and it allowed me to hook up to my PC through USB. Now to the question. What can I get for my Mac to hook my video Camera up? Thanks for your Help.

You can use the ADS Tech Pyro A/V Link
    http://www.adstech.com/products/API-558-EFS/intro/API-558_intro.asp?pid=API-558- EFS
I got one off of ebay.
It has an S-video input, RCA inputs, RCA output, s-video output, component in/out ports.
It connects to you mac with FW400.
Worked great with iMovie, but ***** with final cut pro.

  • Audio sync problem - simultaneous HDMI and analog output

I'm currently running my audio out through my Geforce 460 via HDMI to my A/V receiver. I have a simultaneous stereo analog output running through my ASUS Xonar D2, using Pulseaudio & Amarok as the player (VLC-gstreamer backend).
I use the HDMI and A/V receiver to power my main stereo in my living room, but on occasion when I want music around the house, I use the analog line out to send audio to an FM transmitter.
The problem is, I'm running into audio sync problems. The audio starts out synchronised (at least to the naked ear) but within 20-30 seconds it is noticeably out of sync, with the analog audio (form my FM radio) running around a half second ahead of the HDMI output (my main speakers).
So - where to begin finding where the sync problem is? The receiver? Conversions between 44Khz and 48Khz?
Any help much appreciated - google-foo hasn't turned up anything obvious so far.

Yeah - that was my thought - a very difficult, and probably insoluble problem as it stands. I can't just mute one of the devices as that would defeat the purpose of having multi-room music! Fortunately it's not too noticeable usually, as you can't usually hear the main stereo and the FM radios at the same time, unless you're standing in the right part of the house
The analog splitter cable not really a goer, since running clean, crisp multi-channel HDMI with pass through when needed is the essential goal of the HTPC. So unless I was to switch inputs and or unplug cables...
What I will end out doing, in the absence of a software solution, is hooking the FM transmitter directly to my receiver. I was going to just use the headphone-out jack of the receiver to feed audio to the FM transmitter, but the stoopid receiver can't output audio to external speakers at the same time as the headphone is plugged. To overcome this, I'll probably run a headphone amp off the receiver's RCA outputs, into the FM transmitter. Like this one: http://headamp.com/portable_amps/ae2/, or this one: http://www.amazon.com/Rolls-HA43-Headph … B00102ZOQC
