N8 with Anna, internet browser issue

After Anna upgrade was installed in my N8, I can´t find how to "select" text in the browser, maybe I am in some website, and I need to change what I have entered in the "search" field (like in Google).
Any help is really appreciated. Thanks

open window control window...
(i am not sure control window is exact name... i use the window of my own language version.)
control window... that has many icon... like "program add/delete, sound setting, system, display,
mouse setting, internet option, keyboard setting....etc..." ^^
then you can find "Java Plug-In" icon...
click that icon. then popup window well be shown.
click browser tab....
you can see two check box option "Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape 6".
if Microsoft Internet Explorer checked... you must unchek... after uncheck click apply button.
close all browser and open new brower. ^^

Internet Browser Issues

The issue is......it sucks. Can we download a different mobile browser? If so, how do we unzip it if it's a zip file, how do we install it and get it up and running? I can't watch videos or listen to music with this crappy browser and I can't log into a few of my fav. Websites.

TV 40-46" 1080p 120hz with FULL internet browsing capacity

It looks like there are only 2 tv makers that allow for the full internet access (LG and Sony). I can't find a reasonably-priced sony KDL-40/46EX620 (sold out by BBuy). KDL-40/46EX720, the next model seem to be at 60 refresh rate.
How does the blu-ray work? can it allow the FULL access to the internet or is it only for connection to the pre-set locations, such as u-tube, netflix etc?
Another Q: Do I need the smart TV to watch my downloaded movies?

Let me just add some comments here that conflict with some info already provided. First of all, Sony has not reverted to cheap parts to build their TVs, and they are not as bad as suggested. However, I do agree that Samsung and LG LEDs have better quality, as do Panasonic plasmas (not their LCDs), and of course Pioneer hasn't made a TV in many years.
The reference to the problems with 120 hz was to a four year old post that was indicating problems with 24 fps film based material. Many of these problems have been alleviated in the past few years, however many people (me included) would turn this function off (which is always an option) when watching 24 fps material (such as Blu-Ray). On the other hand 120 hz does do a very good job of reducing blur and providing a sharper image for tape based material, especially beneficial for all sporting events. It is worth the extra cost.
The reference to full web browsing by some manufacturers is probably somewhat of an overstatement, however those with a built in browser can link to well over 95% of the sites that google would bring up. The most exceptions are major video providers such as ABC-TV, CBS-TV, etc. The built in browser is still a plus for these TVs, but they won't totally replace your computer.
The TVs with the browser are the higher ends of LG and Samsung (models 8000, 7000, and I think the 6900). The nice thing about the Samsung models is that they include a full QWERTY keyboard on the flip side of the remote. The Sony Google TV also has this capability, but I believe that it is overpriced and not as good quality of picture as the LG and Samsung models.

Perhaps you can provide us with some verification of your poitns? Particularly about the 120Hz. For your information, 24p interpolation is the only time if might actually do some good! So, you have it backwards. If you can provide any verification, other than from the manufacturers, that shows that it has any affect on motion blur, then post away. Hint: Flashing the same image over and over does not make it sharper, and if motion interpolation is involved, the frames created in between the 60Hz broadcast frames are artificial, and cannot be sharper than the original. SO, post away...I'll be interested...
I guess you also have not used the browers that you reference that you claim can access 95% of websites that google brings up. Startling numbers that go against both my real world experience and any testing/review/rating that I have ever known.
As far as to the quality of Sony TV's you are entitled to your opinion, but with the high return rates, the high failure rates, and the legendarily bad Sony "customer Support", anyone who knows anything will recommend against them. They *are* cheaply made. They *DO* use inferior parts. There sets *ARE NOT* competitive in picture quality to the other big name players. Even a cursory, casual comparison will veryify this.
A full QWERTY keyboard is nice, but that does nto equate to a full browser. The operative word is full....not borowser.

E7 and Internet Browser Issues

Hi, Can anyone tell me if there is a way to stop the built in browser on E7 from using mobile versions of websites like facebook, google and ebay.
While some sites offer a link at the bottom to change to normal view, others do not and it would be nice to have it automatically do this.
I was going to start using Opera Mobile but that does the same, I know their is a debug facility to Opera so if someone knows how I can debug the broswer, then that would be appreciated.

i feel your pain, i dont really think you can evoke such behavior on e7 unless you find another browser. did you try something like uc browser, there are others that might bring about a more pleasurable viewing experience for you.

Adobe Flash (latest) not working with any Internet browser

iMac with latest OS 10.8.3, installed Flash Player plug-in (latest). No flash videos will play in any browser (Safari, Firefox or Chrome). Based on other posts, I cleared Safari cache (deleted stored data), uninstalled Flash, and then re-installed. Still same problem.
I don't see any Preferences related to Flash plug-in in Safari or Computer Preferences.
Suggestions?

I cannot get firefox to work with my internet browser firefox. unfortunatelt\y i have to use explorer if i want to see my email

i can't use firefox for getting my email. comcast is my internet provider and they can't fix the problem. i have to use explorer which works fine. i have a hp pavilion entertainment pc laptop that uses the XP operating system. i would prefer to use firefox.

I have BIS but can't send/receive email, surf with internet browser

i have BB Curve 8520. My BIS was running smoothly (sending and receiving emails real time and surfing the net through BIS), until i noticed when i tried to reply to an email that came in, it won't send. i noticed that it's fluctuating. i was able to send the email after a few minutes... then a few minutes later, i received a replied email from my friend, and when i tried to send my reply, i wasn't able to. also, i can't surf using the browser with the "internet browser" as default. i tried using my wifi and then suddenly all my emails started coming in, all emails that were not able to go through hours ago. my big question was why do i need to turn on wifi just to receive emails. but since i had my BIS for 2 months now, i can send and receive emails and surf through BIS itself without turning on the wifi. also, i can't use any of my apps like facebook, twitter, yahoo messenger, etc. They used to work fine with BIS... but now, i have to turn on the wifi connection, so i could log in with them. aren't these supposed to be running through BIS only?
I have GPRS on top, not gprs.
so, i wiped out my BB and deleted all third party apps. when this was done, i received emails telling me "Your handheld has been registered with the wireless network" and even got "Activation Server" emails telling me that the emails that i have previously set up are now up and running. so i thought my BB is now ok.. i tried surfing, it was okay. after like about 5 minutes, it was down again. tried sending email but can't... i turned on the wifi and boom! the emails started coming in again.
i have the Host Routing Tables and my Service Books in my BB. I have GPRS (not gprs) on top which means i have active BIS. i have registered my HRTs several times... and resending my service books... same thing...
-My carrier has not reported any data outage.
- I'm in an area where I've had RIM data services (for months now). It has always been working well. I've never really had any problems with my BIS until 4 days ago when it just suddenly stopped sending/receiving emails, surfing through internet browser, using facebook, twitter, ym apps, etc..
-the big mystery is when i turn on the wifi, the emails suddenly go through and i can send emails. i can open apps that used to only run on BIS. this is ok i guess, but i could never do any of these if i'm not connected to wifi.
-i've read somewhere that it may be some application error or something, so I've wiped out my BB thrice now, deleted all third party apps, everything is clean i guess, but still I end up with the same problem.
-i updated my OS, same problem.. wiped it out... used BBSAK, reinstalled OS... same thing...
can you help me out with this? i have tried battery pull, wipe out and OS reinstallation lots of times but same problem happens...

Sence I updated to "Mountain" I've been having issues with the internet. My Mac Mini seems to "hang up"

Since I upgraded to "Mountain Lion" I have had issues with my Internet browsing to "hang up". My local apple store is unable to help.

MAC filtering has been disabled up until today, as far as I know. and this is what comes up after I type it in:

BB10 Internet Browser - loading content window

Hello,
I am new at using BB10 and have an issue with the Internet browser.
After I open a web site that has a lot o contents ( usually is Jalopnik site) I get interupted by a player that lasts around 2 seconds that loads a black page with writting on it "Loading content". This is annoing because if I have the music player opened it will pause it.
Is there an option to turn this thing off?

Internet browser keeps crashing

Hi, just wondering if anyone can help??
I have issuses with my internet browser, (doesnt matter if its chrome/explorer) it keeps reloading at random times. Its not when i click certain things, it happens even when I dont touch anything!! I have tried refreshing the os twice and a factory reset.
The problem still exsists after all of that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try these steps.
1.Start Menu>All Programs>Accessories>Systems Tools>Internet Explorer>No Add-ons
2.Control Panel>Internet Options>Programs>Manage adds-Ons and view whether there are any Add-ons installed on your system.
Then , Go to Tools Menu>Click on Manage Adds-On>Enable or disable the application. Keep trying disabling and enabling Ads-ons.
3.Click on Tools>Press Alt+x>Internet Options>Select advanced tab>click Reset>Click Close> Restart your computer.

Unable to Locate Internet Browser on Sony Bravia KDL-48R510C

Hi, I just bought a Sony Bravia KDL-48R510C TV. I am unable to locate the web browser. It's not listed in Home-->Applications nor I can find it on Opera TV Store, Please help me in locating the Internet Browser. Does this TV come with an Internet Browser? I have been searching all over the net for a solution for several hours but am unable to find it. I am on a wireless connection with good speeds. Able to access all default internet contents that came with the TV (Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, Crackle, VUDU, Opera TV Store). Please help..

What version of Windows and Office is it? I had this issue with an older version of office and Windows XP. Basically, MS are using their browser (IE) because it's their software (MS Office). If you go to options in MS word though, you should be able to find an option to set the default browser to open links.

Super Slow Internet Browsing with Airport or LAN and networking activities.

The people at AppleCare are awesome and way polite. But I am a new Mac user and still in my 90 day apple care plan and have not been able to convince anyone that my internet connection on my MacBook is Super Slow. I have quantified it (350k - 550k download and 150k - 250k upload depending on my location), whereas at work right next to my older PC (which I am still using to go on line with since it is more like 3-5mb download) and my Desk Top PC and My Laptop PC are both more than three times faster for internet browsing and network transfers. The Airport on my MacBook seems to be faster than using the Ethernet cable (which I find weird), but they are both more than three times slower than my PC's no matter where I am working.
Which brings me to my next issue, simply changing channels on the router is not the solution because while I can do that on my router at home or at my office. I can not walk into Starbucks or into the school library or my friends houses and ask them all to "fix" their routers for me. These MacBooks need to get fixed.
This is frustrating and I am still waiting for a real solution.

I can post the info you request below, but as I said before, my connection is not dropping, and the problem is not only with Airport. I have an old PC running a 56K modem at home that is faster than my MBP whether I am using Airport or if I connect through my LAN...

Security issue I find with Verizon Internet Suite???

I have strange behavior within my connection to Verizon router, internet suite and windows XP that I cannot seem to get help with. I have inquired many times as to why the security suite utilizes "ports" which are regularly exploited by hackers in order to gain access to network computers attached to Internet. Here's the problem as I see it
...I have regular hits on port 1900 plus similar packets dropped at port 5000 from what I could only surmise was the suite itself ...there is also similar connection of which I cannot interrogate nor investigate as it does not allow. Why would a Internet or network suite utilize known unsecured ports that can easily be exploited. I use no messaging service (messenger, etc,.), no games (not even MS games added as default in XP), no extraneous add-ons at all. I use "nothing but NET" ...lol ...on this machine ...with exception of such times when adobe or media player is needed, and I've disabled the updating for these 2 programs. This is basically an internet browsing computer. I won't go into the topology behind it because its really unimportant to this issue.
The Actiontec router, itself, of course has allocated all sorts of port openings for such services as I listed above. Which ones are really needed and how do I disable or make adjustments to it so that my port 1900 is stealthiest to the internet. My goal is to become as invisable as possible on the internet, I wish to STEALTH this port, for the same reason I wouldn't leave my house key in my front or back door so that just anybody wandering by might notice thus they cannot have access into my house without my permission.
I have achieved some steathiness but there's their seems to be a big hole and Internet suite has nothing in it to disable it or stealthy way to utilize it. I seem to have similar problems with being "Ping" requests. I have half of that job done but I cannot achieve a full stealth mode, as I can be pinged but with no response. According to networking resources this makes me vulnerable for any hacker who has the patience to wait for an opening of any exposed ports. I feel no need to have ports open that are not needed, can anybody help me? Now I'm no netwoking engineer so "ports" meant very little to me until now however I would like to learn ...SMNP, ALG , yada, yada means is "GREEK" to me. ANSWERS with open the port or close the port scenerios ...please ... in layman's terms would be nice too. 65565 is a lot of ports to go through so strings of ports are useful too.

1. If you have plug and play enabled, software can open ports on the router.
2. What do you mean by Internet Suite? Do you have Verizon's software installed?
3. Do you have TV service? If so there are ports that are required to be open so the Web can talk to the STB.
4. Disabling ping or changing settings on the router can hinder troubleshooting if you were to call for support.
5. There are 3rd party software firewalls that can be run on XP or software that can control the firewall in Vista.
6. If you are really concerned about security you could place another router on the LAN port of the Actiontec and put all your PC hardware on the new routers lan. This would put all hardware on the Actiontec and your PCs on different networks. (Double NAT) So even if the internet could get through your first router it would be unlikely they would get through the second.
7. You could adjust the firewall settings on the Actiontec to lock down some of the ports and or ("Stealth the ports")
GRC among other websites can scan your system for open ports. http://www.grc.com/default.htm go to the ShieldsUp page.
Even if your ports can not be seen, or are stealth, there are scanners and viruses on the Internet that can blindy hit ports that are not even indicated as being there. Your firewall logs will show these packets as dropped.
