N80 4.0623.0.42 Fixes?

Can anybody please tell me what this latest version of the firmware fixes. I have upgraded my 02 N80 this morning in the hope that it may fix some bluetooth problems I have but would like a list of bug fixes if possible.
Thanks in advance

  • Making a playlist in Music Player on N80

Is there any easier way of doing it? It will not allow me to "mark several" which means I need to highlight each track and choose: Options > Mark/Unmark > Mark.
Coupled with the fact that it brings up a box that displays only two tracks at a time and a huge, pointless icon next to it.
I have a 1GB memory card crammed with music and it can take ten minutes to create a playlist using this slow and tedious method! Surely a better way of doing it would have been to just bring up a page with a list and allow you to press the left soft key to mark the track?

Not sure if you think this is a huge improvement, but try this:
    Open music player
    Select libary > all tracks
Use the joystick (center keys) to navigate up/down the track list and mark tracks using the pencil icon to the left of the joystick. If tracks have a little tick mark the are marked.
Once your selection is made then
Select > Add to playlist > stored or new playlist.
In general I find the selection a bit tricky and it works best of you are selecting several tracks close to each other in the listing.
    Does this work for you?

  • N80 WiFi Upnp connection trouble

    Hi,
Have setup N80 for WiFi and can use the internet through my linksys router. The problem is when I select gallery> home network> the waiting for devices just sits there. The PC's on the network cannot see the phone either any thoughts?
    Cheers

No, I don't think it works like that I'm afraid. If you go to www.simplecenter.com you can download the media server software and when it's all up and running you can copy pics/music from/to your phone to/from the PC, view pics in the Phone Gallery on your PC, play music on your phone through your PC etc.
    Hope this helps.

  • N80 email access point wandering

    Hiya
I've set up email and wlan fine - and the standard Orange settings for GPRS are working with no problems.
My issue is when I start wandering around!
I set up the phone to check for email though my wifi connection on a regular basis. The idea is that I'm sitting around in the evening without a PC on and my phone will alert me of new email. This also works fine.
However when I leave my hotspot, I want the phone to think "err ok I can't get that connection, I won't keep checking email". I thought that "only in home net." would probably do this in "Automatic retrieval". This appears to work ok as the "Access point in use" for "Incoming email" is et to my wlan..
But, when I go out and about and manually try and check my email, the phone says "Can't find [wlan]" and gives up with no option to check the GPRS connection.
Err - any ideas? I don't think I'm trying to do anything out of the ordinary. I just wwant regular email checks when I'm within range of my lan, and this to stop (unless I manually override) when my only option is internet access that I have to pay for.
I don't see tinkering with the settings on 3 email accounts whenever I come in / go out to be an option.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance,
    Neil

If this doesn't work, back up everything and type *#7370# to soft reset or take it to your nearest Nokia Service Centre and get software version 4.

  • N80 - phantom MMS?

Ever since I updated my firmware to version 4.0623.0.41, every so often, when I am connected to O2 Mobile Web and using the browser, it comes up with a message saying that there is an incoming MMS and that I need to close my connection to let the handset retrieve it.
It comes up with a list of active connections from which I can choose one to close. I close the connection... but I never get a MMS! This has happened about 3 times in 2 days now and I haven't had a single MMS. More importantly, the handset doesn't even attempt to connect to O2 MMS to retrieve it.
    Very strange... any ideas?

    Unfortunatley not...
I would suggest you get a hold of your operator for them to investigate this issue as it is not normal.

    I have some questions,
If i soft-reset my phone what kind of thing will get LOST ( i mean my photos, my contact list and etc.)
If i reset my phone will this problem be solved?
    Thank you.

Ensure you aren't using the memory card to store your messages - Messaging > Options > Settings > Other > Memory in use.
I have a 1GB card and messaging as a whole is extremely slow if I use it to store messages.

  • Nokia 3230 problems

hi! my name is alex and i have a problem with my nokia 3230.
I would be grateful if anyone would help me with this matter.
So, my problem is a technical one: "a buzz-ing SOUND has appeared when the display is iluminated" This sound has amplified in VOLUME since it appeared.
My best guess, from what i can hear,THIS SOUND IS LOCATED UNDER THE KEYPAD.
PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY PHONE.
P.S.: i would be also gratefull if you could mention how much it would COST to FIX it.
    thanks.

    Hi Alex,
Read this thread. It relates to the N70 but perhaps the problem is similar.

  • Works for me, sort of...

Oddly enough, the 616 car kit works fine with my N80. My problem, however, is that once the car kit is switched off and control is handed back to the N80, my phone remains locked (I have the autolock code feature enabled on mine as I have a few sensitive phone numbers) and no matter how many times it asks me for the lock code and the correct one is entered, it never unlocks!! The only way to get out of this is to remove the battery and cold reboot the phone.
I am running the latest firmware (x.042), I've worked around it for the moment by removing the locks and only having the keylock feature activated but this is not a solution.
Otherwise, the car kit is great, as all Nokia car kits have been for me. Now it's just the N80's firmware that needs fixing, again.

Can you tell me where I can find the patch? This link, http://blogs.adobe.com/captivate/2014/07/update-on-captivate-html-5-content-playback-issue -in-google-chrome-browser.html, no longer links to the patch. I also don't have a CPM.js file to manually update. I only have a CM.js file, and neither contain the noteOn or noteOff code.
I am using Captivate 7. Please help, as I cannot get my project to play in Chrome.

  • N71 problem - can anyone help please?

    Hi everyone
I've just started using an N71 that I bought second-hand. It's fine except that every now and then a question pops up on screen:
"Allow sim card to send message?"
It never says what's in the message or where it wants to send it! Can anyone please advise where this is coming from, if it's important, and how I can stop it?
    Thanks.

You generally get this the first time you put your SIM card in... I believe it sends an SMS to request network settings, such as GPRS and MMS, from your network. There's no way of telling exactly what SMS it sent - just click 'yes'.

  • Sharing GPRS/3G connection over WLAN

Does anybody know if it is possible to connect a computer/laptop/handset to a Nokia handset (N80, E61, etc.) using WLAN and share its 3G connection?
    Nokia N80 - v4.0623.0.41

Yes... I have done it, but it seems a bit flaky. I use it via a Bluetooth 2.0 EDR connection to my Apple PowerBook - we didn't get that far with our Windows machine (a Dell Inspiron) as the Bluetooth doesn't seem to work properly on that. Use Internet Connection Sharing on Windows XP or the Sharing Preferences on Mac OS X to set it up.
The 3G connection is OK for email and web browsing, but Skype didn't like it much. Maybe Skype optimises itself for broadband if that's what you usually use?

  • Problems recieving messages

I had a problem with my N80, so I had it fixed. Since then I am unable to recieve text messages on my O2 number from one specific carrier in a different country. However, with my pay as you go o2 number, I can recieve from that carrier!! Please if anyone has a solution, please let me know. I did contact O2, as they always say you should check with that carrier!!! Thanks

Hello Evilheroneos, let's solve this mystery! Have you been able to receive messages from any other numbers besides the contact? Can you power off phone and reboot. Test sending a message to yourself to see if you receive it. Is the line postpay or prepaid? Keep us posted!

  • Digital pen SU 1B and N73

I tried to pair my nokia n73 and nokia digital pen but somehow the bluetooth code didn't work. I did also update pen/pc softwares but still no response. Wonder if it is the problem with the pen or is it because n73 need special application for digital pen? Please help! Got a pen for almost two weeks, still unable to use it! Please!

I've got the N80 with this pen. Just took the cap off, search for devices on my N80, found it, entered the code that came on the card in the box, set it to authorised always on the phone and it works great.
Does your pen light up to show it's got power when the lid is off ??

  • N73 camera cannot start

While taking a series of photos with the camera... the camera application suddenly had no image. Close/restart the app, still no image. Power off/on, same problem. Even did a reset *#7370#, still no luck.
Any ideas what might be wrong?

A few things you could try...
The Miracle Cure - remove the battery and SIM card and leave it for a few minutes before reassembling it.
Try a hard reset... Switch off handset. While holding down the 3 key, green call key and asterix key, switch the handset on and hold all 4 buttons down, including the power key. If successful, boot up will take longer than normal and you should be greeted with the initial screen where you select your location.

  • N73 and Tom tom mobile

I have bought a N73 and Tom Tom Mobile but I am unable to get the software to work.
I copty the files from the cd on to a freshly formated memory card and all the files apear on the card.
When I put the card into the phone not all the files are visiable. if I put the card abck into the laptop the fiels are still there. Is this normal?
If it is ok how do I actually load up the application ??
is the software even compatiable with this phone?
    thanks

Where did you buy it from and what version is it? TomTom MOBILE 5 and older versions do not work with the N73. The newly released TomTom NAVIGATOR 6 will work, but at the moment I think only the PDA version has been released. It also mentions on the website that it only supports the E61 anyway... baaah.
