It worked!!!

FINALLY FINALLY
I got it to work. I don't know if this will help anyone but ....
NSU just didn't work, it would not even find my N80. I finally found that in windows device manager (from control panel - system/hardware/device manager), that the N80 when connected was 'not working properly' - some problem with the driver. I've spent a ridiculous number of hours tearing my hair out!!
So - I uninstalled all of the following - NSU, PC Suite, any Nokia applications at all listed under 'install programs' in control panel, I've deleted any Nokia folders from my hard drive. Then I downloaded the Nokia PC cleaner (from the PC suite support page on the europe nokia site) - ran this, it churned on for some minutes. Then restarted the pc. REinstalled just NSU (latest version).
Now - my N80 connects with no problem. NSU recognises it, and is downloading version 4 software. I haven't yet reintalled pc suite but I don't think this would change things - obviously something was corrupted somewhere previously.
Sorry for the long ramble - just thought it 'might' help someone?!!

    I didn't end up going as i thought i'd hang on for advice from this post, ill just go on monday morning instead.
    I tryed taking the battery out and it hasnt done anything unfortunatly.
    I tryed pressing retry about 10 times, once it almost completed before failing....was a sad moment, it got my hopes up and everything!
    Eventually it stoped recognising the phone thus i'm in this situation of not having a phone .

    When I try to update my N80, NSU show 4.0632.0.38 as the latest update si it says that my phone is already up to date.
    I got my phone in same time with two friends and they can update theirs (we are in france and we all have Orange operator).
    How to update my phone please ?

    Do you have the IE edition? I have the same thing and NSU says that I already have the latest one.

  • N80 SOFTWARE PHONE UPDATER PROBLEM

    Just to clarify further:
    I attempted to download a software update for my N80 phone. It seems as if I had not actually completed the software download, and I now realise this after re-tracing the steps I took. What was left on the phone I remember was a ".sis" file.
    I followed your advice yesterday.... I in fact reset the phone memory... to no avail. The same problem exists with the phone i.e. unable to access certain features eg. Gallery; extremely slow response to pressing keys on the phone. What should I do??
    1) Should I attempt from scratch to download the update from the Nokia site to my phone again??
    2) Should I just take it to a phone store and attempt to repair it??
    3) Does it seem I have permanently damaged the phone - aarrgghh!

    Unfortunately things are not looking good. Firstly try leaving battery out for 5 minutes and then replace.
    Secondly you might like to look at post from nando61 just input "N93 update fix" into "Search Discussions" at top right of screen. Although different S60 phone to yours, it seems to be a question of whether NSU can be "tricked" into reading phone so that software can be re-loaded.
    It appears to have worked on an N70, N73 and N93 so far apart from loss of data unfortunately!
    It may however be a small price to pay if you have a "bricked" "N" Series and a visit to a Nokia Service Centre neither practical or feasible.
    Happy to have helped forum in a small way with a Support Ratio = 37.0

    After update tried several times to restore phone content using genuine USB cable from two backups: one fresh incl. memory card and another 1 week old just the phone. PC Suite sometimes shows successful restore, sometimes a message that not all content was restored. The phone after restore always restarts with the message: "Phone will restart". No content is restored.
    SW: WinXP SP2; Nokia PC Suite 6.81.13.0
    Any advice will be appreciated.

    Your N80, has probably been "grey imported", and was not meant for the Chinese Market! :-(
    Nokia Software Updater looks for the production-code of your N80, and installs/updates the firmware accordingly!

  • Problem in updating N80

    Dear All
    i made an update today for my N80, but after updating the machine i didnt find the Arabic language which means i can send Arabic SMS. i tried to put the language on Automatic but it didnt work. so please if there is a way to restore or to install the Arabic language to my phone.

    I remember seeing something like this before. I think it's an Oracle specific thing maybe try doing your select like this:
    select t.* from temp t where t.AC_GL_NO='cwcf'
    I don't know why but using an alias makes it work sometimes.

  • N80 - Music Player does not see new tracks in musi...

    I updated my N80 with the latest firmware last week. I recently added fur new tracks to my phone. I can see the track in the gallery under tracks but when I go to the music player, and into the music library the tracks are not there, even if i say update music library it tells me 0 tracks updated/added. Please help.

    To the guys who posted earlier... have you found the solution for this problem?
    My N80 has been updating fine until two days ago when i uploaded new songs... the tracks get in but the music library doesn't update these new tracks in, it would register 0 added tracks then after the update it would say that there are no tracks in at all... you need to get out of the music player first & reenter it to see the tracks that were already there before the new ones... if i try to remove tracks, the update works fine & would record the removed tracks... what is wrong????

    Today I have updated my N80 SW to the version to 4.0623.0.42. As it shows NOKIA SOFTWARE UPDATER this is the newest avaliable version. Actually i have not noticed any noticeable changes. The reason of updating was the hope of increasing of the worsest Nseries Video Quality. But there are no fix of it...
    But some members of Nokia Discussion Forum already got the newest version 4.0632.0.38. (which includes a dozen of fixes. Please look on here

    I dont know if there is MAC adress filtering (Also nobody knows where the Spot is located. The building where I work has many floors and is very big. I also will not ask IT-Adminst about this spot, because I think they will then block it for regular users like me ) Is there a way to detect MAC adress Filtering without asking somebody?
    After Installing WLan wizzard it founds Wlan network. Then I define it as an access point and choose Browse web. An error message appears: "Unable to connect: WLan Network not Found". And This spot dissapears for 4-5 Minutes again
    The same problem occures with another WiFi spots (in Cafe's with wifi zones).
    It makes me very nervous, beacuse one of the big reason of buying N80 was WiFi support
    Any other Solutions?

    the firmware you have is for N80 & the firmware you wana get is for N80 Internet Edition.
    You cant get this update coz N80 & N80 Internet Edition have got different Product Codes. You have to change your N80 product code to a N80IE product code & then Nokia Software Updater will update your firmware to the 1 which you want. But in the process you'l get your waurantee void coz u'l change the product code & changing the product code will void your waurantee.
    I have N80 myself & i updated it to N80 Internet Edition. I can tell you, there's literaly no difference between the two excepting for the name tag that 'yeh, i'v got a N80 Internet Edition'.

    ive been with bb for i dont even know how many years.. and have always supported and told pepople how i love my bb ...
    however im about done with it now
    after updating to the new forced update via rogers... my phone ran out of battery and now its dead and wont "charge"
    talked to rogers they said they have tickets sent to bb regarding this issue as its not uncommon.
    i have tried 100 differnt things online and wasted my whole day fiddeling with my phone instead of with my kid
    its getting annoying and sick of the fact that BB has NO COSTUMER SERVICE number you can contact.
    even on these forums people are replying no ACTUAL BB employee is helping... just randomes who like i have (or i should say had) some interest in helping others with bb devices.
    my phone does not turn on
    it keeps looping off and on
    the furthest it gets is to the loading operating system then it restarts at about the 80% mark
    i did the update it stalled half way.
    after it stalling for two hours at the same percentage i rebooted
    "update failed"
    redid update...
    "update failed"
    rebooted ...redid update...
    "update successfull"
    worked fine untill yesterday when it $hit the bed

    This is what we understand also, but more with the Z30...I do not recall this affecting the Z10. However, it is your subsequent words, somewhat contradicting this report, that gave me more hope for your situation.

    Given that difficult to understand description, I am guessing that you have NOT tried the AutoLoader method. I recommend you do so. You may also want to use the SIC MultiWipe tool to really try and cleanse your device to prepare it for an AutoLoader installation.

  • Can't connect to internet after updating new Firmware wrt54g Help please!

    So i just updated my firmware on my wrt54g ver 2 router, went through all the steps it updated successfully after that i hit the reset button and unplugged the router as tehe online instructions said to. Now i can't connect to the interent at all with either of my two wired computers or through the wireless. All the lights on the front of the router are on like the power, internet, and wireless connectivity. Also the the two WAN ports my computers are connected to in the router the lights are on and it's recognising them. But I can't connect to the internet or even see the router on my network settings. Somone suggested to reconfigure the router but when i go to set up new connection my computer doesn't detect the router and also i cant connect to the router using the ip address 192.168.1.1/ since there is no internet connection. Is there a way to get to the router options or a way to revert it to its old firmware. Any help would be much appreciated. I should after updating the firmare the power button is contantly blinking.

    I am having the exact same problem..  I have the same router and same version as well.. I followed the directions and upgraded the firmware. it said update successfull and then I reset it and power cycled it to find that my network no longer works and I cannot access the router..I've looked through all the troubleshooting guides and they do not help..  It says if you can't access the web based page then to use the TFTP  utility to re-flash the router’s firmware but it seems it cannot make a connection to the router..  I've tried to ping it like it says to in the TFTP guide but it does not seem to be able to make a connection to the router..  I tried to access Management Mode to recover the router and resume the loading of the firmware upgrade but I can't get the Management Mode Firmware Upgrade page to open as well..  So what gives?  I followed the directions  but the only thing I seemed to accomplish was to brick my router..   Does anyone have a clue on how to go about fixing this problem?   Any help is appreciated..
