N80-best place to repair faulty keys?

My week old N80 has developed a serious fault with the 'menu' and 'right' 'down' navigation keys no longer working. It seems like I have two options.
1)Take it to my local service centre, probably a branch of the carphonewarehouse, none of whom answer the phone when I call and will probably be unable to fix the problem on site anyway.
2)Send it straight to the Nokia repair centre in the post, even though there seems to be no indication of the length of time they'd hold my (only) mobile phone with.
If anyone has any previous experience getting a fault fixed and can suggest which option to go with that'd be really helpful.
Thanks

the phone was a gift and cannot be returned easily
That should be an issue. Is it on contract or SIM free? If contract, get the account holder (if not you) to contact the network and get a replacement. You warranty is with them in this instance to replace.
If SIM free, take to a service centre, and they'll sort it.

  • My ipone 5c screen broke what is best place for repair and cost?

My iphone 5c has a broken screen, where can I get it replaced and the price for that?

I guess as I haven't had a lot of issues with previous phones (only had to have a phone looked at for a hardware issue once), I'm trying to gauge whether the risk is worth it or not, which is why I posed the question here. What's the likelihood of something happening to my phone's hardware? But then how to I justify the higher price for getting it repaired by an Apple licensed service provider?
I know you guys can't necessarily answer those questions, but that's my contemplation right now.
    Thanks.

  • Best place for keys

on my T40 im missing the J key and switch. where is the best place to get them at ?
i noticed there are a few kinds of switches so i figure it would matter what kind of key i need. right?
my keyboard has the little blue stub sticking up.

I've got a bunch of keys from the T4x units, and am fairly certain that could find the one that you need.
That being said, have you ever fixed the mechanism under the key? Replacing the entire keyboard is a lot easier...

  • Is Apple a trustable place to repair my Macbook Pro?

My macbook pro wouldn't turn on one day so I went to an Apple Store. They told me there was water damage, therefor it was going to cost $500 to fix the logic board(i never spilled anything on it)(my macbook is still under warenty). So, I told them to go ahead and do it. Well, today they called me and said they fixed the logic board, but it still will not turn on. So, they said they will call me again tomorrow. I am scared they will charge me another $500 repair then tell me it still isn't working. Then they may just keep charging me till they virtually replace it. Should I just take it away from them before its too late? Will they keep charging me for it? Is apple a trustable place to repair my mac or should I go someplace else.

water damage is not under warranty. This could happen from wiping it down with something a little too wet, overly sweaty palms or just dumb luck all together.
Apple is very trust worthy but that is something you should have asked them before they went ahead and did more work. I would imagine the 500 is a flat rate to fix what they said was the matter with it, however if replacing the logic board didn't work, then it must not have been water damage so I would detest that with them since you're still underwarranty.
When they call back, bring that up. Tell them, "you said that it was water damage and I needed a new logic board, but since you've replaced the logic board and it wasn't the situation, then I feel like you need to show me more evidence that it was water damage and not a factory malfunction.
Since this computer is so new and it is still under warranty I'm very hesitant as to these extra costs I'm incurring since this is still a brand new machine under warranty and you've had it for quite a while. It sounds like water damage was a guess and replacing the logic board didn't work so it over rules that possibility of water damage being the issue at all and rather a faulty connection somewhere else."
Or something like that. Let them know you're upset with how your experience is going so far and that you're questioning their expertise and need your computer back sooner then later. Apple is a reputable repair center and help center. Whether or not your local Apple store has competent individuals is a different story.

  • Where is the best place to buy a replacement screen for late 2007 Macbook (3.1)?

    All,
My screen needs to be replaced on my late 2007 Macbook.  I am willing to do the work myself, but need help in finding the correct model screen to buy.  Where would be the best place to buy?

Depending on your geographical location, region, country, etc, part
sources will vary. So this is an open question. An independent
authorized Apple trained repair specialist or service facilitiy may
be able to get the part(s) and do the service. That is an old MB
and a regular Apple Store may be able to diagnose or estimate
a repair cost; but it also could be too old for that route to repair.
    A best place to buy a part could be anywhere one is for sale;
there are several online and some ship almost world-wide.
If you are in north America, there are some who also may ship
to other areas, but then there is shipping, taxes, duty fees, etc.
You may be able to narrow down the part numbers and such
by looking into online parts resellers, an example may be
    powerbookmedic.com, powermax.com, wegenermedia, etc.
There may be a part number reference in iFixit.com guides.
A service part such as main original hardware is more difficult
than a replacement hard disk drive or optical drive. Availability
varies, so without knowing where you are, I can't speculate as
to that, or any price structure. Authorized repair centers may
be found in the main online Apple links for service centers.
Sorry to not be of much help

  • Where is the best place to buy the new ipad? Please help

I am ready to buy a new ipad.  There is no apple store in my town but I will be close to one in a couple of days.  My town has Best Buy, Target, and Walmart.  Assuming I can find what I want... in case I have issues with it, where is the best place to purchase from??  (as far as ease of return, etc). Please advise.

Dah*veed ..... I do not disagree with what you said about the AppleCare+ protection plan as it does state on the website that proof of purchase is required - IF ... You purchase over the phone. Actually, I did not expect to be able to do this over the phone, but as I said I received the paperwork today via email.
I copied this from the website and I'm typing this on my new iPad so it may come out a little distorted but you can read the sentence at the bottom that says it can be done over the phone with proof of purchase. I gave the rep my serial number, confirmed my address and CC details and the deal was done. I even called back later in the day to make absolutely certain that I did in fact purchase the AppleCare+ plan that has the two incidents of accidental damage included for a $49.00 charge. The rep did in fact confirm that I did buy the correct plan that I wanted and I am looking at the printed paperwork confirming the whole thing.
    Maybe I just got lucky!
    iPad - AppleCare+
Every iPad comes with one year of hardware repair coverage and 90 days of telephone technical support. AppleCare+ for iPad gives you two years of repair coverage and technical support from the original purchase date of your iPad. And it adds coverage for up to two incidents of accidental damage due to handling of your iPad, each subject to a $49 service fee.1
    How to get AppleCare+
You must buy AppleCare+ within 30 days of your iPad purchase.
There are three ways to buy:
From the Apple Online Store: When you order the new iPad or iPad 2, you’ll have the option to add AppleCare+ to your cart before you check out.
At an Apple Retail Store (requires a Genius Bar appointment, inspection of the iPad, and proof of purchase).
By calling 1-800-275-2273 (requires proof of purchase).

  • Where is the best place to sell my old MacBook Pro?

I have a 2008 MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz which is in need of a new logic board due to a faulty graphics card. Also in need of a new battery. Everything else is in perfect working order.
Is there a market for spare parts for this model?
Where is the best place to list/sell?
What price should I be happy with?
    Cheers.

Unfortunatly with that machine, logicboard/graphics problems are pretty common. Because of that, the only parts that are really in demand are working logicboards. The rest of it isn't in very high demand at all.

  • Best place to find more plugins??

    hi everyone
Where is the best place to find more plugins to add to those already with Logic?
The effects with logic are very good but id like to add to those now.
Is there a big range of plugins like the vst's for cubase?
    Thanks
    Andy

    Hey Andy,
There is just as large a collection of plugins for Logic (these come in the AU or Audio Units format) as for Cubase. Anywhere you can buy recording equipment should be selling plugins too. Some free plugins (but not very useful most of the time) can be found on places like www.digitalfishphones.com or www.airwindows.com . The guy that owns AirWindows seems to basically do code copies of plugins. He's got some great free plugins. . . one of which I often use on vocals. he also has some paid plugins that are far cheaper than the competition ($60 vs. $500 for a tape emulation plugin for instance) that are VERY good.
If you're looking to buy plugins, go to www.sweetwater.com . . . or really any large pro audio retailer, but sweetwater's a good place to start. If I knew more of what you were looking for I could help guide you a bit better.
Also, if you have an ilok key you can download demos of many paid plugins and give them a test drive.

  • Best place to find the most authentic information

Best place to find the most authentic information about plans, insurance companies, eligibility, navigators and even the Exchange. Most often, people are unaware that they are eligible for government sponsored coverage and end up buying private and costly health plans. But when a resident accesses the Exchange, he is immediately informed about his eligibility and if interested, he can purchase the subsidized plan. For those who do not have access to the internet, it is the responsibility of the health Exchange to provide information to these residents through other means. Hence, those residents who previously could not purchase health policies due to lack of awareness and information, the health Exchange will prove to be a one-stop shop where they can access information, compare plans and finally purchase that suits their medical and financial needs.

  • The best place for content server

    Hello,
We need to install content Server . SAP ECC is in Paris .
The users who will use the content server will be in New-York.
Is the best place for content server in Paris or in New-York?
The question could be : Will a document (for ex. a pdf of 100 Mb) to be checked_in the CS be first transferred from frontend to ECC and then from ECC to CS or directly from frontend to content server ?
    Thanks

    Hi Oda,
If your users are in New-York, then better to have content server there to optimize network traffic and speed. There is something called as distributed content server concept where you can have different storage areas for different geographical locations.
And as far as i know, whenever files are checked-in, they are directly stored in content server and it will not route through the ECC. Only DIR stored in the ECC will be linked to the file in the content server.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Ravi

  • Where's the Best Place....

    Hello once again,
I have yet to purchase my MBP, and I am wondering from all of your experiences, where is the best place to buy a 1gig 3rd party RAM. Paying all that money for Apple's RAM isn't that way I want to go, but if there's no recommended 3rd party companies, I may need to cough over the bucks...
    thanks,

Fair enough. I wasn't actually suggesting buying from Crucial. The best source for the 1gb Crucial was Newegg.com at $150 - but this is also for a chip that Apple are supplying as original ram so it's not a bad price. I didn't know Crucial sold Samsung - seems a bit odd as they are owned by Micron who also supply Apple as OEM. Business makes for strange bedfellows:)
OWC sell their own branded ram for $112 or so and Samsung M470T295CZ3-CE6 (as also supplied by Apple) for $170. What I was saying was that this Samsung chip,
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Samsung/53SDR2SAM1GB/
can be found for as little as $120 - so OWC are a tad expensive for this particular chip if that is the one you were thinking of buying.
It sounds like you're going for the OWC own brand, so I can't recommend a cheaper source for that and they know a thing or two about ,macs so there's no reason to not trust their judgement.
    Best of luck
    Cheers.

  • What now? I got repair failed  "Keys out of order" and "Invalid extent entry"

What now? I tried to verify & then repair disk and I got "repair failed"  "Keys out of order" and "Invalid extent entry"

You've booted from your OS installer disk, ran Repair Disk from Disk Utility? If so then you need a stronger disk repair utility like DiskWarrier to rebuild the directory.
    BTW, update your profile information.
