N80 - Bluetooth light not switching off

Just got my new N80. I paired it with my laptop. It works fine. However, the Bluetooth light keeps blinking although I have turned off Bluetooth and also made the phone "Hidden". I would like to turn the light off completely since, possibly, it would eat away the battery charge. Appreciate your help.

There isn't a Bluetooth light on the N80. The light I think you're referring to (top left, just under the N80 logo) is a sleep indicator. It just shows that the phone is still powered when the display has gone off.
If you want to turn it off Tools; Settings; Phone; Display; Sleep mode = OFF.
Be warned though... sleep mode off means that the display will not go to sleep, and the battery drain will be greater than having the flashing led.

Try the following.
Download the Realtek HD Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.

When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right click the Realtek HD Audio device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery, plug in the AC Adapter and start the notebook.
Let Windows fully load, then open your Downloads folder, right click on the Realtek installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, restart the notebook again.

If your iPad is not switching on then try a reset : press and hold both the home and sleep buttons for about 10 seconds when the Apple logo should appear (you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot).

What exactly are you trying to do?
Turn off Bluetooth?
Swipe up from the bottom of your screen and tap the bluetooth icon (White is on, Back is off)
or
Settings > Bluetooth > Bluetooth - Off

Car ck 7w not switch off

Hi all, I have a problem with HF ck-7w. This hf is not switch off. According to manual it must do after 2 minutes. I try to find active BT devices after 2 hours and I find the HF (the blue led is still light! Any idea? Thank for your help. Jan

Check the blue wire, it may be wired constant live and should be wired to ignition live. Also try and disconnect the main box, it may have had a software problem and needs resetting.

My Mac Pro does not switch off.

It worked before Lion. Installed 10.7 and also upgraded to 10.7.1 but, on both cases, it does not switch-off. To be precise it "sometimes" switch-off but many times it does not. Let's say once on 15 times... With Leopard I nevere had this problem. (it persists also after a PRAM reset). I also run a second problem but only once and only upgrading to 10.7.1 (not to 10.7). It says that my RAM was on wrong position.. I had to remove and install the RAM again and it worked.
Any other case like this? (This append only on my MacPro - early 2009. On my MacBook and my MacBook Pro OSX Lion works fine).

Is there a pattern to the chimes, or are they simply random, as if the Mac is repeatedly rebooting on its own?
Have you tried a "Safe Boot"? Press and hold a Shift key as you power up the Mac. Does it start then?
If it starts at all "Safe Boot" will take much longer than usual, that's normal. Shutting down will take longer also. Try it.

That is not good but lets see if we can get it back to life. If you can, see if you can put your iPhone into recovery mode and then use iTunes to restore it. If you can get it to restore, it will erase everything off your iPhone. If you have a back up in iTunes or iCloud then you can put that on after the restore is complete. You may also try the Windows registry setting. Kindly be careful while editing windows registry.
Have a look at the following registry location (note that you need to invoke regedit.exe with administrative privileges in order to make any changes in this location) and ensure that the value ClearPageFileAtShutdown is set to 0 (if it is set to 1, change the value to 0).

IMac fan not switching off

We have a 2007 Intel iMac and the internal fan is not switching off. Would be grateful for some assistance or advice?

I took my 2010 27" iMac in for the same reason. They said my hard drive is over heating and needs replacing. My monitor is also dying. Less than 2 years old. The mother board was replaced this time last year.

HT1369 my 5th generation nano appears to have frozen with the apple logo appearing continually. It will not switch off and is not recognised any more on my computer.

I Updated My IPhone 4 on the 2nd of Jan 2013 and since then it will not switch off silent mode with the switch on the side of the phone , does any one know what i can do or if there is any other way to switch it off silent ?

First, try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data by resetting, but it can clear some glitches.

CK-7W not switching off on bluetooth connection

Complete noob so please bear with me - trying to upgrade my carkit on the cheap.
Have just upgraded from a CARK-91 to a CK-7W by just swapping the HF unit, removing the cradle and installing a CU-7 button in the car. No cradle any more - just BT.
With regards the power I just used a molex converter which converted the 6pin connector to a 4pin. It seems to work fine but the kit does not seem to switch off. I understand that if the IGN sens is not wired the unit will stay on even after the ignition is switched off. But according to the manual it should switch after two minutes if the phone is disconnected.
When I walk away from the car my phone disconnects. If after 10-15 mins I go bit closer to the car, I can see the CU-7 blue light is on and if I do a search on my phone for audio enhancements it finds the CK-7W.
When I get in the car my phone does not auto connect again regardless of the ignition until I press the CU-7 button once. The phone then pairs and the car kit beeps.
So, I dont understand why the blue led on the CU-7 stays on. This suggests the kit is still powered on - but then why does it not auto-pair with the phone until I press the CU-7 button once?
Any ideas please?

It sounds like your ck-7w has had a software freeze, try disconnecting the unit for a couple of minutes, then plug back in. Also using a test lamp chack the blue wire to see if there is power there and if it switches off with the key, it may be wired constant live.

MacBook Pro keyboard backlight not switching off

I recently bought a 13" MacBook Pro (2012, 2.9GHz i7) and it came with Mountain Lion preinstalled. The keyboard backlight isn't behaving as I had expected: when the "Adjust keyboard brightness in low light" option is checked, it does indeed adjust the brightness of the backlight when ambient light levels change. However even when the ambient light is VERY bright (desk lamp shining down) the backlight doesn't switch off; instead it just goes to full brightness. I understand that the backlight usually dims in dark conditions to save battery, but why would it go bright when the keyboard is fully visible without a backlight? Is there a way to make the keyboard backlight go off when there is plenty of background light and come on when the environment is dark?

Auto brightness operation usually works in the way yours is working. It is dimmer in very low light and progressively gets brighter as the ambient light increases. There are cases where this is actually helpful as in wierd backlighting situations.
You can override in the System Settings and from the keyboard "function" keys. I'm not at my MBP right now, but I think the keyboard backlighting controls are somewhere near F5 and F6.
