Hi limpk82
You can use Nokia Maps for N73 on your N80. Download from here: http://europe.nokia.com/A4509291
It was one of the versions supported when smart2go was first released, but dropped with later release.
Happy to have helped forum in a small way with a Support Ratio = 37.0

"PS the NSU seems to work when using Parallels. It does recognize the phone and checks for available firmware. My question is: Is it safe to update the phone through Parellels? Did anyone try?"
I tried it today. Wish I didn't. NSU finds the phone (6500 slider), tells me there's an update etc. I run it, it goes on for about 10 minutes. When a few minutes is left, WinXP seems to have lost connection to the phone and NSU times out after a few minutes, telling me to reconnect the phone. At this time, the phone is dead. Won't turn on, at all.
I go to google, NSU FAQ etc etc. Removing the batteri, inserting the battery and charger, reconnecting etc. Only thing I get, is NSU telling me to recover the phone and so it tries. But it fails within a minute, telling me to start the recover procedure igen. Over and over, same thing.
Meanwhile WinXP is giving those "USB unit connected" and "USB unit disconnected" sounds every once in a while. Sometimes with just a few seconds in between. Like Windows cannot maintain connection to the phone.
I also tried the NSU FAQ with formatting the phone, holding down *, 3 and "green answer call button" while pushing "power on"-button for one second. It doesn't say how long I must hold down the *, 3 "answer call" buttons. I think I did it for a minute or so, but no "nokia tune" was to be heard, as the FAQ tells.
Later tonight I'm going to a friend to have his Windows computer try to recover it, I hope that'll work. If not, then I have to send it in for service and wait for at least a week

  • N80 and Nokia Map...

    Hi,
Any body knows if Nokia Map services are intended to be available for N80 in the nearest future?

That will only give you the map application and NOT location information. To get location (GPS) information on the N80 you will need to purchase and external GPS receiver. I use the Nokia LD-3W for my N80.
I'll interest why N73 is compatible with N80?
I have a N80 and HOLUX M-1200 GPS. This GPS worked with some apps but not with my version of Nokia Maps, I will try the N73 version.
I tried various apps, with different results (N80 talking to the GPS):
LOCR: N80 OK to start, then stops talking via BT.
    TrekBuddy: Works OK.
NavFun: N80 OK to start, then stops talking via BT (restart BT).
    etc

  • Nokia maps s40 (c3-01//c2-03//asha 300)

Hi there, Where can I download nokia maps for these devices? (euro maps) C2-03 has nokia maps, so it should be available in some ways, right?
DO NOT link me this http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/maps-support/compatibility-and-download because these phones are not listed.
    Thank you

    Hi Enneotto8,
As far as I can tell, Nokia C3-01 does not support Nokia Maps. If Maps download is not made available to you through Nokia Suite, then I'm sure that your device does not support Nokia Maps. The C3-01 also does not have a GPS receiver as part of the phone hardware, and reviews of the phone I have read on the Internet, do not make mention of any Maps functionalities. Yes, it would be convenient even to have an offline version of Maps, but sadly I doubt this is available.
    Hope this helps.

  • E 71i - compatibility with Nokia Maps

    Hi,
I have Nokia 71i and was wondering whether it supports Nokia maps. I did some research in the Nokia web site. The product page, this model is stated to be supporting the Maps, in the downloads tab, Nokia Maps link has been given. Whereas in the Nokia Maps page, this model doesn't exist in the list of models that support this software. Hence I am a bit confused. Can someone clarify?
    Thanks in advance
    Kamarajan

As the E71i is meant to be an updated E71, I should support Nokia Maps. You could try the version for the E71.

Exactly, so if you don't have a data plan and use the sat images a lot then you'll get charged a lot.

    Hi leobox1,
The latest PC suite version is 7.0.8.2. So if you are not using this, then uninstall the current PC suite and download the latest version.
Next, go to http://europe.nokia.com/A4984199, to update both the Nokia Maps in your N85 to version 2 and also download the latest Nokia Maps Loader version 2.0.2
Note: If your N85 is brand new, you must use your N85 GPS application at least once before you can use Nokia Map Loader.
    Hope all these helps........

  • Nokia Maps compatibility

I recently updated my Nokia N97 software to the latest version.  Since then I have not been able to run my Nokia Maps Software.  It tells me to install the latest version.  When I try to install the latest version, I get an error message saying the installation has failed.  I have tried re-installing the N97 software.  I also tried to re-install it from the internet, but the system tells me no updates are available
    Please help

As the E71i is meant to be an updated E71, I should support Nokia Maps. You could try the version for the E71.

  • Can't update Nokia maps

I opened Nokia Maps, then Options->Download maps->Selected Finland's maps to be downloaded for offline use. No matter how many times I try, it gives an error message where it tells me "could not connect to the server, please try again later". Over the course of three weeks I've tried to continue the download dozens of times with a fully working wifi and it just won't download the maps for me.
So, now that I already started downloading the new version of the map but could not finish the download, I can't even use the old version of the map because it says I need to finish the download first.
Well, I thought I could use Nokia PC Suite for updating the maps. As I click the link "Download maps for Nokia maps" it opens Here.net in my browser and nowhere on that web page could I find an option to download the maps for my phone.
How can I update maps for my phone?
    Phone: Nokia E7-00
    OS: Nokia Belle FP1

Suggest perhaps that you delete E:\cities + .qf file from your E7-00, re-start Nokia Maps to re-define necessary folder structure and try re-downloading your regional mapping!
Here is direct download link for Finland from 00.02.49.104 series should it be needed.
Assume that typographic error in your post and that you meant Nokia Suite not PC Suite.
Let me know if any further assistance required.

  • Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 breaks headphone support on N...

    Hi there,
Software update and the Ovi store recommended that I update to Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 on my N8 running Belle.
I did so over the air from the Ovi store link. Installation didn't interact with me but phone eventually restarted. Maps wouldn't work i.e. selecting the shortcut or going into the menu and locating the Maps icon would not launch it and my wired headset WH-701 was no longer recognised when I inserted it. Checked installed apps - Maps not there. Checked the forums and there's a lot of misinformation out there about this sort of problem, some of it bluetooth specific, but no direct answer :-(
Did a soft restart *#7780# and when the phone restarted had my headphones back :-) BUT no maps :-( Last night did the Ovi store link again from my broadband router this time with the phone in offline mode and wifi on. Installation was a lot more interactive giving progress on each app being installed. It did give a 'running out of memory on c: drive' error a couple of times (I had checked before the installation and had 25Mb). Phone restarted, maps was terrific, even showing locations of pics I'd taken with the phone and offering me public transport timetables in U.S. cities but ... headphones not recognised when inserted!
I believe I'm now in a position where I can use my N8 for maps OR for listening to music/radio but not both. Some people will recommend a hard reset, wipe the thing, start from scratch but I'm wondering if it's not just my handset - what if there is a bug that hasn't been noticed yet? Maybe the low memory in C: is impacting on the installation and some parts are being dropped to accomodate this.
    My plan of action is
    i) to post this in the hope someone has come across this already and has a working solution
ii) Do a backup of my txt messages, pics and other data files
iii) make a note of all the extra installed apps from Ovi etc.. and make sure I can get them again
iv) do a hard reset, apply all the updates, reinstall all my apps, transfer back any relevant data files and hope I'll have Maps AND be able to listen to music :-)
All thoughts/comments/suggestions. Never forget, there's no such thing as stupid questions, only stupid answers

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Some quick regression;
As I'd mentioned Radio I thought I should try that app. Ran it and it gave the message about insert a headphone 'cause it's used as an antenna so I put in the headphone .... and after about 10 secs the headphone symbol popped up! And I could hear static! So I quickly switched to the music player app and played a tune! Sweet! Then the radio app lost the headphones and the music player stopped :-(
So, I unplugged the headphones, ran the radio app, plugged in the headphone as prompted, found a station, listened to it, went to the music player, started a song playing and went back and closed the radio app - song still playing!
Great! Got to hear a few tunes then ... 'Accessory not supported' message and silence :-(
In conclusion, the hardware works and there is an intermittent workaround. Watch this space

  • Nokia Maps/ N95: Support for network links?

    Hello,
I have a GPS tracker device I would like to monitor in Nokia N95's maps. On PC I am using Google Maps with a network link, to see it's position in real time.
Does Nokia Maps support network links like in Google Earth?
Feel free to try - here's a sample URL from TrackingTheWorld:

The beta has been out for your phone for a while now and licenses from previous versions do work with the beta.
You need to ask about availability of the final product on the maps 3 beta forum.  You will most likely will not get an official answer here.

    Dear Nokia and all,
The OVI suite  3.1.1.80 still can't sync Nokia Map v3.08 on my N8. Once I press the map button in OVI suite and it show an error message " Please restart your PC. If the problem can't be solved, please download the latest version OVI suite."

The problem started on Ovi suite 3.1.1.80 and continues on 3.1.1.85 - reinstalling Ovi doesn't help.
    I use N8 with 014.002 system.
