  • Flash sms

    hi friends..
i have some questions about flash sms. i have 2 nokia phones.
    one 5610 & 1200 ,
in 5610 there is an option about sending flash sms in my messages menu, and i can easily send flash sms to every one i want. but i wanna know how to send flash sms using other phones like 1200 & etc... for example entring a command line in my smses or other ways to send flash sms with phones that doesn't have a flash sms option in menu ..
thank you for paying attention to me

    Hi there
Unfortunately there is no special code/command you can type into a normal phone to make it send as a flash sms.
Flash sms works by sending the sms in a special format over the network and if the receiving phone supports it it will display as expected directly on the standby screen.
Best you get some more 5610's if you plan to use this with your friends

Sorry if it is not the proper subcategory to write this but i have a problem and googling did not help me a lot.
I have been receiving strange (flash) SMS in the following format:
    +79191842703
    1284458220 1 64.
    3953609551353

    +38057593335
    1286453254 1 536

the first line is the number that sent the SMS. As found in one forum the first other digits are UNIX Timestamp.
I Hard-Resetted my Nokia N82 but still keep receiving such SMSs from time to time.
Is it a Virus? Do these SMSs keep track of my activity? What should i do?

  • Flash SMS?! iPhone hacked???

    Dear Apple Community,
I just received something called "Flash SMS" with a weird text in it. Something like "We r u now? m"
I googled this and found out that this was, as I called it before, a flash SMS. Will this mean my iPhone is hacked? It's a totally NOT jailbroken iPhone 4S with iOS 6.0.1.
What I have to do now? Backup, Reset everything and restore from backup?
I'm actually a bit worry about this... :/
It looked like this: (THIS IS A GOOGLE PIC, not my case. I forgot to made a screenshot, I was too worried.)

Omg thanks guys! I thought my iPhone was hacked or something, because some minutes ago a strange person (dialed the wrong number, he told me that) called me. (With a normal phonenumber for my country.) So everthing is fine?

  • N80 - Composing SMS

Does anyone have a fix for the following bug, or had any contact with Nokia in regards to it.
I have a Nokia N80 on Three. Had 2 handsets already and my 2nd handset has already had the firmware upgraded (this was done less than a week ago) and a fault with the phone losing the connection with memory card fixed (this hasn't been completely fixed but better than it was before it was sent away for repair).
When I compose an SMS, sometimes when write a long SMS the text starts dissapearing off the left hand side of the page. It's like the phone doesn't recognise the margins. This happens every 2 or 3 texts usually closing the sms down and starting again from the drafts folder works.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Firmware version
    V 3.0618.0.2
    23-05-2006
    RM-92
    Nokia N80 (45.02)

wow this is a new one!!!!!!!!!!
ok this is my personal advice to you guys....
1.get the phone unlocked- ive found that unlocked phones seem to work better than network locked phones...my n80 is unlocked and half of the problems on this site i have never experienced and the ones i did was only once or twice(bluetooth connection & wifi or lack thereof...) only other problem that remains in that my catalogs wont load....(any advice??)
    2. get your phone flashed...this is an operation that DOES NOT UPGRADE your firmware but stabilizes it....but it comes with a huge risk....which is that nokia will not flash your phone thus by doing so you will void the warranty....(decisions decisions)
my phone was bought unlocked so ive never encountered these problems.....
oh and do it in the order i told you unlock then flash...
but please reply to me and let me know what youve done and if the problem has been solved.....

  • SMS Flash appeared to iPhone 5

Hi, My wife had an (I quess it is) Flash SMS in her iPhone 5 this morning. Unfortunately I did not take a photo of it but it was something like "Gongratulations - you have won xxxxxxx$" Text was longer and it had an address and an e-mail with it.
The thing that worries me - is that there were only one button below the message "OK".
Pressing the home button - did not this message disappear nor did the closing and opening the display again. I pressed the OK and the message disappeared.
Is there a possibility that the phone was hijacked?
Phone is running with ios7 with 7.0.2 upgrade.

Thank you for you quick respond. As I said - there was only one button to be pressed - which I did. That was the OK button. I do not know if that was a link of some kind. Anyway the message disappeared.
I'm an ICT reseller myself and do know something about what can be done and what not.
I could have tried to boot the phone but I did not this time. That regret's me.
I did change the Appstore password as we have the same account just in case.
Would be interested to see/hear if someone else has received similar message.
I tried to google this but did not find any similar - not from the conversations or pictures.

can i transfet data from my mobile to a server?
    nokia n80(flash lite 1.1)

If I understand your question correctly—you want to do

protected access to a Web site? Is that of the mark?

  • Sending command to a mobile phone blugged into a pc to send an sms

    hi.
i am new to this field, but i heard of "at command" that are helpful to control the mobile phone from a pc. And Java supports this...
    this is the case:
1- a mobile with a valid sim card is connected via USB with the pc.
2- an application is running at the pc (java application)
on this application we need to add a module/class that sends command "at command" to our connected mobie with 2 parameters:
    1- the phone number
    2- the message
MyClass.sendViaMobile("+962795940824", "we want to inform you that u got the help :-)");what i need is how to start this, what do i need to know, and what api's i need to use

    hi mlk
i found the rxtx api, but i got now a question,
how to connect to a usb port?
it seems that it is easy to deal with com port or serial port, but until this moment usb didnt work,
in my case, the mobile is connected via usb port.
this a code that uses the RXTX API, whaere do i need to modify to connect using usb?
*note, the following code is written by someone else, it works via com port...

  • N80 Calendar - very very poor...

I use my phone for business. Yes I love my music ( as a professional musician) and my photography (just won a Nokia photo competition - go to http://www.lonelyplanet.nokia.co.uk/may_winners.html)
BUT...and it's a big BUT... why have they given their latest flagship all-rounder the N80, such a dreadful excuse for a calendar? I use my calendar all the time on my trusty 6230i (with 1gb mmc) - I can search through my address book to add meeting recipients and send them calendar appointments AS a calendar entry so like a business card they simply accept the appointment and it goes straight into their calendar WITH an alarm reminder when necessary.
Not so with the N80. It's all very well the N80 being a performing Monkey but what's the point for serious users if it can't do standard business basics?....

    wow, someone agreed with you!
What both of you neglected to notice was that as the original poster, I never said the N80 was a "business phone"...you implied it by saying it wasn't (it is in fact a Smartphone and as such there are certain business applications expectations). You then described the calendar basics - as on the 6230i -(again, not a "business phone")as "extra functionality". Hmm, so you feel a facility that came as standard on a phone from early last year is now "extra functionality" on a recent flagship release. It is described on Nokia's N80 flash-site start page as empowering one "to pursue your personal and professional goals" and on the productivity page says "Stay on top of your workload even when you're out of the office. The Nokia N80 comes equipped with calendar, contacts, task list, email and PIM too". I don't think it's too much of a leap to assume from this that this recent phone will have at least the same level of functionality for basics such as calendar that previous non-business phones had and that some level of business use will be had from it.
Your comment on intadon's post describing a usable calendar as an additional application shows me your grasp of the subject.
For those interested and who make appointments with friends and business persons, the Nokia S60 developers site offers no improvements to the calendar as yet. We shall see.
