N80 mess up by update

My N80 is mess up. I updated it firmware back in December just before Xmas i nearly lost all my contacts but i lucky backed it up b4 i did the update. Now the update keeps confusing my phone with folders in the file system. I have a contact that i added to my phone but it confused that with another number i has a 300 at the end of the contact number but i have search it and i can't find another number that is exactly the same as that number. when i received a text or a call it don't show the contact name with that number it shows the number instead i know this means i have 2 ppl the same number but i don't i went thru every contact......which took a while.
So is there anyway u can get my phone back to restore before then update i can't restore it using Pc Suite. I also don't want to master reset in case i lose all my msg and contact and files etc.....
Can u guys provide me with some software to update my contacts and files etc...

My search bar is messed up after update. I want the old drop down menu back. I can't search for anything now. Firefox is absolutely useless to me now.

Firefox software update appeared. I allowed it to be installed. It screwed up the search bar/box. I use to be able to click on the magnifying glass icon and ALL the search engine options would appear and I could easily chose one. It was easy. Now nothing. I cannot search anything through Firefox. Firefox is useless to me now, which means I have no computer. Do I have to go out and spend another $1000 to get a new computer? This is not right. You should not do this to a person. So, just for you so called brilliant Stanford types, when I click on the magnifying glass icon or the little, inverted triangle, there is nothing. The search bar is blank. Blank, blank, blank. Mac Mini rez is messed up after update....

I have last gen C2D Mac Mini hooked to my 37" 720 LG TV through the DVI > HDMI. I only use the Mini for music and movies though NetFlix etc. Last night I did updates to OSX etc and after reboot my rez is all messed up. Apple toolbar just slightly off screen and I can't seem to find the proper rez. Before the Mini set itself automatically to the LG's rez, but not no more....but it does see it is connected to a LG TV.
Any ideas?

I'm going to suggest the obvious...
It looks like overscan what you are experiencing and it happens to be a new option under System Preferences>>Displays>>Options>>Overscan. Set it to on for DVD's, off for everything else.

N80 is dead on update

I have an N80 with this firmware: 4.0623.0.41 and product code 0529380. Probably is german import. I'm italian. Wiht NSU I try to update it to the last firmware 4.0707.... but after the NSU says me to unplug and plug the battery the phone doesn't switch on. Now N80 is in a Care Point. My product code (0529380) include italian language or I'll lost it?

If you are taken to a Nokia care point then what is the issue they will fix it.
Its strange, NSU asking tp Unplud and Plug battery !! I have nver seen that.., Probabbly did you update with a low battery ?

X201 pen and touch are kind of messed up since update

Hi guys,
few days ago i updated my system (x201 tablet w/ multitouch) with lenovo's update utility and installed all the normal windows7 updates. And a lot was messed up since then. most of it i could fix with google, or re-installing the drivers.. but here are two things i couln't fix, and I hope someone could help.
Note: I've got the latest drivers installed and re-installed them several times.
Before I start here are some changes I recognized.
In my Systempanel under the category "Hardware and Sound" there are two new things wich wasn't there before. One is called "Touch-Properties" and the otherone "Pen Tablet-Properties".
1.)
I am not able to re-calibrate my touchscreen. If I do it as I was used to following happens:
- I am opening "Tablet PC-Properties" from the system Panel -> Hardware and sound.
- pressing "calibration" for Touch
- I get the error Mesage: "A supportet touchscreen was not found on the system."
Multitouch is still working. but is a little off. So I wish i could calilbrate it.
2.)
My Pen behaves like a mouse. Wich means the eraser does not work. And the pen-button behaves differently. When I press the button while i am hovering over the screen. It produces a right click.
When I am pressing the pen down, no right click circle appears.
Anyway, when I want to calibrate my pen following happens:
- I am opening "Tablet PC-Properties" from the system Panel -> Hardware and sound.
- pressing "calibration" for pen
- the "Pen Tablet-Properties" program opens (same as the new one i mentioned before).
Now i can calibrate my Pen with this new software (which is Version 7.0.2-19 btw.)
In this Program I can change some settings, like:
-- Activate Eraser or how the right-click should behave (hovering or click&touch).
It doesn't matter what i enable or disable, my pen behavoir does not change.
It still behaves like a normal mouse. Which is PRETTY anoying when you use "Journal" or "OneNote".
does anyone has an idea how to fix it? I hope my problem description was kind of understandable and not too confusing :-)
I even tried to downgrade my divers, but i couldn't find any old ones.

I ALMOST fixed the pen-problem.
Read somewhere to download the "Tablet-PC" Drivers from WACOM Hompage (isd701-8_int.exe), which i did.
Now at least the pen works like a pen again (which means... eraser and right click now works like it supposed to. BUT:
I am still not able to re-calibrate pen and touch...still get: A supportet touchscreen was not found on the system.
And now "Pen Tablet Properties" is now shown as: "ISD Tablet Properties". And when i try to open it i get an error: "No Tablett driver found".

Ok. I solved it.
for all who encouter the same stuff here is how I did it:
- deinstall drivers ONCE AGAIN!
(I went to: control panel, deinstall, ISD Tablett drivers, restart)
- Then I deleted the folder "C:\program files\Tablett" in there are the driver remainings which wasn't deleted through the deinstall.
- To be sure I went to Hardware-Manager. On the top there was an unknown device, wich is the just deinstalled Wacom multitouch device. I deinstalled it once again though the Hardware-Manager (which is probably useless... nevertheless this is what I did).
After another restart I installed the newest multitouch drivers (7.02-19) which i downloaded from lenovos homepage... DO NOT USE LENOVOS UPDATE TOOL.. It didn't work for me.
After the install, another quick restart and violá it worked. :-)
Pen and Touch works. I can calibrate everything and can open Touch and Pen preferences in control-panel.

My N80 died after Software Update

Today I used Nokia Software Update to check for new firmware for my N80, version V 3.0617.0.6 03-05-206 RM-92.
I connected the phone via USB and launched the update procedure which detected a new version for the firmware. After I allowed the update procedure the FW was downloaded from the net and the phone update started. Just a minute after the phone died, the USB connection stopped and now the phone is dead, black screen, off. No way to switch it on. Please give me indication about how to solve the problem.

Try taking the battery out - waiting for 30 seconds and then put the battery back in and try switching the phone back on - does that work ? Remember that if the phone does start working, all your data will have been deleted as part of the upgrade process and you should restore the data you previously saved.
If taking the battery out didn't work then you will have to take your phone to a Nokia Service Centre for them to "recover" the phone for you.

[SOLVED] Keyboard repeat messed up after update to Xorg 1.6

Did anyone else notice the keyboard repeat rate and delay changed after the update to Xorg 1.6? It takes longer to start repeating and the rate is lower (at least in a terminal). This happens both in xmonad (started through xinit) and KDE (started through gdm).
xset q has the same output in both xorg 1.5.3 and 1.6:
auto repeat delay: 660 repeat rate: 25
The weird thing is, I don't think this is the true delay and repeat rate in effect when using xorg 1.5.3 -- it reacts much faster than that.
After the update to xorg 1.6, I started KDE (though I seldom use it) and played around with the keyboard settings in the 'SystemSettings' control panel. I guess the delay closest to the old one is about 300.
Does anyone know how to get the old settings back? I had to downgrade to 1.5.3, since this drives me nuts.
EDIT: Doing xset 250 25 helps a bit, but doesn't feel quite right.

Maybe one of those CoreKeyboard definitions is redundant.
For that I'd have to also add Option "AutoAddDevices" "off" to ServerLayout.
That's not really the problem, I was using evdev with xorg 1.5.3 and everything was fine. What I'd like to know is, what was the default delay and repeat rate in xorg 1.5.3, so I can set it in xorg 1.6.0 (with xset or something).

Updated mess! I updated my I4s to ios 7.0.2 and it deleted all my videos, apps and songs! Tried to get them back but said I had to buy them all! UGH! I tried to reinstall but says it is up to date! Please help!

Messed up since update

Ever since a couple days ago, Spoitfy desktop is not working right for me. Whenever I am on one of my playlists, or even on radio, and the song I am listening to ends, it will skip to a random song on my "Liked from Radio" playlist. I can go back to Radio, and it will play the next song, but I cannot keep going like this. I have playlists that I like to listen to in a specific order, or I just want to listen to Radio, and it will not let me. I recently deleted some songs from my "Liked from Radio" playlist, and I did this after the update. I have tried quitting Spotify and restarting it, but that didn't help. Is this a problem for anyone else, and what can I do?

In order to solve your problem, there are two methods that can be used... (1 easy one that may not work, and 1 harder one that almost certainly will)
#1- Simply uninstall Spotify, and then reinstall it and hope for the best!
#2- Using the links below, install a previous version of the Spotify client, (at the link below, and go under the "Old Versions" dropdown) and then follow the instructions in the pic attached to disable the update function of the program.
Hope this wasn't too difficult to follow, and if you need further assistance, just let me know. Hope this helped!

Settings totally messed up after updating to 5.0 so I want to restore back to 3.6, at least for now. How?

Using XP Pro, sp2. When using 3.6 I was able to visit websites and was often redirected by them to other pages on the site. I upgraded to 5.0 and could still reach the main pages, but now many sites are unable to redirect me to another page. For example, I could easily reach my bank's credit card page, but when I want to pay a bill online, the page redirects me to another page. It tries to open that page but fails every time, saying that Firefox can't establish a connection with that server. It suggests that I check the settings that firefox uses to connect to the internet.
This happens with any page that any website tries to refer me to. My bank is ignoring me, citing security, and my ISP says they can't help -its a problem with Firefox, probably in the update.
Is it possible to kill 5.0 and restore back to 3.6, where everything worked, and I could pay my bills (and do other things.)? Thanks. (newbie here)

Due to security vulnerabilities, rolling back to Firefox 4.0.1 is not recommended. Firefox 3.6.18 would be the safer choice.
Here's the process to roll back:
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
Close Firefox 5.
You could install Firefox 3.6 over it (many have reported success) or you could uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.
Note: I haven't actually tried this myself!

My contacts are messed up after updating iOS5

After i updated to iOS5 my contacts that also updated to iOS5 only show up as their numbers instead of their contact name when i text them. How do i fix that?

I think its an iOS5 problem, cause exact same issue with my iphone after installing iOS5.

My pdf files are messed up since updating to lion os.

I cannot edit certain boxes in my pdf files anymore since the update. I use to be able to do whatever I wanted before the update.

Are the files "locked"? If so, you may need to "unlock" them first. In the Finder, duplicate some of the PDF files and test it. Don't use Duplicate in Preview.

Nokia N80 Internet Edition Software Update Issue

I would like to express my disappointment for the poor service that Nokia has given me. I purchased a Nokia cellphone because I believed it was a reliable company. Nokia is operating in a global world, promoting online upgrades internationally. This does not rely on borders, and yet, on the ground Nokia is inflexible and has not responded to the mobile global population. Despite being within the warranty period, I have to pay a considerable sum of money to fix a problem caused by the online upgrades that Nokia promote.
I used the New Zealand Nokia website to update my Nokia N80i software, and the message on my PC said that the update was completed successfully. When I tried to use the phone there was a message on the screen telling me to contact my retailer. From then on my problems started.
I called the New Zealand Nokia call centre (where I live) and I explained the problem and they advised me to go to the nearest care center, and I did that. As this unit was purchased from abroad (Singapore), I was advised that as the New Zealand care centre is unable to service my Nokia N80i.
I was told to send the phone to a Nokia Care Centre in Singapore because they would have the current issue on hand. Even though the fault was caused by the computer updates, I was informed that the issue would need to meet Nokia's warranty guidelines and be within its warranty period (my phone was under the warranty period at the time) for the repair to be covered under warranty. In any case, I had to cover all handling charges such as courier charges. Having received this advice I paid for the phone (with warranty card) to be couriered to Singapore.
Nokia NZ told me if the phone has been posted to the care centre in Singapore, I should tell them IMEI Number, Date of Purchase, Airway Bill / Consignment Number - which I did.
I then went through a very painful process of dealing with Customs Singapore regarding GST charges. Before it left customs (as I didn't want to pay GST on an item I wasn't importing into Singapoer), I received a call from the Singapore care center advising me that they cannot fix my phone as it is from the Hong Kong market (even though it was purchased in Singapore!!!!) I'm not sure how they could tell me this now (when they hadn't received the phone in Singapore) as they couldn't tell me this when the phone was in New Zealand.
They now said I needed to send it to Hong Kong instead. I told them I could not afford to pay anymore money as I already spent lots to send the phone to them, only to have it return to New Zealand at my cost (which happened when I didn't pay the excessive GST charges).
Nokia then told me to throw my phone in the rubbish and forget about it because they are not responsible for it.
This whole process was ludicrous. The phone was working fine before I tried to use the online update feature, and yet, Nokia refuse to take responsibility for the faults caused by their updates.
Right now I am left with a dead phone. Can anybody help me to fix it?

I am very sorry to hear about your predicament. I always keep my fingers and toes crossed when I update firmware as it can be a risky exercise.
Nokia warranties are usually only valid in the country the phone is meant for, except for European phones where the warranty is valid all over Europe.
