N80 phone recovery

Every time i try to update my n80 with nsu the phone recovery message comes up. I take out the battery and charger, put them back in and select pc suite on the phone, then click retry in nsu. The same problem then happens again. How can i update the n80?

What firmware version do you already have on your N80?

Can't seem to install Windows Phone Recovery Tool

I'm trying to install WP Recovery Tool because while I loved the Windows 10 preview for phones, the no cellular data is a no-no for me.
Every time I try to install the recovery tool, I keep getting 0x80072efd- Unspecified Error.
Any suggestions?

Unable to install Windows Phone Recovery Tool.

during an installation of Windows Phone Recovery Tool 1.2.4 (downloaded from official source), I get a message about error 0x80070002. All requirements seems to be fulfilled (disk space, OS version etc.).
I want to install WPRT to make a downgrade from Win10 beta to Win 8.1.
I tired to use this solution - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/910336/ - but it didn't work.

My Phone is Lumia 1020 and I had Denim 8.1 Update latest version on my phone. But While using It was freezing and crashing, Then I've used Windows Phone Recovery Tool and Now It works smooth and perfect but It has returned to Windows 8 Amber (Update 2, OS version: 8.0.10328.78).
I want to update to Denim or at least Cyan. Now I'm checking for updates but every time It says 'Your phone is up to date'. It's not showing any updates, So how do I update my phone now ?

I have an N80 phone and I am looking for Adobe PDf reader for it. I can't seem to find one. I tried to download one from Adobe.com but the application wasn't compatible.

Anyway, you can get it at http://www.nokia-asia.com/nokia/0,,90776,00.html. Its Adobe Reader LE 1.5 for E Series, but works on my N80.

Lumia 520 bricked by Windows Phone Recovery Tool

So I'd installed win10 preview for my lumia 520 and it was not good enough for my daily using and i tried to downgrad it. there was an instruction after starting to flash that hol power key and volume - for 3 or 15 seconds and when you felt vibration hit the button to start the process...
i'd tried it but my phone didnt restart...even i hod them for about 2minutes but nothing will happen just blank screen.
when i used windows phone recovery it find my phone but it shows an error that restart your phone and try again
Recovery tool said operation unsuccessful. Red screen with NOKIA written.
what's your suggestion?

I have a replacement i phone 5 and I forgot my password for i phone recovery backup.

If you made a backup and chose to encrypt it with a password, if you do not remember that password, then you cannot use that backup any longer. There is no way to recover or reset that password. Your only choice is to restore from an older backup if one exists, or to set up as a new device.

Need GPS for Nokia N80 Phone???

I have Nokia N80 phone and would like to use it as a GPS for traveling. Does anyone here know how or tell me what do I need? Is it just a software or I need the whole GPS device with its software? Hope to hear from someone here soon with good recommendation about GPS device working with Nokia N80 phone.

Have you checked the Nokia map application is compatible with external an GPS? That's only around £50 for a 3 year subscription to turn-by-turn, which is actually not too bad a deal compared with TomTom and Route66.
Alternatively, the two best know products are TomTom and Route66. If you're planning to use them in the UK only, then I believe (I've never tried it) that TomTom is a better product.
If you're planning to use the GPS in Europe, then (IMO) you have to go with Route66 rather than TomTom as TomTom's European bundle only includes City-to-City directions. To my mind, that's worse than useless: it helps you on the easy bits (the motorways) then gives up the minute you actually need it, namely in towns.
I have the Route66 Europe bundle and it has full coverage for the countries it includes.
Route66 works very well on my N80 and was easy to install. There are quite a few posts on here from people who've had trouble getting TomTom up and running, but once it's working I believe it does a good job.

Blinking problem with Nokia N80 phone

Hello,
My J2ME application is blinking when scrolling within a textbox, when changing focus between items...
my application wotks fine with other phone: nokia 7710.
By blinking i mean that when you switch focus or scroll it always shows a white artifacts.
any ideas?

N80 phone locks up when sending SMS

Hi!
When I first got the phone I had no problems, but lately my phone has started locking up when I send a SMS message. It stays "locked" (nothing works and it doesn't react to pushing any bottons) for 2-3min until it sends the SMS. Anyone has a similar problem? It is very annoying since you can't use the phone during these 2-3 minutes
I'd appreciate any help

Also a hard reset solved the problem on mine. Just make sure you have a back up of all the contacts etc and don't rely on the backup phone memory as my N80 doesn't do it. I had to restore using PCSuite.
Oh and you can't end Standby either it doen't do anything.

N96-phone recovery-PLS HELP--URGENT

You better keep truing as instructed. you you completely exit the update program you wont be able to recovr your nokia anymore.
IVOR you shouldn't advise people who's update went wrong to disconnect it and reinstall the program! This way they will never be able to recover the Phone.
I just updated my n96 and it went wrong too. the only thing the phone did when i turned it on was flashing with the back light and back off again and again. The only way you can fix your faulty update is to do exactly as told in the software.
First put back in the USB cable then the battery and then the charger. then press the on/off button for 1 sec. then retry on the program
If you do this right you wont see anything happen to your phone.. it stays black and wont start up. on your computer screen you wont see that the phone has been reconnected. But now the update bar of the nokia updater will go on. and finish the update and try to recover the phone. When its finished the phone will start up and go into test mode. after the test is complete it will startup.
I once had the problem that the telephone hang on test mode and it still was after 10 minutes. if this happens pull out the usb cable and instantly put it back in. this way the usb will be reconnected to your computer and the phone will finish the test.
NEVER I SAY NEVER ! force quit the update program when the phone is off and the update has failed. As the phone is still in the standby menu while updating then there is not much that can happen. for it has not began updating yet.

N80 SOFTWARE PHONE UPDATER PROBLEM

Just to clarify further:
I attempted to download a software update for my N80 phone. It seems as if I had not actually completed the software download, and I now realise this after re-tracing the steps I took. What was left on the phone I remember was a ".sis" file.
I followed your advice yesterday.... I in fact reset the phone memory... to no avail. The same problem exists with the phone i.e. unable to access certain features eg. Gallery; extremely slow response to pressing keys on the phone. What should I do??
1) Should I attempt from scratch to download the update from the Nokia site to my phone again??
2) Should I just take it to a phone store and attempt to repair it??
3) Does it seem I have permanently damaged the phone - aarrgghh!

Unfortunately things are not looking good. Firstly try leaving battery out for 5 minutes and then replace.
Secondly you might like to look at post from nando61 just input "N93 update fix" into "Search Discussions" at top right of screen. Although different S60 phone to yours, it seems to be a question of whether NSU can be "tricked" into reading phone so that software can be re-loaded.
It appears to have worked on an N70, N73 and N93 so far apart from loss of data unfortunately!
It may however be a small price to pay if you have a "bricked" "N" Series and a visit to a Nokia Service Centre neither practical or feasible.
Happy to have helped forum in a small way with a Support Ratio = 37.0

N80 Big problem

Hi there, I was updateing my N80 using the NSU to takr it from V 4.0623.041 to V5.0719.0.2
When it came up Phone recovery, remove battery & then put battery back in & charger, press power button for a few seconds which I did but now the phone does not start at all.
Help please.....

If your phone refuses to start try the following.
Firstly take the battery out for 5 minutes and then replace and see if that makes any difference.
Then try the "3 finger deep reset" which is depress these three keys simultaneously "*" "3" "green phone" and then power on phone whilst keeping those same three keys depressed until you hear start-up tone.
This should ONLY be done if the device doesn't power up normally anymore and it wipes everything in the Phone memory that is not part of the ROM.
