N80 Update in Canada
I purchased my N80 in the UK a week after they came on release. I have since moved to canada where they don't sell the N80 (or any other half decent phones ) Does it matter if I update with UK or US firmware, is there a difference? any thoughts or suggestions would be great!

Your current geographic location does not matter as you would get the default firmware as manufactured via the NSU for your device.
Not sure if I'd want to update as it can be risky and you'll have to fly back to the UK for a repair if something goes wrong as your local service centres will point blank refuse to touch it.

hii people could someone plzz tell me how do i reverse my N80 update. I updated my N80 yesterday to V5.0719.0.2 dated 24-5-2007. I m from India. After updating i noticed dat a new internet edition folder was available. But wen i went o my music player, the Equaliser has become terrible. Unfortunately you can't downgrade your software with Nokia Software Updater and it is not part of Nokia Care Point remit to provide this service.

N80 update problem!!!

I need help regarding updating my N80 otherwise it will continue to sleep in the drawer....
I bought an N80 3 days ago but it was really really slow. After reading the forums I learnt that I may update it.
Checked my ver. it was 3.06...
I installed PC Suite 6.84 and NSU from Nokia site. Then;
PC suite takes ages to connect to my phone via USB original cable from the box. At last it says, found but icon on the bottom left in PCS says no connection, anyway when I click update software via PCs it runs NSU and starts to update.
At first, NSU found latest firmware for my phone is V5.07 and downloaded something like 64.8 MB then started to update my phone on the next step but I never touched the phone or the pc but when the status bar was about %80, suddenly NSU gave the message "connection to phone lost" then on the next step it said, remove the battery then replace then click retry, I did it but then I got the message, update cancelled.
Then when the phone opened it was showing the new version but I think it is not completely updated because when I hit menu button, or multimedia button a blank screen comes, then phone restarts...
I tried to update again and again, always the same...
Do you have any proposal? (I will take to to service this weekend)

but when I try to proceed it says that it's not avilable !
but the disaster was when I visit the Nokia Service senter at syria-hama- Mabco "I get the adress from Nokia website" they said that the new N80 is Music Edition and there is No Internet Edition??????!!!!!!!
any way you can't install the framewre of the "N80 Music on the Normal On" !!!!!

1. Updates
Menu->Connect->Dev Mgr displays version as 4.0623.0.41
Options->Check for update results in "Unable to authenticate, check userid/password"
2. Wifi
At home (WEP128) the connection seems to be less stable. On a number of attempts to connect ie when starting browser, phone says "wlan not found". A reboot seemed to cure it... but a little concerned
3. Web
The "planet3" key (right hand menu key on standby) browser seems to be improved, although remains different from the "web" browser
4. Install of unknown files
I have a 128Mb miniSD. Everytime the phone boots I get "installing ..." followed by errors about being unable to install "a000078d.sys" etc, but cannot find them on the mem. card (looking via phone/pcsuite, need to try with card reader) -

I am using nokia n80 V4.0632.0.47.already tried 100 times to update my phone with NSU to make 4.0632.0.38.my Nsu is decacting avalible verison and downloading but while installing to my phone it restarts phone and then saying remove battry and then click try again this repites all the time.Contact a repair centre. Yep - my UK Orange phone has just updated! Hoorah!!
Now to re-tinker with all my settings - for those unsure the V4 update does a factory reset on the phone, loosing all contacts etc, so heed all those warnings from Nokia!
Well done to all the techie guys behind the scenes, I know they can't have an easy job.

That's strange - I can't remember the default behaviour, but if you have only one line then I think one of the spools (the one on the left) should be full or if you have line 2 then the one on the right should be full, but I can't rememeber exactly because I've never had a line 2 so never had to worry about it !

N80 3.0617.0.6 Firmware
Hi all, hi Karim,
I know you locked the previous thread about N80 firmware, it was also a bit broad and started getting off topic (sorry for falling in that trap sometimes too).
As I had reported, I was going to get my N80 updated today to latest firmware and the service center did it in a few minutes. Of course I backed up everything onto my memory card, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that after the update, everything was still intact. Just a few settings had been reverted, but otherwise, all good.
The update (I had the original 3.0614.0.3 before) seems to have done some good. I've only had the update since midday but I havent gotten "Out of Memory" errors yet (despite trying), I havent tried using WiFi and the Browser so cant say if those errors are corrected.
Nonetheless, I feel its very very very slightly more sluggish than before. Maybe just an impression and a stressful day.
I'd like for this thread to remain active if possible for people to discuss about THIS VERSION of the firmware only and potential problems they are having with it.
Also worth mentioning, I don't have an Orange N80, its a provider-free phone.

I just took a picture (1.1MB) and I sent it to my G5 via bluetooth and it DID NOT STOP at 263kb as it always usually did!

Unable to update apps...message reads "Account not valid in US". The iPad was purchased in Canada, but for some reason, my account address shows me in US. How do I update to Canada?
Change to the correct store this way.
Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Apple ID
Tap your ID
Tap View Apple ID
Enter your password
Go to country/region in the popup window to change the store.
Or swipe down to he bottom of the App Store in the featured tab and tap on your Apple ID. Sign out of your ID and then sign in again and see if that changes the store for you. -

We are currently doing yearend SAP note updates for Canada and need clarification on Canada Year End SAP Note : 1658938 and 1662043 .
SAP Note : 1658938 is with yearend delta transports which needs to be applied ,but it is mentioned that we need to apply all Year End related notes released on or before December 15th before applying the Delta transports.
My query is that Note 1662043 released on 12/12/2011 whether this needs to be applied before or after applying delta transports mentioned in 1658938
Pls help us on this .

I wrongly changed the settings on the apps page to the American store. Now I cannot download any updates because I am locked out and need to revert back to the Canadian store, how do I do that
Try going to the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app on your iPad and tap on your account id, tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account, and then select the Country/Region section and select Canada.

After moving from Canada to the US, getting a new iPhone 5C, and restoring my backup from iCloud, I can't update my apps. I get an error message that my account is not valid in the Canadian App store and I must change to the US store. How do I do that?

Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID: > View Apple ID > Country/Region.
You must have a verified billing address & be located in the country whose store you are trying to use. -
Why can't I update the iphoto app on my mac (says not available in Canada)?
When I click on my iphoto it says it cannot open because it needs to be updated, yet when I try to update it in the App store it says it is not available in my region (Canada). This makes no sense, why shouldn't I be able to have/use iPhoto anymore?

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.
