N80 - What am i missing doing
hi
i have an N80 - which i am happy with, but i sometimes wonder what i should be doing with it.
i use it for..
phone calls, messaging, the odd appointment, photos and some videoing - and i have tomtom on it... but what else can i do? what else would i want to do?
There's a whole heap of other stuff you can use it for ! :
1) Surfing the internet via WiFi
2) Listening to music - replace your iPod !
3) Listen to the radio !
4) Reading ebooks on the way to work (unless you drive)
5) Use it as a webcam (http://motvik.com/download.php)
6) Play games or find an interesting application to run on it : http://www.softwaremarket.nokia.com/
7) Use it as your alarm clock
Now, as with the N95, a better question would be - what can't I do with it ?
1) It can't make the tea
2) It can't hold a meaningful conversation in its own right
3) You can't have kids with it
So as you can see, a scientific demonstration therefore has shown there are more things you can do with the N80 than what you can NOT do.

No Mirroring in Ipad 2?

Devices/Printers tile does not appear, what am I missing??
This is a Windows Server 2012 R2 Remote Desktop Host environment.
Devices and Printers tile created and placed underneath 'Desktop'
Configured a custom Start menu using the XML file method and setting its location in Group Policy, I can see 'Devices and Printers' in the XML file.
Set polcies to allow access to Control Panel and to show ONLY Devices and Printers.
Did gpupdate /force on the DC and on the RDS host wherein I'm testing, logged in as a test user.
The D and P tile is still not showing on Start screen nor does it show in Apps list...
D and P can be found with Search but that is clunky...
What am I missing to make this tile visible to users?? (I even tried re-creating the test user)

I did a test and it seems that we can't deploy the tile of Devices and Printers via group policy setting
Start Screen Layout. The reason behind this may be due to the fact that the AppID of the Devices and Printers in the exported start layout file is not a set one. We can compare the AppIDs of the Devices and Printers after exporting
the screen layout files with two different user accounts.

I have a slide with 6 smart shapes that I am using as buttons. If I select include in quiz, the On Success branch does not execute. If I deselect include in quiz, the On Success branch executes. What am I missing?
What setting do you have in Quiz > Settings > Required? If it's not set to Optional, do that.

I'm able to transfer iPhotos from Mac to MacPro but data I've added to photos does not transfer. What am I missing? Tried using Thunderbolt, AirDrop, Flash drive with no success. Do I have to use iCloud for 800 vacation photos or re-enter all the data after transfer?
There is no support for mirroring or syncing iPhoto libraries or Aperture libraries. You can however export partial Aperture libraries on one mac and merge them into other libraries on a second Mac.
To transfer your edited photos open your photolibrary in Aperture and and collect the edited photos in an album. Then select the album and use the command "File export > Album as new library". This will export all edited photos as a new Aperture library. Copy this library to your other Mac and import it with "File < Import > Library to your other photolibrary on that computer (assuming you are having the same Aperture version on both macs). When merging the new library into your Aperture library, opt to keep the newer versions from the imported library. iPhoto 9.5.1 will be able to open these merged Aperture 3.5.1 libraries. -
We have three computers (two pcs and one mac) on our home sharing network. When I buy a song on my pc it is automatically downloading it to my husband's pc - but not my daugher's mac. The settings on each library do not indicate any items should automatically download. What am I missing here? This is a relatively recent thing I just noticed. It was not always happening in this way. Help. Both pcs are on Windows 7. Thanks in advance for any help. My husband and I don't always like the same songs so I need help to get back to marital bliss....
I think I found the answer to my own problemin case anyone experienced the same thing. There is a separate spot in itunes under preferences to allow for automatic downloads from other devices. It seems unrelated to home sharing. I unchecked the boxes under the "store" section and that appears to have taken care of the issue.

I am trying to insert a cutaway photo into a movie clip. The cuaway photo appears over the clip and will appear in the clip when you manually moce the curser across it, but will not appear in the clip during playback. What am I missing?
Try using the SHARE menu to share your movie in the sizes you need. It should work on the shared copy.
Another thing to try would be to restart your Mac so you have fresh memory. -

I'm not new to using SCCM, but i'm VERY new to setting up and managing it. I have just laid it down for the school district that I manage, and i'm loving it. Imaging is going great, all but one thing now...drivers installing.
Let me tell you what I've been doing, so hopefully a kind soul out there can tell me where my logic of the driver "injection" process is lacking and might can fill in some gaps.
I downloaded all drivers pertaining to the 7-8 series of computers we have in our environment currently, and imported them based on a criteria such as this:
x86.LenovoEdge71.Desktop
x86.DellOpti755.Desktop
so forth and so on
I created packages based on the same exact naming scheme. I update my distribution point at the end of the import, and all the drivers/packages/categories are in place. When I go to Monitoring/Distribution Status/Content Status, all of my packages
show up , but under targeted it says 0.
My thoughts from reading online, is I upload all these drivers and during my task sequence where it says it's "applying device drivers" it's set to "install only the best matched compatible drivers" and "consider drivers from all
categories". I also checked "do unattended installation of unsigned drivers no versions of Windows where this is allowed".
so correct me if my thinking is incorrect, it should search through all series of the computers we have in our environment and grab the best drivers from the overall database. Is this not right?
The reason I ask this, is we have a few hundred HP 6000 Pro desktops. WHen I image them, it comes up with 2 unknown devices. OF these, I can manually point them at the folder from which I uploaded the drivers for this series/category and it installs
100% successfully...MANUALLY. What's the reasoning behind this?
I can't help but think there's something missing in my process / logic and I need to be set straight.
Can someone out there tell me what i'm doing wrong? We're planning a district-wide re-imaging before summer's over, and the clock's ticking...but the drivers being installed are all that's keeping us from starting our migrations.

Whereas "Apply Driver Package" would install all drivers you have in the package and hence you don't see the unknown drivers in device manager. For more info on this: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680403.aspx
If you have multiple models, create this task for each model individually and then associate with a WMI query condition under Options tab to check the manufacturer/model
Example: Select * from Win32_ComputerSystem where Manufacturer = "HP" and Model Like "6000%"

So... that gives me a sort of nice conky bar with some random "what's being done" - now p.e. It tells me that yaourt is calling wget and pacman... and cmake has been started... and for some reason firefox is calling itsself... and some strange python script in /tmp/... with my home directory written behind it as parameters... mmmh... well.... maybe I should check on that later, so back to the topic - what I'm sort of missing is more or less...:
(edit: [solved] / -I would rather have done something like this with lsof, but I didn't manage to get rid of some of the constantly changing columns of lsof output - those lead to way too many reoccurring info's and doesn't give me the feeling of "a little peek behind the curtains" like it's supposed to be )
- There must be an overall better ways to do something like that, right? Any ideas for a smart little script that gets a few lines of "chaotic random backgrund info" with a good: "ooooh, I seeee"-ratio and not too much spam?
(edit: [solved] - "network stuff"! I can't see enough network stuff!!! So if anyone knows an easy (easy as in "call-it-once-per-5-seconds-with-concy"-easy) to show what processes are meddling around on the network most atm, that would be great... maybe I'll try netstat again for just that... )

Thanks, but I'm looking for (see example) a single line or something for a conky bar and something a lot less "systematic"... hard to explain... something to "see stuff fly by"... the "strange small line where I can recognize stuff from time to time"... like at the moment it's telling me "kjournal2d < n/usr/libhistory < bla bla bla < www.archlinux.org < ninotify < npipe < npipe < /bin/bash ./stuff.bash < /dev/input event....." and its going on an on and on which does not make thaaat much sense for but I like seeing it...

Pages 4.3 will open Appleworks Power PC Documents, but I Pages 5 will not. What am I missing? or is the software just not as good as 4.3?
"Some users have reported" is a mild way to put it. To answer your question "or is the software just not as good as 4.3?" more directly... it's only better in transparency between platforms. IBook verses Kindle - what am I missing?
I'm a huge fan of Apple and would love to embrace the whole iBook thing - but I just don't get it. You can only read and iBook on your IOS device, no OSX. You can't buy a book in iTunes and then download it to your device, you can only purchase from the devices itself. I currently only have an iPhone but will be getting the iPad 2 when it comes out. Now i'm wondering if I buy a book on my iPad, will I be able to also read on my iPhone?
All of these things are possible with Kindle - so I'm just wondering what am I missing. Is Kindle that far ahead of Apple on this?
I would rather use iBook to keep it in within the Apple product suite, but I don't see why anyone would use iBooks over Kindle.

-MarkAs others have already said, you can use iBooks to share your books on your iPhone and iPad, but not your Mac or other devices (Windows, Android, etc.). Kindle has apps or applications for sharing books on multiple platforms. However, if you have an iPad, you probably won't read books much on your computer or laptop (using Kindle). When I don't have my iPad and I have time to kill, I may use my iPhone to catch up on books, so if you have an Android phone you may prefer the Kindle app.
Of the three major e-readers, I think Nook is the by far the worst. I read one book using Nook and I'll never use it again. iBooks and Kindle are much better, though I prefer iBooks. The biggest advantage of iBooks is the ability to purchase books from within the app. With Kindle and Nook, you'll be routed to the external Safari browser to make your purchase on the Amazon and Barns and Noble websites, respectively. I don't know if Apple will allow Kindle to make in-App purchases in the future, but now it makes purchasing books much easier on iBooks (especially impulsively).
iBooks also has other small features that I prefer in iBooks over Kindle (e.g., the way you turn pages, how it deals with pictures, footnotes, notes, bookmarks, font options). I first look in iBooks to see if the book I want is offered. Now that Random House will be on iBooks, hopefully there will be even more titles. But it is not a deal-breaker if iBooks doesn't offer it and Kindle does. I haven't tried getting books via Google or other e-Readers.
If my experience is typical, you'll probably find yourself reading many more books. I have even been buying books on iBooks that I already had in paper form but have been piling up unopened for years. There are also many free public domain books (e.g., older literature).
While it is true that the glossy screen can make it difficult to read in certain bright conditions, I haven't been fortunate to do all my reading by the side of a pool on vacation. If you are lucky enough for that to be an issue, I guess you can always purchase both a Kindle and iPad 2!

CSS experts, please show me what I'm missing... [SOLVED]
I want to know how Firefox knows the difference between certain code surrounding Arch's stuff. For instance, the time and date stamp above every post here. This is an example:

Both of these pick up on the h2 settings I have in a CSS file that I'm putting together:

Firefox doesn't apply the bold settings to the first example but does to the second. This is exactly what I want. If I add another entry:

Then the bold goes off on both of them. I want a generic CSS file that has the time and date normal and the wiki entries bold. Firefox does this automatically. What am I missing?

What CSS does is applying the CSS rules for each element/selector. This means first it will apply the rules for h2, then the rules for span and at last the rules for the class conr or the element a respectively. If any properties already exists, they will be overwritten when applying the rules of a more specific element. If multiple rules apply (for instance multiple classes with conflicting properties), the !important will help the browser to decide which rule to apply.
In your case I guess that there are rules for the class conr or the span element which conflict with your desired setting. Since you only change the rules for h2, the rules of those more inner elements/attributes take precedence. -
What software is missing in itunes for showing my ipad?
My ipad2 will not show up in itunes so I can update it to 5OS. I have the latest itunes and have tried deleting and reinstalling to no avail. I get an error message saying it can't be shown because it is missing software.

If Device Manager and/or control panel "devices and printers" shows iPad with an alert or yellow icon or unknown usb device.... that is hard - next to impossible.
There is always backup data, Windows Easy Transfer, and clean install, if only on separate drive/partition just to get iOS 5. That is what I ended up doing.
Even a normal uninstall does not remove everything, and some things are in wrong location directories. Normally Apple leaves older versions around which never made sense and can interfere.
Not just iTunes but ALL Apple software needs to be uninstalled and removed.
Look for any Apple related and look for "Lockdown" and WOW64 if needed to find "Quicktime" remnants.

I'm having the same, identical problem. It goes into step 2 (backing up process) then it goes back to step one (finding iPad) and it starts over again. It will just keep doing that for 3 or 4 times until it will say "iPad not found". This is so frustrating.
