N800 Internet Table will not download additional a...

Can anyone please assist with a solution to the following problem.
I have a new N800 Internet Tablet which was updated with os2008 on the day it was received. The Tablet and os2008 appear to all be working perfectly with the preinstalled sofware however I am unable to download any of the additional software such as Skype, Canola 2, Gmail tracker etc. I can log into any website ok and all appears to work correctly however when a download is attempted it sticks on the Applications Manager Screen with the download 1kb message and will not download any more. The applications manager log shows 'Couldn't stat source package list' (repeated for catalogue, repository and openbossa depending on the site attempted). I have followed all download instructions to the letter and even restored original settings once as I thought I may have done something wrong.
Is there a problem on the sites or do I need to alter something on the N800 tablet ? Is this a problem with the os2008 version currently being released ?

  • Internet Explorer will not open additional tabs

I bought a Yoga 2 Pro a couple of weeks ago an overall I really like it.  There is one thing that is a little strange. When I open up IE from the start/tablet page it will not open additional tabs if the website requests it.  It will either stay on the initial page or open a blank page.  For example; there is a website I use alot, when you click a link it opens it in another window.  When I do that it just opens a blank page.
If I use IE from the Desktop it works fine.  Am I missing a setting somewhere?
    Thanks,
    Brian

This seems to be happening to more that just you.
Contact your mail provider and get the alternate server settings. Change your settings to those provided. Restart Thunderbird. Change settings back to original.
If they provide no other settings then use the following as temporary settings

  • TS1368 My iPad will not download app updates or new apps, however all other Internet connections do work, I can connect and browse apps just not download

I can browse the iTunes store, get on the Internet ,etc, but it will not download apps or updates for my apps. I get a message that it cannot connect to the store

Try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your Apple ID in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it works.
If that doesn't solve the problem, go to Settings > General > Date & Time and change the date to a few months in the future and then re-try.

  • App will not download to iPad when purchased from App Store - stuck with Cloud icon

Device : iPad Air 32gb wi-fi model (not cellular data)
OS version : 7.1.1 (up to date)
    Location : UK
Problem : App will not download to iPad when purchased from App Store - stuck with Cloud icon
Last night I tried to download an app over wi-fi onto my iPad Air, but the app did not install.
I have plenty of space (the app is 24.1mb, I have 3.4gb free space) and there are no restrictions whatsoever on my iPad - no blocks on App store purchases, no age-related restrictions, no country restrictions etc.
Normally from the App Store page you would tap the price (in this case the app was free), enter your iTunes password, and the app would download.
Also a new icon appears on the home screen and a circle shows the progress of the download.
    However this did not happen.
Instead I have the Cloud icon (the one that shows when you have bought an app but it is not currently installed on your device) and a message that says "You've already purchased this, so it will be downloaded now at no additional cost".
If I press OK I am then prompted to enter my iTunes password, the Cloud symbol briefly changes to a circle (and I mean for a split-second, like the blink of an eye) and then the Cloud symbol appears again.
The app does not download - in fact it does not even *attempt* to download.
I have tried this >20 times now and it always occurs excatly like this.
After Googling this problem (which seems common) and reading over a dozen threads on this forum plus Apple's own official support pages, this is what I've tried:
I can re-download other apps that I have previously purchased on this iPad, with no problems.
I purchased another app on my iPhone 5 and was then able to download onto my iPad with no problems.
I have reset my iPad >5 times - both by pressing/holding the home/power buttons, and also a full switch off and restart.
I have logged out of my iTunes account on the iPad, and logged back in.
The wi-fi is Virgin Media fibre optic broadband with a verified speed of 20 meg (confirmed by Speedtest) plus an 802.11-n Belkin router and my iPad will happily load web pages, stream videos on YouTube, download other apps etc.
I have reset/rebooted my internet connection
In an attempt to eliminate by broadband connection from the possible causes, I have switched off my router, linked my iPad to the hotspot feature on my iPhone and tried to download the app over cellular data, but still cannot download the app.
I have tried on 2 other wi-fi networks but still cannot download this one app.
My iTunes account has a cerdit balance from an iTunes card, but the app was free anyway
Nothing I try will download the app in question.
The app is iPad only, so I cannot install on my iPhone to try and kick-start the process.
I guess I could install the app on my computer and then sync the iPad, but that's *working around* the problem - it's not *fixing* the problem.
(Since getting the iPad I use almost never use my computer. And anyway what if I did not have a computer? Didn't iOS go "PC-free" with version 5?)
I would like to call Apple but my 90-day telephone support has expired (the iPad is around 6 months old) and I don't want to buy Apple Care for this one problem.
I can't make it to an Apple Store to speak to a Genius.
Bearing in mind the list of things I've already tried, what do I do next?
Thanks in advance for any support.

    Hi there.
Thank you very much for your quick reply, it's really appreciated.
No need to apologize, I actually found the phrase "If your iPad ever craps the bed" amusing under the circumstances
I checked the list of installed apps like you suggested (Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Show all apps) but this problem app is not in the list. I have also swiped down on the home screen to search for it, but again it does not show.
While it has not let me download the app (and I just tried it again) it has helped me to eliminate a few things from the list of what to try, and I can definitely conclude that it has not downloaded.
I guess I need to fire up my PC and download it / sync my iPad.
    Thanks again for your help

  • Music will not download completely!!!! Help please!!

I have purchased music from iTunes and it will not download on my PowerBook or on my Toughbook (WIN XP). The windows version gives me error 403---my Mac just hangs up midway through the first download. I have downloaded hundreds of songs in the past--no problems. (well, occasionally, but a restart or even a retry has helped). This time nothing I do is working. I have cleared the svi cookies, but still nothing. No problem accessing the music store and making purchases--just can't download them. My wife's iBook is working though--it downloads the songs from iTunes no problem. All computers are on the same wireless network--Cox Cable internet. Any suggestions would help. Thanks.

Now getting error 502--was not getting this before. And BTW---all of the computes mentioned above are using my account with the same CC info. My wife has her own iPod, and uses it exclusively on her computer. I only update my iPod on the Mac, but both my Mac and my PC are doing the same thing--didn't know if this additional helps.....

  • My LG Cosmos Touch will not download pictures from texts anymore

For the last couple of weeks..my phone will not download pictures or texts containing a lot of bytes...according to Verizon...this phone is designed to only accept up to 3500 bytes and all the newer phones send texts with pic about 30,000 bytes....and there is no solution beyond getting a newer phone..but I do not want to pay for an internet plan...so..is there any other way to get my phone to download these things sent to me? And yes..I have taken out battery as was instructed...just hoping there is a solution that this verizon rep does not know about...I feel like this is gonna be like the Daily Scoop issue....

    Hi obrnlori,
I am happy to provided you with an alternate way to view your pictures until you decide to upgrade to a new phone. I would suggest forwarding the picture to your free Pix Place account on our web site. Here is some information to assist you with establishing an account and transferring pictures to Pix Place  Additionally, you can also forward the picture directly to your e-mail address and view the picture via your PC.  I am hopeful this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any additional concern.

  • Latest iTunes will not download

Can someone please help me download the latest iTunes for windows? I go to the update page and click on download, and the page that loads is one that says "Thank you for downloading iTunes 7" but nothing at all downloads. Nothing happens except that page comes up.
I have version 6.0.5 and just recently got the internet. I have turned off all firewalls but will not load on my computer. I have a Dell 7400C with Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 as my operating system. Kind of outdated I know but I wasn't able to use it for almost 2 years.

The OP says the update will not download for them, hence my suggestion.
If you have attempted to install the update and the installation has failed read on...
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
See also HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP or HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8. Some users may need to follow all the steps in the appropriate support document which includes some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • I have an ipad 2 and when connected to my wifi at home it will not download and play you tube videos quickly.  Do I need to upgrade my connenction speed?  What is the optimal speed?

I have an ipad2.  When connected to my wifi at home it will not download you tube videos for easy viewing.  Do I need to upgrade my connection speed?  Would 3 Mbps be enought or do I need to go to 6 Mbps.  I mainly use my ipad to view emails, browse the internet and watch you tube videos.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
There are a number of factors in the 'speed' equation. Any or all of them can affect the 'observed' speed of your connection.
    1. Are you in a neighborhood full of WiFi routers (and thus, lots of WiFi interference)? I can 'see' at least 22 other WiFi routers from my living room!
    2. What is the maximum connect speed and band and bandwidth available from your wireless router. Is it 802.11n or the older 802.11a/b/g? 300Mbits or 150Mbits? 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz or both? Does your router measure (QoS) Quality of Service and can it change 'channels' automatically?
    3. What is the observed strength of your wireless connection? Are you getting at least 80% signal when connected? Are there other people in your family also using significant bandwidth at the same time (Netflix, streaming video, streaming audio, game systems)
    4. What is the "advertised" speed of your current ISP connection?
    5. What is the measured throughput of your current setup.  Go to speedtest.net or use the free speedtest.net app available in the App Store.  Try several times, from different locations in your home, and at different times of day and night.
I have AT&T DSL advertised at 3Mbit/sec down and 512Kbit/sec up. My Speedtest.net measured throughput is about 2.4 Mbit/sec downstream and upstream is about 0.4Mbit/sec. I'm using a Motorola Netopia 2210-2 DSL modem. I have no problem viewing YouTube videos and other mobile video content on the iPad 2.  I'm connected wirelessly to a D-Link DIR-655 Gigabit router rated at 150Mbps at 2.4Ghz (only) with 802.11 b/g/n enabled. The interior of my home is within a range of 30-50 feet from the router and no more than 1 wall.  It is a single level concrete slab foundation of about 1500 sq. ft. with cathedral ceilings. I have successfully streamed ESPN3.com on my MacBook at the same time my son was streaming another ESPN3.com game on his MacBook Pro. I've streamed YouTube videos while my son was watching a NetFlix movie on his Wii game system. He's also successfully used Skype for extended 'teleconferences.' None of my devices are connected to HDMI on a large screen TV. 95% of the time, I can do iChat video without any signal breakup to my son (who is at a college with a Gigabit (1000Mbit) wired connection!). 5% of the time the connection drops. We haven't tried FaceTime (designed for mobile connections to be much less bandwidth-intensive, from what I understand) simply because we both have iChat on our computers.
So for me, a 3Mbit DSL connection is absolutely adequate, given all the other parameters mentioned. As the car manufacturers say, "Your mileage may vary."

  • HT2404 Mountain Lion will not download through the apps store.  It shows up in Launchpad, but when the screensaver goes on and I enter my password and my desktop shows up, it has disappeared from launchpad.  I have set my energy saver controls appropriate

Mountain lion will not download thru the apps store.  It has been purchased and redeemed.  I have set my energy settings appropriately so computer will not turn off during download as Verizon offers a connection that is very slow.  I have set the display to go to sleep (which I have set so I have to sign in again).  When I sign in again, Mountain Lion OSX has disappeared from the launchpad.  I have tried this several times.  I do have Norton Internet Security on my Mac Air.  I turned off the idle time scan on the Norton and tried again.  Same results.  Anyone?

Ask anyone around here, and they will tell you quite differently. AV software will slow down your computer, can be incompatible with software you use, can cause kernel panics and other problems. It is unnecessay since OS X has it's own protection built-in. AV software can no more tell the difference between safe and unsafe sites on your browser than could an elephant.
