Hi everyone,
I have had my Nokia N81 8GB for over three months know and for the last three weeks I haven't been able to send text messages.
I get the follwoing error when I check the details on the error : - "Unable to send message: number of person sending to". If I click on detail I get the following error "General: Memory Full. Close some applications and try again."
What's really stupid is that I have 6 and a half gb free memory and also there is only one application running which is the music player (it cant be turned off of closed from the application list).
I sent it back to nokia and they flashed the phone to it's original settings. I restored the phone to it's original state and I still get the error message.
I have checked the message centre number with 02 and also I have got the latest software from Nokia rthrough the software updater.
ANY ONE HAVE ANY IDEA WHY THIS IS HAPPENING? I NEED HELP AS I HAVE UNLIMITED TEXT AND I CAN'T USE THEM!!
I have an o2 N81 8GB and am equally concerned about memory. I'm just trying to see how full it gets before I get to this situation.
memory in use: 16mb
9334 free memory
with messages at 533kb - I've got about 660 messages at the moment.
I've installed fring and opera to the memory card.
Was this one of the N81s that came with FIFA 2008? Scrubbing using *#7370# and then not installing the sis file will clear about 4gb by my reckoning.
If you've downloaded Nokia Maps 2, the sis file sits on the phone memory - i've not found how to remove it yet.
Don't forget to clear the cache after web browsing

  • N81 8GB Phone memory is not available !!!

I am using N81 8GB. So far I know brand new N81 8GB has 16MB of free internal memory and somewhat 8GB of free external memory (where internal memory in the phone memory and external memory is the memory card.
Last three months it was asking me “Phone Memory” is out of space whereas I used only 2GB out of 8GB mass memory.  I installed everything in Mass memories. Recently it was asking me , Phone memory is not available. I used “OVI suite” with  cable and found 24MB already used 0(zero) space available. Then I deleted all programme, music, video and  and others from “Mass memory”  and formatted it. Even deleted everything except default program. Then I flashed the Mobile from OVI update suite. Version has changed but found 21MB is occupied out of 24MB. Now tell me what’s the solution to free the spaces?
I can’t receive more than 3 or 4 music (small) files via Bluetooth. It asks me to free the inbox space. So far I had total 10 text message (SMS) in inbox. Why it should ask me whereas I have enough memory( 6GB) in “Mass Memory” ?
    Is there any solution?

  • 8gb  nano memory full.

I only have 872 songs and it takes up 6.83gb....is it because the length of the songs or what?
    Message was edited by: Wilson530

Most likely it's the size of the file.
If you import your songs using 128 kbps, the songs are ~1MB per minute.
iTunes prefs -> General. Click the Import settings button and see what it is set to (likely it is not 128 kbps).
The advertised number of songs is based on 128 kbps, with songs ~4 minutes.
Go to menu View -> View options.
    Tick Size.
Your songs are probably +8MB each.

  • N81 "Memory full" when installing app

    Hi
Using N81 (with 2GB external SD, not 8GB), I'm trying to install the last version of Whatsapp.
I download the app, but when installing I get the "Memory full" error message. I've never experienced this issue.
I've removed most of apps, but I'm still getting the message. What could I do? Thank you very much.

    Hi @bilbaow
Try uninstalling the old version of WhatsApp, then re Install the new one. I suggest you copy the .sis file into you SD card, then install from there....
    Hope it helps.

  • N81: "Memory full" even formatted the memory card

    Hi.
Using N81, I get the "Memory full. Delete some data" message every time (when turning on the mobile, when trying to install any app, when trying to uninstall any app, ...).
I've formatted the memory card, and I've got:
    - Capacity: 1947 MB
    - Used: 1 MB
    - Free: 1946 MB
but continue getting the same error.
Any similar experience? I reset the mobile (*#7370# and *#7780#) but I don't experience any change (I've deleted the time and settings, but not the memory issues).
Thank you very much in advance.

    Hi bilbaow,
    Thank you for your post.
What I recommend you try is to re-installing your firmware and see if this make a difference. You can do this via Nokia suite through tools and update.
If after this is still isn't working when you did a hard reset (*#7370#) did you back and restore? If you did do the hard reset but don't restore, do still experience the same issue?
    Regards

  • N81 8GB can there be another memory card working w...

....................................................i wanna know becuz i wanna buy a n81 8GB and thinking of putting another memory card? Is the 8GB hard drive or a memory card. And is there any Wi-Fi?And is the screen bigger than N72? And one of my friends is saying that there is a problem with the buttons(the numbers) like they are messed up and when he puts it in his pocket the button get pressed.
    Nokia N72

the 8gig is internal memory (hard drive) and you don't have a slot for another memory card...only the new n96 has that accessibilty and it has 16 gig internal hard drive...the screen is quite big...and the keys are not a problem 4 me....

  • N81 8GB and maps: internal memory lost!!!!

My brand new N81 8GB has 16MB of free internal memory and somewhat 8GB of free external memory (where internal memory in the phone memory [C drive] and external memory is the memory card [E drive]).
The N81 comes preinstalled with the Nokia Maps software, but no maps are pre-loaded.
According to NOKIA, to upload maps on the N81 you need [STEP 1] first to update the Nokia Maps software ON THE PHONE and [STEP 2] then install and run the Nokia Maps Loader from the computer.
The problem that is reported here has nothing to do with [STEP 2] (which works fine and correctly uploads maps on the N81 external memory) but happens already at [STEP 1].
So, starting with an N81 with 16MB of free internal memory, I connect it to the pc in PC SUITE MODE and I install the Nokia Maps software update, and after installation the phone internal memory goes down to 8MB!!!!!!!!!
So, by simply updating the Nokia Maps software (not even the maps) 8MB of internal memory are lost.
I have tried anything to gain back those 8MB, but could not find any solution. I have even tried with X-plore looking into every single hidden and system folder: nothing!!!!!!!!!
The only way was to do a hard reset of the phone and reinstall all software (or a backup, if you have one).
By the way, the Nokia Maps Loader uploads the maps on the phone even if you do not do the Nokia Maps software update.

Same here, but with a non-8GB N81, and it's internal memory is at 1.3MB!

  • N95 8GB Memory full when synchronising. No way!

I've got loads of memory on phone and mass memory. Why do I get 'Memory full. Close some applications and try again.' when I try to synchronise with N series pc suite on xp media centre?

Hi, ive been racking my brains because of this as i was wanting to sync before updating my N95's software..
I had 1.4gb free on my memory card.. and about 110mb free on the phone.
Finally figured The reason why my sync was failing was a very large note (which i had forgotten about) 770k.. after deleting this.. phone sync's perfectly.
Have a look for large notes!!

  • Phone memory full??

i'm using n81 8gb.the prob is phone mem is owez full.i check in the file mnger but cant find the files that coz my memory full

When you receive files(images, music) via bluetooth, they take up space in your phone memory unless you delete them from the inbox after saving them to your mass memory. Do a clean-up in your inbox ie., delete the files that you would have received via Bluetooth, from your inbox, and see if you can reclaim free space. Also, if you have music and images stored in your phone memory, move them to the mass memory.

  • Memory full. Not enough memory for operation.

    To the Report Design Team,
It has been suggested that I post this issue here based on another thread I started: Re: Memory full. Not enough memory for operation.
The template contains a single 24 bit PNG image as a background in the Page Header section, plus 9 image records from a SQL Server image field over 3 pages (3 images per page).  The images are all JPG at 3000x2000 (digital camera).
To summarize, we are experiencing three problems.
    1. CR2008SP2 Designer issues a Memory Full error when Exporting to PDF.
    2. Using a 3rd party PDF Printer (Bullzip PDF) and CR2008SP2 Designer generates a PDF, however, the CR2008SP2 API throws a "Memory full" exception suggesting Designer and API are different (see stack trace in linked message above).
    3. With only 3 images on 1 page, CR2008 Designer Export to PDF takes 110 seconds to generate a 24MB PDF while our third party PDF Printer generates the same report in 17 seconds and 580KB.
Edited by: Don Williams on Sep 30, 2009 6:43 AM

The .rpt file size is 14MB with the Data Save option enabled, 12MB without Data Save.  Presumably the 12MB file size is because of the 24bit PNG we have as our background.
The Designer executes the report in less than a second and we can scroll through all pages and see the image fields perfectly.
When we Export to PDF, the Designer takes a long time, eventually gets to the 77%, the 7th record and returns "Export report failed" followed by "Memory full".  If we export only page 1 of the 3 pages, it also returns a Memory full error.  However, when the same report is run with only 1 page, that page exports to PDF but with a ridiculously large size and export time.
The machine has 2GB of physical memory with an 8GB pagefile with Windows 2003 (latest everything).  The process runs up to about 1GB before reporting the memory full error.
We've also tried a variety of other suggestions posted in the other thread with no success.
We're happy to provide the RPT file to the Report Team to diagnose the problem.  Ultimately, we need to be able to produce a 15 page report with approximately 45 images.
Our preferred scenario is fixing problem 2.  The CR Designer seems quite capable of rendering our report and printing it to our third party PDF printer in a timely manner with small size.  However, the API reports memory full.
The API resides in a dedicated reporting web service with NO other code except for loading the report, setting parameters and printing.  When executing, it uses up to about 1.1GB before reporting the error.
Are there any other suggestions for fixing what we have?  Are there known problems with large images in reports?  Do we need to lodge a formal support request?
    Regards,  Grant.

There is a 1500 character limit and then all formatting is removed to save space. Break you posts into separate entries.

  • How to delete a corrupt software from your N81 8GB

    Hello all.
I'm new to this and i was just wondering if anyone could help me.
I need to delete or remove a corrupt software on my N81 8GB.
The problem is that nothing is working and i don't want to format my mass memory.
Though if formatting is my only resort how can i back up my mass memory and keep my data safe?
Any other way to remove it?
    Anything is appreciated
    Thanks in advance

Download Nokia PCSuite 7.1.18.0 and Nokia Software Updater 1.4.85 from Nokia site, then install NPCS first. Connect phone. Then NSU. After that make a memory backup, first on your memory card, next by Content copier from NPCS. After this Open NSU and follow commands.
But after backup memory you can try to soft reset by dialing *#7370# this reformat your phone and restor software as from factory, but with latest software, if you updated.

  • A700: 8gb of memory installed, only 4gb are being used

The a700 that I purchased from lenovo.com was the top model (40244JU) in the a700 series and came with 8gb of memory installed.  The os system screen properly shows the 8gb of memory installed.  The bios screen shows only 4gb of memory installed, thus only 4gb are being used by the computer.  Please tell me how to update the bios since there do not seem to be any bios updates for the a700 on lenovo.com.
    Thank you.
