N81 + WPA2 = reboot

My N81 (not 8G) is always rebooted when I try connect to wi-fi with WPA2 encryption. I'm try connect ad-hoc without encr. and it works fine.
I have last software update (10.0.035) .

starocean01, you can try the hard reset. Backup your phone memory using PC Suite, an turn off your phone.
Press and hold down the 3, * and Green (Call) keys
Turn on the phone, with these keys pressed
Release them when you see the Nokia logo or other signs of life.
This operation will wipe out everything on your phone memory, and restore factory settings.
Once this is done, restore the backup, doing one item at a time - only contacts, then messages, etc. At any point if you find that the problem has reappeared, do the hard reset once more, and skip that particular item while restoring.
If this didn't work out, your only option would be to take your N81-8GB to a Nokia Care Point
Let us know how it goes.
Cheers,
DeepestBlue

I really don't have an answer for that one. I guess that while trying to get things working correctly, I would use the most basic monitor I had which in your case would be the Eizon using the Thunderbolt port and adaptor.
When you boot into Safe Mode the startup is quite slow, but you should get the Apple logo and then the spinning gear below it (release the SHIFT key when it appears.) Then after a little more time you should see a gray progress bar appear below the spinning gear. When that disappears the computer will startup to a login screen.

  • Wifi won't connect to WPA2 network after waking from sleep, requires reboot

My office has a WPA2 network that I use my MBP to connect to. When I go home for the day, I close the MBP and put it to sleep. When I get home and open it, it automatically connects to my home wifi network. I do the same coming back to work and when it wakes up it shows a connection to the wifi network, but whenever I initially do any network task, the connection drops and I am unable to connect until I reboot my mac.
I've tried turning off the wifi before sleeping, then turning it back on, but it does the same thing.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
I'm thinking about a trouble with the route table. Try this in a terminal session after startup:
    netstart -rn
    ping <network address>
After somes answer, close the cover to go to sleep mode.
Open the cover and look the result of the ping command
Normaly you don't have a network
cancel the ping command and redo the netstat commande
Normaly some rows are missing in the result (i don' know why)

  • Nokia N81 reboots when using wireless LAN

HAs anybody else come across this problem, I have a N81-3 with 8Gb sim card, basically when using wireless lan it reboots, I see there is a firmware upgrade that improves wifi stability but when using the software upgrader it says there are no updates available for my phone, any ideas.??

The CR-200 only charges at 750mA and I am not even sure that is 100% transferred through the Qi charging. Charging at less than 1A will likely not be enough to keep up with the drain from using the phone while navigating. I think it will use much more than that.
I use a Anker 13.000 mA battery with my phone while rinding my bike and have had several instances where I accidentally used the 1A output (it has both a 1 and 2 A output) to find that would actually not keep up with the phone running navigation and cycle tracking apps running (in addition to cellular and some other tasks).
Navigation _will_ require some serious amount sof power and _will_ in general make the phone feel warm to the touch. I very much doubt a wireless charger will be able to provide the juice needed to keep up the charge.

Anyone can guide me how to set-up an email for N81?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Airport no longer works with WPA, WPA2 or WEP after 10.4.8 update.

    A little disappointing.
After updating to 10.4.8 (I first did Software Update, then read here that the downloaded is safer, so I downloaded, repaired permissions, rebooted, installed 10.4.8 again from the download, rebooted, repaired permissions once more)
Now when I try to use the Airport on my MacBook Pro 17" I cannot connect to my wireless router (DLINK-524) with any security turned on (WPA, WPA2 or WEP). The signal strenght flashes on full (I'm close to the router) and off and I do not connect.
Any clue how to fix this?
    Macbook Pro 17" Mac OS X (10.4.7)
    Macbook Pro 17"   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I just did that - I tried a rollback with an "archive and install", and then stopped at 10.4.7. My problems persist... I'm actually quite amazed! Qurious if a clean install would solve the issue, but not curous enough to try. The way i see it, a re-install (even doing an "archive thingy") should include resetting all drivers. Well, either I am wrong and they are saved along with user settings - or else your explanation seems the only viable one; that there was a firmware upgrade included in this install. I admit - I did NOT read any readme. On the other hand, I tried my first install using the normal update.
    =)
Anyway, after deleting all system prefs, deleting and reconnecting networks, repairing disk permissions and key rings, deleting keyrings etc. etc. - doing it all over again in different orders etc., I tried "arhive and install" back to 10.4.7. When that doesn't solve it, I give up. I have now opened my network - disabled crypt, and settle for simple connection control on MAC adresses. That works.
I would REALLY appreciate a fix, ladies and gentlemen on Apple. I mean really as in I am gonna egg your house if you don't give me...

  • Problem with ticket printer and WPA2

    Hi
I have a customer that have a couple of Datamax O'neil MP Compact4 MarkII ticket printers. It's two differents batches with different software version, one of them works perfect, but when I tried to configure the others, they just don't want to connect to the wireless. All settings are the same.
I use WPA2-PSK on the SSID, and it's also spesified on the printer that this is a PSK-SSID. I did run debug client on the controller and it gave me the output under.
I also tried to run it without any security at all, that worked fine. What I don't understand is why the controller tries to authenticate the client with 802.1x, it's not enabled at all at the controller. Does anyone see something that I don't?
    Controller software 4.2.206,
    Regards,
    Patrick

    Hi Patrick,
It looks like that client is actually trying to do wpa vs wpa2:
    Mon Sep 12 13:23:50 2011: 00:40:17:6b:76:6d Ignoring invalid EAPOL  version (1) in EAPOL-key message from mobile 00:40:17:6b:76:6d
    Mon Sep 12 13:23:50 2011: 00:40:17:6b:76:6d Received EAPOL-key in PKT_START state (message 2) from mobile 00:40:17:6b:76:6d

change/add that wlan to wpa/tkip and see if that works.  if it does, and you've got the ticket printer configured for wpa2, there's a problem with it (maybe it needs to be rebooted for wpa2/aes to take affect? just a guess)

  • Safari hangs and forces a system reboot

This happens more frequently recently. Out of the blue, Safari (v8.0.3) under OS X 10.10.2 freezes OS X completely and the system reboots. It happens on simple HTML only websites that don't require any scripts - e.g. forums. The screen resolution appears to be lowered when logging back in, but once the system has loaded everything seems to be normal (even Safari remembers all the sites).
Aside from the ongoing WiFi issues, Yosemite is the first Apple OS that seems to crash frequently on me...
Who else is experiencing these issues?
    2012 MacBook Pro Retina
    16 Gb, 512 Gb SSD

    1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
The test works on OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later. I don't recommend running it on older versions of OS X. It will do no harm, but it won't do much good either.
Don't be put off by the complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
    2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
    3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can act on it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of it have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message. See, for example, this discussion.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
    4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
    5. Try to test under conditions that reproduce the problem, as far as possible. For example, if the computer is sometimes, but not always, slow, run the test during a slowdown.
You may have started up in "safe" mode. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
    6. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
    7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    PATH=/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/libexec;clear;cd;p=(1236 ' 0.5 0.25 10 1000 15 5120 1000 25000 1 1 0 100 ' 51 25600 4 10 25 5120 102400 1000 25 1000 80 40 500 300 85 25 20480 262144 20     Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    8. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
    9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
    exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
    10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
    11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, a series of lines will appear in the Terminal window like this:
    [Process started]
Part 1 of 8 done at … sec
Part 8 of 8 done at … sec
The test results are on the Clipboard.
            Please close this window.
    [Process completed]
The intervals between parts won't be exactly equal, but they give a rough indication of progress. The total number of parts may be different from what's shown here.
Wait for the final message "Process completed" to appear. If you don't see it within about ten minutes, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, press the key combination control-C or command-period to stop it. Then go to the next step.
    12. When the test is complete, or if you stopped it because it was taking too long, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
    13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
    14. This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak only for themselves, and I may not agree with them.

  • N81 USB Cable - Resolved problem!

I had problem with my N81. It wasn't connecting with my PCs using nokia's USB cable. No message was showing. Bluetooth was working fine. I was restarting PCs and mobile several times but without effect.
Then I remembered myself that I had same problem with my Logitech Steering-Wheel.
I plugged N81 to Playstation 2, unplugged, and plugged to PC. It resolved my problem. I got message on display of N81 to choose transmission mode!
    It's strange, isn't it?

I had the same problem: I plugged the phone in my laptop's USB port -- and nothing no "ding dong" absolutely nothing! I tried plugging the phone to Linux box and no dmesg output here either.
I thought I broke the cable or the connector, and got a new one -- but nothing. It was driving me bonkers. Sometimes, I wish I would have gotten the iPhone instead -- seriously!
I discovered my "Playstation-less solution" for this problem by accident. OK, here we go:
    1. Set a "quick alarm" in your clock application (i.e. two or three minutes past the current time).
    2. Turn the phone off.
    3. The phone will power up and your alarm will sound. Switch it off and the phone will ask you if you want to use the phone. Choose "Yes" here.
    4. Boom, magically your phone will be recognized again when you plug it to your USB port and the N81 will ask you to choose the transmission mode.
    5. You're done.
Don't ask me what happens in the phone when the alarm goes off, and how it got in that "non detect mode" in the first place but this is how I fix mine now. As an explaination how it might have gotten in that "non detect mode" the only thing I can think of, and this is pure speculation, is that I might have had the phone connected to the USB port while the Laptop was doing a reboot. In the boot sequence a USB device was recognized, and the PC tried to boot from it and this might be what screwed the phone up.
Let us know if this works for you as well
    Anyway, good luck everyone.

  • 4400N - WPA2 - bug

We are using 2 of these with WPA2 authentication/encryption - intended for use on our corporate network. AP is not configured to route/PORT FORWARD or anything fancy. DHCP is disabled as we have a DHCP server on the same subnet the LAN and Wireless interfaces are configured for on the AP. I simply want these to authenticate my hosts via WPA2 and allow us to roam between 2 or 3 of the APs.
Anyway, this setup works great for a couple days (users can connect wirelessly, authenticate via RADIUS and WPA2) AND roam between Access Points. Then, after 2 days or so the layer 3 connectivity between laptops and the AP suddenly stops. Rebooting laptops and APs has no effect. When roaming between APs I see my Mac-address showing up on the appropriate ports on the Catalyst switch these are connected to -- I also see the authentication retry show up and process appropriately on the RADIUS/DHCP servers. I never lose connection to the different APs -- except for the problem that I am no longer connected at layer 3. Can no longer ping gateways, APs DHCP/RADIUS servers etc.
Problem seems to be that the ARP/MAC tables on the APs flake out after 48-72 hours. VERY IRRITATING. If I reset to factory defaults and then reconfigure the EXACT same settings - it works great again for 2-3 days...
Packet captures on the DHCP/RADIUS servers etc. all show up fine -- which clearly puts the problem with these APs...

    Hi Helm
    I've tried all the combinations:
    PSK-Personal : TKIP
    PSK-Personal : AES
    PSK2-Personal : AES
    PSK2-Personal : TKIP or AES
Have also tried to tweak the Advanced Wireless Settings for the different comboes with no luck. The wireless connection will only stay on for a while and then suddenly drops
The funny thing is that the pc looks like it's still connected but there's no "hole" through to the Internet/network. I'm also not able to ping the router. To get online again I have to run a ipconfig release/renew of the IP-address.
FYI: I have 5 different laptops (with newest updates/drivers) that has the same problem. So it's not a driver/network card issue.
The only way I can get the router stable is to set it to WEP/128 bit encryption. That's why I'm suspecting that there might be a bug in the WPA/WPA2 mode.

I've noticed that this router is totally unstable (random reboots) on 5GHz band.
I'm using Lenovo ThinkPad T440p with build-in Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 and it's unusable on 5GHz band using Mixed mode. I've setup to N-Only but it doesn't help, router reboots randomly while i'm surffing web.
Now i'm only using 2.4GHz band so router doesn't reboot at random.

    Router Placement
Forum User - "Well I feel really dumb. After moving the router away from other electronic devices my speeds are back to normal. Just a heads up for anyone experiencing slow speeds, you might want to move it away from other electronics and see if that helps."
3-6' feet minimum safe distance between devices.
Placement on main level floor and central in the building and WELL ventilated is preferred. Not in basements or closets as building materials, or near by electronics devices could interfere or hinder good signal propagation.
I've been using Mixed Mode on 5Ghz with my router and haven't had any issues. Possible envrionment or configuration issue or incompatibility issue with the ThinkPad....Please give feedback on question presented...lets see if we can find the problem.

  • Instructions for setting WRT54GS security to WPA2? Can't find them anywhere.

    Hi,
I'm an amateur at this, so please excuse this load of ignorant questions.
I have 2 PC clients, both Dell Dimensions 3.2GHz 1GB RAM, Wireless-G adapters. OS is Windows XP SP2
The router is a Linksys WRT54GS. I'm using the wireless ports only, at least when I'm not modifying the security settings. Then I use a temporary cable to connect one of the PC's to the router.
I also have a TiVo DVR series 3 with a wireless adapter.
The router came with a copy of Linksys Advisor. When I ran this software I was able to set the security level to WPA-Personal. However I could find no option to set the level to WPA2.
I know the TiVo supports WPA2 because I saw the option when I was configuring it for WPA-personal.
    My question(s):
Why doesn't EasyLink Advisor have an option to set the security level to WPA2? Is it just deficient, or does it check to see if the client PCs support WPA2 and disable the option if they don't?
How would I go about checking if my PCs support WPA2?
Finally, if I have to set the security to WPA2 manually, what is the procedure for doing this?
It's pretty easy to see how this can be done on the router's little web server pages; but as soon as I set the security to WPA2 there, I'm going to lose wireless connections to the PCs and I won't be able to access the router.
I know I can get there via a cable connection, but then what do I do? How do I set up my clients for WPA2?
What's a real pain about all this is that the EasyLink Advisor gives hints on how to optimize performance on secured wireless systems. It advises going to WPA2! But its Wizard doesn't give the option to do that. Its offline help file is minimal - it just says "use the wizard" and that's it.
The online help describes how to manually configure WPA but not WPA2. And the instructions for WPA are incomplete. They explain how to set up the router, but then do not explain how to use the enccryption keys when reconnecting client PCs. They just say to select the SSID in the wireless icon's connect menu, then click on connect. Where does the key go?
Thanks for your time in reading this,
    Big Al Mintaka

First of all, Windows XP SP2 can do WPA2, however it requires a patch.   Go to Microsoft Knowledge base, article ID=917021 and it will direct you to the patch.
Sadly, the patch is not part of the automatic Windows XP updates, so lots of people are missing the patch.
Additionally, be sure to give your network a unique SSID. Do not use "linksys". If you are using "linksys" you may be trying to connect to your neighbor's router. Also set "SSID Broadcast" to "enabled". This will help your computer find and lock on to your router's signal.
As to why EasyLink Advisor works the way it does - I just don't know.
To setup WPA2, you will first need to patch Windows XP, then, using a computer that is wired to the router, go into the router and change the encryption to "WPA2 - personal"  with  "AES".  Reboot modem and router.  You are correct that you will now loose your wireless connections until you update the settings in your wireless devices.
Next go into your computers and likewise change the encryption to "WPA2 - personal"  (= WPA2 = PSK2 ).   (Note:  You do not necesarily need to specify "AES" in your computers (or Tivo), but if you are given a choice between TKIP and AES, choose AES.)
To find these settings for your computers, go to the wireless software in your computer, and go to "Preferred Networks"  (sometimes called "Profiles" ).  There are probably a few networks listed. Delete any network named "linksys". Also delete any network that you do not recognize, or that you no longer use.  Delete your current network  (this will clear any old settings).  Reboot computer.  Return to "Preferred Networks" and enter your network info (SSID, encryption, and key). Then select your current network and make it your default network, and set it to automatic login. You may need to go to "settings" to do this, or you may need to right click on your network and select "Properties" or "settings".  Reboot computer.
You will need to check the Tivo manual for how to change the Tivo to WPA2.

  • Cannot connect anymore to WPA2 Personal after upgrade

    Hi everybody,
I'm writing because I cannot access anymore my Wi-Fi WPA2 Personal after I upgraded successfully this morning my Macbook, I bought it at the end of 2008.
The wireless icon on top right shows me the ! (exclamation mark), the IP address is assigned correctly. I tried deleting the network from the preferred connections but it didn't work.
I add the fact wireles connection worked perfectly since today.
Can you help me? Is this a known issue of OS X Maverick?
    Thanks in advance!

I post the workaround that solved my problem, thanks again to wifiguru!!
    wifiguru wrote:
    Backup these 2 files:
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist
Then delete these 2 files and reboot. If you upload these 2 files someplace I can take a look if something was wrong in there.
Practically, I made a backup of those files, deleted them with root priviligies and reboot the computer...after that, I found with no work the Wi-Fi connected to my wireless; everything worked fine.
Hope this post helps people with same problem..

  • WPA2 Enterprise connections don't work

    Hi everyone,
    Configuration: MacBook Pro 7,1, 2,4GHz, Mac OS X 10.6.5.
Three user accounts (one for me, two for friend's backup), two of them have admin rights. I'm using one of these accounts.
I'm having a strange issue with *WPA2 Enterprise*-based access points, namely, the private one on my university's campus, and the eduroam one. Eduroam is, roughly, a SSID that is available in participating institutions worldwide, and allows connection from personnel registered in any of these institutions without having to ask for a guest access.
On eduroam, one is supposed to select the eduroam SSID in the list of network available, select "Security: WPA2 Enterprise", and type his institutional email address as a username. "Password" should remain blank for now, and in front of the "802.1X", select "Auto". On clicking the "Connect" button for the first time, a "Check certificate" dialog should appear with three buttons, "Display", "Cancel", "Continue", where one would click "Continue". Finally, a "802.1X authentication" dialog would appear, when a user would put his email address as username, and type in his institutional password to log in. Then, the user would be online without further fuss.
On my university network, it's even simpler. One should select it, type in the IT login, then the corresponding password, before being allowed to be online.
On my normal user account, I never get the "Check certificate" dialog for eduroam, an on the uni's network, it never seems to connect. Ultimately, I get the exclamation point over the wireless waves, meaning that the card self-assigned an IP. Then it tries to connect again (the icon is waving), then fails again. No other authentication is affected, and a quick look in the logs doesn't show anything salient.
On the other user account, the connection to either of these SSID works as written, on the first try.
    So it's no hardware issue.
I first tried to create a new wireless profile, and recreate the connection. It failed, once again, for both networks.
So to the Genius Bar I went. Since it's a login issue, we deleted the ~/Library/Keychans/login.keychain item, rebooted. Since the issue couldn't be reproduced in store, he advised me to delete the "session" keychain and reboot if the problem persisted. He asked me if the computer crashed while I was logged in anywhere in the past (before 10.6.5), and yes I said, adding that I let AppleJack do the automated repair. He checked with a colleague, on a tech forum, spent 30 min with me, but came back with the dreaded conclusion that, at least in that store, they ended up doing what he named "partial restore" to correct a similar issue, in contrast to "archive and install".
Off to the uni I went, and recreating the connection failed again. In the Access Keychain, I then removed the session keychain, with both the references and files (default is reference only), since they referred to passwords I already knew, rebooted, logged in, and tried to connect, to no avail. The other user account still works.
What else should I try? Ironically enough, I reinstalled OS X more times in two years than I did Windows in eight, and want to avoid the time-consuming step of reinstalling applications, and the very tricky part - ownership issues - of manually importing documents and only selected settings.

I was chasing a similar authentication issue on OS X ≥ 10.5.8 for quite some weeks. My setup does use MS 2008 Server (AD, NPS, Radius) and SonicWall SonicPoint (multi SSID on VLAN).
When I started evaluating the different options, I didn't realize such issues But when it came to the final usage guidelines I had serious issue connecting with Mac OS X to the WPA2 Enterprise Network (BlackBerry and iOS was never an issue)!
I finally did work out, that you can only authenticate once successfully if you use the "Ask to join networks" popup - instead I had to select the network manually from the airport, provide my credentials and select "remember this network"to store the network and it's radius profile! I guess this behavior may have something to do with the credentials stored/reused in/from the keychain for the second login.
Also, I did notice you have to make sure you quit your system preferences each time you expect a change due to newly stored networks or radius profiles!
Hope this may help other users to troubleshoot similar issues!

  • WPA2-enterprise WIFI can't connect after upgrading to 6.1 or higher

    Hi. Please help.
We have a campus wifi with two ssids: one open for everyone and one closed with wpa2-enterprise (PEAP) security for staff. All iphones and ipads works just fine on ios version 6.01 but they can't connect to secured wifi network after updating to ios ver 6.1 and higher (tried 6.1.2). They still able to connect to open wlan ssid. Our WIFI equipment is: Extremenetworks WM3600 controllers and AP4600/AP4511 access points running WM5.4.1. WMM enabled.
WM3600 controller use Windows2008 r2 NPS server + active directory for authorization (selfsigned certificates is 2048 bit length).
    WM3600 wlan staff configuration settings:
    wlan Staff
    description TOGU staff network
    ssid STAFF
    vlan 238
    bridging-mode tunnel
    encryption-type tkip-ccmp
    authentication-type eap
    no answer-broadcast-probes
    protected-mgmt-frames optional
    radius vlan-assignment
    no motorola-extensions symbol-load-information
    use aaa-policy Domain_aaa
Here is the log from iphone configuration utility with connection error:

    Hope to get any help.

Yes. We tried to reboot iphone(s), tried also with ipads 6.1. We tried to reset network settings.
We tried to add wifi profile to clean new iphone using iphone configuration utility.
Wireless supplier can't help - they told it is an ios issue and I think this is true because all
ipads/iphones works just fine on  ios5 or 6.0.1 but can't connect on 6.1
