N82 aacPlus BUG !

v20 of N82 has a bug where i can hear a little noise like u knw wen u get mp3 off da net n da bitrate isnt correct n u get dat little hissing noise.
I have my music all in 48KBps Stereo aacPlus like nokia say it is compaitbale. They need to update this coz with all theses files on my n91/n95 i had no problems !

i use EAsy CD-Da EXtractor v11.5.3 Pro best encoder on market.
never had problems on n91/n95/n73 me.
48Kbps in aacPlus is same as mp3 at 192kbps.

N82 Menu Bug?

Right if you click on your menu button on your n82. When you come to the menu sometimes you will see the Menu Icon and sometimes you will not see the Menu Icon. This is on the top left hand corner to the "Menu" text. BTW set your menu view to grid. Think this is a bug lol. I dont knw but sometimes with the Menu Icon on the top left hand corner makes my icons look abit smaller.

look at my N82 menu. Im using the Nokia Nseries 5 theme. mine nothing modified. sometimes it wil be der sometimes it wont.

N82 more bugs

I've got mine for a couple of weeks and had already found some bugs. The N82 is greate, but it can be better:
- Sometimes, you can not scroll/tab from one field to another after you enter information on that field. It happens browsing the web or adding a contact. I need to force an INTRO or turn the phone off and start all over again.
- In some circumstances, you can't use the scroll key (the center one) in the option menu, and you must select an opction with the 'select' key (the left one). This is odd when you send SMS.
- The voice commands (in spanish), with the sinthetizer active, are not recognized and there is no way to train the phone to do it. I didn't try voice commands with the synth turned off.
I hope Nokia releases a new fw to fix this issues. Anyway, this is, by far, the best phone ever (yet).

also.. of late the T9 dictionary has also been acting funny.. its giving really uncommon words before the common ones..
eg. gives me 'bmw' before 'any'..
the phone used to work well before and only had the earphone restart problem but that got fixed after the update.. now its developed these problems..

N82 PLaylist Bug ?!

When ever I add a song to my playlist using my phone , the song disappears once I access the playlist in windows media player in my pc! the steps goes as the following:
I transfer a song from my PC using Data Transfer
I disconnect the cable then I go to music player and open "My Playlist" .m3u file
I press on options and then add songs
I browse to the song that I just transfer and press add
the song is listed in the playlist and is playable
I connect the phone to my pc again using data transfer
through my pc I browse to the location of "My Playlist" .m3u file and open it using windows media player
the song that I added to the playlist previously through my phone was not there
I disconnect the cable and go to "My Playlist" through my phone and also the song that I added previously disappeared??!!
Any solution to this problem, looks like a bug from the firmware...

Update to the latest firmware,this happened to me with the old firmware.

N82 Contacts Bugs

contacts hangs a lot, is very slow and recently has quit allowing me to send business cards..
at first i thought it was bcuz of many apps being open but even after a restart and no apps on the phone is still giving problems..
any1 else experiencing the same probs..
firmware version 20.0.062... not updating cuz ive heard there are some problems with version 30..

N82 (FW v31.0.016) firmware bugs!

Hello! I just found some bugs in the last firmware version of the N82. I hope someone will do something about them since they are related to the basic functionality of the phone.
1. On each week (monday or tuesday , I don't know for sure) the phone skipps 2 days! So, for example, if monday is the 4th of May, the phone will display the 6th of May!!
This won't be such a problem if the user doesn't have a custom alarm set. But, for example, if he has the alarm set for each day of the week (workdays), the alarm will ring only a few days, because of the skipping date bug.
2. In the calendar application, as you already know, it can be set a default view (day view/ week view/month view).
The problem is that if the user set the default view to month view (and probably week view too), he will still see the day view as default!
Please guys, fix this in the next firmware version!

Is N82 free from bugs??

I am planning to get N82 for X'mas. Can anyone help me to decide to buy or not?
So far I have browsed many mobile phone forums, not many of them complaining about the software bugs and also hardware defects in N82.
Is this phone really that well built? Free from defects and bugs?
OR no one actually care to comment because they have less interest for this phone compare to other models.
Of course, when I say free, there is still some people have complain with this phone, but mostly is minor defect/bugs and they said they can live with it.
If you compare with complains for N95-1 and N95-8gb, you can see almost in every forums and every day, people still complains even though this phone has been around for more than 3 months and few firmware has been introduced to fixed bugs.

Nothing is bug free. I would have gotten a N82 but I already had the LD-4W and it did not make sense to get a phone with GPS already. I did get the N81 and could not be happier. If you get the N82 I am sure you will be happy.
Show the KUDOS button some love.... Hit that bad boy.... It don't hurt....

N82 recent calls list bug

I have noticed in the recent calls list on my N82 that a mobile phone icon is shown no matter what type of call you have made or received, eg: if you make or receive a call to or from a home/telephone number that is listed in your contacts, you will only see the mobile phone icon in the recent calls list, this is a major firmware bug because when you check your recent calls you won't be able to tell if the call dialed or received was from or to a mobile or home/telephone number.
Can someone confirm this is infact a bug, or am i the only one.

Yes, I've the same problem on my N82.
This is not acceptable since this is a simple standard phone feature in today's mobile phone.
I love my N82 except this BIG bug.

N82 bug with fring skype

My N82 get along with skype verywell by using Fring. However there is 1 bug that make me quite trouble is Fring can only get connected with "non password" WIFI connection. My WIFI area at home have password. Normally if i use N82 to connect, it will ask me password. But if i connect it thru Fring, Fring will not ask me password; it will just say can not get connected. So i need to shut down my WIFI password first in order to get my fring connected. Can someone help me with it?

I have the latest version of Fring and it does ask me for password. Check to make sure you have the latest version of Fring.
The other option is to set up your Access Points first. This means you will not have to enter the password everytime you reuse the Access Point.

N82 bugs

These may apply to NSeries or S60 phones.
1. "Now playing" screen background image is misaligned. See e.g.,this screen shot.
2. Calendar meeting display on "front" page (Standby) does not wrap text nicely if the meeting is on the next day (or later), such that line breaks occur mid-word. Interestingly, this does not appear to occur if the meeting is on the same day.
3. Calls in call log always displayed as mobile phones. See e.g., here.
Please confirm.
I find these to be quite irritating bugs. I am actually rather stunned that these were not caught by the developers. I would be gravely disappointed if these mistakes are not corrected in the next software update.

(in search:internet and my content) if i want to search a word with two language i must exit & for example(go to new message & change my language & return to search mode on my phone i think in search mode y forgot n82 dosent have pen key & we use * to change language!!!

& in new v20.0.062 rotate screen is too sensitive! when i use it in rotate screen when i shake my hand alittle it rotate two times even more!!!! sometimes i dont shake my hand but it happens ! i think it's too sensitive in last v11.0... it's better

NOKIA N82 MUSIC PLAYER BUG

IN FIRMWARE 35.0.002(N82) ->i start the player and he is blocking....and i need to restart the phone after that...in the screen of my phone after accesing the music player...he gives me something like "reparing corupt.......",after that sam thing!!!
I reminde my others problems whit this firmware: I had the older version and it was ok for my phone N82 (first version was good,i mean the first but he had bugs in other programs,and battery life,rotate speed sound....)i instaled the latest 35.0.002...and is full of bugs...i am so sad...because my camera doesnt worck on video...i press the buton and nothing...and to take a picture...i press the buton...he is starting the red light...auto focus....but no picture...(no xenon)!!when i select time picture(2sec,4sec)works to make a picture.....this is my mode to take a picture...and i have a frien with same phone....whoo has the same problem.......i don now what to think......i am proud about this phone...n95 five is litle child in face of 82/...!!!i love this phone.........make a new firmware for this phone....i cant takeit anymore....to use my camera like this!!!bugs on rotation screen..10-15 sec to turn back (normal),battery standby time is very low...i mention my phone is new.......!!and the flash player doesn integrate to work with the web browser to see youtube videos and others!!why nokia....doesnt make a NSU who permit to rollback to a older version of softwear(in cause the new one doesnt work corectly)!!!!

I have the same problem. "General: System error. Refresh stopped. 0 files added" after I try to refresh media library.

Just select all contacts (Options -> Mark/unmark -> Mark all) and copy to SIM card (Options -> Copy)

Is there any news on fixing N82 "two date hopping" and "snooze" problems? Does guys from Nokia think about us, or they no longer give support for N82?

Yes really i'm too fed up of this. I had sent nokia a mail but didn't help much. I have a last hope that they make any good firmware ahead. Just waiting. Also V31 hasn't got any changelogs yet after 6 months of release. Lol! They dont care if their user uses a good phone with bugs software in it. Let it go as it is the only solution is to not keep our phone off and use. As switching phones off and on drains battery and lower the battery life, i've my self noticed it and got a new one.

N82 bugs: Please confirm

The light sensor does not seem to work. Earlier in my E61, the keypad would light up only in low light conditions or if you cover the sensor. In N82, the keypad lights up all the time.
Secondly, the "Download" (catalog) does not work. It says "error occured while browsing".
Any N82 users. Please reply...

I have a UK model N82 and my light sensor works ok. I'm in a bright office and the lights are off while i'm texting, if i put my finger over the sensor they light up.
Try setting the sensor to it's highest and lowest settings to see if it still behaves the same way.
My download app works but there's not much in it for the N82 at the moment.

N82 v31 unbreanded bug

hi im new here
ok here it gose i buyed my n82 black 4 months ago and strat away i noties that when i play music with the inbuild music player and playing java games the phone starts to get hot then in a bout 5 mins the phone frezzs then it restart
but it dose it to when playing music and web browsing do you think i need a new battery?

Dude, what do you know about Symbian OS??
actually phoenhacker is right when it comes to symbian. there is a very limited number of annoying programs that can hurt the phone but not really a virus per se for symbian os. it is the safest mobile os out there. now it is usually human error that allows things to go wrong. i would never recommend a anit virus program for symbian as it is a complete waste of money.
dont accept files over bt from unknown sources
use firewall/ani virus software on your COMPUTER
do not use carcked apps on your phone and you are good to go

N79 or N82

Hello all, i am gonna be getting one of these two and i had a few questions
1. Which is better for texting?
2. Which has the better audio quality through the 3.5mm jack?
3. How reliable are they? Are there any current firmware crashes,lock ups, resets etc?
4. I will be taking alot of pictures usually in the daylight so which has the better cam?
5. Which is open to more 3rd party applications?
6. Is it possible to upgrade the n82 to FP2?

I came from the SE series of phones having the D750, K750, W610, W810 and recently the W715 (voda model).
SE wipes the floor off Nokia with texting, and I found this model extra slow by comparison. The keys don't offer any feedback and it's a slow affair as I find I make to keep checking every word to have sure it's right. With SE, you change T9 or 123 by selecting with different keys. Not with Nokia, It just cycles thru with one key making you occasionally start writing numbers or large text where they shouldn't be.
Also, SE's comes with there own dictionary where it stores the words you've used so when you start typing that particular word again, it comes up in a drop down list list which you then scroll down to and select such as my Sisters odd name. No such thing in Nokia it just ask's you everytime to spell the word, again again and again.
When you send a message, you're meant to select a recipent first then type. With SE you can do it anytime. And most annoying of all, when you recieve a text, it it dosen't show who it's from until you open it. And lastly, when receiving a Bluetooth item, it comes up as a text message with the same alert, even if the phone is swithched on silent! Maybe thats a bug in my phone but it's just not right.
