Yes all drivers for USb are installed and i was able to use the usb cable on this pc before. The phones firmware is also the latest.
can anyone help me on this? thanks alot
P.S the USB port on the PC is working with other devices and no the phone doesnt respond on other computers either!

Hi mowaza

  • After sleep, retina MacBook Pro (Mid 2014) does not recognize usb connected mouse movement

    After sleep, retina MacBook Pro (Mid 2014, on 10.9.4) does not recognize usb connected mouse movement. I have tried a generic usb mouse and my Razer Deathadder usb mouse. Both mice work before sleep; but after sleep, the computer no longer recognizes mouse movement while still recognizing the mouse buttons when pressed. Any idea why this is occurring?

    My iPad camera photos will wirelessly sync with my iMac and iCLoud photo stream, but the videos do not, is USB connection the only way to transfer videos or is there also a wireless method?

    Videos are not included with the Photo Stream. Photo Stream is for photos only.
    There is not a wireless method for importing videos from the iPad's Camera Roll.

  • Latest Initrd not recognising USB storage devices?

    Just installed 2.6.30 with all the necessary files. Everything seemed fine, except for one thing: my external USB hard drive is no longer recognised on boot. Here is my fstab and my mkinitcpio.conf.
    # /etc/fstab: static file system information
    # <file system> <dir> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
    none /dev/pts devpts defaults 0 0
    none /dev/shm tmpfs rw,noexec,nosuid 0 0
    #/dev/cdrom /media/cd auto ro,user,noauto,unhide 0 0
    #/dev/dvd /media/dvd auto ro,user,noauto,unhide 0 0
    #/dev/fd0 /media/fl auto user,noauto 0 0
    UUID=139cf76d-425a-4c40-a5b1-bbbf22533d9a /boot ext4 defaults 0 1
    UUID=4eddd177-23f6-49ab-a8ad-d3e1303133e0 / ext4 defaults 0 1
    UUID=ED83-B8D4 /media/flash vfat rw,user,noauto 0 0
    #UUID=ac46c6ae-d9eb-47d4-809b-19a2484b3133 /iomega ext4 rw,noexec,nosuid 0 1
    UUID=ac46c6ae-d9eb-47d4-809b-19a2484b3133 /media/iomega ext4 rw,user,noauto 0 0
    UUID=da9e741f-3525-47c6-8c7f-edf1ded00e7a swap swap defaults 0 0
    As you can see from this, I originally had my external usb drive mounted on /iomega @ boot. However, since that no longer works, I have changed it to /media/iomega and let HAL mount it automatically when I fire up GNOME (the same way I have my flash drive set up). I used the original line with 2.6.29 with no problems.
    The strange thing is, the device is there, because, when it fails, I go into single user mode, remount / read-write and then run mount -a and the device appears with no errors. If I change the line so it doesn't do an fsck on boot, it doesn't mount the device, but I do get an error saying the device is not there. I can then mount it manually at the command prompt.
    The device is shown in /etc/blkid.tab and in /dev/disk/by-uuid.

    # MODULES
    # The following modules are loaded before any boot hooks are
    # run. Advanced users may wish to specify all system modules
    # in this array. For instance:
    # MODULES="piix ide_disk reiserfs"
    MODULES=""
    # BINARIES
    # This setting includes, into the CPIO image, and additional
    # binaries a given user may wish. This is run first, so may
    # be used to override the actual binaries used in a given hook.
    # (Existing files are NOT overwritten is already added)
    # BINARIES are dependancy parsed, so you may safely ignore libraries
    BINARIES=""
    # FILES
    # This setting is similar to BINARIES above, however, files are added
    # as-is and are not parsed in anyway. This is useful for config files.
    # Some users may wish to include modprobe.conf for custom module options,
    # like so:
    # FILES="/etc/modprobe.conf"
    FILES=""
    # HOOKS
    # This is the most important setting in this file. The HOOKS control the
    # modules and scripts added to the image, and what happens at boot time.
    # Order is important, and it is recommended that you do not change the
    # order in which HOOKS are added. Run 'mkinitcpio -H <hook name>' for
    # help on a given hook.
    # 'base' is _required_ unless you know precisely what you are doing.
    # 'udev' is _required_ in order to automatically load modules
    # 'modload' may be used in place of 'udev', but is not recommended
    # 'filesystems' is _required_ unless you specify your fs modules in MODULES
    # Examples:
    # This setup specifies all modules in the MODULES setting above.
    # No raid, lvm2, or encrypted root is needed.
    # HOOKS="base"
    # This setup will autodetect all modules for your system and should
    # work as a sane default
    # HOOKS="base udev autodetect pata scsi sata filesystems"
    # This is identical to the above, except the old ide subsystem is
    # used for IDE devices instead of the new pata subsystem.
    # HOOKS="base udev autodetect ide scsi sata filesystems"
    # This setup will generate a 'full' image which supports most systems.
    # No autodetection is done.
    # HOOKS="base udev pata scsi sata usb filesystems"
    # This setup assembles an pata raid array with an encrypted root FS.
    # Note: See 'mkinitcpio -H raid' for more information on raid devices.
    # HOOKS="base udev pata raid encrypt filesystems"
    # This setup loads an lvm2 volume group on a usb device.
    # HOOKS="base udev usb lvm2 filesystems"
    HOOKS="base udev autodetect pata scsi sata usb keymap filesystems"
    # COMPRESSION
    # Use this to compress the initramfs image. With kernels earlier than
    # 2.6.30, only gzip is supported, which is also the default. Newer kernels
    # support gzip, bzip2 and lzma.
    #COMPRESSION="gzip"
    #COMPRESSION="bzip2"
    #COMPRESSION="lzma"
    This is essentially the same as I had it in 2.6.29. I did initially use LZMA, since that gives slightly faster compression & decompression, but changed it back in case it was a timing issue (and rebuilt initrd). No joy. I also tried usbdelay=10 on boot, but again no difference.
    This isn't exactly a "show-stopper", since the device functions normally otherwise and everything else is fine, but it is annoying. I would much rather have this device available automatically on boot, so that it gets checked when the max mount count comes up.

    This was the bug update I received today:
    FS#15282 - [mkinitcpio] Latest initrd not recognising usb storage devices?
    User who did this - Thomas Bächler (brain0)
    You can never rely on external hard drives to show up "in time".
    The difference was that adding the "usb" hook to mkinitcpio used to add a 6 second delay on boot by default, this doesn't happen anymore. I think external drives simply don't belong in fstab, because there's too many possible race conditions. If you insist, you can try to force the usb storage driver to scan for devices sooner after detection, see the delay_use parameter to the usb-storage module.
    You're going to have to modify the delay_use parameter to get it to work. Be prepared for race conditions, though. I didn't bother myself as it wasn't a show stopper for me, so I've advised that it can be closed as a non-bug.
    ETA: usbdelay=10 doesn't work as that flag is apparently no longer recognised for some reason.
    ETTA: I've always used UUID in the fstab because udev can remap devices on boot (I've had fstab not recognising devices because of this).
    In case some people don't know, to see what the uuid for a device is, use the following:
    sudo tune2fs -l <device-name>

    Hi, did running PC suite cleaner 3.3 work for you? I am having exactly the same problem and tried this. PC suite cleaner didn't seem to run properly. I chose the "other" problem type and it said that it could not create a list of directories, please reboot and try again. I did this but no good. I then reloaded PC suite and got the same results.

    PC suite version is 8.80.21

  • Satellite Pro A200-PSAE7E is not recognising USB Sennheiser Headset

    Any one can let me know why my toshiba Satellite Pro A200 - PSAE7E is not auto recognising USB Sennheiser headphones?

    What do you mean with auto recognising them? As far as I know the Sennheiser ones with USB connection have a built in soundcard and therefore you would need to install the drivers.
    Had Sennheisers too, but with normal stereo jack and not the USB ones. Maybe you could post the specific name of your model.
    And to check if your system find your headphones anyway, go to control panel - system - device manager and watch if something changes, when you plug in your headphones.

  • PC Suite not recognising any connection

    Having recently updated to the newer model 6120c from my previous 6230i I reinstalled PC Suite for ease of transferring data from my PC to my handset but have found that when I reach the 'Get Connected' page of the installation where it asks me to 'Select the connection type' I have no options active at all and when I make certain that the phone is connected to the cable which is fully plugged into a USB port it still will not show any active options for me to select from. I had no problems connecting the previous 6230i via the cable connection and am currently at a loss on how to solve this issue. It may be with the limited amount of services that I have running that I may have inadvertantly turned off an essential service that is required to have PC Suite running. Or maybe it could be that I have a selective start up, but upon investigating the system config utility I do note that there is a launch application checked for a Nokia service to start up so at this point I am open to any helpful suggestions that may assist in the solution to my problem.
    Thanks in advance for any help on this issue.

    PC Operating System: XP Pro SP2
    Connection Method: Cable
    Handset: Nokia 6120c (Classic)
    PC Suite Version: 6.84.78.3

    Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002
    Service Pack 2
    Nokia PC Suite 7.1.18.0
    Cable Type: DKE-2
     I have a problem with PC suite; it doesn’t allow me to connect to my Nokia N95 and maybe my other Nokia phones; as the get connected wizard shows three greyed out options. These options are Cable connection, Infrared connection and Bluetooth connection. These are found under the select connection type. I have already un and then reinstalled three times, tried to repair the installation and installed the drivers separately. The previous 7.0 version worked fine, but by updating I can no longer connect my phone through PC suite mode. Data transfer, image print and media player work fine. The USB symbol does appear on top of the phone screen, but still no phone connected.
     When I click on ‘click here to connect a phone’ a
    Menu pops up:
    Get Connected - Troubleshoot Titled  Problems with Infrared connection?  I don’t even have infrared or Bluetooth on my laptop.
    The computer does however make a noise to show that something has been connected to the laptop, “tun-nuh” when I connect via PC suit mode.
     When I click on one touch access, it says no phones connected, there are no Nokia modems installed, make sure you have installed Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver software. Settings spanner icon, Select modem, and from here I can chose Nokia N95 USB Modem, and then my network operator.
     Sometimes when I connect the phone, it says the USB device is not recognised and has malfunctioned. But, when I continue to replug into the different sockets; it starts to install new device found Nokia N95, phone parent, sync-ml… until it finally says your new device is ready.
     Please do help, if you can.
    Thank you!

  • Not recognising USB card reader and also PhotoBooth issue

    Hi,
    I'm a new member and a bit of a numpty when it comes to Mac (new owner).
    My Macbook Pro is giving me some grief tonight and I have 2 separate (i think) issues.
    It will not recognise my USB card reader. It worked fine last week and I did eject it properly before removing it. I've tried the card reader on a PC and it is working fine....
    Also when I go to open Photo Booth it tells me that my camera is not connected or in use by another program. But as you know the camera is built in!?!?!
    I'd be very grateful for any thoughts on how I might fix the problems. The nearest Mac store is 2 hours away....
    Many thanks in advance

  • IPod 4th gen grayscale will not detect usb connection.

    Hello everyone, I have a iPod 4th gen grayscale and I'm running Ubuntu, everything has worked well for about a year now, I have been syncing my iPod through VirtualBox with Windows XP for as long as I have been using Linux, though, for some reason, my iPod has stopped noticing my usb being connected, I know it's not the usb cable, or the usb ports, I have restarted my iPod and put it into disk mode, still no luck, restarted my computer, Linux will not detect anything plugged in, nor will Windows, though my iPod shows the battery charging when plugged in, but iTunes will not detect the iPod.
    I have switched the hard drive of the iPod out seeing if that was the problem, still no luck, my car dock will pick up the iPod and play music, so will my other docks, I thought it might of been Linux at first, so I plugged it into my desktop with Vista, it also will not detect it.
    Does anyone have an answer to this riddle?

    A bad USB hub will cause the problem ... are you using it ??

    First of all, try another port on your computer. Some ports are not connected direct to the motherboard and do not recognize the iPod as well as those that are. Reset the iPod each time you connect it to another port.
