N82 PROBLEM

i HAVE N82 with FIRMWARE v31 & NOKIA MAPS 3.0 with INDIA & USA's MAPs LOADED into my mobile using MAP LOADER.
But now i have 2 problems:
1} THE CLOCK of N82.
When the phone is turned on it works perfectly, but as s00n as i turn 0fF the mobile the clock stops.So if i had turned off the mobile at 6.00pm & once again on it @ 8.00pm then the time in the CLOCK would be 6.00pm.i Dont know why is this happening.
2} GPS DOESNT WORK.
i have NOKIA MAPS 3.0 with INDIA & USA's MAPs LOADED into my mobile using MAP LOADER.i can go through the maps, if i Z00M IN i can seee the places.But as i try to see MY POSITION it doesnt show i have waited for around 1hr but it doesnt show {usually in N82 in HALF-A-MINUTE My position is shown.}THen when i try to use DRIVE TO OPTION the voice tellls "NO GPS".WHy is this happening.

N82 - problem with GPS navigation

I loaded all necessary Nokia maps, and have problem.
Everything is working fine, options “route to/from” is working, simulation also, but when order “start navigation”, program immediately shutdown.
Is this problem familiar to anyone? Any experience for solution?

I've just tested it on my N82 and it works ok.
Have you tried deleting your maps and reinstalling them?
I'm using a UK N82 and the maps were pre-installed on a 2GB card when I bought it.
Firmware version is V10.0.046

Nokia N82 , problem with contacts

I have a nokia N82 ,
but the problem is ,suppose i have a contact saved as michael and no. is suppose 8768655435.
When Michael calls it displays both the name and the number ,it exposes the contact no. which i dont like ?
I want to set it as only name should appear and not the no.
any help any 1

Help ! n82 problem..

help me...i cant start my n82...i press the on button , it vibrate and stuck at a black screen..after take out battery and restart many times , still the same...

I have exactly the same problem since JANUARY when Nokia returned my phone exactly that way! yes, you are reading right, Nokia broke my n82 (initially, i send it in DECEMBER for a simple vibrant problem which was a fabrication problem) since then i'm fighting to get a refund or a new phone, you can't even imagine how i'm **bleep** of (excuse me for the language but sending a phone 3x times to the Care Service and waiting 3months for nothing makes people kinda nervous!
First time=> 4weeks=> simple vibrant problem (never knew if it was solved cuz i never managed to start the phone)
second time=> 3weeks=> the BLACK/WHITE SCREEN problem seemed solved...but it lasted few hours before blocking again while writing a simple text message
third time=>1week=> send the phone back on the 28FEBRUARY still waiting....
ps:2 things are certain from my little experience, I'm over with Nokia and surely this post will get erased as I'm complaining on a Nokia forum.

N82 problems... anyone else having them?

I love this phone to death (I only wish it had a slightly bigger screen with touchscreen capability but oh well) but am having some issues:
*Almost every time I play a video using Smart Movie Player the phone freezes completely, requiring taking the battery out and in and then restarting the phone.
*Random reboots when web browsing (maybe related to Wi-FI).
*Reboot caused by putting heaphones/TV-Out jack in the socket.
The WI-Fi and headphones bugs are irritating but I can live with them providing they are fixed in some new firmware, but the video freezing issue is a major hindrance! Has anyone else experienced this (or any other bugs), and have any ideas on how to sort it out... maybe a complete factory reset of the phone could help? When is the next firmware update due?

I don't have the wi-fi problem, i've had the phone for nearly a month and it's yet to reboot once, I use wi-fi a lot too.
Mine has never crashed when using headphones or tv out.
Are you using nokia's video player or smartmovie?
I've not had any issue's with nokia's and if you are having problems with smartmovie you need to contact it's developer for support.
A full reset may cure your issues, it's worth a try.
There is no news on a firmware update yet as there hasn't been many overall problems with the N82. We should see an update within the next few months that adds flash light 3 support.
If your phone is network branded then this could be the cause of the troubles.

N82 Problem of synchronization with PC Suite

I just bought a N82 last week. And of course I want to synchronize my outlook address book into the new cell phone. How ever the poblem happened when I using PC Suite. The following is the details.
Enviroment:
Nokia PC Suite version 7.0.7.0
PC OS - Windows XP SP2
Outlook - version 2003 build 11.6568
Problem description:
I installed the PC suite, and connected with my N82 by USB line. The connection is OK. But synchornizing with outlook is always fail with a message. I tried to test some more functions with PC Suite. And the results are listed below:
1. Backup and Restore. Works OK only for the N82 itself, which means I can backup address book, short message from my N82 and restore them to the cell phone from the PC. However, when I tried to restore the address book of my old 7360 to N82, it failed. Maybe the problem is caused by incompitable data format of different type of cell phone.
2. Synchronization with outlook. It totally failed with a warning 'PC data synchroniztion software encounted a problem, the synchronaztion has been terminated.' I don't know what's wrong with it.
3. Nokia Communication Center. Totally failed. I cannot synchronize my N82's address book and short message onto the PC. And also I cannot save the new contacts created on the PC back into N82. Similar with short message. When I create a new message on my PC and try to send it through N82. It failed.
4.Nokia Image Store. Works OK. I can download my graphics and videos onto PC.
That's all for my test. The biggest problem is that all the way I can find to get the address info from my old phone to new N82 cannot work. I really don't want to input hundreds of lists one by one.
In order to avoid any conflicting with other software, I also try to install the PC suite with a total clear XP system. The result is the same. I really don't know what's wrong, can anyone help me? Thanks a lot.

If i tried to sync, it synched properly, if i try to send SMS it sent properly, more vitally, it was reflecting on both PC and on the phone. When i tried to create a new contact Test, it was created and saved successfully on the phone
In XP SP-2, 32 bit i can do above things without any problems
You can try to create new settings on PC Sync and check and also make sure that all your calender and contact entries are proper and do not have any spcl character, unwanted blank space, if calender entries are there check their end dates and sync settings etc., Hope it should work without any issues ... N82 problems wih map loader.

I'm trying to use the map loader on an N82. I connect the USB, select "Data transfer" on the phone, and then on the PC run the map loader.
At this point I get "No storage medium detected" error message, and the phone flashes "Unable to activate data transfer mode. Data card is in use by another application".
I've exited the media player, and can't think of what else could be using the card (yes, there is a card plugged in).
Anyone else experience this? I had no such hassle with an N73 (lots of other hassle, but not specifically this one)

N82 Problem with blitz

Sometimes my blitz dont flash, its hapend on auto and manual, often after some pictures. Everybody else with this problem ?

Have you read the manual? I think there might be a recovery time for the battery when taking many pictures in a short time.

Hey all, been searching through this forum, several other and the web..
But I cant find a solution that works for me..
I've tried both with and without proxy but it all comes down

Here are my settings;
Profile name: Home

Registration: Always On
Use security: no
Registrar server

It seems that it can connect, I mean find the server.. but it then fails.. as I get that fail message above..
So.. is this a N82 problem or Asterisk one?
For those who know, here is the sip.conf part for Asterisk;

and the extension file;
[internal]
exten => 1235,1,Dial(SIP/n82)
So, for me it seems that everything is just correct.. except the authentication, what do you guys think?

well I opened up the ports 10000-10100 and then it actually started to work..
but it only worked one way however; if I called with the N82 to my computer it was all fine, but if I called from the
computer I couldn't hear anything on the N82..
now however it doesnt matter if I call from the computer or the phone, I just cant hear anything on the N82..
I searched both the nokia page for the N82 and on google, but I couldnt find out which codecs it likes..
so it is just set to auto, or something, in asterisk..
I also have some various problems, recreatable..
My home computer 1 to my home computer 2, both on separate ips and not on the same network as the server..
Calling from either one to the other, it starts the call but when I accept the receiving computer just says "initiating.." while the calling think the call is all ok..
when I call friend 1 he can hear me all fine, but I cant hear him..
when I call friend 2 he cannot hear me and I cannot hear him..
friend 1 is not behind any firewall or anything that blocks communication..
friend 2 is behind the same kind of router as I am, but he also opened 10000-10100 if that could have done something, but no change..
it feels like I'm screwed on settings at the moment, is there any solution to all this?
is it possible to go back to a whole clean setup without reinstalling asterisk?
EDIT:
I put both computers on the same network, behind the router for the server and then this happens;
Computer to Computer the same, just tried to initiate, but nothing happens..
Phone to computer; sound two-ways, everything works!
Computer to phone; like before only computer hear, phone cant hear a thing..

N82 screen rotate - carousel error

firmware 20.0.062 in N82
Problem: Every time i rotate my phone i have this error: Carousel error (-6) with beep sound (so it stops music playing) and it's really annoying. How to fix that problem, any ideas? (turning auto-rotation off is not an option of course).

Try factory Reset(*#7780#)which resets all settings to defaults but keeps any applications you have installed and photos etc. Both need the Security code, which, by default, is 12345.

Problem with WLAN in Nokia N82

I can't set correct key in settings for WLAN connect.
Access Point use Pre-Shared Key Format: Hex (64 characters)
Phone allow to input only 63 characters.
Model of Phone Nokia N82.
Can anybody help me in this problem?

Hi,
It appears that Nokia haven’t implemented the standard fully. According to our router the Pre-Shared Key Format should be either 8-63 characters OR 64 Hex digits.
See the section on “Security in pre-shared key mode”

But the N82 is only accepting the 8-63 character setting not the Hex option.

PCSuite problem : N82 cannot sync calendar with Ou...

Just got N82 and found myself can't synchronize it with the Outlook calendar.
I use Windows XP Service Pack 2
MS Outlook 2003
NOKIA PC Suite version 6.85.14.1
The probs occurred when connect through Cable as well as connect through Bluetooth
Once I start the sync program in PC Suite everything seems to work very well, contact synchronization, notes, .. but not the calendar.
After a while this message appear

Pairing problems between my new nokia n82 and blue...

I tried pairing up my n82 and bh-208 last night, but couldn't get it to work. The n82 recognised other bluetooth devices. My bluetooth was definitely working, as I had used it earlier with another mobile fone. I've followed all the instructions and paired other bluetooth headsets before, but no luck this time, even after trying several times. Any suggestions?

i had same problem, i just kept chimping about until it finally gave in and connected. no idea what happened, possibly that you can connect TO the phone, but it won't connect TO OTHERS, but y, that is the question. come on NokNok....what's the fix?

N82 screen problem.

I ran across an ad in which the guy was selling his n82 for $180, called him up, we met, and the phone has a weird problem with the screen. It is extremely dim (can;t see anything in bright light), but can see better when it's dark around. Don't really know how to describe it.The backlight works alright. He told me he flashed it and that's when it happened (which i seriously doubt).Could it be a bad screen and the replacement would fix it? Or could it be something more serious?

You might want to take steps first to make sure that it is in fact a Nokia, not a fake. Then move on to see if he is still under warranty and see if you can get that taken care of.
It just sounds a bit suspicious, that a 400$ phone would be sold for 180.. but you never know with people these days

N82 USB problem with win7

I have a problem when ejecting my phone. I use windows 7 ultimate 64bit. When i try to eject it, it says that you can remove your hardware safely but when i remove my device the device says some data might be lost.
When i was using XP it didn't have the problem. Is it something that i have missed?
