N82 Query: Which internet connection option to use...

I have a data bolt on with O2 for 120 mb of monthly internet use. Which of these shall I use to access the web: 02 MMS, O2 MOBILE WEB, 02 WAP GPRS or O2 WAP GPRS STREAM.

Best would be to use the setting with no proxies or ports. Those work the best for internet.
Normally labeled "WEB" or "Internet" as the connection name.
Otherwise simply get your networks APN, create a new connection and simply put in the Acess Point Name you aquired and it should work perfectly.

Do you have access to another computer so you could download another browser, perhaps onto a USB stick and then install it on your Mac just to see if the problem is Safari specific:

Lost Open Internet Connection option for wireless on my tool bar

Does anyone know how I can bring back the Open Internet Connection option on my tool bar? I'm hoping if I can open that it will help me solve why I can't connect to the land line in my office. [email protected]

Open *System Preferences* and the choose Network. Pick Airport. At the bottom next to the Options button see if the *Show AirPort status in menu bar* is checked. Check it and it should pop back where it was.
If it's PPPoE click it and there will be a similar choice to show it in the menu bar.

Configure internet connection - how to use compute...

Hi All,
Just received a new Nokia phone with GPS and installed OVI suite.
I tried to figure out how to use my computer inter setting to get content for my phone (maps etc..).
The OVI suite doesn't detect my internet connection used on my computer but always tries to connect using my phone.
There exists the manual option but I don't know which setting to fill in: "access point", "user name" and password.
These seems like a very simple thing, but I didn't figure it out.
On my computer I have a LAN connection and wireless connection. Don't know why OVI suite doesn't detect these automatically.

ps: I already learned from my internet searches that OVI suite is no fun to use.

For any content other than Maps.. Download it on to your PC.. Then connect the phone to install it... For Maps... connect your phone to PC using the USB cable (PC Suite Mode).. Launch OVI Suite and go to Maps in its Menu. After some time the Phone will set up and when the OVI Suite connects to the Maps server you will see the list of countries.. Select the Maps you want and follow instruction on the screen.. It will be downloaded and installed on the phone in due time. It will not use the Phone internet but the PC's internet connection...
BTW which phone do you have ?

Nokia C65 does not show me which Internet connecti...

I have a Nokia C65, and, to this day, I am not sure what operating system does it use, how do I check?
What worries more than this is that I have configured different connections including a WAP connection - provided by my telecommunications operator - Go plc, and, a number of WLAN connections configured so that when I am at the hospital, at home, at work - usually sitting on the loo , and, at a few places where WiFi is available - I can browse, check my email and keep on working.
The problem is that I receive bills from my mobile phone operator who would have deducted data roaming charges to my account, and, I am not sure how to control the connection that the mobile phone is using when browsing the Internet. Sometimes I am prompted, but lately I am not. However, the Internet connection setting reads 'Ask first'.
Does this issue happen to anyone else, or is it just me who is weird?
By the way any idea where do I download an application which takes screenshots from my mobile phone?
Is there a PC emulator for Nokia C65?

A strange Internet connectivity error whern using IE 9

Hello,
I experience very strange Internet connectivity issue which happens specifically with Capital One Banking site. I wonder if somebody else already reported the same problem.
I'm on Windows 7 machine with Verizon DSL connection and uses both Internet Explorer 9 and Firefox 4.0.
The same thing happenes every time I try to use IE to make a payment. A first payment screen opens normally, but after she enters payment information and hit Continue it starts to spin and after a couple of minutes of fruitful attempts it BREAKS Internet connection!
Windows allows to fix Internet connections settings, normally blaming bad default gateway settings. Then it is enough to open your site in IE and try to pay to break it again.
Firefox, on the other end, works normally and allows to pay. So, it looks like an error in IE, but really strange one.
I also have another Win 7 machine and IE 9; the only difference is that it is on Comcast Cable rather than on Verizon DSL. There I can pay to Capital One using IE 9 without any problems. So, it must be a combination of IE bug and Verizon Internet settings, I guess.

Are the machines by any chance using different Security Software or have you by any chance installed Verizon software onto the PC hooked into the DSL service?

Lose Internet Connection When I Use IChat

I lose my internet connection after using my IChat after a few minutes. This happens every time and I have to unplug and plug my my three boxes. My phone is connected to my internet so I lose my phone connection as well. Very annoying. Anyone know what is going on here?

Is this a new box with the phone connection ?

Depends on what input plug you'll be using on your TV. VGA, DVI, Composite or HDMI. You'll need a Mini-DVI adapter and a cable from that to your TV. If you connect the MacBook using a Mini-DVI to HDMI adapter you will probably need to use external speakers or a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to RCA sound plugs connected to a stereo system for audio if your TV doesn't have separate RCA input plugs or a 3.5mm stereo input plug for audio with the HDMI plug. The Mini-DVI to HDMI doesn't carry audio and there're no audio plugs on most TVs to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI.

Cannot establish internet connection for netbook using WRT310N on desktop

I cannot get my new Acer netbook to connect to the internet using my wireless home network. I connected to the network, with excellent signal strength, but just can't connect to the internet. My desktop pc, which is the computer that the network runs from, connects without a problem. No problem with gaming adapters, either. I have no problem connecting the netbook wirelessly at work, in hotels, etc. - just at home?? I am new to the wireless network (have had it less than a year). Who is your ISP?
When you Hardwired your Laptop to your Router are you able to access Internet on your Laptop? As you have mentioned that you are connected to your Wireless Network but unable to Logon to Internet.
When your computer is Hardwired to the Router, you can login to the setup page of your Router and then click on the Status tab and under the Status tab check if you are able to find Internet IP address?
On your computer Wireless Computer.... Click on Start - RUN - CMD and click Ok.... Now in the Command Prompt window type "ipconfig" and hit enter and check if the IP address of the Wireless Network Adapter is in the range of your Router.... You can post the Details in your next post.

Internet connection lost when using Windows with Parallels 5

A couple of months ago I installed Parallels 5 and Windows 7 thinking I'd need to use it some day and of course I went to use Windows on my MacBook Pro today only to find that I can't connect to the internet via Windows. It keeps telling me that I need to install a network adapter. I'm using Airport to connect me to a Netgear wireless router which works fine in Mac OS X. I thought perhaps connecting to the router directly with an ethernet cable might work - it didn't. I've also had a quick play under the DEVICES menu in Parallels (taking a guess at some settings, with no luck).
I would appreciate any suggestions - thanks in advance

Did you install the Parallels Tools package? It includes drivers that link the Windows virtual machine to OS X.
That is to say, there should be a command in one of the Parallels Desktop menus (have Parallels but not version 5) that installs this package into the VM. You may need to REinstall if it didn't take the first time.

Query regarding internet connection on PB

I have a PB but dont have a wifi or BB smartphone with me. Thinking to buy one smartphone may be samsung note or S2.. Jut wanted 2 know if its compulsory to have BB smartphoone to bridge with PB for accessing internet on PB or even with other smartphones like Samsung Note or S2 also i can access internet on Playbook...

Yes the Samsung Galaxy Note allows you to create a personal hotspot to enable the PB to connect to use the internet.
I was able to do so successfully on my son's Samsung Galaxy.
For that matter any smart phones like the iPhone 4s will work too.
