N82 recent calls list bug

I have noticed in the recent calls list on my N82 that a mobile phone icon is shown no matter what type of call you have made or received, eg: if you make or receive a call to or from a home/telephone number that is listed in your contacts, you will only see the mobile phone icon in the recent calls list, this is a major firmware bug because when you check your recent calls you won't be able to tell if the call dialed or received was from or to a mobile or home/telephone number.
Can someone confirm this is infact a bug, or am i the only one.
Thanks!
Phone: Nokia 5800 ExpressMusic (RM-356)
Firmware: 40.0.005

Yes, I've the same problem on my N82.
This is not acceptable since this is a simple standard phone feature in today's mobile phone.
I love my N82 except this BIG bug.

What is the Recent Call List Limit for an iPhone 5s?
Can you view the entire Recent Call List Limit from the screen?
Today, as I would delete a call from the list, an older call would appear at the bottom of the list.
    Thanks!

The Recent call list will display the last 100 calls.
You can scroll through the list to see from the beginning to end.

How can I delete the recent calls list in FaceTime of my Mac?

    Hello muchaim,
After reviewing your post, it sounds like you want to delete the recent call list. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
FaceTime for Mac (Yosemite): Make and receive FaceTime calls
FaceTime keeps a list of the most recent calls you made, received, or declined, with the most recent call at the top. To return a call, click the Video button  or the Audio button . To remove a call, select it and press Delete.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I had to restore my iPhone 4s and now my recent calls show only phone numbers instead of the contact's name.  How can I restore the names to my recent calls list?

Are the contact details in your contacts app, the phone app uses the contact app to put names against telephone numbers.

  • HT201394 Why are some of my contacts randomly showing as 'no caller id' in my recent calls list?

I updated to ios 8.0.2 yesterday and now when I go into my recent caller list lots of the numbers are showing up as 'No Caller ID' even thought they are in my contacts list, were showing up correctly before I updated, and when you go into the 'No Caller Id' number it shows the contact details.  It isn't even uniform as to which contacts are affected with the same number sometimes showing correctly and other times showing no caller id.  Is anyone else having this problem and can anyone tell me how I can fix this?  So far I am not loving ios 8.0.2 one bit!!

I'm also having this problem on my iPhone 5 with iOS 8.1.2 installed.
In case it helps anyone to see the problem this is what my Recents list looks like in the Phone app (I have greyed out the two names it did randomly recognize). There does not appear to be any coherent pattern to this. All of the 'No Caller ID's listed are from people in my Contacts, as you can see it recognizes that they are from a mobile, work or other number and when you hit the i for more info the person's full contact details are displayed as per their entry in my Contacts app.
Restarting the phone has not solved it, neither has leaving the app open for a while. I know this is an old photo but it is still happening randomly with some new calls.

  • Contact Names in Recent Call List

When someone calls me their name does not appear on screen or in recent call list.  Only their number shows.  When I call someone by tapping on their number from contact list, only their number shows on the screen and then in recent call list.

Tell Apple you'd like to see this:

There is no setting on your phone to do so.

  • How do i edit numbers in the recent call list?

I'm using iOS 5.0.1 on the 4s currently
Can anyone tell me how to edit the contact numbers in the recent call list? Eg. I would need to add a certain prefix in front of the number to return an overseas call in my recent call list. I tried to copy n paste the number after adding the prefix manually via keypad, but this method erases the prefix. Is there any other way to do this besides saving a different number in my contact list?

As it happens, I use my "Recent Applications" menu as a list of "favourite" apps more than as a way to access recent apps. I won't go into too many details of "why", but I do have the "Finder" in there.
I am using "Panther" so I don't know if this still works, but try opening "/Applications" > "Utilities" > "Terminal.app" and entering this command:<pre>defaults write com.apple.recentitems apps -array-add '/System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app'</pre>It may be necessary to log out and back in again for the change to take effect, or the change at least may only be active in apps launched after modification of the file. There may also be issues related to the number of items in the list - it may be necessary to increase the "Number of recent Applications" through "System Preferences", or else clearing the list before entering the above command.
I also keep my "com.apple.recentitems.plist" file "locked" - this prevents items from being dropped through non-use. Despite being "locked", the menu does update during a login session so I still get some "recent item" functionality from the menu. Everything does of course revert to the saved state for the next login, however.
Regarding the "Dock", in "Panther", after "hiding" the "Dock", it is relatively easy to "pause" or restart it, repectively, using:<pre>killall -STOP Dock
killall -CONT Dock</pre>Perhaps these commands could be incorporated into an "AppleScript" application and added to "Recent Applications". However, you will also lose the use of ⌘-Tab application switching, Exposé, widgets, and the ability to minimize windows while the "Dock" is paused. Alternatively, there are a number of preference settings that can be applied to the Dock's ".plist" file to minimize its obtrusiveness without affecting other "Dock.app" functions. However, it will be more difficult to toggle between the two states than simply pausing the whole app...

  • HT2458 How do i make my voicemail look kind of like my recent calls list?

Right now i have to Call my voice mail but my friend told me that you could make your voicemail a list like the recent calls list. Please help me i am super confused.

if your with an official US carrier what you are refering to is visual voicemail.
Go to settings then general, then Cellular.
There turn cellular data off, then back on.
Now go to voicemail and add your voicemail password, now you should have visual voicemail.

    No.
You got 2 more basic troubleshooting steps left before you make an appointment with the Apple genius bar for an evaluation:
    Restore from backup
    Restore as new

  • It opens into my recent calls list rather than the home screen

Every time I receive a call when my phone is 'asleep' the phone goes back to sleep state when the call is hung up. As it should.
Weirdness is though…when I next wake the phone it always opens straight into my recent calls list, rather than the home screen.
It only happens on incoming calls, and only when the call is received while the phone's asleep.
I've done a restore (for something else) but it didn't remedy this.
    Anyone else seeing the same?

Sure about what? That there is nothing wrong with your phone or that the OS works that way...the answer is yes to both questions. Works the same if you go into settings but let the phone go to sleep, next time you unlock your phone, you'll be in settings. If you don't want your phone to do that, hit the home button after a call.

  • RECENT CALLS LIST

How do I clear just "one" selected entry in the recent calls list. The menue presents me with a "CLEAR ALL" button - but don't want to do that yet.

Unfortunately, you can't delete them one at a time. Perhaps a software update in the future will provide this functionality. Until then you can leave feedback for apple here:

  • My recent calls list shows 4294967295 missed calls

The recent calls list is not working at all. Do you have a solution for me its pretty anoying?! I also restored my iphone twice with no succes!

Try this: Force quit the Phone App by double tapping the Home button and swipe upwards on the App preview for "Phone"
    if if this doesn't work:
A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure.

  • Disorganized recent calls list (Recents)

I'm writing this because I have been frustrated since 2007 with the iPhone's Recents or recent calls list. I have had other smartphones and dumbphones and they have all had better organized recent calls lists. It's incredible to me that Apple hasn't changed this and their own employees can't possibly be satisfied with how it works! If you agree please take a moment to put in a request on the feedback page. Thank you.
The main problem is that calls to and from the same number will appear on different lines in the list. ALL calls from and to the same number should be consolidated! The most recent call is the one you should see, whether it be a missed call or the one you made. THEN when you tap on the arrow, you should see the entire history of the calls to and from that number.
I am a heavy phone user at times depending on business and personal events. If I am calling and receiving calls from a particular person or persons multiple times during the day, then soon my recent calls list is full of entries from just those few numbers! Then that one new number that I call or receive gets buried and lost among all these repeated entries to/from the same frequently dialed numbers.
The MAIN PURPOSE of a Recents list is to QUICKLY find and access a recent phone number. The way iPhone works does not accomplish this!
Another frustrating aspect is that when I delete some repeated entries, it will be combined (added to the history) with another entry of the same number. Ok great, but this doesn't always happen. PLUS, I shouldn't have to perform manual maintenance on this list to keep it clear and concise anyway - it should be automatic!!
Thank you. I am going to have a cookie (NOT an Apple) to help calm down. Arrgh.

Yes, I like it that way. I find it makes it very easy to find missed calls that I need to return.
