N82: Settings: Memory full

Some times ago, after installing a theme i began to experience annoying "Memory full" error message.
Each opening of Settings produces "Memory full" message, no settings are any more accessible...
Since then i have uninstalled that theme and some pictures, there is sufficient RAM (no other applications are running), main and card memory.
Do not want to reset firmware yet...
Any ideas?

I am having problems setting up my 6230i to access WAP,MMS and E-Mail, I have tried to obtain the settings to do this by SMS, and when the codes come back and I try to save them, I get a message to say that only 20 sets are allowed and the latest settings have been discarded.
How do I delete some of these settings in order to make room for the correct settings.
I want to be able to access my current e-mail account as set up on my home PC.
    All assistance welcome.

    Hi,
I think you have to delete unnecessary configuration settings. Select Menu > Settings > Configuration > Default configuration settings. Scroll to a service provider, perhaps select Details to check the services of this provider. If you are sure you do not need this services, select Options > Delete to delete the provider from the list. If you want to delete more, select the next provider, and so on. In this way you will have space for new settings.

  • LG Ally text message memory full

I have had this phone for a little over a month now and I get the message "text memory full" all the time. I have 2 conversations open all the time and I clear them once a week. Other than that I don't have tons of messages. I looked online and it said to clear my cache. Well when I tried to do that it helped some but I deleted all my  live backgrounds that came on the phone and that I use, and now I can't figure out how to get them back. I really like the phone but I'm tired of having to clear all of this stuff every so often. I have never had that with any phone and I don't get a warning to clear stuff before it happens. Does anyone have any suggestions????

I have given some steps below that may be helpful when getting the “text memory full” message.
    Check your messaging options:
-Click the icon button (the one with the 32 little boxes’)
    -Click on the messages icon
-Click your menu button (the hard key with the 4 vertical lines)
    -Select settings
-Delete old messages (I would recommend checking this option, as it ensure the limit is not reached)
-Test message limit (change to desired number, the bigger the number, the better)
I would also recommend occasionally (as needed) deleting some of the threads as well.
-Click the icon button (the one with the 32 little boxes’)
    -Click the messages icon
-Click menu button (the hard key with the 4 vertical lines)
    -Select Delete Threads
I would also recommend checking the devices memory (I have listed those instructions below
-Click the icon button (the one with the 32 little boxes’)
    -Click on the settings icon
-Click SD card & Phone Storage
-Available space should give you a number in MB’s (megabytes)
Lastly, I would recommend stopping any applications that don’t need to be running. For instructions click HERE.
    Hope this helps!

  • Nokia C5-03 SIM memory full... but NO SIM MESSAGES...

Hello everyone. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, I'm new here.
Recently my C5-03 has a flashing envelope on the screen saying the SIM memory is full.
I searched on Google and found some topics saying to go to Messages -> SIM messages and delete them...
But problem is... no SIM messages appear! I'm desperate and can't find any other solution... what can I do?!

    Hi Hardstylehunt3r,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Nokia discussion forums.
Sorry to hear about your issue but there certain steps you can try to resolve this issue.
Memory full messages may occur if there are too many applications running at the same time or if there is not enough free space in the phone memory. Depending on the error message, the following actions can be taken:
"Memory Full: Close some applications and try again"
In this case there are too many applications active at the same time. The problem can be fixed by closing some of the applications:
Long press the Menu key to see the list of active applications.
Select the applications which are not needed and close them.
If this doesn't help, switch off and restart the phone.
"Memory Full: Delete or remove some data from C: Phone memory"
The phone notifies you if the phone memory or memory card memory is getting low. There can be different error messages shown this situation, e.g.:
"Memory Full: Delete or remove some data from C: Phone memory"
"Disk Full : Automatic retrieval of mailbox for exchange disabled"
To free phone memory, transfer some data to the memory card with the File mgr application (select Menu > Applications > File mgr.). Select or mark files to be moved, select Options >Organise > Move to folder and then the destination folder.
In order to free memory, you could also remove or move the following:
Messages from Inbox, Drafts and Sent folders in Messaging.
Retrieved e-mail messages from the phone memory.
Saved Web pages. Clear the web browser cache to free some memory (select Options > Clear privacy data > Cache).
Saved images, videos, or sound files.
    Contact information.
    Calendar notes.
    Downloaded application packages.
If there are applications which are not needed any more, uninstall them (select Menu > Settings > Data mgr. > App.mgr. > Installed apps.).
Any other data that you no longer need
If possible, use the memory card instead of phone memory in the Camera application (selectOptions > Settings > Memory in use to define the memory where the images are stored). You can also use Nokia Suite to transfer images and video clips to your PC.
If you are deleting multiple items and any of the following notes are shown: Not enough memory to perform operation. Delete some data first or Memory low. Delete some data, try deleting items one by one (starting from the smallest item).
    Or you can try this:
To release the phone memory and change the email store from the phone memory to the memory card, follow the steps below.
Select Menu > Messaging and Options > Settings > Other.
Select  Memory in use> Memory card.
To question Copy all messages to the new message memory?, select Yes.
To question Save original messages?, select No if you want to release the phone memory or select Yes if you wish to keep the original messages in the phone memory.
Alternatively you can sync your phone with Nokia suite and clear the messages that way if it is not showing on your device. Full instructions on how to sync can be found on the follwing link:
    http://support.ovi.com/osc/en_GB/service/ovi_on_your_computer/howto/support-suite-syncing-and-backin...,
If this doesnt help you can try doing a soft reset by inputting code *#7780#. This wont delete any data but rather reset your phone settings. If the device ask for a default code this is usually 12345.
There's a lot to try to resolve here so give it a go and let me know if any helps.
    Regards

  • Nokia C5-03 Error: Memory full. Close some applica...

    Hi,
I purchased this phone mainly to use for Navigation and phone, but disappointed by the error shows up every time when you are in need while using Map.
I do not have any extra applications running other than it came with. I have closed all the running application which running map. Phone software and Map is upto date with version (V22.0.007 and 2.45 on map) Earlier versions also same problem. Currently the available memory shows 27.2 MB)
I tried all the solutions given in /t5/Hardware-Codes-and-Operator/Nokia-C5-03-SIM-memory-full-but-NO-SIM-MESSAGES/m-p/1260683#M25236, but no use. Same error.
Is there any way out other than choosing another phone and brand?

Moderator's notes: Post moved into it's own thread.

I am completely frustrated with this phone (Nokia C5-03). I originally wanted a smartphone but didn't want to buy the brand leader like everyone else so I thought I could rely on a Nokia.  I have had this phone for less than 12 months now and I have already done a full reset TWICE and have lost all of my information.  On both occasions when the memory problems starting occurring with the phone I tried to back up my info to my PC but the phone told me that I had "not enough memory to perform operation"!!!! I am now getting memory full messages every 10 minutes and the phone will do nothing for me.
There is nothing left on the phone to delete.  I had my email synched to the phone originally for about two weeks but had to get rid of it as it was slowing the phone down.  I never connect to the internet with the phone - I mean NEVER. In browsing the web for solutions I am constantly finding varied and interesting comments about clearing the cache via the web app (I cannot connect to the web on the phone now - NOT ENOUGH MEMORY TO PERFORM OPERATION) and connecting my phone to a PC and browsing the memory to find out what the "other files" are (NOT ENOUGH MEMORY TO PERFORM OPERATION) or even downloading software onto the computer, running this in the background as I connect phone to PC in order to clear the memory (NOT ENOUGH MEMORY TO PERFORM OPERATION).
I reiterate that I use the phone for nothing other than SMS and calls.  I had images on the phone but they are long gone. I have done two full resets to factory default settings and I'm facing another one and I am beyond frustrated. Please dont tell me to connect to my PC (see above) dont tell me to connect to web via phone (see above).  My phone memory is showing 22MB SIS applications (which I understand I cannot get rid off) and 46MB other files (WHY????) I reiterate that I do not (and now cannot) browse the web on the phone, I don't use e-mail on the phone, all I do is sms and calls.   WHY WHY WHY is my phone not working?  Is there anything to be done with this phone or do I put it out of its misery?

  • Memory full/video freeze - backup - Spiderman (!)

    Hi
Read lots of these posts regarding memory full errors, so I am planning to upgrade the firmware. However when doing the backup, it's told me that it could not back-up copyright material (I am assuming this is the Spiderman vid that came with it) - Am I right in thinking that I will therefore loose Spiderman when I update the firmware?
The problem with memory manifests itself as follows:
Approximately 5GB free on the phone.
    I have 660mb of music
When ever I download more than about 80MB of podcasts, the memory is full ...
I have also suffered from the video freeze problem - once you have a couple of vids on the phone, it will freeze for a couple of seconds. Whilsts other has said it is to do with the I/O speed of the mass memory, I don;t think it is - it is too intermittent. e.g. went to Coldplay gig. First vid - no skip (about 5 mins) 2nd & 3rd attempts to vid - froze after a couple of seconds - then managed 10 minutes straight off. No changes to settings..
Anyhow - if you can let me know about spiderman - is he a gonner on my phone when I update the firmware?

  • N81: "Memory full" even formatted the memory card

    Hi.
Using N81, I get the "Memory full. Delete some data" message every time (when turning on the mobile, when trying to install any app, when trying to uninstall any app, ...).
I've formatted the memory card, and I've got:
    - Capacity: 1947 MB
    - Used: 1 MB
    - Free: 1946 MB
but continue getting the same error.
Any similar experience? I reset the mobile (*#7370# and *#7780#) but I don't experience any change (I've deleted the time and settings, but not the memory issues).
Thank you very much in advance.

    Hi bilbaow,
    Thank you for your post.
What I recommend you try is to re-installing your firmware and see if this make a difference. You can do this via Nokia suite through tools and update.
If after this is still isn't working when you did a hard reset (*#7370#) did you back and restore? If you did do the hard reset but don't restore, do still experience the same issue?

  • Memory full error when trying to access 'access po...

    Hi *,
I am using the wlan feature of my lovely e70 quite a lot. Therefore I have quite a lot off access points defined. Now I try to go to the 'access points' and I get a memory full error.
About a month ago I updated to 3.0633.09.04 (german). With 2.x I had the same problem - after a while of filling up the list I could not access it anymore, even to delete entries.
Any ideas on how to proceed? External tools?
    Cheers,
    Joerg

The error happened because you have defined or accessed a large number of access points with the device. I tend to access a large number of different AP's with my E65's WiFi. Details of each WiFi or edge or hsdpa access point you connect to is stored in that list. Hence, I got this error once.
I got out of that mess by doing the following:-
    1. Go to web browser settings
    2. In "access point" select "user defined"
    3. Then, the device will provide you with a list of all the access points you have defined and ask you to select the default access point.
    4. At this point, you can start deleting some of the access points. (Options -> Delete after selecting any ap in the list)
    5. After you have deleted some of the access points, you won't have the memory full error you encountered.
This is certainly an inconvenience. One way to avoid this issue is to manually pare down the access point list once in a while. Delete some of the access points that you use very infrequently or never again.

  • Backup problem, memory full! (Nokia 5320XM)

I've been having this odd problem with backups for about 2 months now and i can't make backups of my phone memory to the MicroSD card and it always says: "memory full! Close some applications and try again" But my MicroSD card has over 800mb free space and phone memory has about 65mb free space!?! So the memory is NOT full! I can't find a solution for this so any help would be appreciated

try updating software then try to
Make a partial backup using PC Suite (leave out settings and any features that you don't use), then reformat the phone using *#7370#.
It's important that you use PC Suite parital backup rather than the full backup to memory card, because sometimes the problem can be restored with your data.
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • N78 Sim Card Memory Full (but it isn't).

Hi, my first post here as I've been trying to find answers to an issue I'm having at the moment, so hope you can be of help.
I need to reformat my N78, so need to backup my contacts into the SIM card. When I try to mark all and copy to SIM memory but got the error message "Memory full: SIM memory" even though the card was already empty. I then went into SIM Numbers and tried to manually add each contact into the SIM memory, but could only get as far to 20 contacts out of over 120+ and be told the memory's full!
Can anyone please help solve this frustrating problem?
    Nick

    1. *#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default ( you will not lose any data)
Make sure you back up your data as you will lose all of it when you perform option 2 or 3 on this list.
    2. *#7370# - Reformat your phone
    3. This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working. If the phone is dead proceed with reflash if not, turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button. (the default code is 12345)
re-flash - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. once you feel the phone power up you can let go off the power button while still holding all three buttons
If these codes are not working the only thing for you to do is contact your Nokia Care Center/Service.
try the second code, if you want to go that route. download nokia pc suite so you can do a back up of your stuff and you can restore it once you do a reformat. how old is your sim card? sometimes its just a matter of getting an newer card that solves many issues. yes it might be something to do with your sim card being corrupt. perhaps you already have those contacts on the sim card and if you try to add even more it tells you that the memory is full. did you try saving your contacts to memory card?

  • E71 Memory Full Problem

    Hi,
I have brand new Nokia E71 White with latest firmware available on NSU (110.07.127, 09-10-2008).
After few days of using it I found out that I cannot use "HELP" option from Nokia main menu and trying to realize what is the problem I discovered that I cannot use "HELP" option in any installed application (Handy Weather, Best reminder and many others.
Every time I want to use "help" whether is Nokia´s help or any other application I get memory full error.
This is frustrating. Anyone can help?
    Regards

this probably is a case of a bug in ur device so what u can try are: plz make a back up
take out your sim card and put in *#7780# to restore factory settings. you should not lose any data, but all settings will go into default. try that first.
the second option is a reset *#7370# this one will erase all of your data, 'wipe the phone clean' and restore to factory settings. see if any of these options work and if you are able to use your phone as you like/need to.
the third option U can go in for a hard reset which will turn ur device as it left the factory totally new
'*' '3' 'Call Key' and Power button all pressed at the same time and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. After u have removed ur phone battery for at least 5 mins.

  • Memory full error message when battery is low

(Ive done a check and cant find anything similar)
I have an E71 and keep getting "memory full" error messages ONLY when the battery is low. I have 109 free memory out of 119, and when I connect to the USB it says it doesnt recognise it, so I cant save anything to computer, not that there is anything on there.
The problem is, because it says MEMORY FULL, it wont recharge, even when the charger is plugged in and switched on. Which means basically the phone is useless.
I think this has to be a softwear problem and not a Ive-misused-it-problem because the MEMORY FULL ! message comes up only with low battery.

Hi have you checked if your 920 memory is full via the Settings > Phone Storage to ensure that your 920 has got enough memory? Otherwise, have you checked your car stereo itself (is it a model that has built-in flash storage or hard drive storage) for its memory capacity?

Last night i deleted my messages in my inbox and sent box.
afterwards i didn't do anything else and suddenly just stopped working. i turned it off and turned it back on and it came up with
Memory full. Delete or Remove some data from C: Phone Memory.
and then every so often would come up with system error
i tried going into things like the photos or video and internet and apps pages to view them but it would just freeze and not do anything...
i recieved some text that were sent like 3 hours before when i thought it was working and i could text back as when you go to reply you can't go into the screen to start touch screen typing....
i finally got into the C: drive by connecting to my comp and deleting stuff even though the C: is not full it keeps coming up with this...
i can't connect to comp and PC suite has never worked to try and update software or something and it now doesn't have the settings to go on internet itself to get updates. i have got vodafone to text me configs for internet but it says its already saved and it still doesn't work...
