N82 shortcuts problem

Hi,
i have a problem with my N82, software 20.0.062 , product code 0566174
when you install new program on the microsd card - its shortcut is placed in the "Applications" menu. I move the shortcut to the "Games" menu, then i remove the memory card with the option "remove memory card" , and when i reinsert the sd card, the shortcut is automatically placed again in the "Applications" menu, not the "Games" menu. So moving the shortcut doesn't work.
Do you have an idea, and how is it by your phones?

Dont worry, sometimes it tends to do this type of misbehaviour.
But remember this isn't a problem. Sometimes if your phone is too loaded with certain heavy applications could also cause these type of problems.

A possible solution for "foreight language keyboard shortcut" problem...

Everyone know the problem of losy keyboard layout when Final Cut is used with foreight language keyboard. We loose the COMMAND-Q shorcut.
As PieroF suggested in many posts in final cut express forum, there is a workaround:

+a. the problem exists also with the Italian keyboard (in addition to other languages, as pointed by other posters)+

+- close FCE (if open)+

As stated by Piero, you have to follow this procedure after each computer startup.
I found a way to restore the COMMAND-Q shortcut with the keyboard and mouse system pref panel.
Simply add Final Cut application and add a +custom shotcut+. Be careful to type exactly the "Quit Final Cut Express" menu.
This solution allows to restart the computer.
It's work with Final Cut Express and Final Cut Pro under Leopard 10.5.4.

I like your suggestion because the keyboard shortcuts defined in the system preferences do not require redefinition at each startup. So in theory we could define all missing/wrong shortcuts this way, and not only the cmd-Q as you suggested. Boring, but we could do it once for all.
The only problem is that I don't know how to define shortcuts for submenus, for example "Render Selection/Both": it seems system preferences allows only to define shortcuts for the menu ("Render Selection" - in this case absolutely useless) but not for the submenu.
Do you know a way ? (I looked in the help, which didn't... help).

Shortcut problem

I am having a problem linking to an external .chm in my
software application help. I've read the posts about shortcut
problems and am trying to use Pete Lee's javascript. I saved this
javascript in a file names 'getChmDir.js' which I added to my
RoboHelp project and then added as a baggage file. I included the
following in the HEAD of my truecode:

What I'm trying to do is use an image with a hyperlink to a
specific file in an external .chm. My current hyperlink is:

Pam,
While there are problems with shortcut controls, opening an
external .chm should still work with a direct call <A HREF=
"MaestroFlowcharts.chm::\Task_Flow\cc_start_care.htm">. This
provided the external and calling .chm are in the same folder. I'm
also assuming you are calling from a .chm as opposed to calling a
.chm from WebHelp.

Photoshop cs5 shortcuts problem

So, I got the excect same problem (shortcuts stop working after a period of time while in photoshop and I need to restart photoshop to make it work again)
But now, It occurs every 10 secs. I CANNOT use photoshop at all. Just as I open it I got 10 secs to use the keyboard and then its over.
Guys, I'm so desperate right now, I got a website order thats need to be done, and its just impossible to do so.
Everything is fully updated, as well as drivers. Nothing has changed in my computer since the last post^^.
PLEASE HELP ME, what can I do to solve it?

With all due respect, it's nearly impossible to know whether "that's pretty much it" based just on what you use, since a lot of things start and run in the background - possibly even malware.
I don't know whether NOD32 is a good product; I'm fond of Avast! antivirus myself.
I also don't know how much technical experience you have with Windows, but here are two pretty good programs for seeing just what's starting and running on your system, and for disabling the things you don't want or need running.

Both of these utilities offer the ability for you to "uncheck" each entry, effectively disabling it and remembering that you have done so. You can, for example, do a methodical one by one disabling of suspects, and see whether the problem is eliminated, then you can easily re-enable them as needed.
It is surprising the number of things that get installed and run automatically that you don't actually need running at all! I have fully 90% of the things in my HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run registry key disabled. I find even some things from Adobe aren't really needed.

Xfce shortcut problems after today's updates

Xfce shortcuts defined in keyboard settings doesn't work at all, even the default ones like alt+f2. They were still working in the morning, but they stopped after today's updates. I think it has something to do with kbd package, but I can't honestly say.
Anyone experiencing something similar?

Most probably you need to logof, go into the console and wipe anything related to xfce on your home folder and start xfce again. Its a pain to get everything as you want again but at least you avoid problems like the one you have now.
You may also see a problem with the icons, just pull tango-icon-theme and all will be well.

Ctrl+Alt+C Shortcut Problem in Indesign CS3

I cannot use the ctrl+alt+c shortcut in IdCS3. The alt key works with all other shortcuts. I believe this is caused by ATI's catalyst control center which uses the same shortcut to open it's window but I disabled the hotkeys in catalyst and even changed that hotkey to one besides ctrl+alt+c and I can still not get the shortcut to work in Id.
This happened to me about a year ago and I can't remember how I fixed it.

I had this problem, Ctrl-Alt-C did not work in Indesign or Photoshop (but CS5.5 & Windows 7).
To fix it:
> right click your desktop background
> select catalyst Control Centre (top of list)
> ‘Options’ at top right pull down menu
(if you can’t see this, choose Advanced install, OK, then go back to step one again)
>Hotkeys > Hot Keys Manager
> select the one thing in the list, then press Edit
> Change from Ctrl+Alt+C to Ctrl+Alt+Shift+C
> OK, OK, OK
Hey presto! It’s all working now!

N97 Internet Shortcut problem

I just updated to the latest firmware update using NSU (11.0.021), now that it has been rolled out on 3 network (UK) and have one slight problem with my Internet shortcut on the top shortcut bar on the home screen.
The icon has changed from the usual large globe, to a small white page with WWW running up vertically and a small globe next to it. When selecting the internet shortcut I am taken straight to a web page, as opposed to opening my bookmarks menu.
I have changed the setting to open straight to the bookmarks menu and when going in through Menu > Web it opens to my bookmarks but to matter what I do, the Internet shortcut on my home screen always tries to take me directly to a website and bypasses my bookmarks menu (and it is either Planet 3 (network's homepage) or Google Mobile!) depending on whether I connect through the network or through Wifi. I have made sure the shortcut is directed to Applications > Internet and not a bookmark.
Also, when changing themes to one with a different icon set, the Internet shortcut icon stays like this and no longer changes to the icon which came packaged with the theme for internet.
Anyone have any ideas on what happened or has had this problem following the firmware update? I just want my large globe icon pack on my home screen (it is still the large globe in the Menu) and want it to take me to my bookmarks menu NOT a website!

I had the same problem when i upgraded mine and found it most annoying - however i did manage to fix it and its relatively simple. Hold down your finger on the widget and then select settings (assuming you have it on the 4 icon favourite shortcut widget if that makes sense) - click on the shortcut you want to change (i think it will say internet but can't remember) basically change that shortcut to the application thats called 'web' thats it - The icon will change to the globe again and it will then go to your default homepage.

Switching application shortcut problem (COMMAND+TAB) and (COMMAND+`)

Hello everyone
Since the upgrade Leopard i had a problem with the switching apps shortcut.
Once you start the switching apps forward shortcut (COMMAND + TAB), the switching apps Backward shortcut (COMMAND + `) won't work anymore. The only thing that make it works it to use (COMMAND + SHIFT + TAB) which is not good. It gives me cramp in my left hand! HA!
Anyways I check out petty much everywhere in the settings where I could find a customize shortcut for that. But I didn't find it. I also check if is was not an other application who was taking the same shortcut and it is not the case.
Can somebody help me on that one.
I know it is not a big deal but... still.

Some applications allow you to set hotkeys (Quicksilver, a 3rd party app, is the example I used -- this is not included with OSX). I was thinking that perhaps some other application you have was using the hotkey cmd-tab and stealing it from the finder.
You can also change the 'meta' keys in the system 'Keyboard and Mouse' prefereneces (click on keyboard -> modifier keys) -- this maybe is confusing things if its not set to defaults.
There's also a 'keyboard shortcuts' tab under keyboard and mouse, look under there e and see if there's anything involving tab (by default there shouldn't be).

FCP Studio 7 keyboard shortcut problems

I have had to re-load my FCP7 Studio after a hard drive failure, it's now running under OSX 10.8.5 since the rebuild of the iMac's system etc……However I now find some strange things going on with some keyboard shortcuts and time line actions and I am wondering if this is due to the newer OS or something else.
The first thing is that clips, video and sound tracks imported to the timeline as complete clips, do not lock together despite showing that they are "locked", i.e. underlined clip ID. To trim them I have to drag the tracks individually….that's odd and awkward.
Another thing is that the "lock / unlock all tracks" keyboard commands, shift F4 and shift F5 do not work on the sound video tracks together, and in fact shift F4 just brings up Dashboard, that's really annoying…Dashboard is something I'd love to kill anyway, but that's another story.
So any clues here, or is this just a result of upgrading the OS to Mountain Lion?

problem SOLVED!!!
I've tried everything to fix this, partitioning the drive, installing previous OS on 2nd partition, re-installing FCP7 at least a couple of time. Dumped FCP Preferences, changed settings in the OS and FCP to no avail this past week or so. Been driving me nuts….
Then borrowed another keyboard from a friend, viola problem sorted!!
It was the keyboard all along, who would have guessed that?
The errant keyboard appears to work just fine, all keys work, no dead ones……but some now don't play nicely with others especially double tap ones, hence the keyboard commands in FCP got messed up and redirected to other functions. This is a first time for me, but a relief to be back to normal. Ordered a new keyboard yesterday.

Mission Control keyboard shortcut problems

I have a problem with my keyboard shortcuts (changing space with Mission Control)
Sometimes they do not work... then I have to reset PRAM (using this guide http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379) and then it works again. Then after some time it fails again.
Anyone having the same problem?

Just another quick update, the link above is not possible CSGO and other steam games do not allow you to define custom shortcuts. I found an article on the web indicating that scripting this is not possible either as the plist you modify requires killing the mission control process entirely to reload the settings, and then doesn't remember the modification you make to the plist anyway. This is a real pain, maybe I have to learn to deal with AWSD controls in FPS games if I intend to use the mac :-/

Foreign Alu keyboard shortcut problems.

Hello everyone, I recently bought a new alu keyboard for my macbook pro. But the shortcuts in fcp like F9 (insert) etc... don't seem to work. But they do still work if I use the old keyboard.
I thought there was a problem with the osx shorcuts overriding the final cut pro shortcuts. But when I go to the system prefs with the shortcut config, I see that the shortcuts listed there (the ones you can disable etc) don't match the shortcuts on the new keyboard. --> ie. "all windows" is still "F9", while on the new alu keyboard this function is "F3". It's like it isn't recognising the new alu keyboard in the function panel. (but the shortcuts of the alu keyboard do all work in osx...)
Anyone any thoughts?? I'm going mad...

N82 screen problem.

I ran across an ad in which the guy was selling his n82 for $180, called him up, we met, and the phone has a weird problem with the screen. It is extremely dim (can;t see anything in bright light), but can see better when it's dark around. Don't really know how to describe it.The backlight works alright. He told me he flashed it and that's when it happened (which i seriously doubt).Could it be a bad screen and the replacement would fix it? Or could it be something more serious?

You might want to take steps first to make sure that it is in fact a Nokia, not a fake. Then move on to see if he is still under warranty and see if you can get that taken care of.
It just sounds a bit suspicious, that a 400$ phone would be sold for 180.. but you never know with people these days

N82 USB problem with win7

I have a problem when ejecting my phone. I use windows 7 ultimate 64bit. When i try to eject it, it says that you can remove your hardware safely but when i remove my device the device says some data might be lost.
When i was using XP it didn't have the problem. Is it something that i have missed?

Command-Return Shortcut Problem

When I hit Command-Return my Mac hides all the desktop items. Unfortunately this disables a shortcut in a program I use called Omnifocus. I have posted about this problem on their forum with no joy:

Does anyone have any idea how to disable this shortcut in other programs? I have tried the "Keyboard Shortcut" Preference Pane and it's not listed. The shortcut action Command-Return enables in Omnifocus is not a menu option so I cannot create a new shortcut for it. I have used several desktop icon hiding freeware apps in the past, but have since removed them from my Mac. They include Desktopple, Backdrop, VirtueDesktop and Spirited Away. So I can't see how they are responsible.
I have run the Console while typing this keyboard shortcut and it records this line:
"Finder[269]: overlaywinref is defined so we hide it"
If you can help me correct this problem I would be very grateful.

Great suggestions Andy, and yes this solved my problem!
I downloaded "Easyfind" and searched for "desktop" as you suggested.
I moved everything related to "Google Desktop", which I no longer use, into my Trash.
I also found an item called "desktopsweeper.ape" which you mentioned specifically.
This seems to have been the culprit.
It was actually running when I tried to empty my Trash so I opened "Activity Monitor" in my Applications/Utilities folder to force it to quit.
But it wasn't listed there.
So I had to log out and log back in and clear my Trash before it could load.
This did the trick!! So THANK YOU very much!
The shortcut now works perfectly in Omnifocus and if anyone is looking for the best GTD program available, look no further!

N82 Gallery Problems

I'm from Singapore,I've bought my N82 2 weeks ago and i noticed whenever i open up my gallery to open the images&videos,when all the images and videos are already there and no new images or videos are added,it just showed 'Opening',but there are no new images or videos added,is this a problem or a setting?Can i offset it to stop auto refreshing the gallery?
