Elinaey,
I have a strong feeling that you are having the dreaded iOS DNS error.  What your phone is doing is being clever and being wrong!  iOS will setup DNS when you connect to your wifi, but it gets cute and will sometimes point to a device on your local network for DNS instead of a DNS server outside of your network.  The real problem is that when the local DNS fails, iOS doesn't go to the next DNS server in the list.
The fix:  (from the setting menu choose wifi then do the following:
1. select your network and choose forget this network
2. rejoin your network, then tap the blue icon
3. scroll down to DNS and delete any local entries (usually start with 192.168. etc)
If you don't have any DNS listed, then add one.  You can use any free public dns or setup your own at www.opendns.org.  Google uses 8.8.8.8
Good luck and spread the word.  Maybe someday this issue will be fixed.

  • N82 wifi problem... Stumped...

Hello, just bought a n82 yesterday and it seems really great, except for one thing, I'm getting that same wifi problem that seems to be cropping up on here. I have a wpa connection which broadcasts the ssid, and we use an edimax router. When I try to connect I get either 'network not found' or 'no gateway reply' messages, i've tried manually entering the details, but still no avail... does anyone have any other ideas?
    Thanks in advance

Your router is sounding dodgier by the minute
You could get one from PCWorld try it out. If it works, keep it and if it doesn't you can always return it

  • WiFi problem - No internet / DNS Not working

    Hi,
I installed 64bit Windows 7 on my T500, and I'm having problems when connecting to wireless networks.
Everything works fine with wired networks, but when I connect to a wireless network (any wireless network) DNS isnt working.
I can ping and connect to websites using IP, but it refuses to resolve domain names. I have verified that the correct DNS servers are beeing used.
I have installed all the drivers supplied by Lenovos system update + some beta drivers from http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/WIN7-BETA.html, but at this time I'm no longer sure what drivers are beta and whats release.
    Software & drivers installed:
Access Connections version 5.42 build 6JC725WW
Realtek 11b/g/m Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Express Adapter II (driver version 2007.2.1103.2009)
Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter (driver version 6.1.7600.16385
Anyone know what this could be?
    Thanks,

I have had this happen now on three seperate Lenovo laptops. They are the 4446-25U model. This is the THIRD time that this exact same problem has manifested in this model of laptop. I am in a corporate environment and all systems are joined to the domain.
All are running the XP Pro downgrade. All will ping both internal and external IP addresses, but will not resolve the domain name (neither internal or external). All were working fine, then suddenly began with this issue that I have so far been unable to resolve. I cannot see that any software has been installed to create a Layered Service Provider issue which seems to be the only thing that matches symptoms with what I am seeing according to MS. Previously when the the first laptop did this about 3 mos ago, I restored it using the Vista restore discs, and had to forego the XP Pro downgrade. I didn't have time to tinker with it, so I just restored it with Vista and went on. I have now seen two more inside of a week with exactly the same issue. DNS does not work. DNS services have been stopped and re-started, DNS has been both statically assigned, as well as handled by DHCP, new user account created, all unneccesary software removed, and several other seemingly un-related things changed around to see if anything would work, and I cannot get DNS to resolve names.
If anyone has seen this issue please post here. I think it's odd that this has happened now three times on three seperate laptops of the same model. I've seen screwy DNS problems before, but I think I can remember one or maybe two times in my career that DNS just refused to work for no rhyme or reason, and now I've seen two in a week!!

Ishvin, I'm sure I've read somewhere that the firmware on your phone can't be downgraded.
One question though... if the old 100% used to hurt your ears, do you really need the old volume levels back?! That may even be the reason it has changed if Nokia thought the same thing... I'm sure they wouldn't want you sending them a bill to get your hearing fixed! :-)
yes this is true but stil i want it loud enough so i can't hear it outside. i just hope they put the volume back up on the next firmware

  • Error message "unable to connect with server. Check wifi connection"

I started having the error message "unable to connect with server. Check wifi connection" when I attempt to use search function within a certain apps and when I try to download certain magazine (eg. National geographic).  I didn't have this problem with I first started using iPad, and no problems with connectivity when using other apps.  Can anyone help?

You may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPad a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

using Bridge CS5 to exporting to flickr, but get error message "Unable to connect to Flickr, please check your internet connection and try again."  please help?

I'm experiencing the same problem. Don't think I can help, but maybe I can offer an explanation. It looks as if Flickr has changed their API and Adobe will need to update the export plugin to comply to get it working again. I found this announcement on Flickr:

  • Error message - Unable to find proxy server - how can I solve this problem

When I try to enter some sites I get the error message: Unable to find the proxy server, Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that can't be found. This happened suddenly and I'm not sure why or how I can fix it, it doesn't help that most help site are blocked. Im using a Mac 10.5.8 and Firefox 15.

You can check the connection settings.
    *Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network : Connection > Settings
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Options+window+-+Advanced+panel
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.
    See "Firefox connection settings":

    Can anybody please respond

Try this and see if it resolves the issue.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
    Then try again.

    1. Uninstall WiDi in the "Control Panel". However, i received an error message from Windows Installer --"Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified log file location exists and is writable"
Any suggestions on how to reinstall the Intel WiDi

Did resolve it also! But NOT with the LENOVO UPDATE!!!
Take a look at this Intel webpage:

it describes what we must do to get it running!
    1. I did download the new PROSET WiFi and the WiDi driver
    2. deinstall the WIDI and PROSET Wireless drivers from LENOVO
    3. then intall the new drivers from INTEL in the order described above!

Before you perform a reactive debug, I suggest you practice on a non production script.
The first thing you will need to do is, open the CRS Script Editor and log in.  You cannot Reactive Debug if you're not logged in and connected to the UCCX server.
Next, press CRTL+Shift+R to open the reactive debug dialog.
Select the script name from the list for the script you are troublehsooting.
Select how long you want the system to wait for the next call before cancelling the debugger.
    Press OK
Place a call into the script.
At this point a script window should open and the Start step should be highlighted in red.
Press F10 to step through the script, step by step, analyzing what's happening.
