N82 WIFI problem - firmware V35

Hi all,
After upgrade to firmware v35 in my N82 phone, i have encountered one great problem!
When i tried to connect via wifi (from my N82 to wifi hotspot), the phone has immediately restarted itself..
I can't reflash the firmware anymore, or flash it to any past version because the updater simple didn't gave me that option.
What should i do? Have someone any clue what to do?

Can anyone help me??

  • N82 wifi problem... Stumped...

Hello, just bought a n82 yesterday and it seems really great, except for one thing, I'm getting that same wifi problem that seems to be cropping up on here. I have a wpa connection which broadcasts the ssid, and we use an edimax router. When I try to connect I get either 'network not found' or 'no gateway reply' messages, i've tried manually entering the details, but still no avail... does anyone have any other ideas?
    Thanks in advance

Your router is sounding dodgier by the minute
You could get one from PCWorld try it out. If it works, keep it and if it doesn't you can always return it

Ishvin, I'm sure I've read somewhere that the firmware on your phone can't be downgraded.
One question though... if the old 100% used to hurt your ears, do you really need the old volume levels back?! That may even be the reason it has changed if Nokia thought the same thing... I'm sure they wouldn't want you sending them a bill to get your hearing fixed! :-)
yes this is true but stil i want it loud enough so i can't hear it outside. i just hope they put the volume back up on the next firmware

    Elinaey,
I have a strong feeling that you are having the dreaded iOS DNS error.  What your phone is doing is being clever and being wrong!  iOS will setup DNS when you connect to your wifi, but it gets cute and will sometimes point to a device on your local network for DNS instead of a DNS server outside of your network.  The real problem is that when the local DNS fails, iOS doesn't go to the next DNS server in the list.
The fix:  (from the setting menu choose wifi then do the following:
    1. select your network and choose forget this network
    2. rejoin your network, then tap the blue icon
    3. scroll down to DNS and delete any local entries (usually start with 192.168. etc)
If you don't have any DNS listed, then add one.  You can use any free public dns or setup your own at www.opendns.org.  Google uses 8.8.8.8
Good luck and spread the word.  Maybe someday this issue will be fixed.

  • Wifi problem with 3.1.2

    Hey,
hope someone can help with my wifi problem on Iphone 3G.
After update on 3.1.2 first wifi starts breaking down and now it won't find any station.
I would say it is defenetly a software bug!
Because after setting back the iphone to a backup from early this year and sync with itunes everything seems ok for a moment. Just after a few hours the problems starts from the beginning.
I also tryed to reset network setting with restart, work just for 1 hour.
Maybe there is an other idea
    Thanks

FYI, these forums are for Arch Linux support only.  Despite the fact that Archbang seems very much like Arch linux, it has been customized in ways that are not totally clear, and these differences have been known to cause some pretty heated issues in these forums, since those trying to help, nor the one seeking help knows what these changes are.
That said, I will tell you that the mkinitcpio errors are harmless and are giving warnings on a initramfs that you probably never use.  Also, if you want to find old packages, there is the Arch Rollback Machine where you should be able to find the older firmware.  You should know that you can list the contents of the package with pacman, so you should then be able to go to the Intel Linux wireless page and find old firmware and replace it manually if necesary as well.
I am now going to report this thread.  Sorry bro.  Good luck.

  • Xperia Arc S wifi problems

After upgradeing to Android 4.0 i cant connect to my WI-FI (WPA2-PSK). I can see my network, the phones states it gets an IP address and then just right after it goes into somekind of a loop : approves my logon, gets the IP ... then get throwed off and starting all over again. Before trying to logon to the network, it states that the signal is strong, but when in the so called loop, the phone suddenly claims that the signal is bad ?!?!
    - Before the upgrade to Android 4.0, i had no problem whatsoever connecting to my WIFI.
    - Our peripherals in our household, including my wifes XPeria Arc S, which not have been upgradded, hav no problems connecting to our WIFI.
    - I have done a "reset to factory setting" without any luck
    -  Also rebooted my Router, which has the latest firmware (Hawking HWR-54)
    Any ideas??

My WiFi can no longer connect ot my Intellinet Access Point regardless how many times I changed the Access Point encryption, SSID, password, channel, etc.
The interesting thing is that when I switched to a N capable Access Point it connected straight away!
Couple of days ago I used Sony's Software Update Manager to upgrade to the latest LT18i_4.1.B.0.587 and I can attest that is is faster and snappier, but the WiFi problem still presists.
Another weird thing is that if I have ANT+ service running Before switching on my WiFi and connecting to the Access Point I'll never be able to use my WiFi unless I reboot the phone.
Now, Being a loyal Sony/Sony Ericsson/Sony user for the past 12 years I have to say that these issues must be ironed out Sony before we dump your phones and go the Samsung way or any other way.

  • IPhone 5c wifi problems

I have an iPhone 5c and lately my wifi will not work properly it says it's connected but it does not load anything and it disconnects I've reset my router my network settings everything any advice?

If you are having WiFi problems it is necessary to isolate whether the problem is with your network or your iPhone. Note: Do NOT consider your network to be blameless if some other devices can connect to it.
First, test your iPhone on some other WiFi networks: a friends, Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, etc.
If it works well there then the problem is probably with your network. Try restarting your WiFi router by removing power for 30 seconds. Do not reset it. If that does not help check for a firmware update for your router. If none exists which corrects the problem consider replacing the router.
If your iPhone does not function well on other networks it possibly has a hardware problem. You could try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings to see if that corrects the problem. If not, contact Apple Support or visit an Apple store for evaluation. They can provide a replacement if your iPhone is bad.
If you need more help please give the make, model, and version of your WiFi router and how you have it configured.

  • The WiFi problem - Is it a case of N vs G

Seeing as I can't get any replies to my wifi findings in the main wifi thread , I thought I'd see if there were any others who have experienced the diminished wifi with different router protocols as the source of the problem as opposed to the 3 update.
MY phone is a 3GS, so version 3 was already installed. I was using an old dLink G Router with no problems what so ever - full signal all the time, even with the current latest firmware 3.1.2
With my recent move to a condo, I purchased a new Linksys N Router (single band) and the wifi signal on the phone starts off with the full signal, then quickly drops to just the single dot.
I go go back to my prior residence where the G router is still set up and I get the full signal even to the end of driveway.
I've experienced the exact same symptoms with my daughter's itouch which has not been upgraded to 3
All my other equipment on the network seems to work fine, PS3 and 2 other laptops.
I've played with various settings on the router, but nothing esoteric , no change, so now I'm out of the box settings on the router.
Bottom line - there are a lot of threads blaming the 3 firmware upgrade as the problem, but what I'd like from this thread is to concentrate on a drop in wifi based on a different router protocol.
*I'd like to hear from users If your wifi problems were simply a result of switching routers from G to N and if there's a preferred router that works?*
Thanks for the time and apologies for the potential redudndancy but, but this problem should be emphasized in Apple's eye.

I do have to admit that I have not run into this issue once yet. I don't know how many customers are running speed tests to find out, but it seems to be puzzling to our engineer as well. So, despite so many people having issues, it either has not been reported, or there has been another fix.

Honestly, this is really all we can do. There's maybe 5 or 6 engineers who we can contact for all of Apple in the US. They need to try and duplicate each and every customer's issue who makes it up to this point unless it's one they've seen before. There isn't anyone here who would have the time to work on it, but I'm really doing all that I can. They're trying to find the source of the issue, but without being able to replicate it, there's not a lot we'll be able to do until they can. Once they can find out why it's happening, they'll be able to fix it.

Why don’t I just return the phones to Apple and let them work on them without us in the loop? I can use my old phones in the meantime. They do not have a WiFI problem even with the old user account. I was under the impression Apple would be aggressive in resolving this but based on the current pace I see where it could take weeks. That is not what I was expecting when I bought two more phones.

That, unfortunately, is not allowed. It does take them a while to get back to us, and between us and them, it is email-only support as they take time to attempt to duplicate the issues you are having.

Yes, and do not sync any applications over to the iPhone afterwards. In fact, make a backup of the phone here before restoring, when it finishes and asks you to set up as new or restore from backup, unplug the phone and run the speed test.

On Vista, you need to go to the control panel > user accounts > manage another account > create a new user and set one up as administrator, then restart the computer and log in there.
On XP, you need to go to control panel > user accounts > create a new user (I think, you may need to say you want to manage another account here too), and set one up as administrator. Restart and log in to new account. I don't know the steps for Windows 7, however. This is why it's much easier to go through these steps with you on the phone with me, but you didn't give me a chance to call as you started while I was at lunch.

Yes, in an email I sent earlier, I stated, "They say that they have been unable to re-create this and would like you to try and re-create the issue
after restoring and setting up as new on a new user before installing any application. If you do that, would you mind sending me a screenshot of the
iPhone screen on the speed test? You can do so by holding the home button and tapping the sleep/wake button on the top. The screen will flash, you'll
hear a camera sound, and it will be saved in your camera roll." I apologize if you did not get that email, but that is our updates.

  • Strange wifi problem on a brand-new MacBook Pro

Hey there, I'm new here. Desperation has got the better of me, and I hope I can get some advice.
So, last sunday I bought a brand new 13" MacBookPro with 2.8g i7 processor and 10.7.2 OS (I can't update to 10.7.4 because System Update tells me the download has been tampered with or corrupted after I waited 2 hours for it to finish, but I'm trying a direct download from the website). Here's the exact product: http://www.amazon.com/Apple-MacBook-MD314LL-13-3-Inch-VERSION/dp/B005CWIZ4O/ref= sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1340301247&sr=8-5&keywords=macbook+pro+13
Everything is all perfect except for a strange wifi problem. Note that the wifi does not turn-on or off, it doesn't disconnect after 'sleep', it doesn't get less speed, it doesn't constantly leave a preferred connection (once I chose my home wifi it always connects to it no problem). The wifi bar is always full. What is wrong is that the internet is kinda 'glitchy'. The best metaphor I can think of is that it's like a car that has to be pushed down the road before the engine can start. Please, bear with me because this is kinda hard to explain and I'm not good at tech lingos.
One of the symptoms is browsing can get really slow and inconsistent, almost as if the wifi gets turned off in the middle of browsing. For example: if I look something up on Google and then open 5 new tabs, probably only 2 or 3 of those tabs will eventually load while the other two will not get past the long 'http:.......google.....etc etc' address and will eventually show one of those 'error loading page because there's no Internet connection' notice. This happens a lot. Sometimes I have to refresh/retry loading a page a couple of times before it finally loads, then usually everything will get back to normal and I will be able to open multiple tabs with no problem, but in a couple of minutes I would try to open another site and the problem will start again.
So I tried to see how it does with downloading using iGetter. Fortunately I also have a Macbook (white-plastic casing one) and my brother has an old 2006 MacbookPro so I can compare. With those two older Apples iGetter starts receiving data in less than 8 seconds after I click Start, while my brand-new Macbook Pro can take up to 15-20 seconds, sometimes it doesn't even start at all and I have to re-click the start button. But once the download actually starts (on my new MacBook Pro), it downloads like normal, it doesn't stop and the speed is also as good as I can get. Strange huh? Hence, like a car that has to be pushed before the engine starts.
I also tried 'speed testing' from a website with all 3 laptops. On my old MacBook and my brother's MacBook pro, once I click 'begin test' it takes only a couple of seconds of 'ping' before the download/upload speed measurements start, but with my new MacBook Pro (just like with iGetter) it takes up to almost a minute before the measurements start, sometimes it won't start at all and I have to re-start the test.
Well, thanks for reading. And hope you can help me shed some light into this. Because it is really preventing me from really enjoying my new MacBook Pro. And if this is most likely a hardware problem, I'd better get back to the store and try to get it replace or something while it's only been 5 days. *cheers*

Hey guys.. Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately, I bought the MacBook in Indonesia where there are no such thing as an AppleCare. The only option is to leave the Apple product to one of the 'Authorized Apple care centre' and have whoever do whatever to it without guarantee of success. As for returning it and getting a brand new one, I also don't know if there is such a deal here, but that's actually a good idea, will try to go to the store tomorrow. Although, I'm worried that the problem might be with OSX Lion or something and getting a new one won't help.
mark75090, I've tried resetting the router when I first noticed te problem, didn't work though. I've checked my new MacBook's wi-fi (option+click wifi bar) and it says 'PHY Mode: 802.11g', so does my MacBook and the old MacBook Pro. I don't know what those mean though, and I don't know whether or not my router is an N., can you tell me more please.. I have tried with the other two turned off, and only the new MacBook using the wi-fi but the problem persists. I have also tried connecting directly to the router, but as I described, the problem is too subtle for me to notice the difference.
Also, if I create a brand new Wi-Fi connection in network preferences and connect to my router through the new Wi-Fi profile, the problem seems to be gone for an hour or so, then it always comes back though. I have also just finally installed 10.7.4, but it doesn't help either.

  • Wifi problems still exists?

I sold my gs60 that had an 870m back in january mainly because i couldnt bare the wifi problem. I really loved the laptop and everything about it but everytime my laptop overheated the wifi would drop from 100mb to 1mb or less at times, monday im thinking of buying a new msi laptop and im wondering if these models that are currently being sold on amazon and etc still have the wifi problem or has it been fixed?
And trust me, i read the forums, i read the guides and im pretty decent with computers/software and etc, i uninstalled, reinstalled, updated it, changes adv. settings and even though it improves certain things the problem was still there. So does it still exist?
Or should i just buy a USB wifi?

This problem only occurs in earlier patches of Intel WiFi card of GS60 2Px (8xx series of NVIDIA graphic cards) and not every unit was affected.
If you don't want to take this risk, I'll suggest you buy GS60 2Qx (9xx series of NVIDIA graphic cards).
USB WiFi is a good idea. It certainly has a better signal comparing to the WiFi embedded in the body of the laptop.

  • Macbook pro 15 inch wifi problem (late 2011)

    Hello,
Here I write a little desperate with this problem that I have on the MacBook Pro (late 2011) with WIFI .
For several months ago, when I power on the MBP is all apparently normal , spend a few minutes and I lose the WIFI , the icon still comes out as "connected " but no WIRELESS signal , I turned off the WIFI, but, when I try to change back to turn ON, the icon of WIFI still OFF ( the inverted triangle ) . Restarting the MBP and still the problem no signal and appears as disabled , delete PRAM several times until finally everything works again , spend some time and again the same thing sometimes is fine for several hours, go out to eat and return and again the same thing, the worst was when I saw the message "Hardware not found" and "X " where the icon goes WIFI . I rebooted several times and not managed , this was the "hardware not found" message. Some time ago I went something like , when Lion had and read that resetting the PRAM and managed , never came out , but now even that it manages , and it is becoming more common , I thought it was the OS ( MacOSX Mavericks ) so I reinstalled (I'm not used Time Machine, I install all again ), this work the lasted several days without fail, until she passed again, I'm out of WiFi, when I see no WIFI signal in the list , restart me WIFI goes off and I can not change , restart it goes back to " hardware not found" and so on.
Now desperate for this, I opened the MBP , disconnected the cables from the Airport card and reconnected with care and making sure you are all well , turned on the MBP again and works!!, I lasted two weeks , then I thought it was that. But again the whole problem again.
Already investigating more online and I found some details from other users
1 / Both WIFI and Bluetooth are on the same card ( the q disconnected and reconnected )
2 / If the card was wrong , losing the WIFI Bluetooth should lose , but I tried Bluetooth and has no problems
3 / Reported that resetting PRAM or SMC but still, in my case, does not work.
Now all I have left to rule is the WIFI antenna that is located ( if I remember correctly ) for the bottom of the screen, and according to several users this tends to fail from constant use to close or open the MBP (or either to cover or uncover ) , and sometimes it just heats and heats close to this area .
Has anyone had a similar problem? My MBP turns 2 only on March 7, 2014 , I can not believe all that cost me and now is about to fail , I have a Sony VAIO Core 2 Duo for about 5 years (or more) ago and is still running and has been dropped many times and nothing has ever happened : (
Additional data on my MBP ,
Several months ago ( long before the problem with the WIFI) I changed the hard drive for an SSD ( 250GB Corsair Neutron X ) .
There is a problem that often makes me too, is that when you close the MBP ( to open ) , and open it back again ( out of sleep) the following happens :
1 / It instantly freezes when waking from sleep and I have a long wait to enter the password.
2 / When you leave idle normal let me put the password, but just when giving ENTER freezes
3 / Out of sleep, let me put the key, ENTER and when I load the desktop freezes
    Another problem :
This only happened to me a few times , as I mentioned , my MBP is formatted ( have Mavericks ) before formatted (clean install without time machine) , I closed the MBP ( I sent to sleep) and the open the screen was black , but as with bright, and not leave the state, turned off force ( pressing the button) , start the MBP again (power on) charged normal gray screen with apple but with a fairly low brightness, spent a few seconds and turned the brightness to normal and started normally .
I hope some can help me with these problems.
PD : I'm from Peru , if anyone knows a trusted service that please let me know .
    Thank you very much .

Your wifi problem sounds very much like the problem I had. The wifi would drop out, the icon showed it was still connected. If I turned it off, I couldn't turn it back on. Another user here pointed me to the problem, which was the wifi cable (the flat cable goint from the card to the motherboard). I found it on ebay for $13 and it's been running fine since I replaced it. This is the repair guide for your machine. The part number will be on there if you click the link.

  • How come they still haven't fixed the ios 6 wifi problem on ios 6.0.1 making me mad -.-

I know apple or the tech support doesn't read this but come on tell them to fix the wifi problem that started from ios 6 and still continuing to ios 6.0.1. I already gave them another feedback like 5 days ago. I really don't want to reconnect to my wifi everytime. I already did everything possibly to fix my wifi problem. I know its IOS 6.0.1 because it started with ios 6 and still not fixed by apple update to 6.0.1.
I have a very limit data plan of 300 MB on at&t and I don't want to go over so I rely on my wifi most of the time.

Maybe you just lucked out but both my devices running ios 6.0.1 have wifi problems shutting of at random times during sleep. I know you guys will say when its plugged in it doesn't lose wifi true but I never remember having this problem in the previous ios verison from ios 4 to 5(On my Iphone 4, and from my Iphone 4s from IOS 5) until I updated both devices to ios 6  or even when I had a iTouch 3rd gen long time ago I never remember it shutting of my wifi. I am telling you this never happened before IOS 6 where I need to leave it plugged in just to have my wifi during wake up.

I thought I believed my iPhone 4 with iOS5.0 would not disconnect during sleep mode. However, I was wrong. What I did was to ping the IP addresses on my iPhone 4 (iOS5) and iPhone 5 (iOS 6 then, and iOS6.0.1 now) when they were in sleep mode. Very true that there were timed-out on both devices. Once I woke them up, ping went thru. I did a scan on my home network using my iPad while the other 2 phones were in sleep mode, I was not able to see them.
I thought my iPhone4 did not disconnect too. But again, I think the reconnecting to wifi on iOS 5 is SO MUCH quicker than on iOS6 so user would think there was never a disconnect.

  • Wifi problem after.4.3 update on xperia z

    Hi all,
After updating my Xperia Z (C6603) to build number 10.4.1.B.0.101 I've been having connection issues with every Wi-Fi network.
I've checked the forum but I only found problems about people having Wi-Fi issues with their smartwatch, I do not own a smart watch this is just a general networking issues.
    Here's the problem in detail:
When having no Wi-Fi switched on while booting the phone the phone will start without any issues, I will receive my 3G/4G signal and I can browse, e-mail, everything.
Once I switch on Wi-Fi it will start connecting to previously stored Wi-Fi access points but will not connect. Eventually it says that there was a problem with connecting, even though this will take several minutes.
I can go into the Wi-Fi settings, select a different Wi-Fi network (if it is in range) and press connect, however the settings app will freeze at that point and eventually I'll get a notification that the settings app has stopped working.
I have found a "work-around": I switch the Wi-Fi to on, power off the phone and power on again. Now the Wi-Fi connection immediately powers on without an issue once the phone has completely booted, it also will connect to the default Wi-Fi connection that is in range. A different issue appears however once I move out of Wi-Fi range, it will no longer pick up my 3G/4G signal. It is also impossible to switch off Wi-Fi or switch Wi-Fi network connections without rebooting the phone.
As I said before this happened to me after updating to version 10.4.1.B.0.101 after having it received through OTA update. I do not have root access on my phone either so this can't be it.
Is there anyone experiencing the same issues? Is this somehow related to the issues people are experiencing with their smart watch connections (as seen in this topic: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Software-Updates/wifi-problem-after-4-3-update-on-xperia-z/td-p/490591...
If there's anyone who is experiencing the same issues, or has found a fix for this I'd gladly hear from you.
    Regards,
    Danny
