N85 - distorted sound with voice calls

Hi, anyone had this problem.
The sound [on a normal voice call] is very distorted. From the handset speaker [NOT the loudspeaker]
A week ago, i did drop the phone from my top pocket while crouching on the ground. It didn't even get a scratch on it, so I assumed it was not damaged from such a small fall.
Is it possible that it's damaged the speaker/wiring/ etc:??

it is confirmed that the motherboard has shorted-out.
Reasons how this could have happened:-
plugging the iphone into a self-powered speaker system with the headphone jack (not dock connector)Power Surge !
living in a high-humidity country (causes mineral build-up & moisture ... bla bla bla)
Q : Why everything else works but the sound crackles?
A : Its an X-File
What to do now ?
Trade-in or get a new phone - either way, wallet will hemorrhage money.

Once you get straightened out consider backing up via a bootable clone. It can solve a lot of problems.

Problem with voice calls

I tried to make a voice call to someone on skype, and though I could hear her, she could not hear me. I tried restarting the app, restarting my iPod, turning off permission for access to my mic then turning it back on. Nothing. At first I thought it was a problem with skype, so I decided to try ooVoo. We ended up having the same exact issue. I tried the same solutions I attempted with skype, and still it wouldn't work. She could hear me typing on my computer keyboard, but she never did hear my voice. My headphones were not plugged in, and neither was my iPod speaker. I made sure the calls were not on mute. They weren't. If it's doing this with two apps, then it obviously is not them. Is there something else I can do?

You said " She could hear me typing on my computer keyboard, but she never did hear my voice.". Does this mean while yo were using Skype on your iPod the other persons could her your keyboard clicks on the computer but not your voice?
Are you holding the iPod?
The mic hole on iPods with a back camera is on the back

Try sliding the button that is above the volume up and down buttons to see if you have it muted.

Quacking sound with voice effects

I'm using GarageBand as an 'open mic' processor to add vocal effects live (using Soundflower to carry the output to other apps). Whatever effects I use, there is an echo on the monitored sound, which sounds distinctly like a 'quack'. Altering the recording level does not make it disappear, just makes it louder or quieter along with the vocal.
This is not feedback. I am using the internal mic, but monitoring through earphones. The noise is in GarageBand as changing the output from Soundflower to the built-in speakers makes no difference either.
What's causing this distortion? Could it be the mic itself? (Unlikely - removing voice effects stops the noise).

Distorted sound with ITrigue L3800

I work when customer support is open, so hopefully the forums can help.
I have a Dell XPS 40 with Windows Media Center. I just bought the ITrigue L3800, but the sound is very distorted. When I plug headphones into the computer, the sound is fine. Has anyone had this problem before and have suggestions?

The best thing you can do is to test the speaker on another audio source. If the same thing is happening to the speaker. You can be quite sure that it's faulty and best to get an exchange either from the vendor or Customer Support.

Distorted Sound with 6735S

Hi,
I have a 6735S and recently the sound has gone distorted and crackly when listening to music, watchin dvdx... even the start up tune! I ve tried headphones and speakers, still the same problem persists. I ve gone through the FAQ on the HP site, and downloaded what it recommends but this hasnt helped.
I m not overly good with the technical jargon, so if anyone can help please reply!

If the sound is still distorted, move half of the plist files to the desktop, run the script again, and repeat the procedure until the item causing the problem is found. If nothing in the /Library/Preferences/ folder is causing the issue, continue with the other items in the home folder except for the desktop itself. If you determine that an item isn't causing the problem, you can put it back where it originally was.

Urgent Help! DVD distorted sound with Creative 5.1 External

Hi there
new to this board, i recently purchased the Creative Soundblaster Li've! 24bit 5. External Card and am having difficulties playing a DVD. Whatever program I use, i get some serious distorted 'hiss' sound throughout the movie. Any DVD does this. and its only DVDs, other movie and audio files are fine. If i disconnect the external card and just use my original on-bard card, it works fine too.
Any idea how to fix this?

As I understand it, the USB port doesn't have enough badwidth to handle DVDs with AC3 sound. See the post by Jeremy-CL here.

Distorted sound with more bass equalizer preset

My Problem is that my iphone has either no bass or too much. If i activate the equaizer preset more bass - it sounds like completely distorted (but not with all songs). If i turn it off the sound is weak and just not "nice". I testet the same tracks wich i downloaded from the music store with the same earphones - sennheiser mx 55 with my macbook and my ipod - it was much much better. So the haedphones are okay - it has to do with the iphone. Can u please help me - and please don´t tell me to not use the equalizer - this is no option because it sounds lame like... If there is no way to solve this problem i will try to return the music ibought and maybe use a different player from the appstore?? Greetings from germany. i wish it would be this easy but - i only have downloaded music from the itunes store on my iphone - not much but completely downloaded from the itunes store. I found out that these songs have different "sound" one is clear and the other is very dark with much bass. But if i transfer them to my ipod they are much better and not distorted. What can i do with my iphone to get this probelm solved or what can i do to give the music back?

Distorted sound with audio preview

Hi,
I have a problem with the Finder file preview. As for sound files, one can usually listen to songs within the file preview, without opening an application. But since recently, the sound of this function is very loud and distorted. I had been running two such previews at the same time and suddenly the sound turned to this.
Since then it has stayed this bad. I tried the usual means: restart, clear user caches, repair file permissions, p-ram reset ... nothing of this helped.
The funny thing is: All other audio stuff works fine. I can listen to iTunes, use QuickTime - everything is fine. But as soon as I try to listen via the Finder preview, the sound is terrifying.
Does anyone know any help to this, please?

No sound on voice calls after Lollipop update

I recently upgraded my Xperia T2 Ultra to Lollipop. Since then, when I call anyone, or they call me I have no sound coming from the built-in earpiece speaker. I have the volume all the way up, but nothing. If I change it to speakerphone mode I can hear the other party, but I do not want to have to use speakerphone all the time. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Found any solutions?

Voice calls breaking up on EDGE with iphone and AT&T

When I am on a voice call using the iPhone on EDGE the callers voice often breaks up. This also happens when I dial voicemail and listen to messages.
This is my first time using AT&T. Is this normal for AT&T's EDGE network or is this possibly a problem with my iPhone. This happens even if I have full bars on EDGE. I've tried resetting the phone as new and getting a new sim card and updating the firmware but voices still break up. Has anyone else experienced this?

I got a replacement iphone and the problem with voice calls breaking up persists. I have no idea what the problem is since there are so many variables and I don't have all the information. I just know that I never had this sort of problem in the 9 years I was on Verizon with any phone. I really enjoy this device for everything besides the phone functionality. It would be cool if I could just pay for data on this phone without the voice so I could get a Verizon phone for voice and keep the iphone for data but I know that would never happen. Well, I still have a couple weeks to figure out what I'm going to do.

IPhone 4 voice call problems on 3G

I noticed at the weekend that my iPhone 4 was having trouble with voice calls. Incoming calls would sometimes hang up when I answered them, outgoing calls would take a very long time to connect (or freeze), and when I did get through to someone the call quality was extremely low (lots of stuttering and cutting out).
After trying just about everything recommended on various help pages (including reseating the sim card, refreshing the network settings, and restoring the phone), I still could not get it to work properly. I then tried turning off the 3G and, lo and behold, the phone worked absolutely fine! Voice calls were clearer than ever!
I contacted Tesco Mobile hoping they might be able to shed some light. They said there are no faults with the network and have arranged for me to return my phone. That could take up to 10 days though, which I can't really afford.
Does anyone know what the problem is here? Does the fact that it works fine with 3G disabled suggest that it is not a hardware problem?

I've been having a very similar issue that just started last night. I keep dropping calls and when I try to call out nothing happens at all. I cannot browse Safari through 3G either. It keeps coming and going. I was able to finally place a call out and then tried making another call later and it wouldn't work again. I tried the restore as well and nothing works!
I do not know if I should contact AT&T or Apple for the issue. I do have the extended warranty that I purchased with the phone but about a week after I got the iPhone 4 I had to have it replaced for issues I am not even sure that they would replace it again. I do not have a home phone I rely solely on my cell so I cannot wait to have it fixed or replaced but I am not going to keep a phone that doesn't work especially after paying so much for it!
