N85 NEW FIRMWARE FINALLY Version 20.175

That's right, the n85 has finally got a long awaited update to version 20.175. Currently installing so will let you know how it is once i've finished.

"Hi, Thanks for your reply. Do Orange normally take some time to de-brand their phones? i know that Orange took a fair while with my old SE K850... Would you say it's worth re-branding it?"
I don't know how long Orange normally take to sort their new software out. I used to have a k850 too and i had about 3 updates in the 18months i were using the K850. It can vary how long it takes them to sort out new firmware though.
As for debranding - this will allow you to get the latest updates straight away but it will mean you lose your warranty. If you debrand your phone, you will not be covered if it breaks and you will have to pay to get it fixed. Debranding can't be talked about on this forum, sorry.
"Also do you know if they sorted out the bluetooth handsfree phonebook issues... I thought maybe you're the man to answer that with your ID..."
I use my phone with a bluetooth handsfree car kit - a Parrot CK3100 and i used to always have problems with the phone not connecting to the handsfree properly when i tried making a call. Since i did the update on my N85, the phone works much better with bluetooth handsfree and i never have a problem with sending the phonebook via bluetooth.
If you want to check what the latest firmware version for your phone is, go to this site and type in your product code AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE. Your product code is a number found on your phone under the battery. http://www.nokia.co.uk/get-support-and-software/download-software/device-software-update/can-i-updat...
Hope this answers your questions. PLEASE GIVE KUDOS IF IT DOES (the big yellow button on the right)

  • NEW Firmware release Version 2.1 for fs7

http://www.pro.sony.eu/pro/lang/en/eu/support/software/SET_BPE-SS-1238/30 1.) Peaking, Zebra function improvement
         • Peaking and Zebra function will become functional during Picture Cache Recording
2.) Monitor LUT limitations of Ver.2.00 are improved
         • M-LUT remains“off” after S&Q
         • M-LUT is not applicable to SDI-2 while 4K recording.
    3.) Operation stability improvement

In time, we all learn to expect nothing from Sony.  They are first and foremost a consumer electronics company.  They will never build cameras and cater to their customers the way Arri does.  We buy Sony's because they are a cheap version that gets the job done.  (They look pretty ****** good in my opinoin.  Especially with Art Adams LUT.)  With that bargain comes a lot of headaches and frustration.  It's the hidden price.  The moderators and engineers are good people- I am convinced.  Unfortunately, they work for a company that ties their hands.  I completely understand why they don't keep a presence on these forums.  What can they say to people who have purchased a product that continues not to work properly? At the FS7 price point, Sony's main interest is in making a camera that they can obsolete in a couple of years.  Sadly it will take those couple of years to get the camera up the specs they promised us.  It's just the way they do business.  I own a couple of F55s and they are great for the most part.  It took over a year for it to become mostly reliable. The OLED viewfinder was a disaster of course, but you win some and you lose some.  The Mods are good people but they simply can't do anythng about the way the corporation is run.  In the meantime, buy yourself a Small HD 502 monitor and use that as a viewfinder.  That was my solution.  As for the shutter changing at will... vigilance is the only answer there I guess.  Here is hoping for a fix in version 3 firmware.  In the meantime, it's still a great camera for the money.  ****** you Sony!

Hi, AlexK. I just found the answer for your question in F5/F55 user manual(v.6), on p. 46.In a word, you can't use your double speed viewfinder function.Refer to the last sentence.  Viewfinder Double Speed function is not effective on the following settings.- When System Frequency is 59.94/50.- When Recording format is SStP Sr-SQ 444 / SStP SR-SQ Lite 422 / SStP SR-SQ 422, ProRes 422, DNxHD 220x / DNxHD 145.- When "Setting" in "Slow Shutter" of the Camera menu is set to "On."- When "Setting" in "S&Q Motion" of the Camera menu is set to "On," and the "Frame Rate" setting is 1 to 60P. At this moment, it's not available to everyone.Hope Sony make it available with future firmware update, if technically possible. Bryan

  • New firmware for nokia N85

Hello. I would like if you were lazy people from Nokia have made a new firmware for Nokia N85.
It is a shame that for some older models released new firmware. But even so it is only a few cell models of Nokia's touch-type screen.
Shame on Nokia. Wake up in the centrale and start finally doing something for people.

send your inquiry to Nokia by clickin this link

I finished adding my transtions to my timeline.  I was having crashing issues so I shut down everything before I rendered the project and now it tells me that the project is unreadable or the file is too new for this version of final cut. What Happened?

    What Happened?
No way for us to know.  But if your system was crashing, there definitely was a problem.  The FCE error message you got normally indicates the FCE project file has been corrupted.  This probably happened due to whatever caused your system to crash & shutting down the system.
First, make sure your system is running correctly.  Then, use the Finder to navigate to /users/yourusername/Documents/Final Cut Express Documents/Autosave Vault and find the most recent backup copy of your FCE project file.  Copy the file to your Final Cut Express Documents folder (copy the file, don't just move it).  Then double-click the copy to open it in FCE.  It should open ok, but will probably not have your most recent edits (transitions).  You may have to rebuild the transitions, but at least you will be back in action.

  • New firmware Nokia 6110 Navigator version 6.01 soo...

    Hello,
I have found on a few different nokia-related-pages that is a new firmware for nokia 6110 navigator (version 6.01). no information about bugfixes, nokia service centers seem to already have it. more to come.

Ok here comes the first news and bugfix list from 5.11 (and i add 4.22 infos) (i use the numbers from here: /discussions/board/message?board.id=swupdate&message.id=40488&query.id=554906#M40488 )
a nokia service center did update my phone to version 6.01.
firs of all: seems to be a again just a mini-upfate as 5.11 was.
    - Nokia 6110 Navigator gets firmware 6.01 (02-09-08)
    - Nokia Navigator-Program is still version 8.0.12274 (11422) as it was in 5.11, no updates, no routing towards coordinates as in newer route66mobile8 available.
    - New firmware seems to get better satellite-signal (not faster, but better signal and therefore more satellites that are actually used)
    - No flash lite 3.0, still 2.0
    - Maybe sound quality improved in carkit-mode for the one using the phone, was not yet able to try to talk with another person
    - Battery bug fixed (as in 5.11)
    now concearning the other bugs:
1- could not yet try that alarm-bug
    2- fixed, i hear no sound-crack
3- not fixed, volume +/- still not activated in games
4- i have no dual-sim, can not try this
    5- idem
6- not fixed, deleted numbers still in protocol
    7- didnt try yet
8- not yet noticed, maybe fixed
9- not yet noticed, maybe fixed
10- could not reproduce the problem
11- not yet noticed, maybe fixed
    12- didnt try yet
    13- flash lite 3.0 missing
    14- didnt try yet
    15- fixed
16- not yet noticed, maybe fixed
17- in funkwerdabendorf-carkit with bluetooth soundquality seems to be improved, but didnt yet talk with someone else on phone
    18- not fixed
    19- fixed
    20- maybe improved now
    21- didnt try yet
    22- didnt try yet
23- not fixed, but might be due to the fact, that pc suite has full access during that time to the memroy, therefore musicplayer not
24- not yet noticed, maybe fixed
25- not fixed, old nokia navigator-oem/route66mobile8
    26- fixed
    27- no changes
    28- didnt try yet
    29- didnt notice that
30- no change, still rather slow
31- not yet noticed, maybe fixed
32- not fixed, flash still very greenish/blue
33- no change, button still linked to nokia navigator
34- not yet noticed, but due to the fact that it is the same version as in 5.11 and i have had the problem there too, the problem might still be there
    35- didnt try yet
so here we go. you might find out too, what they fixed and what they havent fixed yet.

  • N85 need a new firmware with CPU Clockrate upgrade...

Just Like Nokia 5800XM we need new firmware with less bugs and also Upgrading the CPU clockrate to 434Mhz which possible as we seen it on Nokia 5800XM for N85
    any Opinions about it?
Message Edited by saeid1371 on 24-Sep-2009 11:45 AM

That is not going to happen as the processor on the N85 is already running at it's maximum clock speed.
The 5800 was underclocked (not overclocked) due to instabilities of the new v5 operating system. Once they had fixed the problems they restored it to it's actual speed.
Nokia will never overclock a device so it is not possible to increase the clock speed of the N85.
If you want a faster but similar phone you will need to upgrade to an N86.

  • Nokia N80 new firmware version 4.0707.0.7

    It's so bad firmware version!
I have lots of problems with new firmware version 4.0707.0.7 that I haven't with past version 4.0623.0.42 !
I can't understand what's going on with NOKIA Software Updater!
    >I can't enter to my "Gallery\Images & Video" from "Camera Mode"
    >My OS speed decrease
    >Captured photos don't show in "Images & Video" until I restart my N80
    >For each new files you add, you need to restart your N80 until your N80 find them in memory!!!
Why past version haven't these PROBLEMS and new version have them!!!
Does anybody know how can I return to my past firmware version (mean 4.0623.0.42) ? Is it possible?Message Edited by zoologist1 on 03-May-200712:28 PM

Basically it means that BB5 phones like N-Series including N80 and E-series cannot be downgraded to a previous version once they have been upgraded. Trying that with third party tools, because it's not possible through NSU, will brick (dead) your phone, period.
That's why I said you'd have to take the phone to a service center.

  • Final Cut Pro 6 by Diana Weynard: Format too New FOR THIS VERSION OF APP?

I purchased the book book Final Cut Pro 6 by Diana Weynard and it is a basics book overview of FCP However it comes with CD and I have downloaded the CD to my hard drive and when i open the files in
FINAL CUT PRO 6 it says:
FILES FORMAT IS TOO NEW FOR THIS VERSION OF THE APPLICATION.
I did go to the website and download the updates.
I have upgraded osx to 10.5.5
    FCP is at 6.0.4
    Quictime Pro 7.55
    Whats going on?
I bought this book. And when I try to play the Lessons it says FORMAT TOO NEW FOR THIS VERSION OF APPLICATION?
    Are my settings wrong?
I have seen this same thread and now answer. I would appreciate some major help from the top users on here! thanks guys

the projects included with this book were built with and for FCP 6 ... if you do not have FCP 6 then its no good to you.
what version of FCP are you running? with FCP open, choose *Final Cut Pro* menu *> About Final Cut Pro* and see what version it says there in the splash screen

  • 5310 new firmware version 08.23!

I bought a Nokia 5310 the other day. it had the 5.81 or so firmware on it. Knowing from the boards that 7.01 was available, I immediately upgraded, and to my surprise found that 08.23 was available.
This new firmware hasn't received any discussion or announcement, so I wanted to point out its existance... The date stamp when using *#0000# is 23/7/2008.
Those who can, may also reply to say what differences they found. ;-)
    cheers
    My Nokia history: 5310 (Sep 2008), 5300 (Jan 2007), 6610 (June 2003), 3310 (2001)

I am a little disappointed by this new update. I previously had the 5.xx firmware version. Some things have been changed, and not necessarily in a good way. The default screensaver has been changed, and it's pretty lame and boring. The default screensaver that I had before the update was really cool, and lots of my friends liked it a lot.
The font size in the music player has been chaged also, it's a little bigger.
Another thing that I have noticed since the update and bothers me (and it's just a personal opinion, maybe it's not a general issue), it's this: in whicever menu I am (excepting the standby screen), the colors are a little dim, the brightness is a little pale, it's like the background color is a little foggy. Before the update, the colors were real good and strong, in whichever menu in the phone I was. But now are a little pale and foggy, which is really disturbing for me.
That is what I noticed in the first hour since the update.
So for now, thumb down for Nokia!
P.S. I also agree that when a new version is released, there also should be some release notes, so we know what to expect.

  • Nokia N85 v31.002 New Firmware

SW improvements and corrections firmware version 31.002
    - Fix for streaming issue
Not possible to stream with redirection
    - Gmail/Google mail naming issue in UK & Germany
    - Fix for “doesn’t switch on” issue

    Hello Everybody,
Firstly I would like to thank, everyone on Nokia, thanks for your efforts to make our Phones better...
I just upgrade to this new Firmware, I've been using it for like 4 o day or so and this are my findings...
    Pros:
    System Speed up.
    Videos/photo rendering is faster.
    Cons:
Opera Mobile 10 beta 2 cannot be installed.
I cannot create new lists anymore.
I cannot update my music Library.
Volume up/down keys are not working very often. (I have to shut it down and then turn it ON again, in order to get it working)
every time I make a call, if a wifi network is available it tries to connect to it.
I had a custom ringtone, custom text message tone and also a custom alarm tone after upgrade, all of them were deleted after the process. (DELETED from the memory card I'm using)
I upgrade twice, first through OTA and then through my PC. (OTA upgrade was 0.6  MB; PC upgrade was 148MB, HUGE difference)
I'm gonna do a hard login and then comment what happened!
    Thanks!
