N85 on Orange UK - missing effects

Apols if this has been answered elsewhere.
Just had my N85 delivered by Orange and I notice that there are no effects
No option for Icon Animation, No rotate effect (zoom out, rotate, zoom back) etc.
Has the latest firmware 11.047
Custom version is : 11.047.249.2
Is this an Orange thing ?

Orange do sometimes disable things like this. On the N82 they removed the icon animation for no sane reason.
The transition effects are usually switched off by default as they can make the phone feel slower.
The option to turn them on is here (if orange hasn't removed it):
Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Personalisation > Themes > General > Options > Theme Effects - Set to On.

Missing Effect after upgrade to 10.0.4

I upgrade to 10.0.4 - went pretty smoothly. When I opened FCPX it 'update' my Events and Projects. Now I have a clip in the time line that has a orange bar along the time frame. When I try to preview I get a red screen and a warning symbol (yellow triangle and "!"). When selecting the project the Information window states "1 Missing Effect - FastNoiseReuction". I'm assuming this filter is not longer available - how come? How do I remove it from that clip? The clip won't render as is, although I can see the clip contents OK in the timeline.

Any Effects which are deletable will appear in the inspector.
Select the clip and press Cmd+4 to open the inspector.
This grab shows the Audio Tab - with no effects.

How do I create an orange flash transition effect using Adobe Premiere CS6?

I am trying to create an orange flash transition effect using Adobe Premiere CS6 with my MAC computer.

Try this:
Add Cross Dissolve, cut and nest
Add a Fast Blur to the nest and tweak as in first screendump
Superimpose orange Color Matte and tweak as in second screendump
Make (fixed) effects into presets for future use.

Missing effects in cs5. Error message when I add presets.

So I'm new to AE, and need some help. When I add the "rotate over time" animation preset to a title, it says "this favorite contains 1 reference to a missing effect. Please install the following effect to restore this reference". Does anyone know how I can get this worked out? Everything is there in my effects and presets, except this error message keeps showing up when I add it. When I look in my presets folder, the transform is clearly there. Any help? Something I'm missing/overlooking?
Specs: 2010 17 in mbp, 2.53 ghz i5, 8 gb ram, 500 gb. AE cs5 10.2

Nothing to worry about. This is a so called "Pseudo Effect". More details here: http://www.batchframe.com/tutorials/12
Basically the documentation of this custom preset should have contained some code thant you need to insert into "PresetEffects.xml" and is just for naming purposes. So as long as you can live with the "missing effect" name you have nothing to worry about.

All Tracks Forward/Backward & Missing Effects

Hi,
1. Please tell me that fcpx has the equivalent to fcp7's All Tracks Forward and Backward in the tool palette. If so, where is it?
2. In fcp 10.0.8 it says i have 472 Missing Effects. When putting cursor over the Missing Effects Title a box comes up for about 5 seconds that reveals all the missing effects, but there seems nowhere to get that list as when you click on Missing Effects nothing happens. Is there someplace we can get a list of our Missing Effects in fcpx?

Hi Luis, Yes I understand all of that, but to get the names of those effects which can be seen for 5 seconds when putting the cursor over Missing Effects there must be someplace i can click to see a list of the effects. without the list i can't find the programs that i need to get so that those effects will be on my mac. the editor believes it's unreasonable to ask him for a list of missing effects and won't send them. thanks!

Missing effect problem!

I have downloaded a project from a friend and in this project he uses the plug-in effect Trapcode Particular. I knew this before i downloaded his project so i intalled the effect on my machine too. But now when i open his project i always get the error message "This project contains 5 references to missing effects. Please install the following effects to restore these references. ("Particular")" and i have no idea why??
I've tried to reinstall several times, both after effects and trapcode particular but nothing seems to work, always the same error message. I've installed the effect in my programs folder, in the adobe folder, in the after effects folder, in the after effects/support files/plug-ins/effects folder but still nothing! I've also read somewhere that if you get these type of error messages the effect will work anyway but it doesnt! And in the "effects and presets" panel the effect shows up under the missing tab??
Another wierd thing is that if i go to my timeline and then click on "rain" wich is the layer particular is used on, i can still use and configure all the settings for the effect in the effect control but nothing happends on the screen. And istead of just saying "Particular" in the effect control it says "Missing: Particular" even if i can still tweek the settings!?
I really need help with this,isthis a bug or glitch or what, anyone else ever had this problem or similar, please help!

Yes, this is as designed and ws introduced in AE 7 or CS3 (can't remember exactly...). the rest is unclear, since you didn't say anything about which version of AE nor your operating system. On a guess I would say you run CS5, but do not use the correct 64bit versions of the plug-ins, so naturally, nothing shows up because it cannot support 32bit plug-ins. Other than that it could be anything from permission issues to some system DLL used by the plug-ins missing...

I working on a after effects(CS3 ) project that was started by a another designer and when I open the project I get a "this project contains 1 reference to a missing effect.Please install the following effect to restore this reference. (Inner Bevel")

Not related to AE. AE does not have an Inner Bevel effect. The designer probably was using third-party plug-ins like Boris Continuum Complete or such. Since it's CS3, you may however be able to re-create the look using layer styles. You'd still need a reference image, though, as I consider it very likely that identical values have a different meaning in the layer style than they would have in the plug-in. Therefore a phone call to the person is unescapable, if only to confirm my theory. If he can tell you, what plug-in he used, you should at least be able to obtain the demo version of it and use it as a reference.

Hi, I hope someone can shed some light on this.
When loading projects I sometimes receive this error.
This project contains 2 references to missing effects. Please install the following effects to restore these references (“Form”)
It then loads, but doesn't work as it should. The number of missing effects changes, but the references ("Form") is consistent. No other effects are listed.
Do you know why this might happen?
I purchased the files from VideoHive, but it's happening with 4 our of 5 purchased files. I've tried loading them on both CS5 (- they are CS5 versions of the effect according to the author) - and also tried loading them into CC. This shows the same error.

Get ready to open your wallet again: you need to buy Trapcode Form, available from Red Giant Software. I'm surprised Videohive didn't list required third-party plugins in the product description.

Installing Missing Effects

Hello all,
I'm taking an after effects class at college and decided I'd like to work on my ae projects at home as well. So, I bought a new laptop with windows 64 bit, downloaded a free trial of after effects 5.5, and transferred the projects I created on the campus's computer to my new laptop via external hard drive. The projects opened, but a few things were missing. For one, the effects I used on the project when created on the campus's computer did not register with my trial version of ae 5.5. I got a message stating that I needed to install those missing effects (cc starburst, starglow, and so on). How do I do this?

You buy them. Starglow is a commercial third-party effect that won't magically appear regardless whether or not you run in trial mode or the full version. You can of course download demo versions of these effects but will have to live with watermarks.

Missing effects installed yet not updating

I opened a project that uses effects that were missing from my system and received the red screen alert. I downloaded and installed the effects and they now appear in the effects menu in FCPX, yet FCPX is still telling me the 6 effects are missing. How do you fix this so that the effects update and apply?
They should just apply once they have been installed yet they do not. One of the effects did update when I installed it but there are 6 instances that will not.
The effects are: Alex4d Mask+4, Alex4d Mask+8 and Alex4d Mask+16. See the screengrab below showing the installed effects and also the missing effects alert for those same effects.

When you add or update an effect, title, transition etc in the effects browser, FCP will sometimes not see it until you close and reopen FCP. Even if it sees the additional effect it will not apply it to an instances in the project timeline. You have to reapply it. One would think in your case where the effect was missing it would automatically add it once it appeared in the browser but perhaps not. I would relaunch FCP and see if that fixes it. If not then You will need to reapply the masks.

Missing Effects

I'm a self-taught (not learnt much yet) newbie...
I've drawn a logo in Illustrator comprising a couple of basic shapes made of joined paths with stroke and fill the smae colour, i then took this object into photoshop and applied layer styles of Inner Shadow, Bevel & Emboss, Gradient Overlay and Pattern Overlay. Someone i met in passing who happens to teach Illustrator told me i can keep my logo in Illustrator and apply the same effects. I was using CS3 and when i went to work on the first effect, Inner Shadow, i wnet to menu Effect>Stylize and the only option I had was Glowing Edges, i was told that I'd need CS4 or CS5 for this so borrowed a laptop with CS5 on it and the same was the case, under Effect>Stylize i only have Glowing Edges as an option, my first thought is that I'm missing out something basic, such as incorrectly selecting my object or not adding a new layer to apply the efffect to but if that was a case surely under the menu's the other options would be there but just greyed out and unusable?
How come my Illustrator only has glowing edges as a stylize option?
Am i just missign something fundamentally basic?
Are the layer effects of Inner Shadow, Bevele and Emboss, Gradient Overlay and Pattern Overlay form photoshop as easy to emulate in Illustrator as someone who knows the tool well enough to teach it made out?
I can finish this design off in photoshop, but as my object is circular as soon as i apply effect the outer edge gets fuzzy from pixelation, if i can do the entire thing in Illustrator then at least i'd be protecting the quality and it'd be scaleable, also everything i seem to read says that for logo design as much as you can do this in photoshop it's a bad working practice to get into so i'd rather teach myslef the right way

maybe your right, i should just work on the PS version and get it as sharp as i can in there and then maybe go back to basics in Illustrator and actually learn the tool before6 trying to output a project in it.......

Missing effects from imported images from Photoshop.

When I import from Photoshop the text files I bring In are missing some effects applied to them in Photoshop (i.e. drop shadow, outer glow etc.) Why would this be am I missing a step why I bring it in as a composition cropped layers and convert them to editable text or is it a coding error on my end. Any advise would help.

Just a personal anecdote.
I have several Photoshop people who try to provide me with files for After Effects and Final Cut Pro projects. Bless their little hearts, all they understand is how to print on white paper. It has taken many years to convince them to just give the raw, naked, un-effected stuff and to allow me, sometimes with their guidance, to apply all effects and filters in AE.
This just makes all of my work in AE simpler and cleaner; I know exactly how things will look as I go to video.

CS5 missing effect helpers

Help...
My CS5 After Effects is missing all of the little effect helpers that are used to drag effects around...
I did a screen grab of CS4 with a solid with a 4 color gradient applied and one of the same thing in CS5 so you can see what I am missing...

They're all there in my install of CS4 and I'm pretty sure that they were there after my install of CS5 but now they are all missing. It's making CS5 VERY crippling for me so I have been reverting back to CS4 until I find an answer. I have searched the web extensively and haven't found an answer or even another instance of this happening.
At first, I thought it was the [CTRL+SHFT+H] hotkey, but that's not it. Maybe there is another hotkey combo that I am missing...
Please help. I have many CS5 projects that I cannot open in CS4 and I can't work effectively in CS5 like this.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Missing Effects Tab

My Effects Tab went missing from my Browser Window. I can get it back by selecting Windows>Effects, but it superimposes over and hides the Video Tab. How do I get it to return to its proper place alongside the Video Tab?

Grab the tab and drag it over next to the project tab in the browser till it highlights the browser.

Missing Effect Preset / Restore Effect Preset

Most of my Effect Presets are missing!!!
EXAMPLE: Tube-modeled Compressor Presets are there;
Multiband Compressor dropdown only shows "Default"-- No other preset options;
Stereo Imagery + Center Channel Extractor dropdown only shows "Extract"-- No other preset options.
I already tried going to Documents + Adobe + Audition and making a copy of "3.0" folder (pasted it to desktop), then deleted the original one. Started Audition. Audition automatically restored the "3.0" folder (which contained "scripts" folder)-- No luck.
If my only choice is to do a complete reinstall of the program, can you suggest a link to instructions on how to perform said reinstall?-- I'm having a great deal of difficulty finding answers through this site's search function(!!!)
I'm running Audition 3.0.1, Build 8347.0
Win Vista, Svc Pack 2, 32-bit

I didn't see in the first page of hits any direct reference to where I pointed, only an indirect one. As a search engine, I'd say it was pretty restricted compared to Google. If I put the search 'Audition effects presets missing' into Google, the first result is a link to the reference I gave.
